Hi Ladies!
I actually posted in the Sept post and this one, but feel like a complete stranger in there and so lost... feel SO much more at home here!! Nice to see everyone doing so well with their lovely bundles of joy :)! Think I might just play in here, as it's too hard keeping up with two threads, and we're almost an Octo baby...
Thank you for all your kind words, I have skimmed through all the posts, but not read in detail... time is just so limited atm!
Well I felt SO great after switching Kaylee to formula, was such a relief, and she is has been thriving ever since. She had grown out of the '0000' and in the '000' now :)!
BUT I overdid it as I was feeling so great, and my c/s 'wound' got infected and I was in horrid pain in the early hours on Thurs morning - mum took me to the Dr on Thursday and he put me on antibiotics and strict rest. So have been 'resting' lots since and thank god for mum and Steve - who have been doing pretty much everything around the house. And mum has even been doing the night feeds so we can catch-up on sleep (one advantage of FF)!
I had planned to use cloth nappies, and still do - but atm she is too small for the ones I have, plus until I am allowed to wash and fully healed it's just too much, it's enough staying on top of the regular washing... will hopefully switch to cloth within 2-3 weeks, when I am more healed and actually allowed to do washing.
Ursula - definitely no more jaundice, she is looking gr8 :)!
Online time very limited atm (mum won't let me on when she is here = 'strict' rest, but she has gone home for the day as DH is here, but will be back tomorrow while he is at work)... hopefully things will settle down soon and I can catch-up with everyone!

Well i just spent 5 hrs at the expo.........exhausted! Mo, obviosly didn't make it yesterday. Hope you had a good time, did you buy much?
i spent a stupid amount on cloth nappies! DH is going to have my guts for garters when he finds out! Also bought a very expensive but AWSOME nappy bag. How could i resist the expo special???
About the nappies Mo, i have a few diff types just to try them out. Kidzincloth fitteds are ace. ( ;) Leah!) bc lu is so small we are using alot of the old fashioned terry flats with some spunky fleece and pul covers. Nappies like Bumgenius, babybehinds are all too big at the moment so can't really comment. i bought about 5 different types today. I think 'the best' really comes down to personal preference, ie if you want a quick drying nappy or an easy to use system, or a nappy that will fit from birth to toilet training...... the cloth nappy thread is full of very helpfull ladies. But ask me as much as you like, and i'll try my best to help!
Nickers- welcome home, hope you are feeling ok.
Ursula- Hope you guys have avoided the chickenpox, that would suck big time!
Peta- Off the computer and REST! ;) hope you are feeling better you poor thing!
Amber- how are you and Myles today?
Belle- how was your night alone?
happygirl- how'd you go with ticker?
Wonder how ninja turtle is going....................

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. DP is holding our little man all snug next to me at the moment. Ryan decided to come out and say hello on the 15th October at 8:43pm, started gettin pains at 1am Sunday, ended up with needin my waters popped, epi and vacuum extraction because of his heartbeat. He's a lil jaundice because of the vacuum extraction and my boobies weren't giving him enough he's now on formula and is going a lot better and sleeping heaps better he's a changed bubby.
Getting some baby blues on and off mostly from needing so much assistance during birth and boobies being *bleeps* but you get that..
Anyways shall leave it here DP wants puters soon lookin forward to gettin to know those I havent met yet and hey to all the belly buddies 16-30st :)
-
:hello: celtic. Nice to meet you and Ryan! Hmmm those baby blues are a nuisance, but i am feeling much less blue this week. (week 3) So hopefully you'll feel better next week!

Ange thanks for the info, the ones i brought yesterday are so big on Maddi, Will have to wait to she's put on more weight & grown some more i think.
I had a good time as well, but the traffic was so bad & it was so busy in the expo.
We could always catch up another time & I added a pic to face book not the best, but it's a pic :D
Peta glad Kaylee is doing better, Maddi still fit's into her 00000's but she's almost into 0000's now..
I also posted in the sept thread, but didn't feel as comfy in there as i do here.
Hope you feel better soon & make sure you rest.
I hope Viv is holding James in her arms now.
Welcom Celtic :D

Ange - I thought there'd be more in here that didn't know me! Lol!
Well I'm typing one handed here! Harry is snuggled up having a cuddle. It was my birthday today and the little darling slept for most of it. Woke for a quick change and feed and went swiftly back off to sleep.
Ursula - Emily is acting out a little but not as much as she could be. I'm going to devise a little home play time table to structure our days a little better so that se doesn't get bored and also gets some one to one attention.
Harry seems to be happy in the sling so that will make life easier. I haven't worn him myself yet as I have a weak back from the separation of my tummy muscles, they are coming back together but it will take some time.
So far thiongs are going well, he is feeding well and slowly getting into a routine of sorts. We are using cloth so I feel like I'm permenatly washing but I'd rather do it every day than every other...

Hi All,
My first visit to the Baby Buddies section! WOOT!
Amara is still asleep, has been since about 7pm, my aching boobies - WAKE UP! I am leaking like nothing else and am walking around with terry flats shoved in my bra.
Well after about 4 nights of partying by young Amara she seems to have figured out night and day :)
We sort of have a routiny thing happening. She is a booby piglet though and only lost 20 grams of weight from birth to day 6.
Eliza loves her and keeps saying "Mummy she is so cute!" LOL
Didn't really get the baby blues this time. I reckon it is due to the fantastic birth I had and coming straight home, I really can't believe how good I feel this time. I wish I had used the Birthing Service last time.
Nappies are going well, I have been using my brand alot and we are liking the Tots Bots Bamboozles and Swaddlebess organic velour - yummo! Cause she is a booby piglet she does not really fit the cute little Kissaluvs I bought her :(
I was also bad and ordered 2 Pink Intensity baby Beehinds Bamboos and a Pink PUL cover and a Raspberry Monkey Doodles! She is my last bubba so I am going all out on the pink LOL!
Booby Piglet wakes, must go...
-
I've uploaded some of my birthing pics into the gallery if anyone would like to see?
-
Claire looked at your pics, looks like you had a great birth experience.
Harry looks like a cutie :)
Leah glad you feel great this time round :)
-
Quick question how often should Ryan be pooping? He seems to drop the most massive steamer once a day but I was under the impression he was meant to be going a fair bit more? Lots and lots of wees
-
Hi All,
just offically coming into the baby buddies group lol!
oh crap sorry Claire i forgot about your bday yesterday Happy birthday!! hope you had a lovely day, what agreat bday pressie you got too!
Congrats Celtic & Leah and everyone else who recently gave birth.
we came home yesterday, our first night went pretty well. he slept a lot better then what he has been in hospital, maybe Tyron was just giving us a night off lol!
so basically each feed i try at the breast and when that doesnt work he gets EBM in a bottle. the after the feed i have to express my rock hard bb's. Ive got such a great supply its a shame the little monster hates boobies. I got that on video yesterday because he will never beleive me on his 21st lol!
ive got lots of mixed emotions about the feeding issues. Im will to keep trying for as long as i can but have to realise he just may never want my boobs. Expressing doesnt take long atm but its the sterilizing and extra time the whole routine takes and looking after Nixon aswell.
DH is home for the next 2 weeks so going to work hard to getting it together b4 he has to go back to work.
-
Nic - It must be hard on you hun xx I'm having trouble here without the added stress of sterilising and expressing. Jules is back to work tomorrow and I'm afraid!!! I'm going to have to get into bed once Emily is asleep at 7pm to get enough sleep in before she wakes up at 6am ish. Without decent sleep I'm quite grumpy and I want us to have a good first day alone together......I'm going to be exhausted though!
Well the MIL goes home on Wednesday morning. On the whole it's been great having her here, she has helped SO much with the housework and minding Em. She only stepped out of line twice and both times I had to say something but putting that aside it's been a good experience. I don't think she will be coming to stay with us though in her old age......I can't stand the drinking! And only one hen can rule the roost and that would be me!!
-
Claire great pics.
Celtic, i am pretty sure the amount of poo can vary alot, some babies poo every nappy change and some only poo once every few days. If bub is bottle fed they can get constipation, so you need to make sure they poo once a day at least. But i am nooooo expert......... but i think once a day is ok. HTH.
Nic- great pics too, love the one of nixon and tyron. CUTE!
Mo- How good is the weather today?!
-
I know, shame it's too hot to goto the beach.
Did u go out today?
-
Hi everyone!
Well my DD was born yesterday at 4:59am. Chelsea Monique Amber, so I guess I will now be joining you guys in this thread. I wrote all about my labour in the Octo thread if anyone is interested!
Got home this afternoon from hossy, so glad I only had to spend 1 night there! So far she has been very good, bottle feeding, but doing great.
How is everyone else here?
-
hi girls!
Wow this group is going to be huge! all these bubbys born in october! or as ange says yay octo-babies!
ange those expos are dangerous hey! i am wanting to put myles in MCNs so have to do some hunting to find the best ones!
celtic welcome to the group! Congrats on little ryan!
claire great pics! you look so relaxed!
lizzy ha i love booby piglet! Myles is the same a real guzzler! What a beautiful name you have chosen for your princess! dont you just love the leaking boobs!
becky welcome to you and chelsea what a cute name!
nickers! your little man is soo cute! Enjoy your time with DH at home!
peta oh you poor thing hope your cs stitches heal soon rest up!
mo ooh beach sounds nice! except its quite cool up here in brissy!
ursula hope maddi doesnt get the chicken pox! im sure she would be fine but its so hard not to worry!
belle hopws was you night without dh! its really hard being by yourself hey! Dh leaves at 1.30am everynight so he has to be in bed by 6ish, so it makes it hard even just having someone to give you a cuddle when you need one!
sorry if i missed anyone!
Well myles has been feral the last couple of days! just not settling and screaming his head off! nothing will help, rocking him feeding him driving him just doesnt work! we are so very close to getting a dummy but i am trying to be really firm about it! hoping its just a stage and he will get better! his eye is still yucky so going to head to the child health nurse today and see what they think!
better go he is finally asleep might be able to get some washing done!
xo

Gee Amber up and doing the washing at 7am, I AM IMPRESSED, i just dragged my ar$e outta bed and its 10am!
The decision to dummy or not to dummy is a hard one for me too. We havn't needed one as yet, but i do have one stashed in case of emergency. My sleep is very important to me!
I learnt that the sucking action either on boob, bottle or dummy encourages peristalsis in bubs intestine. (the action that moves all the waste along and out) So they are not all bad! I also think that you can always take a dummy away, but if they suck their thumb you can't really take that away!
Hope that eye clears up soon. poor little tyke!
Hi Becky, congrats on your new little girl, will have to go and read up on your birth.
Mo- went to the st kilda market with my mum yesterday, wandered around had a brunch and did a bit of shopping, very civilised! Luella loves the sling. BF in public all day, only flashed my big hooters to a few unsuspecting coffee drinkers! Man its hard to wrestle the puppies out, put her on, and not flash a little! I did forget to put breast pads in at one stage and leaked two nice big circles, LMAO. Live and learn.
Hope your day with Emily went well Claire. Did you get enough sleep. Man, i have no idea how i will cope with a NB AND a toddler, hats off to you ladies with more than one.
Well i just want to announce that i can now sneeze without incident! :confetti:
How are all the other sleep deprived mum's going?
-
yeah i was always against the whole dummy idea but end up giving Nixon one, he still has one for bedtime now, i was planning on taking it away before Tyron was born but he's still a baby himself. Maybe Santa will exchange it at xmas time! I have realised they arnt all that bad, hey whatever works!! Ive tried Tyron on one already mainly to see if he would suck on it cause he wont suck on me and he liked it. but trying not to just give it to him much just yet.
and Nixon wants his more the last few days, but i dont want to upset the apple cart with him too much its a big adjustment and i expect him to take a few steps back until he gets used to the next environment.
Claire i agree your pics are great and u do look so relaxed, what an amazing birth and i look forward to hearing all about it when we catch up sometime!
Its great that your MIL has been a help to you. my whole inlaws have stayed away this time around which is bizzare because we were in melb last time so they couldnt be around, now they can and they arnt. DH rekons we are too far away its only a 30min drive from where they all live.
One of his sisters hasnt even met Tyron yet nor rung me or DH, she sent him a text to say she was busy last week and will catch up soon, pretty pathetic effort i think, but her loss not ours.
hi Bekcy and congratulations on Chelsea's arrival!
mum is coming over soon and taking me and the boys to see my nan. she is on her last days and i want her to meet (even though she wont even know we were there) Tyron for probably the first and last time. she has been in a ome for 5 yrs and been it this spot many times before. but she cannot even swallow water or anything now so i know it will be soon. Its terribly sad but she has been extremley ill for many yrs now and she really just needs some peace, she is 88 so done pretty well to get so far.
