well Nina is verrrrry close to crawling, getting up on all 4's, and yesterday she took a couple of crawling movements, towards the dogs. She really wants those dogs!

Bails is awke too early this morning. His room his near the front door so he hears Rick leaving and Rick crashes around the house as it is every morning getting ready for work. I get up with Rick (5.30am am I nuts?) and am quiet as a mouse. No idea why when Ricks making enough noise for the whole darn street.:clap: on ya Rick!

MIL gave me the sh*ts last night. Went over to have a bday dinner for Pop and Nan (MIL) gave Bailey some ice cream, just a lick. I said that he was not getting any more until his first birthday. What does she do, completly UNDERMINDS me and gives him more. What am I, a book on a friggen shelf???? Listen to me woman....gggrrrrggggggrrr:angry: I know it was such a small amount but can't Rick and I be the first ones to give him treats like that?

Caddie: How cool was Sarahmaree. I wish they would put all the winner and 2nd place getters in the house rather than brand new people. She looks awesome now. Sometimes when I see a pic of her it takes my brain a bit to register that its her.

Im going to ring the OB back today, apparently you cant conceive for 3 months after taking the doxycycline :wall: So now Im ****ed and if thats the case, I'll take my chances with the bacteria having a EENSY WEENSY link to m/c.
I got no sleep last night between feeling nauseous and Jett waking at midnight, 3am, 5am and 6:30am. He only went back down at 7:30am.

Another night of hourly waking over here, hes' got a cold of some sort but gonn apop him up to the Doctors' today just to make sure he doesn't have an ear infection (he's been pulling his ears a lot lately). I wound up sleeping on Xanders bedroom floor just so I wouldn't have so far to go when he woke... must've been totally sleep deprived as there is a perfectly good bed in the room next to his!
Jodi & Rikki - Yeah, come on over... I'll put the heater on for the spa so it's nice and toasty. It's an 8 seater, so plenty of room!
Vixstar - I would've been annoyed too about you MIL giving icecream. This is the reason why we don't give any treats like that at all whilst other people are around that are likely to want to give more. Not that we've even given more than a lick off my finger, but anyhow.
Annie - WTG Alexander with crawling! Yep, time to babyproof. LOL and here is me with a house that is pretty much baby proofed and a kid no where near crawling.
Gonna try and get a nap whilst Xander is on his mat.

Well I gotta go and grab a shower while I can. I have my own pumpkin patch on my carpet. Such a mess, Eithan had pumpkin and wild rice for tea to help clear some blockage, well he did it during nappy free time while I was out of the room. I cam back, half on towel, half on carpet, rolled over in it and all over him and squished into the carpet. I have cleaned and cleaned, but still have a pumpkin patch.

She once told me, well more than once anyways, that she put Bundi on DH's dummy to settle him! She also use to put SUGAR on DH's food so he'd eat it when he was a baby! Hense why DH now is very fussy and wont eat veges or try anything new! This is also why she has never baby sat Jesse and for as long as i can possibly take it, she wont.

anna** - hopefully it's just a cold. nina's ears cleared up within a couple of days once we started the ab. bummer about last night though. It's gotta be teeth or ears, cause i don't think they're going through a growth spurt, are they. We have a spare bed next to nina's room, but I too have slept on the floor, less walking distance!
annat - hugs sweetie. It must be so hard for you at the moment, trying to decide what to do. What sort of chance have they given for a m/c should you not take the doxycycline?
shell - dunno yet. I've still got AF, so I'm thinking once that has finished then we might start, cause when I said to Heath I wanted to start now, he said 'but you've got your peiod' duh!

Jodi - um its only a weak link between this bacteria and m/c which to me means that they cant directly and fully say it caused the m/c but in studying it they did find instance of m/c. If that makes sense. Considering Ive already had 4 m/c I figure my odds are high for another one either way right? A friend on another site researched the drug and found something saying you cant get pregnant for 1 week after taking the doxy. Well I'd be lucky if Im 7dpo one week after taking the doxy which isnt even implantation time soooooooooooo we might still be ok.
Its driving me insane.
Maz - Im only sterilising Jetts bottles once a week now.

OBGYN rang back, we're still cool to TTC even on the meds because they only pose a risk to an embryo developing bones and teeth which doesnt happen til end of first trimester!

I have a feeling Jesse is going to be a drummer! All he ever does is bang things!! He discovered that the lid from his FP shape cookie jar, when you thow it down on the tiles makes a big banging sound! Now he's lying on the floor kicking the tv cabinet doors cos it makes a banging noise! All he does is bang things and kick things and when they make a good bang he just keeps going. Heres me hoping hes going to be a guitarist as i have 2 guitars to hand down.. ah well maybe #2 will ;)

well CH went ok Jack hasn't put on much weight but he is still a big boy only 8720grm so just under a 200grm gain for the month :( he was putting that on a week before, but he is way more active now but still :( he has gainded 1.5cm so is now 71.5cm
didn't like the CHN she was a fill in and very overtop in going on about people have too many visits and as long as babies are happy active etc their weight doesn't matter *rolleyes* I like knowing Jack is gaining weight he is and always has been a small milk drinker so it is comforting to know he is gaining weight
anyway quick ?? she was going on about introducing meats and stuff he has only been on solids since the 1st April isn't that rushing it a bit :dunno: also wants me to try and get him into a breakfast/lunch/dinner routine I dont know does this sound a bit too much for a baby who has been on solids only just over 3 weeks, I mean he is a great sleeper 9-13 hours depending on his mood overnight some days he has 3-4 40min naps other fday just 1 or sometimes a 2 hr nap so its not like he is up all night hungry please someone give me some advice

rach - follow your gut with the feeding routine. Sounds like the woman was a text book mummy, god I hate them. Ignore her, you know whats best for your little man. Has he become more active in the last month??? Crawling around more? He'd be burning up alot of store so to speak if he is honey.
Ness - NO WAY!!! how rude of the chick. Tell her to go to block buster or somewere and hire the buggers if she's going to do that. $600 worth of DVD's is a lot to lend to some one if your gonna get a) nothing in return b) possible scratches on your DVD's c) in the pooh big time if it comes back that you lent her the DVD"s in the first place d) what happens if you DONT get your DVD's back???

Maz, yes Jack is a lot more active he is movign a lot more and having less down time I'm not overly concerned about his weight gain he has been 75% for so long I think a little drop wont hurt, he was 75 % for everything is now maybe 70% weight the rest still 75% so no biggie, it was mainly the amount of food she seemed to want me to give him thats was like *woah* up he has only been on it 3 weeks :dunno:

It's confusing isn't it Rach! Riv's still on one solids feed in the arvo, and I'm wondering when to introduce another feed! I have no idea! What are other people's food routines! I kinda don't want him not to need my milk, should I add some solids in with his lunchtime milk too? Just do what you think he's ready for.

Ok, our food/milk/sleep routine is this on most days
( times are rough, no way alexander wakes up at 6.30am every day.. somtimes its 5.30!)
6 .30 - wakes, booby, up for around 2 hours
8.30-10.30 wakes, booby, brunch - normally farex with fruit .
10.30-12.30 awake for around 2 hours or until tired
12.30-4pm sleeps
4.00-6.30 wakes, booby, food ( maybe veges or some banana)
6.30 bath time and cuddles
7.30 last booby for the night and bed
Then if i cam lucky he wont wake until another feed around 10.30.. then he will wake again around 3am..
Sometimes if he is unsettled i will give him some more food.. i normally feed him booby first.

Rach- Just go about things in your own time, take it slow. We haven't really tried Ash with meat yet, she has tried beef in the jar but thats it. We're still trying fruits and vegies and will get to that when we want to.
How much is he eating per sitting? If hes still not having all that much I don't think you need to rush into 3 meals/ day as yet.
Oh and with the weight I know they can slow down in their gain as they get older so don't be concerned.
Nessa- tell her for $600 she can copy them all! Lol.
Kell- Lol, they love banging things don't they, hurts though when she bangs me with something!

Seems like by the end of the year most of people in here are gonna be TTC! At the moment I am just too tired to even contemplate another!
Although Ashleigh is starting to settle better and sleep longer at night, since she is eating more solids she seems to be getting into more of a pattern/ routine and has cut down to 2 sleeps, although when she decides to just cat nap for those she gets grumpy cause then its too long in evenings til bedtime.
ETA: Nelle- Ash still has plenty boobies and 3 solids/ day, usually I'll give solids bout 45mins-1hr after breast feed. It varies, I usually try give solids at 9am, 1pm and 5-5:30pm and booby wherever it fits in cause she'll feed 3 hourly roughly, sometimes can go longer and occasionally wants it sooner.

Ness.. no way.. i wouldnt.. it is illegal and you both can get in trouble if youre caught out.
Rach.. do what suits you. Every baby is different. With Jesse we started with breakfast then after a week did dinner.. he then didnt start the 3rd meal until a month after he first started. I think when he was on them for a month also we gave him some meats.. but they were all the jar ones. He's had beef, chicken (loooves chicken!) and Lamb.. but the lamb caused him to be constipated (lamb is very rich) so we havent tried that again yet. But do what makes you feel comfortable. With the weight gain.. Jesse is heavier but in the last just under a month has only put on 20grams. He is 10kgs now, but is also crawling.. so like Maz said, is burning off the fat that way too. And you can go to the clinic as often as you like, thats what theyre for! She just sounds like a lazy a$$ and obviously didnt want to do any work today. In the end, you are the mummy and its your choice how you do things, nothing you do is the wrong way.
Nelle.. our routine is:
7am.. bottle
8.30-9am.. breakfast (either rice or mixed cereal made with formula and fruit puree for flavour)
9.30am.. nap
11am.. (or whenever he wakes if later) Bottle
1pm.. lunch (yogurt & some toast or arrowroot biscuit .. if we're out one of those golden valley fruit purees)
3pm.. bottle, then nap
5.30-6pm.. dinner (jar stuff as hes a fussy boy and wont eat mummy's cooked food)
6pm.. (or after dinner) bath
7pm.. bottle , book, bed.
Cos ive cut him down to 4 bottles he still just has them ever 4 hours or so.. rather than at each meal time. When i cut him down to 3 bottles, he'll have one when he wakes, after lunch and then one before bed.
But on introducing another meal.. if he's going good guns on his one meal now and is happy with it, then just try another at a different time. Remember all new tastes he may screw his face up, they just need some time to get use to them.. guess its really just trial and error for both of you. If it doesnt agree with him, then hold off for a week or so and try again later.
Shell.. Ash's twin Jesse has done the same with the sleep times. He use to have 3 but has cut back himself to a morning and afternoon nap. Id just been going on when he looked tired and that seems to be suiting him. Ive been finding hes getting a better nap now too and sleeps anywhere from 1 hour to 2.5 hours, whereas before he'd only nap for about half an hour. Oh they do with the banging! Hehe as long as theyre happy :)

thanks everyone, Jack is on 2 small meals well really tastes a day, he was having a fruit puree and a vegie feed a day
today he had farex with a little apple/mango puree in it after his first bottle
tried him on broccoli at around 1pm but wasn't interested, and to be honest me thinks he hates it, it is very boring alone, so am going to mix it with carrot tonight
he has carrot or sweet poatato will take around 4 TBL at a time, farex about 4 tsp mixed with water, fruit purees around 2 TBL, he also has had a rusk the last few days so I *dunno* god why dont they tell you bout how hard this is when ya have a baby, like I have read dont give mince, unless you mince your own, or sausages as there is no real nutritional value in them, then CHN was saying mix some gravy in with his vegies WTF!!! I dont know I think I will just keep going the way we are, I will try to get to bilo to go to wollies and have a look at the organic range for custards or something like that

Rach - You are his mummy and you have to trust your instincts on what is right for your boy... there is so much conflicting info out there! Soooo... politely take all advice on offer, and then use what bits you like the sound of. ETA: I posted a banana custard recipe not long ago in this thread. So easy to make and cheaper than buying jars of it.
Xander has just started something that resembles a bit of a pattern in his day (after wanting bb every 90mins for over 6 months!). ROughly it goes something like this (I said roughly - this isn't a routine)
5am - BOOBIEEEEEEE time (sometimes he'll go back to sleep after this)
8am - Top up boobie and breakfast
9am - Nap
11.30am - More boobie
12noon - Lunch
1pm - Nap
3pm - 150mL formula
5.30pm - More boobie
6pm - Dinner then bathtime
6.30pm - Top up boobie
7pm Bedtime
He wakes during the night, but can usually get away with just offering water.

Maz - I stopped sterilising when Xander reached 6 months, just use hot soapy water or dishwasher now. How are things at your place today? Hopefully settled down a bit now?
Shell - Really great news that Ash is starting to sleep better at night now.
OH... news on Xander. I was right, knew I should trust my instincts. Took him to the doctors today, he's got an ear infection... no wonder he has been so miserable. Hopefully the antibiotics will work fast.

Rach.. you sound like youre doing an alright job as it is to me. Its all just trial and error. I know i wish they told me or warned me how hard the foods would be.. but thank gawd i have the girls on this forum. Im going to PM you a few links that someone sent me to website about solids. Ive found then really helpful. The first one has pictures so i think that helps alot too.

I think I will just stick with what I am happy with for now, I am very padantic about added sugars and salt etc, am doing all his vegies from fresh produce, and fruits etc are the organic baby food varieties, really not that much more $$ than normal bubs food, but has no additives etc, I also like they dont have gluten etc, I think if I was to cut gluten out of my diet I would be a lot healthier but well I love my pasta and white bread :lol:
anyway I feel better after reading your replies, I tried to bring it upo at mums group but well that was a bust *sigh*
ok best go Jack is donw for a nap he has been so full on this arvie, just wanting me to be with him, so when I did floors popped him in the walker and he chased me while I vacumed LOL the whole time :lol:
ok best go fix dinner having meatballs tonight so should do it while Jack is napping

anna** - the antibiotics should clear the infection up in a couple of days. Nina has had 2 ear infections so far, and both times they've cleared up within days.
maz - I do the same as anna with the sterilizing (thanks to anna telling me you can do that ;) ) I figure nina eats everything off the floor anyway.
