good morning girls,

the kids slept all night but me and simon didnt it was to hot to sleep we were sitting out the back most of the night as it was cooler. it was nice to beable to talk to each other with out a four yr ol yelling at us lol.

its going to be a sticky day today by the looks its cloudy and hot.

kellxx- ahh that scared the crap out of me when akira first did that lol. so far riley hasnt done it. i counted the water bottles riley went through last night and it was 10 and jars of food. i got 1 bottle of ff in around 10.30 last night. will see how he goes today.

rikki- ainsleigh look like she enjoyed her self in the photos. sounds like you all had a good hoilday.

Rikki - what fantastic pics mate.
nelle - you crack me up, pretty sad you talking about me all the time .lol.
Anna - you do what you think is best mate about the food sits. I started Vy with a teaspoon on farex in her bottle and now whe's waitng for me to give her, her fruit farex for breaky
Chrissy - I love the name Jessica and its one on the list aswell.
Its caddies fault about Scarlett -she picked it ages ago and Nikolaus picked Bonni,. I dont know. It will propable chang eby the time we do fall pg again, but the middle name with be Katarina after Jeds oma who's 95, Vy was due on her birthday last year.

BBL - Have to feed the kids and go to the post office to send of my ebay items, made $100 this week andive only jsut started. Only $50 and Ive got my toilet for my ensuite. PMSL

God my son is driving me mad! Now thats he's decided rolling is fun he does it ALL THE TIME! Everytime I put him on his back he rolls to his tummy then sooks.

As for comfort feeding well Jett does it but with his bottle of apple juice. I now have to train him out of it as it can cause tooth decay before they even come in. He will take his dummy if I do what you guys are doing with it but I want him to settle without it as he doesnt keep it in and it drives me mad.

Still no AF. Might test tomorrow if she's still MIA.

Sharleen - hope today brings you great news. OH can I come and make a mask too. How much fun.
AnnaT - Be happy mate that he's rolling so much, he's starting to get his independance and your going to need it when number 2 is here by october. I hope to fooy your pg. Ive got everything crossed for ya
On the rolling front, Vy rolled over for the first time yesterday start to me and cuddled in. It was a minties moment

Rikki - Would be great to catch up again, and Caddie this time too! I have been practice feeding Xander with boobie milk on a spoon, he doesn't push it out anymore. I dunno why I am so worried about starting a few weeks early - highly doubt that it really would make much difference, but I guess months of having it drummed into me to wait till 6 months has got me worried (probably unnecessarily)

Sharleen, I agree with Maz, making masks sounds like lots of fun. Best of luck with the news today.

Kellxx - I'm glad I'm not the only one a little nervous about starting solids. Sorry to hear you had a bit of a scare with Jesse... you are probably just a little jumpy still after having the wrong vaccine, I reckon you'll be just fine the first time he stubbs his toe.

Nelle - I bet you are going to look gorgeous in your new dress. Make sure you post a piccy up when you are all prettied up so we can tell you how great you look.

Maz - I love the name Katerina... always have. Such a pretty name.

AnnaT - Great that Jett is rolling nicely. We're still waiting for Xander.

AnnaT.. i so hear you! Jesse is doing the exact same. As soon as he's down he's over on his tummy and then sooks.. then i turn him back and he sooks again and rolls over and sooks as he's stuck. I was excited at first but now its driving me mad too!

Had a pretty good night last night. Nina didn't go to sleep till 8.30 (her last feed was at 6.30pm), then woke at 11.30 & 3.30 for feeds, which I thought was pretty good. But then she woke up at 4.30, wide awake wanting to play and would crack the s**ts is we're weren't there. She's doing this EVERY SINGLE MORNING at 4.30!!!!!!!!! Anyone know what's going on there? We are so tired mainly cause of that.

sharleen - I'm praying it's gonna be good news. That's great news that your sister & bil are moving back to Bundy, always good to have family around. How are the fires there? Saw it on the news last night.

kel - Now that Nina has mastered rolling, she's doing it at every opportunity. She's constantly getting her arm or leg stuck between the slats in her cot. She's got a gro-bag which doesn't deter her at all. It's cute in a way to see them stuck, but scary too.

annat - Nina has learnt how to put the dummy in herself now. So if she loses it, she'll find it, pick it up and put it in her mouth herself. Saves me from having to do it. I initially didn't want her to have one, but it soothes her, especially during teething, so whatever works!

adele - good to hear you and Simon got to talk to one another properly last night. I hear you on the heat though, our elect bill is gonna be huge, our a/c's are run practically 24/7 ATM

rikki - sounds like you had a great holiday. Those pics are gorgeous, looks like Ainsleigh had fun.

nelle - what's this '10 minute policy' thing you do with River when he's crying? I'm interested in trying ALL different settling techniques ATM, getting desperate.

sharleen - that greast news your sister and bil are moving back down near you. and thats great she got a new job it sounds like you boss is an arse lol. hope you get some good news with your nephew today. fingers crossed.

anna - do what ever you think is right for xander he will tell you if he doesnt want it.

it sounds like her sleeping pattern is out the window again you might want to try and get her to go to bed a bit later and see what happens then . ill read up on what i did for akira and email you cause she did that a lot.

well i have another heat headache and all i want to do is sleep but thats never going to happen. lol . got weight watchers tonight it will be interesting to see if i lost any and if i did how much would it be.

Morning girls! I read your posts while I was feeding (usually do) but couldn't reply then, so here I am now!

Adele - have fun at WW tonight - you probably have sweated heaps of weight off, lol!! (seriously, can you do that?) Hope your headache goes away, can you put a cool facewasher on your neck? Maybe keep a supply of frozen facewashers or something.

Jodi, our 10min settling policy is that, once River's put down for the night and starting to look tired (yawns, slow blinking, etc), if he starts crying and it's not his hungry, pooey or in pain cry, but his tired cry - we leave him for 10 mins before going into him. I've found I have to watch the clock, cos Rans would say 'how much time do you think's passed?' and I'd say '5 minutes' and he'd say 'wrong, 1 minute'! So I watch the clock and I'd say about 95% of the time, he's asleep before the time is up!
Sometimes the 10 minutes is up and he's still making little noises but I know if I go in, he'll wake up, so I leave him then too.
And I don't know if Nina has this, but River has a 'next level' cry...there's the tired cry, which I leave, but I go in if he escalates to the cry that says 'I'm angry and working myself up'! So I resettle him and start again. Unless something's good on tv, and then we'll bring him out and let him fall asleep in our arms :lol:
Not sure how well that'd work at 4:30 in the morning, since Nina wouldn't be that tired. Could you keep her busy during the day? River slept til 9 this morning (I put him down at 10pm though) but he only grabbed a few catnaps yesterday.
Hope you find something that works for you Jodi, keep us posted on how you're going!

Anna, you're right, it's not like when Xander turns 6 months his gut will suddenly change! It's been slowly changing since birth, and I'm sure that many kids who start solids earlier are fine - my dad's not allergic to anything at all and being bub number 6, I can't imagine my nan had time to exclusively breastfeed him for that long.

Oh well, I was going to type more, but from the lack of chatting from Riv's room, I'm guessing he's asleep - and that means I can have a quick shower! Man shower's are so important to me in hot weather...mmm...cleanliness...
I think I'll wear a dress today. Like I said yesterday, I'm tired of not looking pretty, so I might doll up a bit. Just because I can! :D

savanna had her 4month shots today. she did really well. daddy held her this time so i wouldnt get blamed if she moved like last time hehe
she was so adorable. it breaks your heart when they scream in pain and look at you for comfort. my little angel. we had to wait for ten minutes in the waiting room before leaving as procedure. she sat on daddys lap and complained to him. it was sooo cute.
as soon as we put her in the car seat she was fast asleep.

nelle- i hear you on the weight issue too hun. i used to be quite slim aswell but have always had big boobs. now i feel fat and with even bigger boobs grrrrr
i know i can lose the weight but its just a matter of getting off my ass. but this bloody heat doesnt help either.

savanna rolled from her tummy to her back for the first real time when she turned 4 months. i was sitting on the couch at the time and had her infront of me. lucky she didnt roll the other way off the couch. i would have been in bigggg trouble then.

she only rolls half way from her back to her tummy enough to look around and watch the tv.. lol lazy bum

i cant remember who was having settling issues??
but my cousin in law went for one of those day classes for settling babies and she loved it. she said she learnt so much. so that might help ...

ambz- glad to hear savanna we alright with her needles again. i gotta do riley in 2wks and not looking forward to it because of what happened last time.

maz- still no cd it might come tomorrow who knows.

nelle thanks for that idea with the face washer that seem to help alot. my head has gone for now. thats how they do it on biggest loser lol sweating it out have you seen them when there working out lol.

Jodi.. Jesse usually does 180's in his cot during the day.. sticks his feet on the bars and pushes himself around. No more roll over scares so far.

Jess had another bad settling day today.. damn immunisation! Cried all morning.. finally got him to sleep, went to put him down in his cot and waaaaaaa... damn it! So had to sit and watch Summerland with him on my lap for a little while. Discovered he has a little bit of constipation as pushed out 2 pellets earlier so gave him some brown sugar water.. which he gulped down. DH got him to sleep and has been for about an hour now wooo!

No BFP here, sorry Maz :) AF hasnt shown though, guess my cycle is stuffed up from pregnancy. Ive given us 6mths to get pregnant or we are madly running back to a fertility specialist, no way am I going through another 2 years of hell and wasted time!

Kell, Jett pushes himself off things so he can scoot around, either up and down or around in circles. His new place to do it is the BATH lol
I bathe Jett in our ordinary bath now, lay him on his back in enough water to reach his ears then he splashes away and goes "swimming". When I actually say "Go swimming Jett!" he kicks his little legs and propels himself up the bathtub to the other end :lol: I need to get him some bath toys to play with now.

OMG does anyone think their bub tries to say something to you, or repeat a word youve said? I was watching Jett on his playmat today and I was singing "I love you I love you" to him over and over and all of a sudden I hear " IIIIIIIIIII UUUUUUUUH OOOOOOOOOOOO" from him :eek: Dh came running in when I was clapping and said it to him again and he did it two more times!

He's growing way to fast :(

AnnaT.. Ive never thought about putting Jesse in the bath like that.. i got a bath seat thingy for him which he kinda lies in in the bath and his little legs and arms go like crazy! Will have to try that though! Do you use a bath mat or anything? Those non slip ones or just lay him on the bath itself?
Oh yeh! DH and i have sworn Jesse repeats us. He use to do it with the word "Good" now it sounds like he says "eeehhh-oooooow" when we say "hello"! DH always says "Hello Jesse" when he comes home from work and nearly each time he says "eeeehhh-ooooooow"
He's also started squeeling... sometimes instead of laughing and sometimes quite loud.. i cant help but laugh myself.. wonder what the neighbours think!

Hi all,
We had a good and bad night last night, bad cause it took 45mins to settle (screaming most of this time) slept for 40 then gave another feed and spent 10mins settling so it was about 9:45 when she finally went to sleep (bedtime is 8), but the great part thrn was she slept til 6:30!!!! Had a feed then back down. I went in at 9am and she was just playing quietly and happily.

Nap times today though getting longer to settle and lots more screaming, she's starting to skip the tired cry and go to screaming, can't wait to see MCHN tomor and get some help.

Kellxx- Hows jesse? Settled for you? You should go drop him at that Drs to settle him after giving him the wrong vax!

ambz- Ash is having her 4 month needles tomor, I'm getting my Df to hold her this time too, his turn seeing as I did last time.

Nelle- i know what you mean bout not feeling pretty, cause my body shape has changed just don't feel so good looking anymore, some days i make myself dress up a little to feel better but most days I can't be bothered. I used to be an 8! but now my tummy hips, thighs are alot bigger.

Adele- Good luck on the weigh in tonight, like Nelle said you've prolly sweated it all off.

Jodi- I'm getting desperate for settling techniques too, I'm asking my MCHN abut the settling class. The only thing that stops Ashleigh crying is holding her vertically, she won't even let me hold her horizontal! With the waking at 4:30 thing could you take nina into bed with you at that time? Maybe she'll settle if your there?

Sharleen- have you gotten the results? God I hope its not serious.

Anna- Might have to try that dummy trick but I can see Ashleigh screaming as soon as she realises its not booby!

Lucky it didn't stay too hot here today, cool breeze came in quickly, had a friend come over I think after Ashleigh took 45mins to settle I turned her off ever having kids!
Yummy we're having home made pizza's for dinner tonight.

Woah! What a great sleep Ash!! Sometimes when they sleep for that long you dont mind that they take a little while to settle. Did you get some good sleep for yourself?

That sounds like a lovely idea! He's ready when youre ready to take him :)

shell - She does settle if I take her into bed with us. Don't know if we should continue doing that or not.
Do you think she has an upset tummy or something and that's why she won't let you lay her horizontally. Have you tried raising her cot mattress a little? I hope you have some success with the MCHN tomorrow. Let us know how you go.
Sharleen's SIL has a dr app at 4.40 today for her nephew so we won't hear anything till after that. I too am praying that it's nothing serious.

kel - we have that bath thing too and Nina loves it! We got it for her when she was about 8 weeks old and have had her in the big bath since then. She's trying to sit up now so I think she's ready for the seat.

annat - it's not over yet, cause AF hasn't arrived. Sending you :bluedust: and I've got my fingers crossed for you.

ambz - yay on Savanna rolling! how's she going after her needles?

Heath has been home today as he's really tired and Nina has been an angel for us. Going for a sleep when she's tired, no rocking or trying settling techniques, just plomp her in bed and she goes to sleep for an hour or so. I'm trying to extend the feeding to every 3 or even every 4 hours during the day and so far so good. I'm doing this in the hope that it'll extend the feeding times during the night too.

Kell, first I want to say Jesse is just absolutely adorable! I just want to kiss his little face lol Everytime I see your ticker pic I get so clucky. Not that everyone's bubs arent gorgeous cause they are!
Well, I lay Jett down in the bath with no bathmat, we have a baby bath that converts from newborn, infant to toddler. It hooks in the end of the bath in the toddler mode and its like a chair sort of they can sit upright in but seeing as he is beyond laying down in the baby position but to little for sitting up I just use the big bath. The small one is to confining. He likes to move :biggrin: I just fill it up with warm water and some bubble bath (maybe some toys) til it will sit just on his ears when he is laying down.

Jodi- Maybe do it for a few nights just to get her into the habit of going back to sleep at that time of the morning.
I wondered too if Ash had upset tummy but she lays down fine on her mat when its play time its just at sleep time she screams. i thought if she does have pain she'd be upset other times.

Kellxx- i didn't get that good asleep cause of the heat, she always sleeps longer at night in the warmer weather and thats when i don't sleep!
