hi ladies
i am having mid life crisis thinking about going back to work in 4 weeks and i have decided i want a change of career. I ideally want to work admin in a school so I can get all school holidays off however I am open to anything really. Was thinking of kindergarten teaching but not sure if I would start to hate it after a few years. I figure as I still have over 30 yrs to work I should get into something I really enjoy.
Cindy glad your move went well cant wait to see the house.
Nikki LOL at you also having the re arranging bug, its fun when its all done and looks fantastic
Rach YEAH on Milo riding his bike
So take care everyone

tracey i was your age when i decided i also wanted a job i loved,it is never too late to change and i think that while you are strong in your feelings about this you need to act on it NOW,otherwise if you just let things go you will still be in the same mundane job in another 5 years time.just put a resume out there for everything and anything that looks appealing and see what sought of response you get,it cant harm, only a few knock backs but also the possibilty of a wonderful job that suits your and your families needs.you wont regret trying is all i can say,as for kinder teaching can you go without the second income for a few years.if so then go for it.i went to uni when i was 29,james was 7 and corey was 3.i was lucky cos grants income was enough for us to get by on,i dont regret it at all and if it wasnt for me jumping out there and giving it a go i wouldnt be a nurse and in a job i love now.I can give you a hand with your resume if you like.APPLY FOR EVERYTHING TRACEY,YOU MIGHT BE PLEASANTLY SUPRISED.
alex, thanx again for a great day today,we had a great time.your house is awsome, very child friendly.I still keep thinking about toby standing at the top of the slide.LOL!!!!

Just a really quick update before i try to get tori to bed - we are kind of moved - um, not unpacked at all - we are all really really sick at the moment and so everything is happening really slowly - we have the girls in child care tomorrow though(if they are better) so hopefully we get stuff done!
The house ended up being cleaned but it was still trashed and we wasted our first day here fixing up holes in the walls etc.........
Mum reminded me today that it is my birthday this friday! I cant believe how fast that past 12 months has gone and also how much has happened in that 12 months! All of us have had a massive year!!!
OK, i have to go get tori to bed- they are still in the one room untill i have time and energy to finish painting - OH, i hope the girls are better tomorrow and can go to child care!
-
thanks Nikki yeah I know i have to do it now before it becomes a fleeting thought however i have to go back to work atleast till the end of the year so I will be keeping my eyes open for that ideal job over the xmas holidays and into the new year. I realise now I am not to old to change jobs/careers. I didnt realise you started nursing at 29, thats really motivated me to seriously do this.
Cindy glad the move is going ok hope you guys get better soon though. cant wait to visit you in the new house.

tracey they have a careers expo in melton on the 14th august, maybe you should enquire about it and see what it is about.
Harry has 2 new teeth. We have decided it is time to build our house,we are looking at a display we like on sunday as we realy cant be bothered owner building again. It is a ranch style and has 5 bedrooms,it is hard to find 5 bedroom homes now so hopefully it will be in our budget and we can go for it.Tracey we are going to the club in caroline springs sat night for tea if you guys want to join us,i think that grant will really like jamies funny sence of humour, let me know we will prob go at about 6pm.
-
Nikki - thats a bit exciting. Do you think you will build in Melton?
Tracey - you've never too old. I am seriously thinking of changing careers after bub number 2 (no, no news to share) and studying teaching.
Cindy - yay I am glad you are in, its terrible about the walls though. Were they like that when you did your first inspection, or were they covered so that you could not see them.
My GF is a property laywer and she said stuff like that the onus is on the buyer to prove that it was not in that condition when they inspected the house and agreed to buy it (i.e. signed the contract) so its very difficult - how many of us take a camera to take snaps of the house, with dates on them, when we go to an open?
But if you can prove it, then they should have to pay for it I would think.
-
Rachael - we are over the walls now, have just fixed tham ourselves (done a dodgy job but hey there are no holes!) our only thing we still have tochase with them is the shade sail from out the back - dont know if i mentioned it but it seems to have gone missing last thursday and our new neighbours ahev mentioned seeing the previous owners here that day!
Nikki - have you guys still got the block of land to build on?
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY!!!!!!!!!!!
what have you done today,i hope you have or are doing something really nice or special.
Yes we still have the block in melton. It is half acre so big enough to put whatever we like on it,it helps when it comes to house plans that is for sure.
racheal when are you guys thinking about ttc?
-
Happy Birthday for yesterday Cindy!! Hope you had a fabulous day in all the house moving fun!! I hope you went out for tea or something.. And hope you find your shade sail without too much hassle..
Nikki, glad the kids had a good time and Toby went straight to sleep as soon as you guys left!!And I hoipe the weetbix wasn't to messy in the car! And Toby still stands on top of the slide looking cheekily at me! I have been trying to teach him to sit for the last few days! He is a monkey...
Tracey, I second what Nikki said..Just go for anything that u think u might like and see what happens..
Rachael, hows the house coming along? Will you guys ttc after you've settled in a bit?
Both boys are asleep and I'm starving...so gonna get some lunch..
-
Cindy Happy birthday hope you had a nice day and got spoilt
Nikki I will def look into the careers expo, at the moment I am tossing up nursing or kindergarten teaching, I know they are too totally different careers. I was thinking doing div 2 certificate over 2 years part time at tafe.......Sorry i didnt get back to you about dinner but we are away, I am sure Grant and Jamie would get along well, we will have to tee something up
Well Jamie took us away to the grampians for the weekend. I only found out we were going friday morning. Its really nice here, we are using the parks wireless internet LOL Jamie and I cant go without net for too long. We are staying in caravanpark in a cabin, its 2 bedroom and really nice. I also took boys to see my granddad who lives up here. He has never met the boys so it was nice.
Anyway Will chat more when I am home, take care everyone.

tracey that is the course i did,i did it at sunbury and the great news is that the medication component is now included so you wouldnt have to go back like i did.i had no previous experience what so ever, all you have to do is sit a small exam and it is basic numerousy and english.i have all the books so you wouldnt have to buy them and i can help you with all the assignments.
APPLY for it,do it do it.it is also a great career to get into cos there are so many different jobs out there for nurses in a variety of feilds and so many different shifts to choose from so you can work around your family.how fun that you have gone away spontainiously.glad you are having a good time.
we wnet out for tea last night to the restaurant that alex went t last week, the big boys spent a fortune on the arcade games, one of them actually won a mobile phone from a claw game.chantelle fell of a climbing frame onto a hard floor and then spent the entire evening vomiting and sleeping on a chair in the restaurant,so the night was a bit of a disaster,i really had to put my nurses cap on,we were very concerned about her as she obviously had concusion and the staff were crapping themselves, needless to say they still made us pay our $106 bill.she is fine today,i took them both to the park this morning,i havnt been able to get a babysitter as usual so i cant go with grant to see the display home.going to do some gardening today

Thanks for the burthday wishes! One of my friends drpped uver with lunch for me and thenanother friend dropped over for tea so that was really nice, it was good to be able to show someone my house too!
We have been busy busy but the house is slowly coming together! Charlotte slept in the toddler bed last night but hasnt slept today so we might put the sides back on it again if she doenst sleep well tonight - she was pretty good last night though.
Nikki- how did grant go wih the display home today?
Tracey - your so brave looking at a career change! I keep umming and ahhing about nursing and midwifery or if i should just do the doula course (al thinks thats a good idea so i sus out if i do like the birth side of things)..... I wish someone sould just tell me what i have to do and make me do it!
I judt dont see how i would have the time to do anything more than what i would but at the same time i want something to change!
ok, i have to get going - when are we having a catch up????My house is up for it...(if you want to come all the way here
-
oh yeah,i will come all the way there for sure.wow,i cant beleive cha cha is in a toddler bed,i hadnt even given that a thought for harry and he is 3 months older than her, dont give up straight away, give it a couple of days to see if she gets used to it.there has been alot of changes for her lately so wait and see if she likes it.i think harry would keep getting out,but on the other hand when we went to the snow he slept on the bottom bunk,i took a side rail for both of them and he didnt give me any problems with it....hhhmmm,you have given me something to think about.as for a career change, when i was interested in doing nursing and also the med course i didnt even give it a second thought,i just thought i would apply and see what happened and when oi did get accepted of course i would have rocks in my head to knock it back,so i say just apply for everything you are interested in and let fate decide for you.
as for the display, there wasnt one....grant spent a few hours talking with the lady about prices and changes etcbut told us the address of the only house that has been built (this is a brand new plan for them and guess what it is right behind our block, imagine that,so grant went to have a look from the outside as people live in there and the guy came out and was soooo nice to him and told him we could go over anytime we like to have a look together,he said he will tell us any info he can on his experiences and regerets etc,so we will try to pop in this week.
oh and it is in the price range we wanted to spend so that is a bonus.

Hi!
I haven't been around for ages...
So sorry - just been tired and not really with it...
I would love to have a catch up at your new place Cindy!!! How exciting!!! I can't wait to see it...I was over sorting out deposit stuff last week and was going to give you a call but thought you'd be super busy and by that stage the kids were feral...I shall have to visit next time I make a bigw payment though! LOL!
Had my midwife appt last week and all is well with bubs...I just can't believe how quickly the times going and my tummy is sooo big now! I just can't wait until we move and I can set up his stuff and feel like it's all real! I'm so over this unit...I really need to start packing some of the unecessary stuff but am still waiting for Michael to sort out the garage...he was away for the weekend so it still isn't done...
Had my nephews 1st b'day today so was a nice arvo with the family...kids were wrecked though...
I'm sorry I'm not doing a proper catch up...
Tracey - I'm sure you'll make the right decision with career choices! What an exciting time! It can be difficult to decide what you really want though sometimes...I'm still keen to do primary teaching at uni in a few years when the kids are at school...found out they run the course at Frankston which will be really close by so that will be very handy!
I'm hanging for some warm weather - am very over winter...I'm so excited to be only living 15min from the beach when we move!!!
Ok...must get some stuff done and head to bed...Michael was away for the weekend and the kids slept soooo badly - I was up every hour on Fri night and up heaps last night as well...I'm not sure whats going on - Louis seems to be having nightmares/terrors and Dylan? who knows....maybe a tooth - I haven't looked in there for ages! LOL!
A big hello to everyone!!! Sorry I've been neglecting you all lately!
Chat later!
-
Kristie - you poor thing no wonder why you are so worn out! Glad to hear you have a big belly now - will have to tell nicky!

Nikki - how exciting you will be able to havea look at a house AND get seom insider info on the company from them, thats fantastic!
Ok - gtg - tori has just come out - evidently she doesnt think its bed time yet and why sould she when its only 10.15pm????
-
-
Wednesday week then perhaps??? the 13th i think it is??
-
Wednesday is ok for me...although Louis has kinder until 11.15am...so I'll probably be around after that...is that ok?? Would be there by 12pm...
Thank god the kids slept a bit better last night...although Louis still woke up crying his little heart out and there's no sense in him...it's like he's out of it and he just cries and can't tell us anything...poor little thing...I hope it doesn't last too long...
