Time for my weekly bump :)
Maddi is finally on the mend, the asthma pump worked really well for her & she is down to having it twice a day(morning & night)
Next week we will try drop the morning dose & see how she goes & hopefully the week after we might be able to drop the night dose.
She still has the occasional cough but no more coughing fits & at night she only wakes 2-3 times due to coughing so much better than last week :D
Kodi is doing well, got a snotty nose but doing well otherwise.
Bambi also doing well, getting bigger & stronger. She is such an active little thing.
When we had those stupid floods a few months ago all but 10 baby outfits got ruined. If they weren't ruined by water then the stupid mice got them. We had to throw out so many bags it was sad. We lost all the blankets, beanies, socks, mittens, towels & clothes.
At least i found out now & not closer to my due date.
Ange how you feeling, you must be pretty over it by now, how long after you have bubs will your DH fly over? You all must be missing him like crazy.
Trish hope your all doing well.
Jules are you back in your house yet? How is Charlie settling in to his life?
Amber miss you & hope you start posting more soon x
Good to hear M is on the mend Mo. I love your weekly bump!
Bummer on the clothes. Can you claim them on insurance?
Well and truly over it now. I've torn a muscle between my ribs from coughing. I am missing DH Mo, mainly his help! 5 weeks on my own and counting. It sux!!
I'll call him as soon as I'm in labour and he'll come on next available flight. So I'm guessing that night or the next day depending on flights...
Ouch that sucks, hopefully your not too far away from meeting your bundle!
Did you have a quick labour with S? Are you going back to St V or Frances Perry? I know it was one of those hospitals lol.
5wks on your own! Your a supermum, i can't even imagine surviving 1wk on my own.
As for the clothes we will just pick up some 2nd hand items & some new ones when they have specials.
No way am i going out & spending a fortune on baby clothes when this will be our last & who knows how long she'll be in them for.
I've already lined up some 4 & 3x0's from another BB member :)
Sorry so slack.....I really need a lap top its too cold to walk outside then down stairs to the study lol! Promise I will be back soon and catch up on everything! xxx
Hey ladies :D
Mo - Bummer about the clothes :(. Wish I could help you, but I've passed all Alana's clothes back to my sister who is due to have a baby girl any day now. Most of Alana's clothes were handed down from my sister who didn't plan on having another bub, but changed her mind . Go to the Baby & Kids markets if you can, it's a great place to stock up on clothes! There's one coming up in Caulfield I'm going to this month. I went last year and it is seriously HUGE!
JM - You poor thing, your ribs must hurt so much . It must be so hard not having your DH around atm! I only just twigged the other day that you are due a few days after my sister (who's name is Billie - great name )
Boomba - Hello! I've missed you, must have a chat with you soon .
Yules - How are you guys?
Saffi - How's things with you?
AFM - All is good, just some colds in the house. I was sick yesterday with a horrid headache and nausea, but I'm better today. Business is booming atm which is wonderful :D. I like being busy (and making money)!
Hope you all have a great day!
Hey girls
Mo - yep Charlie is here and back to normal! Nice to be back in the house although there are still a few things that need doing. I've been catching up on paperwork and trying to do some study, but Darcie is being CRAZY clingy making it difficult to do anything! I wish I was in aus, I'm just about to go through a whole bunch if clothes! I would of happily passed them on. Glad to hear your household is on the mend :)
Ange - I didn't realize your dh was only coming back at the very last moment.... How awful. I remember with Darcie, dh was still in singas and I was petrified! Not that he did much... Labour was all me. I just wanted him around. Mums aren't the same.... Especially when you're living with them and you're over 30!
Trish - go you and your business!
Amber - get that laptop girl!
Xx
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so sorry for mistakes!!
Bummer Jules i guess it would cost fair bit to post them over.
Yay for having you house back, i bet Charlie just loves it over there :)
Trish that's what i plan on doing, not sure if i'll goto the caulfield or berwick one tho.
Mo - oh no! I wish I was closer as I have heaps of baby things you can have. They were mostly from L (poor M gets most of L's hand-me downs).
Ange - I'll be watching for your BA. I hope DH makes the birth in time. Is he coming from PNG?
Trish, Jules, Amber - hi ladies!
Speaking of giving things away I have donated all my pregnancy clothes to charity - so can't have another baby as I will have nothing to wear LOL. I have also donated most of the kid's nursery toys to their daycare. I like the idea of a new generation of kids getting use of them. I'm on a major decluttering program atm. I finally threw out uni lecture notes from 15 years ago!
Things are pretty quiet here. Just work, daycare, housework and sleep. Looking forward to the long weekend, not that we are doing anything (yet).
Time for my weekly bump.
Ange i hope Jellyfish makes an entrance soon, you must be so over it.
I found a picture of S & K when Amber came down & we met at the playcentre. I forgot how chubby S was,. She looked so cute with her red hair & chubby cheeks,
Trish how's life treating you? I saw your sister had her baby. Must be nice getting newborn cuddles again.
Amber miss you
Saffi did you end up doing anything for the long weekend?
Hi ladies.
Yep Saffi , he's coming from PNG. He wasn't coming until I was in labour, but I phoned him today and said I couldn't do it anymore and he needs to come now!
L has croup, isn't sleeping. I keep vomitting, I've lost 4 kgs in 2 weeks. S is an absolute nightmare ATM. If you look up terrible twos in the dictionary, I'm pretty site you'll see her devilish grin looking at you. :wall:
Mum and dad are never here and I am slowly sinking, so DH managed to get flights for sat. Hellla-freaking-luuuuya!
How are the girls Mo? Better?
Ange - glad to hear that DH will be there soon. Just hold on a little longer. Sounds like things are pretty tough at the moment. :comfort:
Mo - I had a pretty good long weekend. Saturday afternoon I went shopping by myself, bought some clothes for me, had a coffee and a cupcake uninterrupted while reading a trashy mag. HEAVEN!! Sunday and Monday we had play dates with the kids which was nice.
Trish - congrats on the arrival of your niece.
Nothing happening here. Very boring........
Awww Ange
K is going through the same stage but i'm so glad your Dh is on his way over.
Will he have to go back earlier once bubs is born? Are you going to have a S&S done next OB visit or will you just wait it out?
Maddi has mild Asthma, she doesn't get the wheezing but she gets the uncontrollable coughing, she's on the ventolin for another 10 days & if we can't wean her off it then she needs to go on a preventive.
Saffi sounds like a lovely long weekend
Congrats again Ange she is perfect & i can't wait to meet her x
Yeah.... Congrats ange and family! Welcome Penelope xxxx
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so sorry for mistakes!!
how annoying, i was almost finnished my post and then i lost it...................
i'll try and recap.
Tyron is well, he was sick a few weeks ago, started with a throat infection and then turned into a chest infection, was really dehydrated, didnt eat for a week, it was horrible, but he is back on track again now. Nixon is good, i had a call yesterday to make an interview time in August for the school he is going to next year, wow my little boy is getting ready for school! He was 5 in April so tecnically could have gone this year but glad i held him back, he wasnt ready but i can already see he will be ready come feb next year.
dh is away at the moment, day 2 of 3 weeks, so ask me in another week or so how things are going lol! he works in Entertainment, doing freight logistics so bringing in Bands equptment when they tour, mostly in and out of oz so does little interstate trips, but a guy o/s in charge broke his arm a few weeks ago so Trent got called up to do Kylie's tour around Asia..... he is going perth/singapore/hong kong/manilla a bunch of other places and still not confirmed maybe south africa!! exhausting for him, exhausting for me trying to work out babysitting for when i have to work..... almost makes it impossible for me to work if we didnt have family support to help us out.
well thats us, like i seem to always say i will keep more updated lol!
oh and is JM Ange?? i seen on FB yesterday she had her gorgeous baby girl Penelope!! congratulations guys she is adorable
Nic it's nice to hear from you & yep that's Ange :D
Ange how's life with 3 little princesses?
Not much happening here, but i did have some bleeding yesterday so went to the hospital & Bambi is fine. They don't know why i had the bleed but as long as i don't get any contractions then i've just got to rest.
Which would be way easier if i didn't have 2 kids to look after, but it's only spotting now & she is still moving around heaps :)
This pregnancy has not been easy for me, with the severe m/s & all the bleeds i've had. I've not had a chance to enjoy it.
I haven't brought anything for her yet as i'm a little afraid something will happen.
Only 14 and half more weeks....
Still nothing interesting happening here.
I think M will be an artist when she gets older, she loves drawing! She draws people, dinosaurs, rainbows, with grass, sun & a tree with a swing.
You can actually tell what her pictures are most times, she also tries so hard to colour between the lines it's so cute.
Kodi is doing well, tho she is well & truly going through the terrible two stage & making life difficult.
We took the girls to the city on Sun, we caught the train in & both girls thought it was great. We ended up going to the Museum so M could see the Dinosaurs, She is obsessed with them at the moment. We have read that many books & seen that many movies about them it's not funny.
Hope everyone is doing well :D
Hi everyone
Mo - I've been meaning to post, but been really slack. This pregnancy hasn't been easy on you. I can only imagine how stressful and worrying it must be. Easier said than done to rest when you have 2 very active girls to look after.
Had the day off work today as M has gastro. We went to a b'day party on the weekend, we gave a gift and they gave us gastro. Actually it was a guest at the party not the hosts so can't blame them. The party was at our next door neighbour's and they have also caught it as the Dad spent the whole day washing and drying clothes and bedding. We seem to have got off lightly with only M coming down with it and not too bad at that. Anyway, I think at this stage she'll be going to daycare and me to work tomorrow.
Nothing much else happening. The kids are growing way too fast. M's vocab is amazing. I swear she is ahead of where L was at the same age. She's got a bit of a temper to her and is very strong willed. L is great. He's such an adorable little guy, although I am getting a bit frustrated with the constant "whys?" .
How is everyone? Is there anyone else out there other than Mo and I?
Hey chickies! I'm here, I just keep forgetting to come in and say hi
Saffi - Bummer about M having gastro, I hate when people have to share it grrrrr.... She sounds like she's going well though, Alana has a great vocab too, it must be a girl thing, we love to talk LOL! And I hear you on the stubborness and strong willedness!
Mo - Sorry you've had such a rough time this pregnancy . M sounds so clever with her drawing! K has only just worked out how to draw a "person" We went to the museum a few weeks ago too for the same reason, K LOVES dinosaurs! They had a ball exploring everything, and it's so cheap!
AFU - All is well. It's school hols so I have Joel home too and he's keeping me so busy! The weather is terrible so I have to try and keep all three of them entertained indoors most of the time. We're having a lot of fun though doing puzzles, playing Go Fish, baking, etc. K is going great, he's a really cute, funny little dude :D. He loves having Joel home to play with him, although he and Alana have a ball playing together too. They're all so cute, I love them all to bits :).
Business has been going fantastically, it's keeping me nice and busy. Umm...not sure what else I can update you all with! I'm pretty boring really
I hope everyone is well!
I'm here... But boring!
We just got back from London for my cousins wedding.... We came back with colds.... Well max and I. We've had lovely weather lately, but today it randomly bucketed down.... Must be Like living in Melbourne!! Lol!
I'm really sad as our tenants at home are moving out. They were renting privately direct with us, and they were so easy to deal with. I got pics of the house sent to me today and it made me homesick :(
Darcie is coming up 14 months and is also starting with her words.... Her will is also strong.... Such a tanti chucker... She is funny and sweet... And totally adores max.
Hugs mo...trish, saffi, amber, nic, kel (who I haven't seen around here for yonks), ange xx love to you all
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so sorry for mistakes!!
Saffi i'm trying not to worry, she moves heaps so i keep telling myself she is fine but i've been spotting/bleeding for ages now & it's getting kinda annoying.
I'd love to know what's causing it. I keep thinking maybe it's my plug as it always regenerates it self.
I'll ask my OB when i see him in 2wks.
Trish looks like you & the kiddies have been having a great time with all the crafty things you keep posting on FB.
Trish she is a great little drawer, My mum loved drawing when she was younger she'd spend hours doing it so i really think Maddi gets it from her, it's nice to know that even tho she's not around that she still passed something on to Maddi.
Kodi has a bubbly personality & so did my Mum so i wonder what Bambi will get.
Maybe they'll share a birthday. Mum was born 21st of Sept so it's possible they'll share that.
Jules bummer about your tenants moving out, hope your able to find some nice ones & it's not too stressful.
Wow 14 months already it goes way too quickly!!
It would be cool for Bambi to share your mums birthday.....
It's funny seeing things go through family from grandparents. Max is built like my dad..... And Darcie does these looks like my mil. They both have the big beautiful eyes that can pull it off too!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so sorry for mistakes!!
Just gonna copy & paste.
I had some bleeding again last night & here is what happened.
They got me in nice & early this morning. I'm glad i don't go on Thursdays it's so busy & there was no parking.
Anyways, i'm starting to dilate but he said it's normal being my 3rd pregnancy, he couldn't see any reason for the bleeding but if i have any more bleeds then i need to go for an U/S. Otherwise my cervix looks normal for 28wks & a 3rd pregnancy :)
Bambi is fine & measuring on dates with a lovely strong HB.
My Iron levels are dropping fast & at this rate i'll need another infusion before i give birth because if i hemorrhage again then i'll have no way to build my blood count back up without an Transfusion or 2.
My Vit D levels are even lower & i have to take twice the dose of Vit D & Bambi will need some after birth as well because it will have an effect on her.
My GTT results were. 4.2, 6.6 & 6.1 so all completely normal.
I see him again next week & then fortnightly, till 36wks & then weekly visits.
Time is going to go a lot faster now!
Man Mo . How stressful for you! You make sure you take it easy as much as you can. I hope things become a little less dramatic for you, you poor thing .
Oh hugs mo...how stressful for you x
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so sorry for mistakes!!
Things are going well here, no more bleeding & i'm really hope that is it.
Less than 80 days to go now & that's if i make it full term. She is still transverse & it's really annoying, i can not wait till she turn head down & stays that way.
Is anyone here still FB friends with Kimbaz?
Hey Mo, glad the bleeding has stopped, fingers crossed it stays that way! Have you looked at the Spinning Babies website to find ways to help move bub? You probably don't need to worry about it just yet, but thought I'd ask JIC. I'm not friends on FB with Kimbaz any more, why do you ask?
All is good with me, school and kinder are back this week so it's back to normal!
Yep i've looked Trish & i've tried that & i also did a BB Search & did some of the other things people suggested.
She is just very stubborn. My OB isn't concerned yet but i just want her to move.
I have this horrible fear she wont move & i'll need a c-sect. I know she has plenty of time to move still but i guess the longer she stays like this the more is start thinking the worst.
Stupid i know.
Kim popped up as a FB friend suggestion, I was just wondering if anyone here was still her friend.
Glad everything is going well with you, must be nice to things back to normal :)
Mo - great that the bleeding has stopped. ONLY 80 days to go - I don't know about you but this pregnancy seems to have been going forever. Hopefully she'll turn for you.
Trish - I saw on FB some of the craft your kids have been doing. Very creative!
My son is a typical male hypochondriac! He had a few loose stools the other night and the next morning he was complaining of a sick tummy. So not risking taking him to DC just to get a call at work to come get him we both stayed home. Well, he "recovered" so quickly! But we both had a nice day at home together and even made cupcakes in the afternoon which he was so excited about.
So completely random question.
If i was to buy a bulk freezer pack from the butchers, how long would the meat stay fresh for?
1 month, 2 months????
It would be stored in a chest freezer.
Second question.
I'm still undecided if we should spend $270 on capsule that will only be used for 6 months but will be easier when bubs is a newborn or spend $170 & buy M the Hi Liner & put Bambi straight into carseat.
WWYD?
Saffi it's only 77 days if i go to my EDD ;). I Will not go pass my EDD i flat out refuse to go pass it lol
I know i don't really have much choice but i'm really hoping she comes earlier rather than later. I don't know how i would cope going over my EDD.
Mo - Beef, lamb and chicken can be frozen for up to 12 months. Ham up to 6 months. HTH! Bummer you sold me that capsule ages ago, it would have come in handy now!! Talk to me about capsules in a PM if you want :). It's a tough one trying to decide and get the best value for money!
Saffi - Glad you had a nice relaxing day with L :). We had to do crafty stuff over the school hols because it was so wet and cold outside! We had a lot of fun though, the boys were proud to give their corner bookmarks to their teachers this week. Joel's teacher wants the instructions so she can make them for the class!
Looking forward to my mum visiting this morning, she'll help entertain K and A. I'm so tired this week, it will be nice to have someone else around :)
Thanks Trish so it would be worth buying it then if it stays fresh that long.
Another ? do i have to store it in a special bags so they don't get freezer burn?
Yea this whole Capsule Vs Carseat is doing my head in, The capsule we are looking at getting is the strider plus one as we have the pram so it would be easier for that reason. It's a lot of money for something that would only be used for a short amount of time & i don't even know if the re sale on them is good.
I'll send you an PM i think :D
Just replied to your PM, should have read your above post first though LOL. I just did an eBay search on Strider capsules and there is big demand for them! They sell second hand anywhere from $150-$250, so from a resale point of view, they're not bad :D. If you do buy one, keep EVERYTHING - the box, instructions, infant inserts, etc. and you are likely to get a very good price for it. People love anything that comes with the original box, etc ;)
As for freezing meat, I'd just wrap it a couple of times in Glad Wrap, that's all I do. The only times I've had freezer burn is when it wasn't wrapped tight enough and it came open in the freezer.
Trish now you've just confused me even more
I'll talk to Phil & he might just have to decide for me as now i have no idea at all!
Does your Capsule have all the inserts with it?
Sorry to confuse you!! Mine doesn't have the newborn insert, but I didn't use one for Alana, so you can get away without it.
Leave it up to Phil, it will be easier
What booster seat do you use with J? We saw the Hi Liners & they look really good & Maddi can easily fit in one because she is so tall.
Do you know if the Hi liners are good?
I don't know much about them unfortunately. J is in a Maxi Rider without the inbuilt harness. Although I'll be moving him to just a little block-type booster seat soon.
M has almost outgrown the maxi rider harness, So i guess just upgrading her to booster would be a more logical choice.
Anyways Thanks for the help Trish x
You can use the Maxi Rider until she's 7 :). You just remove the inbuilt harness (it tucks away under the seat cover) and use it as a normal booster seat. It should have an anti-submarine clip and a seat belt locator thingy tucked away under the seat cover. It's also compatible to use with the Safe N Sound Protecta harness :). That's why I love Maxi Riders!
