Mo - that's good news about your Mum! A bruised toosh (how cute....) Amber - I'm making all sorts of cards: birthday cards, baby cards, and christmas cards. I think you can ovulate without having AF. Its probably a matter of timing - you might O and then get pg straight away and not have AF return (IYKWIM). GL with the TTC. Kaz - it's nice to have some time out isn't it. It doesn't hurt for the blokes to have some time alone with their kids either. If nothing else they appreciate what we Mums do. I wouldn't have thought 1 year olds were old enough to get into fights. But I suppose having their toys taken off them by their sibling or wanting their toy will create some tension. Becky - GL with the toilet training. Have to admit not looking forward to that. Then again I think most of the hard work will be done by daycare.
Nothing happening here. Day off today, but so far have just done housework. L is having his morning nap so taking advantage of some quiet time. Having a friend and her bub coming over this afternoon for a playdate.
Hello! Is anyone there???? I could be paranoid and think you're all avoiding me LOL.
Just a quick news flash.....
LOCHIE IS CLAPPING
I know for most bubs this is one of the first things they do. We have been showing him for 12 months now and he's only just getting it. Talk about a slow learner LOL. It is so cute. Got to find a new thing to teach him now.
Yes i am avoiding you miss crafty Nerida ! lol! Nah just slack! Yay Lachie! How very excting!
mo Thats good news! big hugs to you all. I am sure she will feel better being home
Well Myles is WALKING!!!! Yaya!! Mum taught him while i was at work which i am kinda sad about But so stoked he walks up to me when i get home!
Congratulations to Myles He'll be running in no time. I reckon L is only a week or so away from walking too.
Other news, L worked out how to use the dog door. He was watching our dogs go through it and the next thing I know he is half way out. Luckily I was watching him because the does opens onto a landing and a flight of 12 steps. Could have been a really bad accident.
Gees they are so quick and watch everything hey! Myles can get on and off the lounge now which is good but he does it when i am out of the room and i worry abit!
Hope he doesnt decide to go out the door as the dogs are coming in
Yay for Myles. It's so cute when they start walking isn't it.
What's everyone getting the little ones for christmas this year?
I was going to get Maddi a rocking horse but one of her grandparents already got her one.
The horse is great, it's pink & does horse like things it's actually a rocking unicorn i know Maddi will love it. It's so much nicer than the one i was looking at.
We're going away tomorrow to Phillip Island, just for the weekend so I've got to pack the caravan today. Luckily it has almost everything in it except our clothes and food! The weather is terrible today, I hope it improves a bit for the weekend!
K is cruising around heaps now, he loves to move around. Yesterday he stood by himself for a few seconds so I don't think it will be long until he works that one out. He has a push-along walker and he LOVES it, he staggers along and excitedly says "yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah" repeatedly LOL! Yesterday I sang him Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (his absolute favourite song) and he made the twinkly hands, awww! He loves music, whenever I sing or he hears music he bops, nods his head and makes clicking noises, so cute!
Amber - Yay for Myles walking!!! What a clever boy! It's so fun when they start walking around. You'll probably find toys and things in weird places now he can walk, Joel used to carry things everywhere with him once his hands were free LOL! Re: ovulating without AF. I'm pretty sure you don't O until AF is about to arrive IYKWIM? I O'd for the first time when K was 6 months old and then AF reared her ugly head two weeks later. You're so lucky she hasn't come back yet!
Mo - That's great news about your mum, did she end up going back to the nursing home yesterday? Hopefully lowering the meds will help her heaps. I don't know what to get K for Christmas, we just got over his birthday! The rocking horse sounds gorgeous, K has one and loves it. He's always rocking it and making clippety-clop noises.
Saffi - I'm glad you had a nice time away. Yay for L clapping! It's so cute isn't it?
Becky - How are you going with the toilet training? It sucks doesn't it? I'm not looking forward to going through it again!
Hi to everyone else! Hope you all have a great weekend!
Trish - I think the Christmas meetup is on the 7th December at the Fitzroy Gardens. Have a great weekend away!
Mo - great belly shot on FB! Dont really know what we are going to get T for christmas, she go so much for her b'day! I was thinking about getting her a table and chairs for her to sit it though.
Amber - way to go Myles on the walking! Tahlia has been taking a few steps while holding onto my finger, so I dont think she is too far away either. Life will never be the same!
Saffi - way to go L on the clapping!
Not much new with us, we got our professional photos back last night, and they are so good. If any of you Melb girls want some photos, I highly recommend Chrissy! I've put them up on FB if anyone wants a squiz
Kellie Maddi loves her table & chair set she got for her b'day so I'm sure T will loves hers as-well.
M got way too spoiled for her b'day, oh well at least her little sister will get good use out everything as-well.
Trish enjoy your weekend & i'll PM you mid next week to set-up a time
The good news about my Mum isn't so great now
Saw her last night & she was super confused, so we kinda knew it was going to get worse.
Today she's back to sitting at the nursing home entrance waiting for "Stuart" & she's even tried to get out the front to look for him
So now the nursing home has decided it's best for her to goto the Dementia ward as it's secure & they can deal with these situations a lot better.
I was so hoping she would be better being back at the home as she had friends etc there.
It really really bites knowing that she'll never get better & probably only get worse.
Sorry for dumping all this on you Ladies, but my Family have their heads buried so far in the sand that they couldn't care less about anyone but themselves!
Thanks Becky & Kellie
Nope Stuart is just someone she made up. I'm guessing it's way her way of feeling loved & wanted.
Just feel so useless, i guess at least she knows i'm there so that's something.
Mo- sorry sad to know that your mum may not get better, must be such a hard road to go down. Its not nice having to see them in a nursing home either with lots of others that like it too.
even though days may feel wasted if she doesnt rekognise you, she knows, she knows how much you love and care for her and visit her.
My nan was in a home for 5yrs and my mum visited her every week. My pop was there every single day, sometimes she was good, other days she was not, not sure if you remember but she was very ill when Tyron was born so when i came home i knew i had to go see her, She met Tyron when he was 8days old, she passed away 2 days later on his Due Date. SHE KNEW, i beleive she was waiting to meet him.
Mo - sorry to hear about your mum.
Nic - I remember now that your gran died soon after T was born. I think too that she was waiting to meet her great grandson.
Trish - you'll get this after you get back but hope you have a great weekend away. Seems like you are putting that caravan to good use.
As for Xmas present - we have got L a swing/slide set. It was in the Target sale a while back. Actually its on raincheck and it still hasn't come in. Hopefully it will make it by Xmas. Thinking I might also get one of those clam shell wading pools/sandpit things.
Been going through L's toys to see what I can put away. He has so many toys that I really don't think he needs anymore for the time being. The kid has sooooo many teddy bears and soft toys. His latest is a penguin called Chilly - so cute.
Have to say I am really looking forward to Christmas this year. Now that L is older and interested in everything he will be so much more engaged with whats going on. DH even suggested that we go to a Carols by Candlelight.
Does anyone have a Christmas tradition that is special for their baby? Or looking to start one? Apart from getting a photo with Santa every year, each year I am going to have L choose a tree decoration. We started it off last year with a "baby's first Christmas" bauble, but this year I want him to choose one for himself.
Anyway, got to get ready to go out and do the grocery shopping.
