Quick question how often should Ryan be pooping? He seems to drop the most massive steamer once a day but I was under the impression he was meant to be going a fair bit more? Lots and lots of wees
Hi All,
just offically coming into the baby buddies group lol!
oh crap sorry Claire i forgot about your bday yesterday Happy birthday!! hope you had a lovely day, what agreat bday pressie you got too!
Congrats Celtic & Leah and everyone else who recently gave birth.
we came home yesterday, our first night went pretty well. he slept a lot better then what he has been in hospital, maybe Tyron was just giving us a night off lol!
so basically each feed i try at the breast and when that doesnt work he gets EBM in a bottle. the after the feed i have to express my rock hard bb's. Ive got such a great supply its a shame the little monster hates boobies. I got that on video yesterday because he will never beleive me on his 21st lol!
ive got lots of mixed emotions about the feeding issues. Im will to keep trying for as long as i can but have to realise he just may never want my boobs. Expressing doesnt take long atm but its the sterilizing and extra time the whole routine takes and looking after Nixon aswell.
DH is home for the next 2 weeks so going to work hard to getting it together b4 he has to go back to work.
Nic - It must be hard on you hun xx I'm having trouble here without the added stress of sterilising and expressing. Jules is back to work tomorrow and I'm afraid!!! I'm going to have to get into bed once Emily is asleep at 7pm to get enough sleep in before she wakes up at 6am ish. Without decent sleep I'm quite grumpy and I want us to have a good first day alone together......I'm going to be exhausted though!
Well the MIL goes home on Wednesday morning. On the whole it's been great having her here, she has helped SO much with the housework and minding Em. She only stepped out of line twice and both times I had to say something but putting that aside it's been a good experience. I don't think she will be coming to stay with us though in her old age......I can't stand the drinking! And only one hen can rule the roost and that would be me!!
Claire great pics.
Celtic, i am pretty sure the amount of poo can vary alot, some babies poo every nappy change and some only poo once every few days. If bub is bottle fed they can get constipation, so you need to make sure they poo once a day at least. But i am nooooo expert......... but i think once a day is ok. HTH.
Nic- great pics too, love the one of nixon and tyron. CUTE!
Mo- How good is the weather today?!
I know, shame it's too hot to goto the beach.
Did u go out today?
Hi everyone!
Well my DD was born yesterday at 4:59am. Chelsea Monique Amber, so I guess I will now be joining you guys in this thread. I wrote all about my labour in the Octo thread if anyone is interested!
Got home this afternoon from hossy, so glad I only had to spend 1 night there! So far she has been very good, bottle feeding, but doing great.
How is everyone else here?
hi girls!
Wow this group is going to be huge! all these bubbys born in october! or as ange says yay octo-babies!
ange those expos are dangerous hey! i am wanting to put myles in MCNs so have to do some hunting to find the best ones!
celtic welcome to the group! Congrats on little ryan!
claire great pics! you look so relaxed!
lizzy ha i love booby piglet! Myles is the same a real guzzler! What a beautiful name you have chosen for your princess! dont you just love the leaking boobs!
becky welcome to you and chelsea what a cute name!
nickers! your little man is soo cute! Enjoy your time with DH at home!
peta oh you poor thing hope your cs stitches heal soon rest up!
mo ooh beach sounds nice! except its quite cool up here in brissy!
ursula hope maddi doesnt get the chicken pox! im sure she would be fine but its so hard not to worry!
belle hopws was you night without dh! its really hard being by yourself hey! Dh leaves at 1.30am everynight so he has to be in bed by 6ish, so it makes it hard even just having someone to give you a cuddle when you need one!
sorry if i missed anyone!
Well myles has been feral the last couple of days! just not settling and screaming his head off! nothing will help, rocking him feeding him driving him just doesnt work! we are so very close to getting a dummy but i am trying to be really firm about it! hoping its just a stage and he will get better! his eye is still yucky so going to head to the child health nurse today and see what they think!
better go he is finally asleep might be able to get some washing done!
xo
Gee Amber up and doing the washing at 7am, I AM IMPRESSED, i just dragged my ar$e outta bed and its 10am!
The decision to dummy or not to dummy is a hard one for me too. We havn't needed one as yet, but i do have one stashed in case of emergency. My sleep is very important to me!
I learnt that the sucking action either on boob, bottle or dummy encourages peristalsis in bubs intestine. (the action that moves all the waste along and out) So they are not all bad! I also think that you can always take a dummy away, but if they suck their thumb you can't really take that away!
Hope that eye clears up soon. poor little tyke!
Hi Becky, congrats on your new little girl, will have to go and read up on your birth.
Mo- went to the st kilda market with my mum yesterday, wandered around had a brunch and did a bit of shopping, very civilised! Luella loves the sling. BF in public all day, only flashed my big hooters to a few unsuspecting coffee drinkers! Man its hard to wrestle the puppies out, put her on, and not flash a little! I did forget to put breast pads in at one stage and leaked two nice big circles, LMAO. Live and learn.
Hope your day with Emily went well Claire. Did you get enough sleep. Man, i have no idea how i will cope with a NB AND a toddler, hats off to you ladies with more than one.
Well i just want to announce that i can now sneeze without incident! :confetti:
How are all the other sleep deprived mum's going?
yeah i was always against the whole dummy idea but end up giving Nixon one, he still has one for bedtime now, i was planning on taking it away before Tyron was born but he's still a baby himself. Maybe Santa will exchange it at xmas time! I have realised they arnt all that bad, hey whatever works!! Ive tried Tyron on one already mainly to see if he would suck on it cause he wont suck on me and he liked it. but trying not to just give it to him much just yet.
and Nixon wants his more the last few days, but i dont want to upset the apple cart with him too much its a big adjustment and i expect him to take a few steps back until he gets used to the next environment.
Claire i agree your pics are great and u do look so relaxed, what an amazing birth and i look forward to hearing all about it when we catch up sometime!
Its great that your MIL has been a help to you. my whole inlaws have stayed away this time around which is bizzare because we were in melb last time so they couldnt be around, now they can and they arnt. DH rekons we are too far away its only a 30min drive from where they all live.
One of his sisters hasnt even met Tyron yet nor rung me or DH, she sent him a text to say she was busy last week and will catch up soon, pretty pathetic effort i think, but her loss not ours.
hi Bekcy and congratulations on Chelsea's arrival!
mum is coming over soon and taking me and the boys to see my nan. she is on her last days and i want her to meet (even though she wont even know we were there) Tyron for probably the first and last time. she has been in a ome for 5 yrs and been it this spot many times before. but she cannot even swallow water or anything now so i know it will be soon. Its terribly sad but she has been extremley ill for many yrs now and she really just needs some peace, she is 88 so done pretty well to get so far.
We have given Maddi a dummy, mainly because she get so upset some times & just wants something to suck. She only gets when she wont settle & I've tried everything to get her to settle.
Welcome Becky on congrats on Chelsea's arrival.
Ange yay for sneezing without incident & must of been hot down at St.Kilda or was it nice & cool with the ocean breeze? I've done the breast pad thing myself, Looks very classy lol.
Finally got two photos of bubs up for those that want to see my little man, he's been soo good today I wish he was this good at night!

Hello mommies!!!!
Ya'll are chatterboxes! It's good to see everyones wee ones doing so well and the ticker picca's are adorable!
Elijah is doing well. I have the pleasure of another reflux baby so sometimes things get a little messy, though atleast I know what to expect and what to do about it. Poor li'l guy gags and wretches and everything:( If it doesn't settle on its own with the reflux formula my GP wants to try meds, so fingers crossed it doesn't come to that!
K well I'm off - boy is wanting food:)
I'll upload some pics in the gallery for anyone who wants a look-see.
ETA - CM Ryan is gorgeous!! And they are always better during the day;) LOL
Hi all
Well, had a bit of a rough night! LOL. Nothing too major, Chelsea just did not want to settle. She is perfect during the day! Just sleeps, she's and angel, but nighttime seems like she wants to party! Will be working on changing that!
I dont see the problem with dummies either! If it helps, why not?
love the pics Celtic he is gorgeous ofcourse! he's got a fair amount of hair also!
becky i hope Chelsea is a little more settled for you tonight then last night
Hi Sarah- oh i know what you are going through with a reflux baby, Nixon was. hoping Tyron doesnt develop into it.
Hi guys, and welcome to all the new Octo-babies, and octo-mummies!
Theo had his first official weigh in today. He's 18 days old, and he's put on 440g, and grown 3 cm!
Hey
Chels has been so good today! I think she has been awake for about a total of an hour! LOL. ALl she has done is slept! Lets hope she keeps it up for tonight! Although I doubt it! We were going to try and keep her awake a bit this arvo to make her sleep tonight, but its hard keeping a 2 day old baby awake! If they want to sleep, they sleep!
This thread is going to be huge by the time all the Octo babies are born!
Hey everyone!!
There are some pics of Chelsea on my totsites home page if anyone is interested!!
Backy Chelsea is a little cutie :)
Qhi that's great about Theo's weight gain
Celtic Ryan is gorgeous.
I can't believe Maddi is 4 weeks old today.
Afternoon...........................is it bedtime yet???????
Mo - I can't believe 4 weeks has passed already....love the new photo
Welcome to Celtic and Becky - have checked out all photos and both babies are gorgeous. Hats off to you Becky for being home and online so soon after Chelsea's birth.....Did you get a good night's sleep???
Qhi - Well done to Theo on his weight gain and growth, had you noticed him growing out of his clothes???
Waves to all the other mummies and bubbies - will catch up on personals when brain is at functioning speed.....
Someone mentioned dummies (sorry too lazy to scroll and find out) we are using a dummy cos like Mo said our Maddison likes to comfort suck and we kept giving her top ups on milk plus she is very windy and doesn;t like to burp so using the dummy stops her from gulping air. Only problem we had is that her mouth is so small she was gagging on all the dummies we tried (practically every brand on the market) eventually we found out she is content with the el cheapo dummies Happy Soothers - so whatever works I say!!!
Feeling quite tired today although Maddi slept well her mother did not!!! Plus today is Mandy's first day back at work...feeling bit like I can't let my guard down and am alert to every sound. Atleast when Mandy comes home I can go have a snooze.
On another note went and bought Maddi and I a baby bjorn air carrier yesterday - oh so comfortable - and used it this morning when we walked James to school. Maddison stayed asleep the whole time and it was so much easier than getting the pram out of the car.
Hello mums and bubs!
Glad to see everyone is doing well, despite all the sleep deprivation ;) It's great to see some Oct 16-31 graduates here too! :D
India is doing beautifully - she's consistently sleeping for 3-5 hours between feeds at night now which is wonderful. Love those extra zzz's!
Re. dummies - we have a couple sitting in the drawer but have refrained from using them thus far. Indie seems to need some extra sucking time between feeds so I'm thinking of using them, but want to hold off as long as possible so she doesn't get *nipple confusion* LOL
Speaking of nipples, my little milk vampire is crying for another fix so I've gotta run! :p
hi girls and bubbas!
Just a quick one! I Have posted the link to Myles newborn shots on his webapge which is in my signature, if anyone wants a squiz!
We have had a great day Myles bypassed feral arvo today which was great and now he is back asleep, hopefully for annother couple of hours so mummy can rest too!
So must be off! Cuddles to all the bubs and especially the mummies!
xo
Just a quick hello!
All the bubs are adorable :)!! And they all look a little different, which I think is SO cute!
We have given Kaylee a dummy, same reasons as mentioned by others... She seams to really like the dummy now she is getting the hang of it. Is a must when she just won't settle at 3am!!
Anyways - still on strict 'rest' instructions, and on night duty... so better go rest! DH is going to cook steak for me for dinner, yum :)!
Amber the photo shots look great, we got some of Maddi done at the hospital should get them back this week or next week.
Peta Kaylee looks very cute in her new pics :)
Well this little piggy has put on almost 1kg since she was born, not even 4 weeks! She has gone from 2.6kg to 3.5kg! She's a feeding machine!
Have i said this or just thought it............ funny how you go from showing off your bump to madly trying to hide what is left of it! I have no clothes that fit. have a hens day on sat, thinking of wearing a potato sack to cover lard ar$e!
Well have perused all the photos, and we have a whole lot of spunky bubs in the Octo-babies club.
Lost mobile yeaterday, so back to shops today to try and find it. Old placenta brain never leaves ya!
Hope you are all well xxx
Hi all,
Amber loved the pics!
Peta- yeah good and bad noing being able to do things. its tougher with another toddler after a c/s but we're getting there, dh has just taken Nix out for a while so ive got some quiet time!
wow go Luella on the weight gain! i agree with the bump and clothes thing. I have a wedding to go into a 1 1/2weeks NFI what i will wear.....
anyway i mentioned a few days ago i went to see my nan. i was able to get Tyron's first and only shot with his great grandmother as she passed away about 8.30am thismorning aged 88.
Its very ironic that she held on long enough to meet my boy and passed on his due date.
Its very sad but she has been very ill for a long long time and now she can finally rest in peace and watch down on us. My poor pop though for the last 5yrs his life has been visiting her at the home every day, i really dont know how he will cope without that. they had their 65th wed annaversary in August.
Tyron is doing pretty well through the night also 4-6 hrs we seem to get cant complain about that.
Belle pleased to hear India is stretching out her feeds through the night for you. Those extra zzzz's really do help with everything don't they???
Amber those photos of Myles are beautiful - lovely treasures of his first weeks of life. I really must get some done of Maddison - might try to do some myself with the 'ol digital....
Ange - Woohoo on the weight gain for Luella, you must be happy to know that she is doing so well....Hope you are able to find your mobile phone.
Nic - Ooh I'm jealous of those night time sleep hours, a possible 6 hours in a row would be lovely. Hope that you are healing well and not over doing it either although I understand that it must be difficult at times with a toddler. How is Nixon doing, bet he just adores Tyron. Deepest sympthonies for your loss Nic, so glad that you were able to introduce Tyron to her.
We are both doing well here - Maddison is becoming faster with her feeds and majority of the time is finished in 30-40 mins which makes a big difference to the hour we had been doing. She is also starting to smile rather than the windy grin we know and love and she is definately responding to her environment - we caught her chatting to her purple teddy yesterday with excited leg and arm movements, must try and catch that on video was soooo cute..
Big hugs to all mums and bubs....
Nic so sorry for your lose, but it's great she got to meet Tyron before she passed.
Ange great news about Luella's weight gain & hope you find ur phone.
Ursula great news about Maddi's feed's being shorter & how cute talking to her teddy.
We had Maddi's picture taken in hospital for a newspaper(for a BA), we finally got the paper with her picture in it, she looked so cute :D
Most important woo hoo :happyforyou:
Rochelle arrived this morning at 9.16, i posted in out belly buddies thread the details......
second woo hoo- I FOUND MY PHONE! Yay for me. IT was in Myer's chngerooms where i left it! It is my lucky day!
Hi Mummas,
Glad to hear all bubbas seem to be doing well and what newborns are supposed to do LOL, keep us awake at night!
Amara has settled more at night and has given up the party scene thank goodness, she has been going 4 hours at night which is better.
She only lost 20 grams from her birthweight in her first week so it will be interesting to see how much she has gained when I go for her next weigh on the 30th. She is still a Booby Piglet.
Had my first outing out with 2 kids by myself today - to the park and all went fine. Amara slept and Eliza was being really silly at first but then she seemed to come good. As well as the new baby she was/is going through a challenging phase. Preschool tomorrow, so she will have some extra fun. Hopefully Friday we will visit my Mum, whom Eliza adores so the rest of the week should be nice.
Eliza & Amara's great grandfather visited last Friday, he is 90, he wouldn't hold Amara cos she said she is too small LOL!
She is asleep now so I might go and rest myself since hubby has taken Eliza to the library.
Oh and re: dummies
We too give one to Amara when she is unsettled but only at night. Eliza had one too but only for sleeps, never during awake time. It worked well for us and she gave it up last Christmas no worries at all. We told her Santa needed it for the baby elves. She has never asked for it again. And we also use Happy Baby, I was told to use them by my lactation consultant as they are the closest to boobies.
Sleepy dust to all the bubbas,
Hello Mummies and bubbies!
Firstly congrats to Catherine and Danny! Well done on a quick birth, cant wait to see some pics! Welcome Rochelle!:confetti:
Mo cant wait to see the pics of Maddi! Congrats on making her a star in the paper!
Ange I am sure you could put some sparkles on your potato sack to make it pretty!ha! I know what you mean about trying to hide the belly you were once so proud of! I dont think anyone even looks at me anymore there too busy with Myles, so i just let it all hang out!ha!
Nick I am so very sorry for your loss! She obviously wanted to meet your little man! 65yrs of marriage is wonderfull, i hope DH and I can do that!:hugs:
Ursula Arent those smiles just gorgeous when you know there not gas!haha! Thats great that Maddis feeds are getting shorter, maybe she will be a quick drinker long sleeper!
Leah great to hear that Amara is not being a party animal anymore! Isnt your Grandad cute not wanting to hold her cause she was too small! My great uncle was the same!
peta glad to see your still resting and Kaylee is doing well
Well it was a better night last night, cant say much about the afternoon though! He is still having his feral arvos! He slpet for 5 1/2 hrs last night which was wonderfull! Today is DH and mine 4yr wedding anniversary yay! But there will be no romanitc dinner or presents just time together with our little man! I think thats a good enough present!
A quick question about bubbas soft spot! Myles seems to sink in then out occasionally is this normal? It can become quite sunken but when he cries its normal! Its kinda freaking me out a little!:dunno:
Cuddles to mummies and bubbies!
Just a quick hello... yes I'm still resting, well trying to without going stir-mad!
Today is my first day home alone all day with Kaylee and no help... so far so good :)!
After the 8am feed I had hoped to go back to bed, after being up for a good part of the night with Kaylee = but she had different ideas, just didn't want to settle. So after a couple of top-ups I put her in the sling and she finally went to sleep - too scared to move her now. But have managed to get a few things done with her in the sling, including getting the kitchen cleaned up! Hopefully I will get a nap later, if she will let me... Otherwise, plan to spend most the day on the couch with her in front of the TV, can't do much else = must rest arg!
Amber - congrats on your 4-year anniversary! It's our 3-year anniversary on 21st Nov... As for Myles' spft spot, I would keep an eye on it - the midwife said if it sinks in it can be a sign of dehydration - is he getting enough liquid?? Otherwise, I have no idea!
Kaylee makes lots of noises in her sleep, does anyone else's baby??
Sometimes I find it hard to sleep at night when she is sleeping because of the noises - mum thinks she might be having bad dreams :(
Nic - hope everything is ok for you and you heal quickly! I have been told I will most likely have to have a c/s if I have another bubs = so think I would rather be booked in than go through what I did this time... but would be doing with a toddler = have told Steve he will need to take at least a month off next time! He isn't so sure he wants a next time atm, hasn't got over seeing me go through everything I did this time...
Anyways - must go rest.
Hugs and lots of love to all the mummies and gorgeous bubbies!
Hello ladies.
I am supposed to be in the November group, but due to pre-eclampsia, had to have bub earlier by 3 weeks.
Things are going well. BFing is pretty good except he gets the nipple in his mouth and doesn't know it is there so moves his head from side to side trying to find it! Once he is on he is fine and slurps like a trooper, but he gets so frustrated when he can't find it.
Other than that, agree with you on the blues side of things. On the one hand I am so happy he is here with us and we just love him so so much. On the other I am terrified of all the bad things in the world that could harm him. I know I will get over it but they say the first bub is the most overwhelming? It is nice to know others are in the same boat, makes me feel more normal.
We have had some outings, to the doctor to check on my blood pressure and to the shops. DH is so wonderful with him, I can't imagine doing it without him.
Well, I am glad to be a part of this group, hope to share more ideas from here on in.
:)
Hey dragonbub, i had PE too, but developed it at 39 weeks, your little man was a good size considering you had PE and he was 3 weeks early. The blues definately get better. i am feeling 100% on the last couple of weeks. How's your BP, mine's still a bit up and down but generally ok.
Happy anniversary Amber! re: myles soft spot, lu has too uch hair and i never notice it, maybe you notice myles's more b/c he is a cute little bald bub! If you are worried i would call health nurse just to put your mind at ease....
Peta- Lu is a regular snuffleuffagus in her sleep. Carries on like a pork chop, grunting groaning, whimpering, she makes more noise when she's asleep than when she's awake! Now back and rest young lady!
Leah- is Eliza just loving her little sis?
Nic- sorry to hear about your nan :hugs:
Mo- maddi is a star already! woot!
Ursula- thanks for the cyber drinks on facebook, i've been needing them!
Speaking of drinking i have been craving beer!
You'll all be pleased to know my placid bub had a feral afternoon yesterday, squarking every hour to be fed. She's back on track today though! :p
Lucky i have a lap top, what else would i do while feeding her about 8 hours of every day?!
Welcome Dragonbub, congrats on the safe arrival of your Bub
Forgot to add, i am very jelous your babies smile, mine is still a stone face, oh there is sometimes poo-face, and the squark face but no smiley face yet! Not even if there is wind! Darn it.....
happy annaversary amber!! hope you guys had a lovely day!
Hi dragonbub and congrats on your baby! whats his name? Hope your recovering well.
Peta- yep i hear you on the c/s when you already have a toddler! its very difficult with Nixon only 18months and not being able to lift him. i must admit i have already picked him up gently a few times, i didnt really have an option he woke and wanted to get out of bed today and DH had gone out and wasnt back yet. i think the 6 weeks is a bit of overkill but gotta keep reminding myself it hasnt even been 2 weeks yet!
My nan's funeral is tomorrow so MIL is coming to mind Nixon. we just think it would be beatter and easier on us if he didnt come, he is too young to know remember and understand and she offered so we accepted.
i havent found time for a nap today, when both the boys are down instead of resting i take the op to get things done. Nixon is running amok atm and just pulling out EVERYTHING... so been trying to re organise things that he cannot get too.
ah it used to be nice to have a change table with all the stuff u need in it creams powder etc, cannot have them there now Nix can reach everything and sick of chasing him for them!
Q: is anyone NOT using huggies those that are in sposies? Tyron seems to keep wetting through them, dunno if im not putting them on right (although i think i have enough nappy experience!) twice today he was weed through all up his back and it seems to have happened a number of times in the last few days...
hope everyone is well
nic - i'm using infant babylove on Eli atm and havent had any issues cept the occasional 3am nappy change thats not quite done tight enough/high enough.
Eli was out of huggies newborn in like a week - they looked uncomfy n small.
Weighed him yesterday - at exactly 3 weeks he was 5040g. Li'l porker!
anyways time for b-e-d!
I love Maddi's smile & she even screws her face up at you if you give her too many kisses lol.
Sarah that's a great weight gain for Eli.
Morning - I had sleep last night for 5 hours straight I feel like a new woman!!!!
Nic - can't help with nappy Q, we using Huggies newborn, but I remember it happening with James back then and I used snugglers and made sure his doodle always pointed down so he couldn't wee upwards. But I don't think snugglers are that good anymore.
Sarah - woot on the weight gain for Elijah....
Welcome Dragonbub - how's the BP going. I had PE with both pregnancies (both bubs early too), bubs is a good size and don't worry abt feeling blue it's all part of the baby deal...
Ange - no probs with the drinks. I might try sending food soon LOL!!! How's your BP - do you have any swelling left, spots in eyes or dizzyness??? I found by week 4 last time was when my body started to go back to normal and leave the high BP symptoms behind.....I'm sure Luella will giving you a beaming toothless grin real soon....
Peta - rest, rest, rest......thank god for the sling in helping our bubs settle.....Maddison spent the majority of Wed in her baby bjorn cos she just wouldn't sleep....How's Kaylee????
Amber - checked out Myles professional photos and all of them are gorgeous, I esp. love the one where Myles and Daddy are looking at each other....
Leah - Yay for Amara leaving the party night life behind, atleast for the next 18 years we hope....nice info abt the Happy Baby dummy as well didn't know that....actually had nurse say yesterday that those dummies are v. popular
Mo - Maddi in the papers already - congrats. Seems both our girls are claiming fame - while Maddison was in hospital they asked if they could bath her and take photos which are being used in their "How to bath a baby phamplet"
Hi to all other mummies!!!!!
Had my clinic nurse visit yesterday - Maddison has put on another 310g she now weighs 3460g and her head circ is 35.5cm. Had a good discussion abt her magic evening hours and poos - she is constipated (which i suspected) so am adding extra 10mls of boiled water to her milk to help soften them. Also discussed that she maybe suffering from silent reflux cos she gags and coughs alot when burping so raising her mattress by 45 degrees and keeping her upright for 15mins after feeds are our first tactic to use. Resolving the constipation is most important and might even help with the reflux. Nurse also suggested offering Maddison 10-30mls of cooled boiled water late at night to help with settling - tried it last night and she drank the water no probs and did the loudest burp ever afterwards and I think that's why she slept for such a long time.
Anyway seems I've written a novel with one hand......Hope we all have a good day with our new bubbies and toddlers or older children...
