Hey all!
Mo - That's great your mum is settling in happily!
Julia - Yay on Max's second tooth! Re: the chiro, yes a misalignment can hamper movement. K had a curved spine when he was born and the chiro said it could cause problems with moving later. He's still not moving much though LOL! If you see a chiro, make sure you see a paediatric one. Our chiro is soooo gentle, he doesn't do any "cracking".
Saffi - I am so sorry to hear about your work collegue :(. This is just devestating. I'm thinking of her and her family. The No Cry Sleep Solution book won't give you a quick magic answer re: sleep, but it will give you some ideas to help L eventually sleep better.
It's a very boring day here. Joel & I have been playing Uno while K has been trying to grab our cards. It's actually good for K because it is encouraging him to try and move over to us! He is rolling around everywhere now, I was worried he would be a lazy lump forever, only rolling when he felt like it!! Joel was well and truly crawling at this age, it's so frustrating that K still doesn't do much!
My mum is taking Joel for the day tomorrow, so it will be nice to have some time with just K. My 13 year old neice is staying with mum for a few days over the holidays and Joel just adores her, I'm sure he'll have a blast. Hooray for not trying to entertain a 3 year old for another day LOL!

Thank you everyone for the congrats etc on my friends baby. She is doing well and baby is doing well. They are having a few issues re feeding but I made sure that she understands that no matter what the midwives may say....there are alternatives to BFing if she feels it isnt happening. She is going home today and she is hoping that being in her own comfy environment will help to establish everything. I hope so too. I know baby needs to have a scan on her kidneys as one was larger than the other on ultrasound prior to birth but I dont know whether that has happened as yet. I will give her a call at some stage and have a decent chat.
I just had a call from daycare - Caitlyn has diarrhoea. So much so that she needed a change of clothes and is now in daycare clothes! I think it might have been the little bit of mandarin that I gave her???? Or the pea and ham soup....of course it could also be teeth?? She has a little drool rash on her chin!? I dont know - its all very hard.
Saffi-I am so sorry to hear about your workmate - there is a REALLY good forum on here for dealing with late loss.
Trish - I know what you mean about bubs not doing much. C just wants to sit on the floor and play with her toys. Lay her down - trying to encourage rolling - and she cries. Lay her on her tummy and she cries. I know I can afford to leave her cry for a few minutes but she just sounds sooooo unhappy. I put her on her belly when I get to daycare of a morning and she is fine but I was discussing it with Miss Connie (the worlds BEST carer!) and she thinks that C doesnt mind it so much because she has company!! I dont know - not a good enough reason to go back for a second just yet!
Anyway - I actually have some work to do so I had better go do it.
Have a great day all! MWAH
-
Hi Everyone
Trish - hope K's skin clears up for you soon.... its amazing the way the chiros can help with stuff like that too! Hope you enjoy your day with Kieran
Saffi - that is such sad news, life it just not fair sometimes. It makes us realise how lucky we are.
Mo - glad to hear your mum is settling in well
I still havent figured out if Tahlia is teething or not. After a really horrible night on Wednesday night (up every 3-4 hrs), she went down last night at about 9 and woke up at 8, with only a few small grizzles overnight that I didn't even need to get up to. However she woke up majorly grumpy and is in bed again now
Hope everyone has a great day!
-
still birth - not much could be worse than that. i was watching something the other day that has linked a virus to something like 20% of still born babies. poor lady...
we had a **** night, though compared to ^^^ i suppose it's not that bad.
would be good if the teeth would come on the top if they're going to! 4x poos yesterday and drool galore. sigh.
-
Saffi - I'm so sorry for your poor friend. You're right, it's not something you can ever get over, more that you just learn to function again eventually I guess. My heart goes out to them both...
Not much happening here, teething again. One top tooth through, the other nearly through. Sleep not too badly affected, but day sleeps today carp - resorted to giving him some nurofen, never done that in the day time before! The poor little guy just couldn't sleep, did the trick though, he slept for over 2 hours. Nights had improved heaps after he finally shook that cough, was feeding him before i went to bed then once over night, waking at about 7.40am most mornings. But with his teeth, i'm getting up to him twice some nights.
Funny the different perceptions of a 'bad' night - up until recently 3-4hour blocks of sleep overnight was the norm here!! I guess it's just what you're used to.
He's pulling himself up on furniture and standing now all day every day (in his cot too :wall:) which has resulted in a few stacks and bumps on the head, but nothing a quick cuddle hasn't been able to fix. Cut his finger on something today and it wouldn't stop bleeding, put a band aid on but then he tried to eat it off his finger .
Anyway, he's just woken up so gotta run...not sure how the rest of the day will pan out now, he doesn't do well if I try to put him down for a sleep after 3pm, so not sure what i'll do with him!!
Hope all are well!
-
hi girls !
Julia I love those dogs! My friend had one when we were little and he was actually the son of the dulux dog! Yay on the second tooth! Myles is sleeping better and better each night which is great!
Trish Have a nice day with K tomorrow! I have my fingers crossed that my next baby will be a lump lol! I don't know if i could handle 2 mini energiser bunnies!!!!
Mo so glad your mum is settling in!
Willow Crawling and teeth! wow you have a one busy fella on your hands! So glad he hasn't been too upset with his teeth!
Rebecca so glad your friend is doing well! Poor Caitlyn hope she is ok?
Kellie hope a tooth comes through soon!
Viv hope some teeth come your way too!
Hi everyone else i missed!
Well we had a big day today! We went to the Brisbane BB meet up! It was great! Got to meet some of the girls and their bubs! All were soo cute! We caught the bus and Myles was entertaining everyone!
I did post this in the BF part but i have found a lump in my boob! I am pretty sure it will be a blocked duct but it still has not gone and its been a week! so i have a referal to see someone for a ultrasound! I am a little freaked out cause my aunt has just recovered form breast cancer after radium! But i am being positive!
We are also hiring a new staff member for the bakery so that's keeping us busy! Oh and so is the lil man, he chats away now and cruise the furniture so quickly now i think he will be walking very soon!
anyway have a good night! xx
-
Amber, it's so stressfull isn't it? I had a lump a few weeks and back and had an US of both breasts, i had both because of my recent shingles. Shingles can be associated with Ca, so Dr was being extra cautious, but turns out all was fine. Infact 90% of lumps are fine. So hope yours is too.
-
Thanks Ange! I am sure it will be nothing! But its there in the back of my head taunting me iykwim! My cousin had something similiar and it turned out she had fibriscitious(sp?) So maybe it could be that? Keeping everything crossed just in case!!!
-
Evening all
Thanks everyone for your kind words. It is just so sad.
Had the best day with L yesterday. Our local PCYC has a crawlers session where bubs and mums interact with music and activity. There were heaps of great toys. L had a wonderful time crawling over everything. Will definitely be going back again.
Amber - best to get the lump checked out. Sure its nothing but you can never be too certain. Totally forgot about the BB meetup  Was at work so I could have gone down to the Parklands but pretty busy now that I am working 3 days a week.
Speaking of which DH has come round to the idea of me working part time permanently. Still got to find out what days we can get at daycare and then see if my boss agrees. It will be a nice balance.
Willow - L is starting to pull himself up on things too. Won't belong before our boys are cruising the furniture.
Viv - sounds like teeth but then I've said that before. Gee, its a drawn out process.
Mo - good news that your Mum is settling in to her new home.
Trish - how was your day alone with K?
Julia - YAY to Maxy getting another tooth.
Ange - are you over the shingles yet? Heard that they can hang around for months.
Kellie - I'm sure T's teeth will come thru when you least expect it. Just hope she isn't miserable for ages in the lead up.
Rebecca - how's C?
DH's b'day tomorrow. Taking him out for dinner sans bubs. Looking forward to it tho I suspect we will just talk about him all night.
Nothing much else happening. Ho hum.
-
Amber - I'm sure all will be ok, best to get it checked out for peace of mind though
Saffi - glad to hear DH has come around to the idea of part time
Not much new with us, still no teeth. She is starting to commando crawl a bit more now, so cute, and then she gets back into sitting position from her tummy
Hope everyone is having a good weekend! ;)
-
Hi all!
Amber - Big hugs for you . I know it's hard not to, but please try not to stress, I'm sure the lump is nothing serious. Because you're b'feeding you will find more weird lumps and things than you normally would. When are you getting the u/s done?
Kellie - Yay for Tahlia commando crawling! K sometimes commandos backwards, but it's very rare!
Saffi - That would be great if you could work PT! Definitely the best of both worlds for you all. My day with just K yesterday was lovely, thanks for asking! It was much quieter and I could give him my full attention for a change. Joel had a wonderful time with his nan and cousins.
Willow - I'm glad L is sleeping better at night. The clever boy for pulling himself up! Bring out the stack hat mummy!!
Viv - I hope that tooth pops out and you get some better nights sleep again. IKWYM about the poos...
Rebecca - I hope Caitlyn is feeling a bit better. Seems like we both have a couple of lumps on our hands! They'll get there ONE day!
We've got a fairly busy day tomorrow, our best friends are having a dedication ceremony for their son who is 6 weeks older than K. We're then going back to their new house for lunch. They've just moved around the corner from us, hooray! Then my sister and her two kiddies are coming for dinner while her DH is away for the weekend. Should be a fun day!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!
-
Amber  I'm sure it's nothing as-well.
I have a great one for the Bad Parenting File!
Maddi broke her glass bottle today & swallowed a piece of glass, yes you read that right SWALLOWED a piece a of glass about 1cm by 6mm.
Took her to Casey hospital, who then sent us to the Royal Childrens.
Thankfully it's passing through her system fine, but if she hasn't done a poo or passed it by Monday morning it's back off to the RCH & if she passes it but there is blood also back off to the RCH.
She came so close to having an Operation to remove it, Just so grateful it didn't get stuck etc...
Sorry for another selfish post, Things have got to get better soon right?
-
Mo -   You poor thing! Glad to hear Maddi is ok. Hope everything works out and she passes it easily!
Trish - love the new ticker pic
-
-
Oh no Mo! How terrifying!! I'm so glad Maddi is OK, I'm praying for you that it passes easily and she won't need to go back to the hospital. It's all happening with you guys atm!
-
Thanks Ladies, it scared the carp out of us both, I found a big piece in her mouth first & then got thinking she may have swallowed smaller piece, i can't believe how quickly she swallowed it.
So glad they went ahead an x-rayed her because they were just going to observe her, because there was no sign of damage, she was happy, playful, didn't cry once and we got a first & hopefully last ride in an Ambulance the paramedics were great, blowing up gloves to keep her amused.
She didn't get one cut in her mouth which is a shock because she had two pieces of glass in there, got one little cut on her finger.
We are so lucky!
I'm still so frazzled, I just need her to pass the glass!
-
omg Mo! Hope she is ok! You must have been frantic! what a scary thing! I spose they are putting everything in their mouths and we cant watch them all the time! Your definately not a bad mum! Far from it:hug:
-
Mo - how scary! These things happen so fast don't they. I'm glad there doesn't seem to be any injury. I swallowed a marble once (was about 6). My poor Mum was dissecting my poos for about a week. At least with a bub we are pretty used to analysing poos!
DH broke a glass the other day and despite vacuuming the floor L still found a speck of glass with his hand and had a bit of a bleed. DH was in trouble let me tell you!
Had a lovely dinner with DH last night. After assuring our sitter that L would be asleep all night he woke up and then wouldn't settle. Wasn't crying but just playing in his cot.
Forgot to say last post that I weighed L on Thursday, 9.62kg! What a boofer! He'd had a bottle and some food prior to being weighed so even accounting for that he would still be around 9.5kg. What are other boys up to now?
Yesterday tried L on chicken, egg yolk, cheese and beef. Think I've been too slow in introducing variety in foods. There's no history of food allergies in our families so figure we will just go for it. Funny watching his first reactions.
Anyway, need to put L down for his morning nap.
Have a good day.
-
ETA We have glass finally, such a relief!
-
:cheer: Hooray, I'm so glad it came through Mo!!! Now you can stop worrying so much :)
Saffi - Glad you had a nice dinner out last night, we haven't done that since K was born!
-
Mo so glad everything is ok! xx
-
I feel a lot better, She seems so sore down there now, only doing a little poo then she'll cry & stop.
Guess it might take a while for her bowel to go back to normal, she's not interested in solids at all the moment only bottles.
Saffi glad you had a nice dinner, What a great weight L is.
M is 8.68kg bare as of yesterday, they really slow down with the weight gain once they get active, seems like she's been in the 8kg's for ages.
-
Wow Mo I am glad things have worked out a little!! What a nail biting experience for you!!!
Weight - I havent had C weighed in a while but she must be going great guns cause we are now in the toddler nappies - 10kg and up. I dont really think she is 10kg but she is a round thing! when I go to Townsville in 2 weeks I will get her weighed then.
Trish-I wouldnt mind so much still having a "lump" if it didnt bother her so much! She seems to be getting more and more frustrated that she can't get about and get to things when she wants to. The only time she moves anywhere is when she is on her belly on a hard floor - and then she just goes backwards!! She is still waking herself up at night when she is on her belly - I have no idea what to do!!
She woke at 1250 last night and was onher belly. So I rolled her back, gave her a bottle and left again thinking she would just drop off as per usual. No....we were up and down until 330 this monring. She wouldnt sleep on her back (screams!) or her side as she kept rolling onto her belly. She much prefers to sleep on her belly but has to be half asleep and roll onto it to actually sleep on it if that makes sense. Anyway gave up at 330 this morning and took her into bed with me and DH. Slept till 730 am when I awoke to the dog barking madly and a loud knocking on my front door! The owner of the house I am renting told me a few weeks back tha she will be coming down to do some work on the house including painting the roof. I told her that the best time wold be while we were in Townsville. anyway - she arranged for someone to come to do the roof this morning!! Whilst I am not complaining that she was getting it done but it would have been nice to have been told when it was getting done so I didnt have to answer the door with bed hair in my gorgeous flannellete (?sp) pajamas!! Not impressed and will be telling her so tomorrow!!
anyway - am off to try to feed the monster oops I mean Caitlyn of course. Hope you are all having a good day!
MWAH

Evening all,
Mo - how scary. I am so glad that Maddi is ok. These things do happen so don't beat yourself up over it. Just celebrate that she is ok. Wow I don't come on for a few days and this happens.
Well hubby and I had a night away last night. We celebrated our 4th anniversary on Thursday so this was our thing. Left Ethan with my parents and sister for the night. He was perfect for them so that was good. He didn't really miss me (oh).
Tomorrow and Tuesday are the practice runs for leaving Ethan with Nana as I go back to work next week. Feeling a bit sad about that but I know he will be fine. The practice is more for my benefit than his. I have found some things to keep me busy for the two days so that is good.
Another sad thing. My baby boy is growing too fast. I need to go shopping for some size 1 clothes as he is showing off his little tummy with the 0 stuff now. Aahh he isn't meant to be that big yet. Does anyone know how to stop them growing so fast?
Oh a cute story before I go. Ethan learnt how to sing and dance this week. He likes to sit at the bottom of the shelf that we keep the radio on and bounce up and down and say "bah, bah, bah" with the music. Sooooo cute.
Have a great night all.
-
Added a few to the gallery, not the best but you get the idea.
It's about 3mm thick as-well.
Alz-glad you had a good time & that Ethan behaved himself.
Rebecca how annoying for you, would of been nice for a little bit of notice.
-
Hi everyone!
Well, we bought a caravan yesterday! Hooray, finally the search is over lol! We found it on eBay and made the guy an offer and he took it off so we didn't have to wait for the auction to end. We are so lucky because it was only on eBay for 24 hours and he already had 20 watchers and a million questions. They are so rare to find, we are so lucky!! We bought a Jayco pop top with triple bunks and a double bed. It has an annexe which will come in handy too. It is about 20 years old, but in immaculate condition, it's so clean and tidy inside. We got it at a price we are rapt with, about half the price of anything else with the same set up because it's a bit older. So, hooray! I really don't know how it will be taking a baby, but I guess we'll find out! DH is picking it up tonight, I have no idea how it will fit in our front yard, but DH reckons he's got it all worked out.
So that's my exciting weekend! DH went surfing down at Woolamai (Phillip Island) on Saturday with a couple of mates, how insane! It was FREEZING! One of his mates is an old surfing buddy who moved to Manly, so he wanted to go for a surf down here for old times sake. Crazy I tell you! DH & I first hooked up when he took me for a surfing lesson at Cape Woolamai in September '98, awwww.... I haven't surfed since I feel pg with Joel, such a long time ago!
Anyway, what a long selfish post from me!!!
Alz - Good luck going back to work next week! A practice run is a great idea. And how cute that Ethan bops along to the music :)
Rebecca - How annoying that the roof painter turned up without you knowing about it! I would NOT be happy.
Mo - I hope Maddi recovers quickly, the poor little girl. I'm so glad you don't have to worry about surgery or anything now.
Have a great day everyone!
-
Had a houseful of people for the weekend. Managed to squish 11 people in on Sat night. Man am i tired now! We went mountain biking and played poker. I'm not much of a poker played but it was a laugh.
Congrats on the Van Trish. Woolami in winter is a bit mad! DH surfed on King Island in Winter in his boardies once. I think he was trying to impress me. What a loser! clearly not impressed!
Mo- i am so glad M is ok. What a weekend for ya.
Alz- they are growing too quickly! I need to go shopping i think.
Saffi- of course he woke up when you had a sitter! How do they know???
Rebecca- At least you had PJ's on!
Viv- So brangelina have good taste eh?
I found a piece of peanut in Lu's mouth this am! It must have come out of some fruit and nut choc over the weekend. She seems ok, but watching her.
-
What's with brangelina's boys names? Maddox, Pax, Knox????? Picking a theme here....
Mo - great news about the glass. It is quite a sizeable piece!
Trish - congrats on the van. Triple bunk hey? Planning on having another bub to go in it?
Alz - congrats on your annisversary. GL with returning to work. Are you going back part time?
We didn't dreamfeed L last night. Still up heaps overnight. I gave him his bottle at 6.15am, he went down for a sleep at 7.30am, up at 9.30 and now down at 12! I was able to have about 90mins sleep this morning too. Hopefully we can get another sleep in this afternoon otherwise going to have a really grumpy bub on my hands.
Not sure what's happening with his solids. Wouldn't take breakfast (at 10am), and now not interested in lunch. Downs the bottle like noones business so at least he is getting nutrition.
Hope you're all having a good day.
-
Trish congrats, sounds like a great deal.
Saffi maybe L is teething, M went off solids when she first teethed.
Ange sounds like you had a full house, Hope Lu doesn't have a reaction to the peanut.
M is fine, no more glass & tummy is all good so no damage was done, thank goodness
-
It's the x factor Saffi! When Lu's gums are sore she goes off solids. but still loves the hooters. could that be it?
Great news Mo, now go buy a tatts ticket.
Was going to keep a secret, but it seems i have a stalker and secret may be out! Another surprise bun in the oven here. Surprise in the fact that i am still BF'ing alot, have only had one period which was weeks ago and we there was only one incident when it could have happened. I am 5weeks 4days. So very early, and not thinking too much of it for a few weeks yet. Tired, hungy and more stupid than usual, a little nausea but nothing to whinge about.
-
Wow, congratulations Ange!!!! :cheer: That's such exciting news!!!!! Here's wishing you a very H&H pregnancy :D
Saffi - I was going to suggest L may be teething too? Hopefully that's all it is and he goes back to normal soon! No plan for a bub #3 at this stage!! We thought a triple bunker would be great if the boys want to bring a friend/cousin/etc. Otherwise the third bunk can be used for storage.
Yay Ange!!!!!!!
-
Oh wow Ange! That's fantastic news, congratulations!!!! So does that make you due in February/March? So you were the next one! Anyone else?????
Don't think L is teething, as he has cut 2 within the last 10 days. Who knows!?!
Alz - do you know how much E weighs now? Size 1 clothes - yes your little boy is growing up, as they all are.:( L still wears 000 singlets and they are getting pretty snug on him. He wore them when he was a newborn and were sooooo big on him. Got a few 00 singlets but thinking I might just go 0 at this late stage.
Anyway L is getting grumpy so might look at trying him on a bottle.
Have a good evening
-
Congrats Ange that is great news, Lu will be a great big Sis :cheer:
I knew something was up with all those sneaky posts in the cloth thread!
-
Thans ladies, due 12th March i think.
Saf- I thought the same thing, Lu had only just cut her top teeth and i though sure not? But yep, the bottom 3rd and 4th started coming through. So ya never know.
Mo- Maz said to me "you're pregnant" when i saw her a couple of weeks ago. Apparently when a black crow crosses her path, someone she knows is UTD. At that stage i had no idea. We weren't trying, (although we obviously had one incident though! ) and i thought she was mad! It was even to early to do a HPT. wierd i know.....
-
So happy for you Ange it's fantastic! Are you going for a dating scan?
Are you gonna find out the sex this time?
Maz has really good intuition.
-
Ange - congrats!!! Thats fantastic news!! I keep thinking that I would like a "friend" for Caitlyn but its not a really good time right now so am holding off for a while!!
But now for the news.....Caitlyn cut her tooth!!!! Woohoo!!! Its been sitting just under the surface for about a week now so Miss Connie from daycare rang me this afternoon with the good news!! YAY!!! Finally...although I dont like that she is growing up!!! :(
sorry for the selfish post!
MWAH
-
Ange - Congrats!!! I bet L will make a great big sister! Have you been well?
Mo - glad Maddi is ok now, what a worry for you guys though!
Trish - congrats on the caravan.. where are you planning for your first trip?
Saffi - Tahlia has those days with her solids too... I can't figure her out!
Rebecca - congrats on the tooth!
Not much new with us, Tahlia is being feral today, so she is having an early bath at the moment with her dad and then she is off to bed! Hope she'll be happier tomorroW!
-
OMG Ange congratulations:hooray:! thats fantastic! i had to read it twice! i should have checked our thread earlier thats so wonderfull! Lots of sticky vibes to you! Has AF come back or just the once?
Kelli hope Tahlia is happier tomorrow!
Saffi i know what you mean with brangelinas names and people thought sunday was bad but knox wtf???? thats great your going back part time more time to spend with L!
Rebecca YAY Caitlyn thats great! First tooth changes everything hey! they arent our babies anymore:(
Trish what a great buy on the campervan! you guys will have great family holidays in it i bet!
Alz happy anniversary! Ethan sounds like such a cutioe bopping away! Myles has been in 1s for a while! It goes so fast hey!
mo so glad Maddi is ok now!
Well not much happening here Myles is sleeping ok....hmmm maybe not ok maybe just o! haha! i am sure he is getting all 4 top teeth so maybe thats upsetting him? Whos knows, i am grasping at straws!
On the boobie front i have a scan on the 28th i wish it was this week so i can get it over with!
I bought a sewing machine so i can start making my own nappies and clothes for Myles! Terri and i are going to a class for the nappies and i am going to teach myself how to make the clothes! Myles will be walking around in sacks :cryinglaugh: I am so excited to do it though!
Anyway have a great night xoxoxoxo
-
No regular visits from old Af Amber, just the once a while back. I've been doing a bit of sewing too, which is laughable! I've only made pants so far. But hey ya gotta start somewhere.
Been feeling great thanks Kellie, well maybe a little off and a bit tired, but nothing compared to last time. But it is only weeks 5, so who know what will happen next week.
No dating scan Mo, there is really only one time when conception could have occured! A bit sad i know the exact date and time. And nah on finding out the sex. Not many surprises left for us big kids. i love a surprise!
Going shopping today, feel like spending!
:cheer: for your tooth caitlyn! no biting mum now like the feral guni has been.
-
Wow, congrats Ange!! Very exciting news. If it were me though I'd be rocking in a corner! LOL!
Saffi - you had a chance to read any of the No Cry Sleep Solution? Just wondering whether or not it's worth buying...Although nights have improved here, there's still a lot of room for improvement. He is cutting a top tooth so trying not to lose perspective but it feels like it's been a very long time since he's slept really well and I'm getting pretty fed up with it. Do I just accept that this is the way he is?? :wall:
