Hey Belle, sorry if I've ignored you, sometimes I get wrapped up with these settling probs with Ash I can't see outside our own little world!

Jodi- How'd the Drs go? Hows those poor burns of yours, you poor thing, they might sting for a little while. Once when I burnt myself I couldn't sleep cause of the stinging so I wet a facewasher with really cold water and sat it on me all night, when I next awoke all the pain was gone, just something to try if it troubles you.

Well,ruby said julia can have a date as long as its not serious or long term.Long distance relationship is not going down too well at the mo!!! (LOL)

belle - I am so sorry. With Nina being the way she is at the moment, I'm sort of being a little self-absorbed. I hope you don't feel any of us are intentionally ignoring you. :grouphug:

UPDATE ON EL NINA:
The dr thinks it's a behavioural problem, like separation anxiety. She thinks that cause I go to her straight away when she cries, I should wait 3-5 minutes then go to her. She also said at this age she shouldn't be feeding every 2 hours and should be able to go 3-4 hours between feeds, and that I shouldn't put her on the boob every time. She also suggested co-sleeping so we all get sleep.
Heath and I haven't had a proper discussion about this yet, will tonight. I've also got the health nurse app on 29th Jan, so will see what she recommends too.
What do you girls think?

UPDATE ON ME:
My arm is going ok, a little sore especially when holding Nina, but good news is that it's not gonna fall off :D My burn on my belly hurts like hell.

caddie - you cheeky thing you!! I know the feeling of not having anything to wear with this gorgeous post-baby body I have :rolleyes:

belle - hope you are feeling better, i know we all get absorbed and often are in a rush when we post and i think some of us who are a little quieter get 'forgotten' at times. you know everyone here loves you and julia (well that's how i feel when i come to this thread, everyone cares for everyone else). clancy (my firstborn) is much better today thanks, but i bent my fingernail right back when i stepped back and he was behind me when i was putting ainsleigh in the car.... it is super owie!!!!

jodi - behavioural huh? sounds like what shell is going throug too. well lets hope you can both break the bad behaviour and replace it with a much better one. glad to here that you are ok after your fall.

caddie - you made me laugh nearly as much as nelle usually does.... that's the sort of joke i'd expect from her!! :)

hope the cool change came to those who need it... i was actually cold today! baby girl had her needles and screamed the place down but settled again quickly. she has slept most of the afternoon (the second time in bed with mummy as i needed the sleep not her!!!) i am trying to organise a christening celebration lunch for our family and friends here in perth for sunday week and i am sure you will all be jealous to here that the best thing about being in the west is that anna is making me a cake topper!! can't wait to see it.

hello to all i did not mention by name, definately not because i am ignoring you but baby girl needs her bottle!

Sorry been MIA, feeling like shyte. Still no AF but Im getting ripper headaches and some pinching pains. Jett is being super fussy, I cant put him down without him screaming his lungs out and he woke up at 5am this morning after being asleep only 5 hours and then every hour until 9am. Im knackered.

Jodi- Yeah it does sound the same as what i was told about Ashleigh, at first I wasn't into leaving her to cry anytime when shes upset but now I think I'm ready to try anything. She's also hoping that the sleep clinic will help me spread out feeds and not have to always be giving her comfort feeds. Pity we didn't live closer together we could just put them down together and sort them out together!

I have to wash nappies and settle a little turd. 40 degrees here again tomorrow. the rain did bugger all. Thank god no one wants to go out at the moment, cause if I got visitors Id scare the hell out of them answering my door in my granny jocks and old maternity bra. Their cotton alright and very comfortable but do totally nothing for my sex appeal with my flabby gunt hanging out in the breeze and my gazonga bb's up tight. And if you think its stops Jed, ha b%%%hit.

hello ladies!

savanna was wonderful after her needles the other day. she slept beautifully without a problem.

I took hubby and Savanna out today to the Melbourne aquarium for a family outing.
It was sooooo fantastic!!! We had such a great time and bought lots of goodies from the gift store too. She was such an angel and was just in awe of all the huge fishys.
Hubby is a huge Marine and Reptile fanatic.
We have 3 huge 4 foot long fish tanks and 1 huge 12 foot long tank. 1 snake tank and 1reptile tank. he has 2 water dragon lizzards, 1 bearded dragon lizzard, 1 darwin carpet snake and 1 bird eating spider and many many different sorts of fish and 3 eels. Oh and our darling chiwawa Rocky. Savanna just loves sitting in her walker staring at the fish so i can just imagine how fascinated she was watching the huge sting rays and sharks swim right past her face. It was really noisy as it was soooo busy but that didnt really phase her much.


well i hope you are all well and bubbies are all behaving.
hubby has gone out to play pool so i might go to bed early.

Well, River sure was difficult tonight, but eventually I settled him, put some Bonjela on, and then let him suck my finger til those little eyelids stayed closed. Maz, that music's great, just for me, helps me stay calm and not get so frustrated when he won't sleep.

Caddie, you NAUGHTY girl! You know 'the boy who cried wolf' - tell you what, AnnaT will be pregnant and we'll all be like yeah haha AnnaT, Caddie already tried that one on us.
I know what you mean about the excited feeling though, when I tested negative I was a little disappointed cos I remember how awesome it feels to see those two pink lines.

Belle! Ditto to what the others said (and don't be mad at Mazzie, you know she did it cos she cares about you). How was Julia Goolia for you today?

Wow Jodi, that's interesting about the Ninster...the only advice I have is to watch the clock if you're waiting a few mins before you go in to her. It seems like you've waited aages when it's only been 30 seconds or something! Find something to do while you're waiting, like write an email or make a drink.

Maz, I'm about to order another BerryPlush now (I've been meaning to do it for weeks!). Does Vy have a medium? Have you tried it on her and does it fit?
And I'm also about to order some hemp terry so I can make my own boosters! How fun!

Oh man AnnaT, hope you're feeling better soon - I've been getting killer headaches too, but I think that *might* be from the times when I haven't worn my glasses at the computer - I go through phases of reeeeally needing to wear them. I could be a bit dehydrated as well, but I'm drinking up!

I reckon Xanders' troubles are a bit behavioural as well - I'm certainly no longer coming to his every beck-and-call anymore as it is just too much (tho I'm no meany either ;) ) Since he's been having the dummy he now goes about 3 or so hours between feeds... this is a first for us, as since birth he has been 1.5 to 2 hourly.

Rikki - I've already started your cake topper! It is different to the one on Xanders' cake, so I hope you like it. Owwiiiieeee to the fingernail - did it bruise?

Question for those with bubs on solids... I've just bought the bellemy's organic cereal and it said not to feed under 6 months, is this just a guideline or do I take it seriously and stick to the 4 month farex (which contains vegetable oil :confused: for some reason). Sorry, I probably sounds paranoid to all of you!

Anyway, better get back to cake topper making then off to bed for me. Big hellos to those I missed.

well belle, i didnt actually go to those beaches, since i live in lemon tree they are about 40 minutes away, but i must admit shoal bay is beautiful isnt it, but i dont even attempt to go over that side of the bay in school holidays as it is so fullon with holiday makers, so i usually just walk along the water everyday with the dog and caitlyn, i can actually follow it all around and its about 1 hour walk there and back, it sure beats walking up through th streets thats for sure, and we are one house from the water, so as craig says we live in paradise..hehehe. ill have to catch up with you on msn, and organise a day/time to meet up in feb, my msn is always on but more often than not im never on the pc, the damn kids beat mer too it! well you look after yourself and give julia a big kiss for me.

well caity has just woken so i better cut it short sorry girls BBL if i have time..........counting down the days SCHOOL BACK IN 12 DAYS, and my eldest daughter turns 14 in 19 days, that is so scary.

If DH wanted to get any of those theyd have to live outside.. as knowing my luck id wake up one morning while hes at work and the tanks would be empty!

Well Jess seems back to his self, hopefully, after a few days of mischief. Was a stinker here too last night. I woke to him screaming out this morning again half over in his cot.. silly boy. He's rolling like crazy.. he rolls then gets has a little winge cos hes stuck on his tummy, so i roll him back and he has another winge cos i rolled him back.. then he rolls over again and repeats the above.. He did a 180 last night on the floor on his tummy. What age do they start to crawl?

Anyways... tis gonna be another stinker today.. keep cool chicks.

Hey girls.. have a question for you..

Jesse was a bit constipated on Tuesday so i gave him some brown sugar and water.. well now last night and this morning he has had a bit of diarrhea. Do you think it could be just because of sugar water or could it be something to do with his needles? Im probably just being paranoid about the immunisation but yeh..

NEWS FLASH: I HAVE A NEW BABY! :dance:

We decided to take the approach that is she wakes up unsettled, whinging, but not crying, then we'd leave it for 2 or 3 minutes, then go in, don't pick her up and try to re-settle her. She was down at her usual 6.30, then at 9 she woke up unsettled, I put her on her tummy, patted her bum and she went back to sleep ... till 12.30! Then I fed her and she went back to sleep till 3.30! I tried to re-settle her but she was hungry so I fed her. She woke at 4am, but resettled HERSELF! Then woke up at 6.20!
How's that, only 2 feeds during the night and 2 re-settling's on my behalf. And she is soooo happy this morning.
I also came across a website last night with heaps of facts about babies and their behaviour, sleep, play time etc which I printed some stuff off and Heath and I read through. Another website also had a routine layout for 3-6 month olds which I'm gonna give a go. I already do most of it, but just a couple of changes.
I feel so good having a decent night sleep.

anna** - you can make your own rice cereal if you like. Have you got BabyLove book, it's in there. That's great that the booby monster is going longer between feeds, giving you a good break then. How'd he go last night?

nelle - 30 seconds does seem like forever doesn't it! I kept pacing around saying to Heath is it time yet, and he'd be like, no not yet, it's ok just another minute!

kel - nope no mail yet. I'm not surprised though, we seem to have a delay with getting mail up here. I'll let you know when it's arrived. Did you get the $$$ ? Generally, bubs start trying to crawl around 6 months, but this varies with every baby. I was crawling at 5 months. Nina isn't interested in crawling, the dr said yesterday that she has so much strength standing (she stood up unaided for 15 seconds for her) she might not crawl and just walk, which is what Heath did.

ambz - good to hear Savanna's needles didn't affect her and that she had such a good time out and about yesterday. It makes it so much easier when they behave while you're out doesn't it.

Thanks Sharleen.. will keep an eye on him and try and get him to have some water on its own. Poor bugger. He still seems happy enough at least.

Jodi.. yes, the moneys in my account, thanks. Hopefully they arrive today as i posted them Monday.. i guess being im out west of Sydney and youre in Cairns it may take a few days.. but hopefully today and then lil miss can be nice and cool this weekend.

Ohh i forgot to say.. DH and i sucessfully DTD for the first time last night since Jesse was born! I know, you may not want to know.. but im so proud.. i felt like id never be able to again! We tried once before and failed as it hurt way too much.. but this time success! It hurt a little at first but wasnt too bad in the end! WOO! DH has been so patient.. 4 months! Woah! But yay!:biggrin:

Kellxx- Yay on DTD! We've attempted once and was a failure. Too painful, BFing has made me very dry.

Jodi- Yay on Nina sleeping well. Ash slept well too last night, shes gonna make me look like a liar! Theres up to 4 week wait on sleep school so hopefully I won't need it by then. I don't know if she slept well cause drowsy from immunisations? Anyways its more her day sleep thats probs so we shall see.

ambz- Oh my god Ambz. I will never ever come to your place with a bird eating spider there. I'm scared of daddy long legs spiders. Oh its making my skin crawl thinking about it. Do you ever get paranoid bout it escaping?

Ash mustn't have had much boobie juice yesterday cause last night she didn't wake til 3 and I was soooo full. usually I can guess the time overnight by the fullness of my breasts but this was bad, I was hanging for her to wake cause I was in pain! Had to milk one side when she finally fed. I was annoyed I hadn't sterilised a bottle and pump could have expressed to practice with her sippy cup. They're still fullish now, gonna have to force milk down her throat! Its prolly cause of immunisations yesterday.

Shellbell.. i think also cos i was nervous as hell first attempt and this one is why it hurt so much at first.. but this time we bought our first bottle of lube and basically drenched DH in it lol.. so that made a HUGE difference. I was worried that theyd sewn me up too far or something as he didnt even make it in an inch last time. I say, lots of lube is the way to go. Give it a try if youre up to it.

kel - YAY on DTD! We've been naughty and been DTD since Nina was 3 weeks old, without protection!! Hopefully bf is keeping me from falling pregnant.

shell - It is possible she's a little drowsy and off from the needles. Did she get any panadol yesterday? How's this for a little angel, Nina went down WITHOUT A FUSS at 7.40 for a sleep. I feel like I have a new baby.

We've decided to get Nina into daycare 2 days per week now, so she gets a break from me. I have to organise to buy/hire an electric breast pump as the manuals doesn't do the job. I think she'll benefit from going, whadda reckon?

Yay for Nina Jodi!! haha told you it feels like forever! We're of the opinion that a bit of a cry tires them out - if they're already tired that is, with their burping, nappy and feeding needs met. So every time we let him cry, he uses up a bit more energy. It's not for everyone I guess, but it's what works for us - us holding him or whatever makes him overtired, cos he tries to keep his eyes open to see us.

Maz...I ordered the Rainforest BerryPlush...:biggrin: can't wait to get it! And I took the plunge and ordered a fleece cover as well (and some other things). Hey have you been to Theresa's store yet?

Shell, my midwife told me not to worry too much about sterilising expressers because Breastmilk has antibodies and whatever. She said I'd need to sterilise for formula til River was older though. I know lots of people say hot soapy water is enough!

Kellxx- I keep telling Df to get lube but we're both embarrassed to go get some cause we think that people will think we're using it for some other kind of sex! At present I'm too tired anyway but I know soon enough we'll be wanting to DTD!

Nelle- I know what you mean bout them using energy crying, I was never really into leaving her cry but some days i just had to let her go for 5 mins and I found when I did go back in she settled pretty quickly the so maybe thats the way for me to go.
Oh and thanks for the info on the breast pump, I always wondered if there was much point trying to sterilise it.

AnnaT- Not sure about the half days, I think child care centres will still charge you a full day even if you just use half but I think those family day care might be more flexible.

Mel09- I bet she looks very cute with the pierced ears. I'll prolly get Ashleighs done whenever she asks for it, I was never allowed to get mine, finally convinced mum at 14 and now look at me I have 3 in each ear, belly piercing and tongue!

Jodi- Yeah she has been bit drowsy from needles, was good for my sleeping though! Nina sounds like shes being fantastic. Send her over to give Ash some lessons.
Daycare sounds good for a break. Are you on a waiting list? I don't know what lists are like up there but down here they can be quite long.

Well we've been to the Drs to get our referral, she agreed with MCHN and said it sounded behavioural and she also gave me a pamphlet for sleep resource home visiting service. So if I get desperate they're there 24/ 7 and will come to your home, not sure on the cost though at least the childrens hospital clinic is free!

Shellbell.. we were too chicken too.. DH wanted to just order it online but when we were doing the grocery shopping in woolies, luckily, no one was around when we were in that isle, and we had a quick look and grabbed the Ansel one as its in a tube that looks like hand moisturiser! All the others said KY on them so we werent gonna grab them.. have a look next time.. its a white and blue tube.
