Hi ladies. My gosh you guys can chat. I am having so much trouble keeping up.
ChrissyT-What a cutie in those sunnies.
Chrissy-Ouchies I hope that your face doesnt feel too sore.
Maz-yucky sisters. PMSL at you throwing the full plate at Jed, oh to be a fly on the wall to see that. I hope that all is well.
Nelle-I hope that your nipples are better.
Ambz-I hope that the christening went well.
Rikki-I still cant believe what an amazing little sleeper you have there.
Caddie-Poo everywhere, that must have been a very interesting day for you. I hope that the ww is going well for you.
Sarah-kate-That is great that Emma pood on the nasty nurse, serve her right for not having a bit of compassion.
Jodi_Lee-hugs re you DH I hope that he tries to understand it from your point of view.
Shell-Ummm hi. You wait for the toys little Ash will get for christmas, they can be a b@stard to get out of the packet, and some of them dont come with batteries so make sure you stock up.
Merrie-How exciting for you to be able to express some milk. Unfortunately I havent been able to yet but the last 2 days have been formula free here so hopefully my milk supply is getting better soon. I am looking forward to Eithan being at least 6-8mths old so that I can finishe BF and go on some medication for my PCOS, will you be going back on some after BF? Sorry to hear about the screaming though.
Belle-So great to finally see you on here again and posting. You know Julia's weight may be small at the moment but she and you have had a bit of a rough start, what with the gastro and infections and ezcma(sp?) etc so it sounds as though she is on the up and up and things can only get better from here. Sorry I havent been on much, just so much happening at the moment.
Sharleen-Hi, augh I hate DH doing overtime too, but I must admit the extra money is nice. I hope that the time flys for you.
I am soooo sorry, I just know that I have forgotton someone. Pls let me know who you are, because I do care and most likely have something I would like to say to you.
Well, I am in for the worst mother award today. We had a work bbq(dh's) today and I forgot to put sunscreen on Bella's face, and now its reall really red. Augh I feel so bad, I did the long sleeves and hat etc but forgot the sunscreen. Now my poor little baby has to put up with an ouchie face.
Now to all of you with Avatars, you are all looking mighty sexy and very yummy mummies. And all of those new ticker pictures, how cute are all of you little babies. I'm with you Maz, so sad no meet up as I am the only one in tassie from this group. Oh well if it's ok I will catch up with you all on the 8th. That is ok isnt it? I'm not buying this time, sorry.
Love
of course it's ok to still join the chat if you're not buying helen... but no more horror stories from you! :) i'm looking forward to trying to keep up with everyone again, was a real hoot last time
hehehehehehe, no, no more horror storiesLOL but remember you were all forwarned before I let you know. Thanks. It will be great to catch up. Though this time the group is bigger isnt it? Now that will be fun and games.
Love
Well Ladies I am off to bed as soon as High School Musical has finished. Although if it's not in the next 15-20min I think I will just skip the ending. Catch you all another time.
Love
Sorry Rikki, I remember I was the one who wanted to hear the horror story! :p And Helen told it with such drama, line by line...master storytelling Helen...you should do children's stories at the local library (don't tell your first birth story though!! lol)
So our meetup is the 8th hey, that sounds fun! Better get cracking with my pressie hey..
And NO clue giving okay? Will we reveal on the night? Probably?
River's in bed now (not asleep!) so I really hope he'll sleep through tonight. He hasn't done his big poo yet though, so I'm not really that optimistic about it, I'm sure we'll be awoken by the sound of explosions.
I totally agree Jodi, all our babies are really beautiful! Just added a few new ones of Riv (and one of the new couches in the 'Nelle' section - and I'm not up myself with all those photos of me, it was for my Secret Santa to try and give them a picture of what I'm like, since my 'favourites' aren't very helpful :p)
Jodi, glad you could come to an understanding with Heath about porn, I'm one of the ones who does mind, not very 'modern' there, lol! Rans knows that if he wants any action, then I am his point of reference! But that's just us.
How did Savanna's christening go Ambz?
Anna, those pics of Xander and his moo cow toy are too funny! What a cutie.
Ohh Belle, it looks so lovely at the beach, wish I lived right near the beach! I haven't been to the beach in aaages.
Well, Rans is at a mate's house helping him do his cv, but he will be home soon with a SLURPEE!! He said I can have 3 frozen cokes on my birthday! And upon realising that the slurpees are the part of my birthday I'm most excited about, I've realised that I MIGHT love them a little too much...
My birthday's the 25th (voting day for Victorians) for whoever asked :) Not that Rans and I are voting, cos we tried to change our enrollment details when we moved ages ago, they sent a confirmation letter to the old address and when we didn't reply, they took us off the register! Not too disappointed, tbh, but have re-enrolled like a good responsible citizen anyway. Just not in time for this state election.
Anyway, aiming for a sort of early night tonight, so I'd better wrap up this post. Take care girls, I really do enjoy trying to keep up to date with how you're all going! xo
ETA: Ooh SNAP Helen! I love posting at exactly the same time! Is that the sing-along version? Reckon my sis will be watching that...
Hi girls!!
Nice to see you on helen, what an epic post.Im so slack.I do remember that birth story!! Itwas a wonderful night to remember and cant wait till the 8th.
Nelle you and those slurpees! My friend jayne, she is a BB member has a slurpee machine. Its a commercial one and she got it out for her DD 1st bday.1 side had rasberry for kids and the other had alchohol added. That would almost be heaven for you wouldnt it!!
Anyways, had a productive day as nice weather, the girls behaved and i got a new toy for scrapbooking! Happy all round.
sounds like a good day caddie... i love the idea of the slurpee machine for home... nelle will be so jealous! lol. well i made a rod for my own back over the last few days, and i have spent tonight trying to fix it. tues night i got a phone call from a friend i have not spoken to in six months, wed and thurs nights i was out for dinner, and last night the grandparents came over... so ainsleigh has had four late nights in a row. took me nearly two hours to settle her to sleep, but i would not give in and let her out of her room. it's times like these i wish dh did not work away. hopefully tmw night will be much easier again.
just needed to have a little vent, think i'll have an early night (it's only 8.30pm here) goodnight girls
Good on you for perservering Rikki! An early night hey...I think I've missed my chance at that! :D Ah well, I'm off to bed NOW I really truly am!!
(Ohhh and Caddie, a slurpee machine at home? Frozen coke on tap...ohhh...)
(Ohhhh....)
Rikki - Sorry to hear that Ainsleigh wouldn't settle for you tonight  .. what a pain. It's always hard when they stay up too late as they seem to get over-tired and it is just so much harder to get them to sleep! Wouldn't the world be great if, when babies were tired; they'd just go to sleep!?
Helen - you forgot me!:p But I loves ya anyways and totally commend you on such a huuuuuge post. I never get the time to do all the personals in one hit.
Caddie - Yummo to alco slurpees... that could be dangerous come Summer! The weather was awesome today wasn't it? Be so nice if it was like this everyday (with one hour of rain between 2-3am to keep the gardens nice) LOL.
Nelle - You would've laughed at Xander this morning with his Moo Cow, he was just sitting there having a full blown conversation with it. I'm off to go check out that scrummy boy of yours.
I'm so looking forward to the next msn chat girls.. I missed the last one!
hi ya chickens..god you were all busy last night.
I jsut have to share this with you. BIL drove up here yesterday to personally ask Nikolaus to be the page boy at his wedding. I almost cried with the look on NIkolaus' face. I asked Nikolaus what he should say to his Uncle John (meaning thank you) and he said please instead. Atleast now I just have 2 kids to look after at the wedding instead of 3. Then John ask's me to do a reading at the church. IM gonnna pass cause Its 2 hard with Wilhelm. He'll freak out enough being in there with 380 people let alone if I leave him for 5 mins.
I am so looking forward to our December meet up. Should we do what we did last time and make it 7 or 8pm Perth time? It was so much easier for you guys that way wasn't it? OH no swear Jar that night please.....I'll go broke! lol
Anna - I so love the new ticker pic. GO the tounge and cute grin. love the new pics.
Caddie - What scrapping toy did you get..please share.
Rikki - I dont know how you do it on your own mate. Your one hell of a woman if you ask me.
Belle - how's Julia going with the extra bottle? Love the pics mate.
Helen - how the hell did you get to do such a long post? **** I try and 9times out of 10 I loose it.
Hello to everyone else - IM sorry punch me later. Only have Wilhelm and Vy here as Jed has taken Nikolaus and a mate to the movies for some solo time with dad. Im busy washing (ah story of my life) and trying to sort out my chrisco that got delivered yesterday (big headache)
BBL chickens
xxmaz
Hi guys, augh I knew I had forgotton some people. I went to bed thinking about it and at 2am I remembered 4 people. I was actually thinking about all the beautiful tickers.
Anna-Sorry, you noticed before I could post. Look at that cute new ticker. So nice to hear that Xander is making baby babble. Eithan does heaps of smiling and makes some noises but no giggling or babble yet.
Rach-I hope that you have had more rest and bubs is not so clingy anymore.
Adele-My gosh what a rough trot you have had. I hope that you cold/illness is going and that Simon is helping out more.
Panna-What a big boy. But I know what you mean about not being chubby despite the weight, as Bella was exactly like that.
I think that covers everyone.
Well, last night, well this morning. After Eithan's 3am feed I was laying in bed thinking about his reflux and how it was gone. The next thing you know I heard a power chuck adn choking. I dived out of bed and as I lifted him up he went off again a big projectile vomit. So he was covered in spew, his hair my arms the bassinet. Lovely DH (well he had no choice really, but he didnt complain), changed him and calmed him down. No crying he just opens his eyes wide as if to say help me and keeps catching his breath and not breathing as if he is panicking. Well he is fine now just have loads more washing again.(normal)
Love
morning all,
Helen.p- poor Eithan and you too. Is his reflux occuring less often? Hopefully it'll soon stop. What age do they roughly have it til?
maz- NIkolaus will make such a gorgeous page boy! You'll definately have to put lots of pics of that on yr website.
Nelle- i don't know how you stay up so late every night! What time do you get up in the morning? I find most nights I'm asleep by 9:30, can't keep my eyes open any longer!
rikki- Hope Ainleigh settled for you. I've started giving Ash a massage before her bedtime then a top up feed and I find that it has really helped her settle at night, think the massage just winds her down, she spec loves her back being done.
caddie- Slurpee machine at home sounds great. Spec with the alcohol side but don't think i will do that while BFing!
ChrissyT- Those needles are scary. The nurse told me prior that if I wanted to cry don't be embarassed she said so many mums cry on there bubs first needles! Next ones are due in Jan so Df will be on holidays and I told him that he can come and hold her next time.
Gotta go back to shops today to pick up my photo's. I got a digital camera just before Ash was born and went to get the phots developed. I had bout 70 pics on there!
I want to get a nice pic of her smiling to give to people in a nice frame for xmas. can get one on my phone but they won't print out as photo's cause the quality is bad. Camera on phone is only 1.3 megapixels. But when i try with digital camera she looks at the camera really sus and cause it takes a couple seconds to take the pic after you've pushed the button I can't even get her to smile then sneakily take a pic! I will have to persevere.
hey girls,
im still around it so hot today we are going to my mum and dads for the day :)
hugs for everyone
bbl to talk.
adele
I think Ash is starting to giggle, sometimes when she has those huge smiles she makes this little squealy sort of choking sound that just sounds like the beginnings of a laugh!
ainsleigh did that last wednesday shell...started to make a giggle sort of sound when i was doing high fives with her. and i know what you mean about the reflux helen. i thought ainsleigh's was settling too but we are about to get in the shower together as we are both covered in spew!!!
we're off to lunch with grandma today so i am going to put ainsleigh in one of the highly impractical smocked dresses that grandma bought... got to keep em happy :) have a good days girls
morning (well afternoon) girls. Had another good night last night, Nina has herself into a good routine in the afternoon where she is in bed asleep by 6.30. She woke up once for a feed as per usual, then slept till 6'ish. She's been giggling and talking for quite a while now. When she talks it sounds like a crow lol. I measured her yesterday and she's 63cm & 13weeks. Gotta be pretty happy with that. Not sure about her weight, I'll get her weighed some time next week.
We're off to BIL's girlfriends birthday lunch thingy later today. Should be fun catching up with everyone (we all have the same group of friends) except it's not till 4pm and I bath Nina 5.30 and 6, so it'll be a short visit for me. I don't want to get her out of routine now that's she's used to it. Otherwise it'll backfire and she'll go back to wanting to stay up till 10pm each night.
charli - Nina lifted her head really well with the rolled up blanket the first time, but now when I do it she rolls backwards and forwards on it and doesn't co-operate with lifting her head, the litter terror! Any other tips?
helen - I hope Eithan's reflux eases up soon.
sorry, to many posts to read back on, so hello to everyone else, love you all!
Rikki,im sorry but i have to cancel tommorow.A good friend of mine had her baby the other day and i was meant to visit today but couldnt and she wants me to visit tommorow morning. If i dont go tommorow i probably wont see her for a couple of weeks.Sorry.
All i have done today is clean and tidy up! No more,im gonna go and get a cuppa and relax.
no problems caddie. anna, are you still keen to come just the two of us? or would you rather postpone till caddie can make it? i don't mind either way...
Yeah, why not! Be good to meet up with you Rikki. Would it be too much hassle if it were earlier in the morning?
Jodi - Xander is a little bugger re tummy time as well. He is super lazy about it and probably should have much better head control by now.
yeah I don't know whether I should be worried or not. She has great head control when sitting up, it's just on her tummy that she's lazy and doesn't do anything. This afternoon I tried it again and this time with a mirror in front of her, but she still rolls backwards and forwards. She also doesn't seem too interested in rolling. She's a very active baby, her legs are very strong and when on her back she'll move around the floor all over the place, just doesn't roll. She's constantly kicking things with her legs, and tonight in the bath I had her sitting in it and she kept pushing up with her heels as if to stand up.
Is the not rolling thing a problem? Or is it something that will happen in time.
ETA: I noticed in another thread a couple of you have Pinky McKay books, I'm looking at purchasing 'Sleeping Like
A Baby' and '100 Ways To Calm The Crying' - how did you find them, any good? Are they worth it?
Jodi - I wouldn't be concerned about Bub's not rolling...I personally think it is way too early for that...my friend's bub turned 6 months today, and only rolled for the first time last week.
that puts my mind at ease a little then. The dr gave me a sheet with milestones and expected ages and it says on there 'rolls tummy to back' 2-4 months so was a little worried as Nina is 3 months. But if there's others out there that don't for a while, then good!
BTW love that pic on your ticker!! so cool
Nelle - I know I have probably asked you before but whereabouts are you in the East because I am in the Eastern suburbs as well - Croydon to be in fact :D
GOD it's hot!! Had a wedding to go to today - and I got burnt. Was a half jewish wedding and I must say some of the traditions are quite strange but had an excellent time.
Another wedding next Saturday in Mansfield (near Mt Buller for the interstaters :P) which is a hike for us. But should still be a lot of fun
Off to bed for me. I wonder how my girl will go in this heat?
jodi_lee- I borrowed 100 ways to calm the crying and at the moment have just started reading sleeping like a baby. I prefer sleeping like a baby. The thing I love about her books is that she goes about things in a nice way and is totally against leaving babies to cry. Alot of books I've read tell you what "not" to do but don't offer much advice about what will help. Pinky's book stopped me feeling guilty to about getting into so called "bad habits". such as letting your baby fall asleep on the breast. She also has a gentle way of stopping this that goes over a 4 week period rather than just stopping cold turkey and letting them cry instead. I've raved on abit, can you see I'm a fan?
Well i have a problem re clothes, was hot here today in melb so went into my summer clothes draw. Now most of my tops were already tight but with these breast feeding boobs they are hard to fit on, looking bit pornographic! Anyways got couple tops with buttons but my prob is i prefer to wear dresses when its really hot but how the hell do you breast feed with a dress on? The only dress i found with buttons was $100! No way am I going to pay that for a summer dress. Anyone know where to find a BFing friendly dress?
Jodi - My MCHN told me that some babies pretty much skip the rolling milestone and just do the sitting up/crawling instead. Xander usually just lets his head flop down during tummy time as he super slack. He also just lets his head flop if you pull him by his arms to a sit from lying down; yet he holds his head just fine when I sit him up so obviously the neck muscles are getting stronger... the way I see it is that at least when I make him sit upright, he is working these muscles and making them stronger. I have been told by health nurse that carrying him 'aeroplane' style has the same effect on the neck as tummy time.
hey girls,
it was bloddy hot over here in adelaide. I ended up with akira being sick and riley being sookie and me just feeling crap.
We went and started a bit of the xmas shopping for simons side they are really had to buy for lol.
Sharleen - Did you get that money i put in you bank account ??
when was we going to do the chat thing?? i have a christmas concert for akira on the
5th Dec.
well im off to get akira ready for bed.
Adele
I do the aeroplane thingy, so that's good if it's the same as tummy time.
Adele - you poor thing, first you being sick, now Akira and Riley being sooky. Never ending with you, is it!
I believe the chat thingy is on the 8th December, not sure of the time
OMG Eithan laughed tonight. Sounded a bit goony but was soooo cute.
Hugs Adele.
Love
:hello: you lot really do talk LOL page 3 to page 7 so I am not doing personals LOL
ok we had the best weekend was so nice for mum and my 91 year old gran to see him again
he was a bit fussy friday night, went down around 12am in bed with us slept there till 3am when I put him in his bed, he woke at 5am changed his bum and went back to bed till 7am:eek: he dropped his 2-3am feed WOOOOO!!!!!!!!! anyway I thought it was fluke he was tired etc, well last night he did the same went down at 11.30pm after a feed slept till 5.30am had bum changed and woke for feed at 7am :)
 he does the same tonight cause this mummy is tired, he is in bed now which issomething he hasn't done for 2 weeks or more, he has wanted cuddles from 5pm tp 11pm so him bein gdown at 9pm is bliss
ok better go shower and head to bed, no point having a baby who wants to sleep an dmummy not sleeping
Okay. Trying to remember what I want to say..
Sarah, I KNEW you live in Croydon, because I live in Kilsyth! And yes, how hot was it today!! Poor little Riv! Lol, I said to Rans, can you dress River for a hot day, and he was in a singlet, a long sleeved bodysuit, a jumper, pants and socks - I kid you not! Took off the socks, jumper and bodysuit when we got to church :)
Sorry I missed you on msn Adele, Rans was fiddling with the computer.
Shell, I got some tops and dresses from Target that button up! And a few from Myer too. I'm wearing my suburban singlet from Myer now that buttons up (that's the coolest one I have). I'll keep an eye out for more though.
I wouldn't stress about when our babies roll girls, they all develop differently - apparently my lil sis could run before she could walk! Bet that was fun for my mum!
And for whoever asked how I cope with staying up so late...I woke up just before 11 today!! (Church starts at 10:30 :p) I went anyway though, they're all used to me being late, lol! But River's not a bad sleeper, which probably helps things too. But we had a fairly busy day today, so I am off to bed RIGHT NOW! I really am going to try tonight, since it's already 11:30
Oh, and we've agreed to go on youth camp to Phillip Island next weekend (my birthday weekend!), which will be brilliant fun, but I hope it doesn't turn out to be a stupid idea!
Okay, bed. Take care girls! xo
Hi all
We are on our fifth day without formula now and hopefully we wil never have to go back I am so glad I don't have to sterilise bottles anymore.
I only have a couple of minutes as I have heaps to get done before Hatty wakes up again.
Helen & Belle - seems like all the PCOSers are struggling with supply issues it really isn't fair on top of everything else. The thing that has really helped me has been getting plenty of rest, feeding frequently and expressing a lot as well as taking domperidone.
I am using a hospital grade breast pump. I haven't tried expressing with a manual pump yet but I will soon because I can't hire the hospital pump forever. I also get up twice at night at 1.30am and 4.30am to express while Hatty is asleep. This gives me enough milk to sup her during the day and keeps my supply up as well. I am hoping that eventually I will be able to stop supping but if not I will go on till she is 5 or 6 months and then start her on solids and perhaps she won't need the extra bottle anymore.
Helen I will probably go back on met once I have stopped breastfeeding but I hope that won't be at least until Hatty is 18 months old but we'll see.
Well gotta go have to shower, do dishes, water garden and make some phone calls while she is still asleep.
By the way does anyone elses baby have a problem with the pram? Lately Harriet seems to cry whenever I put her in it. I wonder whether I should make an effort to take her for a walk in it every day to get her used to it. Anyone got any other suggestions? I guess I could put some toys up in it too. I had to carry her all around the shopping centre yesterday.
Cheers
Merrie
he woke at 3am but tis ok cause he didn't wake tfrom when we put him down, and he is still asleep now at 8.30am
hey girls,
another hot day starting up here again :( i have kept akira home from kindy so she can rest. i have already been to get a few things from the shops at 6am :)wanted to beat the heat.
simon and i had a massive fight cause i said i want to move next year as this house isnt very good to live in. so now i have him look at getting a homeloan. i can only hope that he will do it cause im tried of moving around.
helen - that would have been cute to hear.
jodi - yeah im having a bad year with akira this year with her getting sick i can only hope next year is better .
well im off to look at the house market to see what is out there to show simon.
later
Adele
Morning all,
Gonna be hot here today in Melb too. I've kept all the blinds shut so it shouldn't get warm in here til late arvo.
Df has chucked a sicky today so it'll be nice having him round for the day.
Hi to evryone.
Maybe our house just has good insulation, but it looks cloudy outside and I don't feel hot at all - I'm still wearing long pants..maybe it'll heat up later? I thought it was going to be 36 or something today. Could just be that inside the house hasn't heated up yet...
Guess I'll find out once the mailman comes. I've had a shower, a bowl of cereal and put a load of washing on so far today  That's a lot for me. River did still wail during a good part of my shower though.
hi ya ladies
Hot here in shepparton. I left the cooler on while we went out (thank god)
Anna - I carry Vy around 'airoplane' style cause its easier on my back. She loves it to but I get sick of the droll that splats on the floor after a while .lol.
For those who are worried about rolling over...Wilhelm was 11 months old before he did and he didn't crawl until he was 14 months. Can you imagine the size he was. He was a round little budda now his a bloody twig.
Sharleen - got the nappy thingo, not what I expected but Im going to put it in the car. Bloody ripper. thanks mate.
Better go and put away my shopping
Hello everyone, I know IM slack Im just to tired...
xxmaz
Hiya girls,i feel like crap today.Depressed you could say.I dont know why? Ruby had me up quite abit last night and been unsettled today. And evrything has gone wrong today.I was meant to go to rikki's then didnt because i wanted to visit a friend in hospital. Then i couldnt go to the hospital and visit my friend as mum changed plans on me and couldnt look after the kids so i could go.Then i was going to go to rikkis but i didnt know your phone no to tell u i changed my mind and you were meeting anna earlier.
And just the small things have been upsetting me. I just dont get a break. If i do its an appoinment or getting shopping. And i have to rush so that whoever has the kids i havnt burdened them with them.
Im going to go for a walk when the kids wake up,they have to come with me of course but atleast these 4 walls arnt closing in on me.
Awwww Caddie - I hate days like that! I hope the arvo gets better for you.
Well girls I must say that Ainsleigh is just scrummy... Rikki is gorgeous too and bakes really yummy muffins!!!! Xander was true to form and played up so we didn't get any pics of them together, maybe next time.
BBL
 caddie
