It was another early one for me too caddie. Two nights in a row now. She woke up at 3.20 and didn't go back to sleep till 4.30. I just don't know what the deal is with that.
To the girls giving bubs solids, what time of day are you doing it and how much are you giving them?
I was crawling at 5 months and walking at 9 months. I had my older sister around to play with so mum thinks that helped. I'm glad Nina isn't crawling yet. Still need to baby-proof the house. She stood on her own for 3 minutes yesterday (we timed it!) and she can walk around in her walker. She just hates being on the ground.
anna** - thanks for the chat last night. How was Xander, did he settle for the night. I lost internet connection and didn't get it back till now.
shell - I'm glad too that she drank from it. Ash will one day get the idea of it, just keep practising.
bbl, Nina's hungry
-
Nooooooooooo Shell I dont want him to move yet, Im not ready lol
Do you guys realise that in 7 weeks at the most, our babies will be half a year old :crying:
Jodi, funny you should say about having older siblings making you learn things faster, my mother swears its the opposite! My sister walked at 11mths and my brother who is a boy genius didnt walk til 14mths lol I guess cause he had his doting biggest sissy to help him.................... ;)
-
Just a question for the breastfed bubs, how long is the longest stretch your bubs will sleep for at night? Ash does a 4-5hr stint but thats from 8pm so I miss sleeping thru that one then the rest of the night can be anywhere between 2-4 hours.
-
Shell - Xander will still only do 4-5 hour stints as well... occasionally longer. I've been finding it really hard to get to sleep myself lately as well, and spending most of the day only half functioning. Wonder what it is?
Jodi - Thanks for the chat last night, was good to speak to someone who's kid is doing the same things (not surprising as they are pretty much the same age). As to solids, Xander has one tablespoon of EBM mixed with 2 tsp of rice cereal and less than one teaspoon of whatever we are trying him on (morning). At night he has just the rice cereal & EBM; same amount as in the morning.
Kellxx- It hasn't really affected his sleep patterns, but he is now feeding 3 hourly during the day ... it was hourly so much better!
AnnaT - Yay on Jett sitting up, that is really early for a boy. My little slacker is still no where near sitting up unassisted so I think I'm going to buy one of those Bumbo or Bebepod seats to help train him.
Caddie - I hope things on go upwards and onto better things from here for you.
Belle - Look forward to chatting to you hon.
Big hellos to all you other lovelies... gotta fly as I can hear my little guy getting super frustrated trying to roll again.
-
Shellbell.. I usually try giving him his dummy and playing his music, which he just plays, rolls over and complains cos hes stuck.. then i bring him in with me and he lies there complaining so we end up getting up and i feed him. After the feed he's up for the day and ready to play. He has about a 20 nap about an hour ago and he's awake again now. I'll probably put him down in his cot in about 15-30 mins and he sleeps usually until about 1pm. I know i shouldnt complain as he does sleep from 8pm until 5.30amish.. but that extra hour would make so much difference (esp when day light savings end!)
Aww i hope youre feeling better soon. I know how you feel. I just have no energy lately.
Caddie.. thankyou.. good luck with the needles.
-
going to try daycare again today... but don't think i am ready. also just rang work to find out what is happening there.... but really just wanted to say happy five months birthday to ainsleigh!!!!
-
Happy 5 months Ainsleigh!!
Are you going back to work Rikki, is that why you're putting Ainsleigh in daycare. Can you leave her there for a couple of hours while you're at home and see how you feel. If you don't feel you're ready, then you can go and get her??
shell - Nina will sleep between 6-11, have a feed then sleep, then will wake every 2-3 hours after that. It would be great if she slept through till 5 or 6 after waking at 11, but it never happens.
anna** - Nina isn't really fussed on the rice cereal anymore so I'm giving her some puree fruit in the morning. Was wondering what time of day I should introduce the second meal. Do you give Xander the second meal just before bed?
On the seat thing, I tried Nina in that yesterday, and she loved it! She loves sitting up and looking around. The only thing I found was it said 3-12 months, or up to 10kg. She didn't have much room to move in it now. She loved the little kids seats even more. Even though they're for 3yrs+ I'm going to get her one she loved it so much.

hi ya girls
Sorry Ive been AWOL
Had alot going on here - school and school interviews and meetings. Having to explain to 3 people what an autistic kid likes and doesn't and have to repeat myself.
CAddie honey - im sorry but I cried when I read your post from yesterday especially when you said you went for a walk and had some thinking time. I hear you mate. Its only gotta get better for you and Ruby from now on. IM always here.
Rikki - I tried to put Nikolaus into daycare when he was 2 months old to go back to work. I quit my job half an hour after leaving the daycare. Its to hard to do. YOu'll make the right decision for you mate.
Hello everyone else - im a slack T@RT!!!!!! IM sending you all sleeping vibes for your darlings. Vy slept form 1pm yesterday afternoon and i had to wake her up at 3.10 to pick up Nikolaus from school.
Ok I'll BBL girlies
Have nappies to hang up and washing to do, she's having a nap now.
-
i did decide to go back to work jodi... but it is starting to get difficult (politics) and i am having second thought. they have a really good orientation program there, so can take ainsleigh everyday for two weeks, starting at 20mins, and working up from there.
good luck with all the interviews etc maz. does nik have any consistency from last year (staff etc)
we're off to swimming this morning...can't wait!
-
Jodi - I think Bellemy's make a baby oats as well as the rice cereal, maybe Nina would like that better? Xander loves his rice cereal more than anything! I give him his second taste of food at about 6pm, which is a couple of hours before he goes to bed; tho I never try him on anything new at that time in case his tummy gets upset.
Rikki - I don't blame you for reconsidering... I loved my job, but I just couldn't bring myself to leave bub at daycare. The one you did mention to me sounds pretty good tho, but if there is a lot of sh*t going on where you work..... hmmm, decisions, decisions. Enjoy swimming and Happy 5 Months to Ainsleigh.
Maz - Can you write out some sort of list so you don't need to keep repeating yourself?
Well Xander has finally gone to sleep... so better go do some washing and cleaning up. My DH(ead) has decided that seeing as I'm home that he no longer feels the need to pick up after himself... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
-
Rikki - Nikolaus has the same teachers again this year. Its Wilhelm who has the fun of all the new ones (he's my autistic guy) New kinder and im thinking I might put him into the special schools prep system yet, have to ring the princpal there this morning. Have fun swimming mate, Im thinking I might do that with Vy when both boys are at school.
Anna - Ive made a booklet but its to much for the idiots to understand and they ask me the same question over and over. Looks like the lseeping vibes from Vy have found Xander. lol
Jed and i tangoed last night without any protection. Hmmm have to be very careful cause I fall pg at a drop of a hat. AF is due in 3 days but that often doesnt mean pooh
ok off to make these phone calls
BBL
-
Is it her first swimming lesson ... sorry I'm slack and can't remember previous posts!!! Good luck. I'm starting Nina in a couple of weeks, can't wait!!
That's great about their orientation program, makes things a lot easier for you.
annat - my younger brother was very lazy and didn't walk till he was 14 months or something, probably cause me & my sister would carry him everywhere! I was very full-on apparently and just wanted to be up and about. The things I did when I was a baby, my god! I hope Nina's not the same.
maz - good to hear Vy is having good sleeps during the day. You're wonder woman you are, all those kids and you've still got time to come and chat to us. I've only got one bub and some days I don't have time to come on here at all.
kel - lucky thing! having Jesse sleep long periods at night. You're definitely doing something right there! Send some of that sleep vibes up my way to pass onto Nina.
She's asleep now. She normally has a morning nap around 8am, but it's 10am now, a little late, but that's ok. I've got to do some more shopping today to buy work clothes, and I'm meeting with my new boss to discuss what hours I can work etc.
-
I've never heard of that brand Anna. I'll try her on the rice cereal again and see how she goes. She just might have been a little fussy the other day with it.
maz - naughty naughty!! although I can't talk cause Heath and I don't use protection EVER!
-
Bellemys is the organic one Jodi... I decided not to use the Farex when I saw that it contained vegie oil - tho I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem with most bubs (I'm just fussy!)
-
hey girls,
i just went down to the school and enrolled her for julys intake lol. my baby girl is getting big to quick. she loved the look of it and got to meet some of the teachers and got some stuff for her uniform.
kellxx- good luck on trying to get him to sleep longer i found that when riley started eat food he was alot happier and slept better had a fewbad days but just upped his food intake a bit more and he is happy and sleeping all night.
ill be back later
adele
-
Finally she's asleep! She's been awake since just after 8. put her down at 9:45 she grizzled for 20mins then screamed for just over an hour, couldn't take it anymore so got her out of bed, fed her again and she just grizzled til she finally fell asleep! Never seen her look so tired.
adele- i didn't know schools had a July intake. How does that work?
Sharleen- Stuff the housework, put your feet up instead.
Jodi- your new boss sounds like he/she is flexible if they're willing to discuss what hours you can work. How exciting and good excuse to go out to buy some nice clothes.
rikki- Happy 5 months to Ainsleigh!
Ah feel better now I've managed to make some lunch, think a cup of tea is also needed.
-
Jodi - Vy's turned into a real fussy eater now to, she hates chicken and pasta stuff but loves farex with fruit?? go figure. Ah at me and you being naughty...worst thing is half way through, I bump my toe and owies, I screamed. Jed thought it was because I was excited. PMSL now, not at the time but.
Anna - must kiss your buttox for putting me onto the bellemys to hon. Vy loves it better than the other one. God knows why.
Sharleen - blow those storm cloudes down here when your done please. Im so jealous.
Shell - YAY for Ashleigh sleeping for you. have a cuppa for me.
Adele - I migh tbe able to get Wilhelm into Prep yet, spoke to his principal at special school and she's going to try to pull some strings for me. fingers crossed.CR@P Ive just been spewed on

HAPPY 5 MONTHS AINSLEIGH!!!!!
I have a ton of packing to do before leaving tomorrow and I need to find his pack and play and hose it down so he can sleep in it. Do you think I have anything done? NOPE. Plus Dh was having a tanty this morning and now my lounge room has crap all over the floor. Jett is super grumpy and wont go to sleep so Ive left him to grizzle on his playmat, I just cant spend ten hours rocking him til he finally drops off and I feel guilty about it.
Ohhhhhh I dont hear anything...................
Ive been thinking about my labour and delivery lately (maybe its all those shows on Foxtel Ive been watching). Everytime I think about it I just get so happy and excited that it was better than I ever dreamed it would be and I got the one I wanted. I could almost cry  Im such a looney. I definately want to do it again though, heck I would do tomorrow if I could.
Please tell me SOMEONE here feels the same way?
-
shellbell- they do intakes every term at the school she is going to. cause she starts in july she will do 6 term of prep insted of 4 if she was to start at the start of the year.
maz- yeah that good they might be able to do that 4 you let me know they can. well done on winning the photo comp.
GO VY U SEXY THING LOL
annat- wow i was like that aftyer i had akira but after having riley i dont have that feeling anymore. i had such a good labour with them both i think my body has had enough. iykwim.
well im off talk to u all later
-
Maz- Congrats on your pic winning! I'd love to have more of a creative mind to be able to come up with good ideas for these photo comps. Well we must be clever girls in here seeing as Rach won Dec comp and now you Jan comp, who gonna win the Feb?
AnnaT- Lol I watch all those shows too except now I think OMG poor woman I know exactly what your going thru and seeing them in all that pain I say to Df "we're not having anymore" But then when the bub is brn I'm like "aw how cute, look how little!"
Ash has just gone down for another nap, Yay, this time without all the drama's. I'm so lazy I'm still in my PJ's! Can't be bothered, today is a rest day well rest as much as I'm able to.
-
damn maz, thought i had it right when i said nikolaus... is more important for wilhelm to have consistency (obviously  ) that's a shame it's all new for him. hopefully you can get in to the prep at the special school where they may understand his needs better.
anna** - it is the daycare i talked to you about... and it's great, and ainsleigh was fine ... it's me that's not! never thought i'd be a wuss like that!!!
well, felt better about daycare today. i left her there (for 15mins lol) then we went swimming. she loved swimming, it's really just playing in the warm water (hydro pool) then the mums do an exercise class and volunteers rock any bubs who are still awake after their swim. was fun, and went with two girls from MG which was even better. going again on monday as we have a talk about solids next thurs.
best go and do some housework.... been out all day!!!
:hello:
-
Ruby had her needles and was fine. Some swelling in her thighs but okay. Her teeth r hurting more i think. It was me that was the looney.I just about had a nervous breakdown.I let it all bottle up and so when i seen the nurse and dr i had a cry about ruby's head and just motherhood in general and no support.
I have got orientation next week about the playgroup to see weather i like it for millana.Just a half day.If she doesnt like it or i dont she wont be going.Hubby will be ****ed off as its my job to look after the kids.
Okay,happy 5 months ainsleigh!!
Congrats maz! i knew vy would win.
-
Off to Sydney til Sunday.
Have a good weekend!
-
Good morning!
Had a spack attack of a night last night. We decided to get pizza for a change.. had one of those docket things for $9.95 delivered and Pizza Hut said we had to order 2 pizzas to use it.. we only had $10 cash on us and wouldnt eat 2 pizzas! Dominos said we had to spend a minimum of $15! So i was VERY disappointed as we havent had pizza sincer before Jesse was born. Well that started it all off.. i got all teary, DH got all defensive as that i was angry with him.. all i wanted was a hug but he walked out of the room thinking i was ****ed off at him.. so i spent the rest of the night crying in the bedroom.. I think everything that has happened over the past year had just caught me up. He ended up coming in asking what he did wrong and didnt believe that it wasnt him i was upset with.. thought he was a bad husband etc.. so i had to keep saying its not you! But in the end all was good and we were all cuddly again.
Jesse woke at 4.30am this morning! I put his dummy in and he went backt o sleep until 5.30am.. then kept rolling over and crying for me to roll him back and so on and so on.. that went on until about 6.10am.. then he slept until 7.30am, which im so glad as i needed that little extra sleep after the waterworks last night.
Jodi.. i send some sleeping vibes with the bodysuits.. they must have fallen out or that postman who was steeling all the mail took them out!
YAY Its finally raining here too Sharleen!! Wooo :happyforyou:
Adele.. yeh we've decided we might try Jesse on some solids next week.. whether it helps his sleep or not, i think he's ready. From what my magazine says the signs are they take note in what youre eating (he doesnt take his eyes off us when we're eating and always tries to grab some), he can hold his head up and sits fine in his high chair (is nearly sitting on his own on the floor too).. So will see how he goes.. still very nervous though. Where did everyone feed them first off? like in a high chair or bouncer?
Hi everyone else..
Gotta run, heard some poo grunts.
xx
-
so will it be a holiday or a bfp.........my temp went op this morning....check out my chart what do u girls think? i might test on sunday?
kell, i often find everything catches up with me too and have a big cry, and craig thinks its him, but its often, not, i hope you are feeling better today sending you a great big hug.
my husband is giving me the $ hits at the moment, he quit his job a couple of weeks ago, so he is driving me insane being home and not doing a F**king thing, cant even look after caityn, or for that matter, change bum, feed her, he is such a lazy pr**K, and how the f**k are we going to eat with no F**king money?????????????? i wont keep going as caitlyn is crying and he is just sitting there listening, so i better go get her.
-
caddie - I hope you feel better after talking with someone and getting it off your chest. We're all here for you whenever you need to talk.
kel - Thank god Nina behaved last night and didn't wake up demanding to be played with! She woke up for 2 feeds which is normal and woke up briefly at 4.40, but I turned her mobile on and she drifted off back to sleep at 5 and woke at 7.
Hate to rub it in but we had pizza last night, but it tasted like crap! So you weren't missing out on much ;)
annat - have a good weekend.
chrissy - I don't know if I should say good luck or not? I don't know anything about charts so can't help you there. Bummer bout hubby quitting his job. If Heath was around here all the time he'd drive me bonkers too.
We've been having some huge rainfall this week and a mega storm last night. There are 2 lows up north, one which they think may turn into a cyclone.
Expressing is going really well. I'm able to express between 50-100ml each time, which takes about 5-10 minutes. Although 9pm last night I expressed 120ml. Dunno if this is good, maybe it'll get better as time goes??
-
kellxx- i got riley on rice cereal frist then a tiny bit of fruit after that now he is on everything lol. dont worry to much he will be fine.
chrissy - smack him out.
well im off to do house work
later
Adele
-
sharleen - yeah I'm freezing it. I'm freezing it in 50ml lots, some are in 100ml lots as she has big feeds every now and then. I was a little stressed about it all last night, thinking I won't have enough in time for her to go to daycare. So that's why at 9.30 last night I was expressing!
kel - I always feed Nina in her highchair. In the bouncer she kept bouncing and I'd miss her face!
-
Hi girls,
I didnt end up doing the hypnotherapy we ended up talking mostly about my marriage and how to get through the panic attacks, so next week will be going the hypnotherapy.
I just spoke with Anna, shes not feeling well it looks like she may be coming down with the Whooping Cough..so shes going back to the doc today, she cant come online at the moment as everytime she gets online she goes to google and its making her more anxious reading about whooping cough and her being sick is not helping either. She will be back online soon.. Please send your thoughts to her and Xander and lets hope they dont get it really bad as the babies in the Mothers Group seem to be quite sick from it.
Bel

Maz!!! Thanks so much for the scrap stuff, nappies and dvd's.You are such a good friend.
I need those at the moment.
Chrissy, looks promising.I know you dont want a bfp but if you got one id be so excited and i think you will be too in the end.
BBL,trying to get ready and meet a swedish friend thats on holiday in oz.She use to be in our mothers group until she moved home.
-
Anna, thats why i cried so much yesterday!! Too much googling. My dr said no more!!!!! Thinkung of you,and hope your not getting whooping cough.
-
caddie- Enjoy the meet up with your friend, hopefully you'll get to relax and not stress too much about everything that is going on.
Anna- Hugs to you, try not to worry too much, make sure you have plenty of rest. How is Xander is he showing any signs? Let us know what the Dr says.
Belle- Did you get some good advice about coping with the panic attacks? Hope it works for you.
Jodi- Sounds like the expressing is going really well. When is your first shift?
chrissy- Hmm hard to say looking at your chart, your temp could keep going up then just drop on the day AF comes. How many days post O'tion do you usually get AF?
Kellxx- hugs. Sometimes we need a good cry to let everything out! Men need to understand this, whenever i feel in a teary mood i warn Df and tell him I am sensitive.
AnnaT- Enjoy your weekend you lucky thing! i want to come with you.
Ash has gone back to screaming for a long time before her day naps. Things were improving but gone backwards again. She is in my lap at moment, still hasn't had a sleep this morn. She looks tired as anything but at least shes not screaming while I cuddle her, just she gets so heavy!
-
anna** - thinking of you and Xander hun. Hope to hear from you soon.
belle - Hopefully you got some good advice regarding the attacks and your marriage issues. Have you been able to do any of the stuff I mentioned the other day?
caddie - STOP GOOGLING!!! you too Anna ;)
shell - what settling techniques have you tried with Ash? Is she too hot or too cold maybe? When you're next online chat to me and we'll throw some ideas around together to try and get her to sleep, without a screaming match.
What's that book you're reading ATM? Something about sleep ... I wanna buy it but don't know the name.
My first shift is next Wednesday, which is Nina's first day at daycare too
-
Thanks everyone. Feeling a bit better today.. though my eyes still feel like powder puffs from crying. Got a nice sms from DH this morning saying he and Jess love me and that i should just do what i need to to relax and let him help me too. So made me feel better.
Chrissy.. aww you poor thing. DH needs to get a better job too as his pay is absolute crap.. but he doesnt even know what he wants to do. He has a Film degree but theres no jobs and currently works on a horse stud looking after race horses.. so he has diddly squat experience in any other industry. Problem too is he is lazy too.. he'll get all motivated and look for a job and then when theres nothing or he doesnt hear back he gives up. They dont realise how long it takes these days to find a job so they need to just keep at it.
Jodi.. oh thats great.. hope you got some good sleep too.
Adele.. yeh i think im going to have to research what to do and what to feed them as i wouldnt have the foggiest. Im seeing my sister this weekend so will ask her what she did with her kids.
Anna**.. oh you poor pet.. i pray that you and Xander will be ok.
Well gonna go clean up before DH gets home.. am going up to my parents this weekend.
Just noticed theres new smileys.. :( :p
-
Just popping on as (SURPRISE!!) I'm behind in the things I want to get done today
Anna mate, hope you guys aren't sick. Ach, River's crying, think he's just bored though :p
Later lovelies.
-
i have a i lttle girl who is very misserablke today and has a slight temp. i cant put her down AT ALL! She slep 12 hours straight but has been a total COW!
BBL girls...for personals
-
Happy five months vy... hope you're feeling better and being a good girl for Mummy!
Stupid question for you maz, but where do you view the photos (or do you have to be a full member to see them).
-
not sure Rikki IN the platinum general chatter thread and look under January, i think
-
that pic of vy is absoultly GEORGEOUS MAZ, you are very talented
-
Yep it is nice (it's also on Maz's homepage I think Rikki), and I don't think non-plat members can see the pics cos I think it's perhaps a privacy thing, like not any old joe can come on bellybelly and see the pics, cos you have to be a paid member? Maybe that's it.
Anyway. I'm going for good now :p
