Hi all! Sorry I haven't popped in for a while, life has been so busy. The business is so full-on right now, I think because of the economic crisis more people want to save money by buying second hand and more people want to make money so more people want to sell their stuff to me! The phone rings non-stop, I get calls when I'm cooking dinner, eating dinner, trying to bath the boys, etc. Some days it's so frustrating! I love the business, but I also have a family and household to look after. I will have to take a bit of a break from it when the bub is born, there is no way I'll be able to manage things otherwise.
I'm about to create more work for myself this week :p! I've got a few odds and ends from the biz that I'm going to give away on BB, they have been sitting around for a while and I want to clear some room out. I can only imagine it will make things even busier for me, but oh well, you only live once LOL!
Re: teeth - K has all of his teeth except for the very back molars which they usually get at 2 (or just after). I think one of his eye teeth hasn't quite finished cutting even though I can just see it, he chucked yesterday which is a big sign he's teething and he was cranky and even woke up last night which he doesn't do any more unless he's in pain.
Dragonbub - How gorgeous that Caden can say crocodile! He has a great vocabulary :D
Saffi - Glad your OB appointment went well and your little girl is doing well!
Julia - K teethed in the exact order you described LOL! Good luck with Charlie's show on the weekend!!
Rebecca - Hopefully your DH can find a job in Toowoomba, it would be great if you could move!
Mo - Poor Cookie, I'm glad she's getting a bit better. Have you booked her in to a chiro yet? I swear by them! Joel had a dislocated shoulder from birth that wasn't detected until I took him to the chiro at 10 weeks.
Kaz - Teething sucks doesn't it? That's great news about not taking the meds! I have my fingers crossed for you that you won't need them at all :)
Kellie - Yay for a night out! I don't even know what that feels like anymore LOL! I'm glad the teething necklace is working well for Tahlia :)
Amber - We haven't heard from you in a while, I hope you and Myles are well. Let us know how you are going!
Well, better go and get the boys some brekky. Have a great day everyone :D
-
Baha....Dragon, Max says "wower" for flower too....and mower, and shower!!!
-
Amber - your ultrasound pics are great, especially the 4d ones! Did I see some evidence of something? Or was that my mind playing tricks on me ... haha!
-
Amber the Lil Nudger looks so adorable.
Trish that is a very nice thing for you to do.
Things are going well here, Cookie is a lot more settled & Maddi is still a terror, butshe is slowly getting better.
-
hi i am still alive lol! Well just :(
Still the same on the sleeping front! And am finding it really hard doing it alone! But things can only get better I hope! Everything is good with lil nudger!
Will be back later for personals hopefully! Am off to watch my Twilight DVD woohoo!

What has happened to all of the Octo mums? Its soooooo quiet in here. I am sure we have news ... !!!
All is ok here, sleeping was great the night before last, but Tay woke at 3.30 and was still awake at 5.30am. She is doing my head in a bit. DH was in with Mia as she was scared, so I brought Tay into bed with me hoping she would go back to sleep. But no, no such luck.
Lucky I love my lil munchkins, or I would have to consider trading them in for a model that SLEEPS!
Other than that, woken up with a nasty nasty headcold today. Which kind of sucks, because i have had a cold all last week and thought I was getting over it. Also due for my af and am in some major pain with cramping. What a week!
Hope you are all getting a bit more sleep than us!
-
I'm here!
Just not had a lot to say
I'm also having sleep problems at the moment, Tahlia was being really good, even self settling most of the time and sleeping through the night, but that has all gone out the window! Taking over an hour to get her to sleep and then she is usually waking twice overnight. Lucky the overnight wakeups are easy to settle her again or I'd be really pulling my hair out! A bit of boob and she goes straight back to sleep!
We were starting to seriously think about TTC #2 but after this week, I'm not so sure!
We are off to mothers group this afternoon, hopefully that will tire her out and we'll have a better night tonight
Kaz - hope your feeling better soon
Amber - hope you enjoyed Twilight (although I'm sure you did). Can you believe I still havent read the books or seen it? Living in the dark ages!
Hi to all the mums, bubs, and preggo bellies!
-
Seems the last few nights have been a 'night-mare'!
I can't even count the amount of times M woke last night....I'm pretty tired today lemme tell ya!
Spoke to DH this morning, he's found a place in Singapore and he's trying to scr*w them down in price ATM! Hope we get it...it's on the ground level of a complex and it has a garden which faces the RIVER! A garden to me will be a sense of normality! Kinda excited, but getting a bit sad too!
Still sort of trying for #2 but the amount of times Ben is away he keeps missing it!!! Oh well!
Hope everyone is well....babies, toddlers, bellies and Mummy's

Hey ladies,
Well we are finally back in brisbane and happy to be back definately!! Only a 12 hours drive with Rhys, thought it would be longer. Got a house this week but can't move in till the 1st of May, lucky mum has a 5 bedroom house!! Lol. We had a 4 bed, 2 bath and double lock up in Mackay for $550 a week and got the same down here for $350....both brand new houses!!
This thread has been very quiet in the past 10 days.....
MO - How is Cookie going with her hernia??
AMBER - Nudger is so cute!! Can't wait for our scan on the 7th to see lil BJ!
Now I can't remember anything else and I am bllaming it on PG brain!! Thats my excuse and I am sticking to it!!
Hi to everyone else and take care all.....
-
I have to say girls, its a bit comforting to know that I am not the only way going through life with an 18 month old that isn't sleeping! Everyone I know is having trouble with their kids at this age ... surely it has to be teeth?
Amelia - Glad you are happy and back in Brissy, sounds like the house you have found is nice! I am sure by May you will be looking forward to just being in your own place again, with all of your own furniture etc. I dont think you feel like you are 'home' until you are surrounded by your own things!
Julia - babies that sleep, dont make it easy for mummies and daddy's trying to conceive either lol. Hopefully your dh isnt away 2 long and Miles starts being a better sleeper for you .... then you can get back to business. Good like with the new house negotiations!
Kel - lack of sleep is enough to put you off having more kids at times! But think on the bright side, once you do fall pregnant, there is still another 9 months before the bubba gets here. So :crossfingers: for us all, that we have happy and more sleepy children by then!
That is about it for me really. We have all just gotten up for a sleep. Is anyone else finding their babies sleeping for longer during the day? Tay went down today at about 1 and has just woken. I put it down to her lack of sleep at night, thus she is tired during the day. But I am not sure, maybe she is just not that well.
On the positive side, I got to have a sleep as well. Much needed, I have the chills happening this afternoon. Damn flu.
-
Oops, Julia I meant babies that dont sleep! Soz!

Hey all!
I'm sooo tired today, last night I had to get up to pee every hour for some reason! Normally I only have to get up once or twice, I hope this isn't the start of something new :o. K isn't himself today, he is grumpy and refused to go down for a nap unless I held him - very unusual for him. I don't have the time to hold him while he sleeps so I made him stay awake and told him not to be grumpy if he isn't going to have a nap LOL!
Kaz - Yep, long naps from K this week too (except for today of course ), he's been doing some 3 hour naps. A couple of other people said their kids are the same this week so I think it may be the daylights savings end finally catching up with them? Maybe it takes a couple of weeks for them to readjust their body clocks?
Amelia - Great to hear you've found a new place! It will be nice to get all settled in before you new bub arrives :). Are you going to find out the gender at the scan?
Julia - Oooh, I have my fingers crossed you get that place! It sounds lovely. Ground floor apartments are so much better.
Kellie - Yuck at the night wake ups! It definitely makes you think twice about #2!! Hopefully this is a quick phase that passes really soon.
Amber - I hope you're doing OK today you poor thing. I love your u/s pics! Your bub is sooooo cute :D
Mo - I'm glad Cookie is settling down for you.
Well, better go and think about cooking dinner. I'm so unmotivated today! I wish someone would just show up on my doorstep with a hot meal for us LOL! It's a nice dream...

Hi all
Sorry to hear many of you are having sleep problems at the moment. I'd like to say we're in the same boat, but we're fortunately not. That said every night is different with L so he may decide to wake tonight.
L's day sleeps are usually 2 - 3 hours. He is usually so ragged from a busy morning at daycare that he sleeps for a couple of hours easily. Home days are a little bit different.
Amber - hoping I could see some indication of Lil Nudger's flavour, but no.... One cute bubby you have there.
Amelia - welcome back to the big smoke.
Julia - would think that an apartment with a garden would be very sought after.
Trish - hear ya on the frequent peeing......
Kellie - 9 months is a longgggggggggg time. T will be long over any sleep issues by then (I'm sure).
Kaz - sounds like you need a
Mo - :hello:
Dragon - yay on Caden learning a word a day. L is very vocal but not too many words. Tho I swear he said thank you today.
Nothing much happening with us.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been around for a while, things have been really busy here too. Been away, had family staying and.....DS broke his leg last week after a fall in the backyard :( so we've had numerous trips to hospitals, drs, mummy on the phone for 3 days trying to get a specialist to see him etc etc :wall: Our GP ended up sending us to the Children's Hospital, he saw an ortho specialist and his leg should heal well. In a full cast up to his hip/bum but coping soooo well with it - he started walking today, cast and all :o
Sleep has been a bit disrupted here but not too bad at all considering. Has slept through the night again for the last 4 or 5 nights so hopefully he's adjusting to moving around in his cot with the cast on. We're finding here that if he does wake that DH can settle him in a minute flat whereas he will carry on for me. So DH has been doing most of the settling when he needs it and it's working really well. I actually find that the mornings we are out and about and busy are the days he won't sleep as well, maybe he gets a bit overtired. So lately I've been going out in the afternoon after he's had a sleep. I wish he'd sleep for 3 hours!! Most days it's just under 2, not complaining, he goes to sleep without a fuss most days and considering how far we've come with his sleep, I'm not questioning it.
As for me, baby Boo is doing well. Feeling very prg, very fat and very tired at the moment! Think lugging the boy + cast around is taking it's toll!
Amber - just wanted to give you a big  Have been thinking of you and hope that things improve with Myles really soon.
Mo - how is cookie going now??
DB - wow, that's some vocabulary! DS isn't bad either says lots of new words all the time, this week it's 'Bob', he's become obsessed with Bob the Builder  He is watching a lot of DVDs at the moment but not sure what else I can do with a 18 month old with a full leg cast in wet weather :dunno:
Kellie - hope Tahlia's sleep improves soon. If we have a bad day/night with L I get so frustrated thinking about how I'm going to do it with the new baby!
Trish - thought you'd been a bit quiet, business is booming hey??!! I had a day with L a few weeks ago where he wouldn't go to sleep and only finally fell asleep while I was holding him and then I transferred him back into his cot...NO idea what was going on there but thankfully it was just that one day. My kids are still waking up to an hour earlier thanks to daylight savings...grrrr! I miss my 7.30am starts!
Well I'd better be off, going to have a cuppa and then head to bed. L woke last night at a really random time, we're not sure if his leg was bothering him because he started walking on it yesterday or if he was a bit out because we were out all day and he had a really late nap :dunno: Anyway, hope he sleeps through tonight
-
Willow - I'm glad L is coping well with his cast, the poor little man :(. What is it about them putting it on for their mum, but not their dad? K is exactly the same . Re: today's non-nap, he did fall asleep in my arms and when I put him down he started carrying on so I just took him out again. Normally he would just keep on sleeping if I put him down, but not today. He went down tonight without any arguments thank goodness. Fingers crossed he doesn't do it again tomorrow! I hope your kids get back into non-daylight savings time soon! K has finally worked it out this week, hooray!
Saffi - That's great that daycare wipes L out LOL! You need them to do good naps when you're pregnant.
Gotta go to bed, soooo tired. Night all!
-
Trish - I didnt even think about daylight savings, but good point! It is sure to get themout of their routine.
Willow - Sorry to hear about your little boy, but glad to hear you are all coping with it! Its funny, but Tay has also started carrying on when we put her down for sleep. Its normally only a 1 or 2 minute cry and she is asleep. So that is manageable!
Saffi - I am getting plenty of hugs from my DH ... we are in such a good place right now. We normally get on really well anyway, but we are feeling that bit more loved up at the moment ... hehe.
We had a great night last night, we put the girls down and tried something new with Mia. I said she could take her baby bjorn to bed in her little cot with her, so she slept on the floor next to Mia. She come out about 5 times, but it was calm, just to tell me that her doll was sick or crying. I said you need to go back and look after her, and the last time we didnt hear from her again! We checked and she had put herself to bed. We didnt hear a peep out of her to 7 this morning. Major for us ... this is a girl that comes to our bed every night without fail since she could walk! Tay also slept through, she had her normal little grizzle about going to bed, but she got up at 7.30 and we didnt hear boo from her either. So so happy. Wouldnt it be nice if its lasts! :crossfingers:
:hello: to everyone else!

Just a selfish me post.
Got a call from the nursing home last night saying that my Mum was punched in the face by a male respite resident. The punch made her fall over, So she's now been transferred to hospital because she's possibly dislocated her shoulder from the fall plus she may have a broken nose or some broken face bones.
I just can't believe my mum was attacked, it's honestly making me feel sick to think she's not even safe there.
I'll bbl later for personals
-
Oh no Mo :o. I hope your mum is going to be OK, how horrible :(. I hope they keep that man away from everyone else. Let us know how she goes .
Kaz - Glad you had a good night last night! Great trick, I hope it works again for you tonight :)
