Everyone else Hi ! i am so slack at the moment !
:hug: to you belle, it seems like we both had a horrible day yesterday, i spend all afternoon in tears, as caitlyn has bad colic and wont settle, she has been like it for days, and its so hard to see her in so much pain, so we both decided to try her on formula, and see how she would respond, well she loves it and there is none of that agony type of cry anymore, it upset me so much to give up the boob, after only 3 weeks, but i have to do what is best for her, so i had a teary night, and now my boobs are so full, i think im growing boulders on my chest, craig thinks there GREAT :eek: but im in so much pain at the moment with them, just had to drive into the shops to stock up on formula, teats, bottles, an expense i was not expecting yet but at least i have a happy baby now, i really hope julia likes her bottles as much as caityn took to them.
any ideas girls on how to stop my bobbies hurting so much, i know i can go to the doctors to get tablets to dry me up, but any of you girls got any other ideas?

Charli, we only bought our block at xmas last year, but we were looking at the same $$ wise to buy at Turkey which has nothing so I am glad we bought at Agnes
we paid $170000 for the block which is 4 acres, had been fully cleared still big trees but all the scrub was gone, it has a shed on it, with kitchen bath and bedroom, the only down side is we have a pit toilet *ewww* hopefully once we get our reno's finshed here at home we can start looking at maybe a removal house for down there
anyway should eb trying to get every thing done *sigh* I am so disorganised LOL
and we wont be going to rocky now, just found out mum has a couple of kids coming into care this weekend (she's a foster carer) and well I dont want Jack at just under 3 weeks around starnge people to much
so have promised her I will make a day trip to Rcoky in the next few weeks, I have to go up for a smear test in Niv so will spend the night then :)
well better stop procrastinating and get some stuff done
got do some ironing, fold some clothes, make our bed , tidy our room, and hang out small load of Jacks stuff, vac/wash floors, put good clothes in car, and do bottles also got 5 more annoucements to make *yawn*

was wondering about drying uop milk too, I mean I had nothing till day 8 and they are still leaking big time *sigh* but I suppose at least they aren't hard hard, I feel for you there, but every now and then I get sharp stabbing pain I dont want to tak eanything Iam enough tablets as it is
Also expressing just to relieve the pressure also helps dry up.I basically didnt need tablets and would just express enough so it wouldnt hurt and i eventually stopped making milk! I just had to wear breast pads for a week for small leaks and for that week i still had a let down feeling when i would feed ruby with a bottle.

Hey, here's my quandry: I want to express from my always full right boob for comfort...but if I keep expressing from it, won't it keep making more milk than I need and therefore I'll always have that problem and then keep needing to express? Do you know what I mean?
Belle, unless you are deliberately making things difficult, or sticking pins into Julia, or trying to sell her on ebay (I fantasised about putting Riv in the rubbish bin earlier - only for a split second though); then you are not a bad mum!
I fret about these sort of things too, what if he's not getting enough, what if a dummy wrecks his teeth, what if...and Rans says 'how many kids die from having to drink formula or have braces'? Just look at it in perspective honey, is she alive and mostly (or occasionally will do) content? Will she even remember anything about this? Of course you do the best you can for her, and what more could anyone expect? Hugs mate, I bet you do a great job, and really what does a baby care about b/feeding vs formula as long as they get fed and snuggled :p

Oh Ambz, yay for a settled baby, Rans gave Riv his first massage last night, so cute...made for a peaceful baby for awhile :)
Mum ended up buying the rocker, so Riv's in it at the moment and...silence! (There was sqwaking at first and I thought OH NO it's not going to work, but then I popped the dummy in too and...ta daaa!)
Actually, better go have a shower before he unsettles himself...and some more food, man I can't believe how hungry I get!

Hi girls... sorry I've been such a super slacker with posts lately. Just been so tired.. and busy! Alexander had his 2 month jabs today, I cannot believe how fast the time is flying. He got a bit upset when they jabbed him, but he soothed easily, had a little nap then a huge feed and now is sitting in his bouncer smiling at me (so I think I've been forgiven!)
Bel - Hope you're feeling a bit better about things today, you are doing a great job with Julia hon... try not to worry.
Jodi_Lee - Hope you get better soon! Nina seems to be sleeping so well for you (lucky duck!)
Caddie - Wow.. sounds like little Ruby has ambition to be a much bigger baby with all that feeding! Maybe she will sleep through for you tonight.
Nelle - It's a bit tricky to learn, but if you try to express from one boob whilst feeding Riv on the other, you'll probably get heaps more out. My right boob always has more milk in it than the left (I've been told this is normal) - it's only settled down and stopped getting engorged in the last couple of weeks... apparently it takes about 6 weeks for your body to learn how much milk it needs to make.

Well, I'm off to the post office whilst the little man is still happy. I bought some infant panadol just in case, but it doesn't look like we're gonna need it.
Anna** - that's great that Xander isn't affected too much from the needles. Nina is going next Tuesday :eek: and I'm going to make sure Heath is with me for that one!
ambz - every night we give Nina a bath in that lavendar stuff followed by a massage with baby oil. It's her night time routine, same time every night, and Heath does it every time. She now knows that when the water is turned on what that means and she just lays there smiling and waiting. She's always content after her bath.
rach - $170k for 4 acres, you lucky duck. I'd love that!!
Chrissy - I wet flannels (face washers) and froze them (sound weird I know) then put them on my bb's to relieve the pressure. The mid wives at the hospital told me to do this and it really did help. I got fluid tablets from the doctor this time though and they didn't do half the job the flannels did. Good luck mate and I hope your 'girls' dont hurt for too long.
Nelle - Im PMSL at you. I didn't even think of ebay (lol).
Belle - honey, breath in breath out. I know were your coming from with the whole guilt boobie / formula thing. But look at Caddie, Chrissy, Nat, Rikki and me. We all tried and fell on our bums honey. We're all got other kids bar Rikki and our miracles are striving. Remember some one wise once told me (last month) happy mummy, happy baby and its true. Babies love affection more than anything and I'll be she'll do a turn around real soon.
Jodi -Anna - we've got needles in 2 weeks and im making Jed come with me cause we have to get Wilhelm to get his 4 yo ones aswell. I'll be needing a vallium that day.

Just wondering if all you girls with unsettled or colicy babies have tried those baby hammocks? A friend of Df has a little bub who would not settle and they said they hired one of these and say its a god send and they haven't looked back. We were considering hiring one for when Ash gets unsettled. It will save me carrying her round the house all day. i just wonder if they get too used to them and then how do they settle when they are too big to go in it. Anyone tried one?
Anna**- Can't believe little Alex is already 2 months old! Where does the time go?
chrissy- Don't feel too bad, sounds like you've done whats best for caitlyn, thats most important thing, hopefully now you will have some settled days and get your sanity back.
*Belle*- Thanks for that belle, I have written down your e-mail address in case I need it. I'm going to try follow the MCHN advice and see how she goes. This morn I forced Ash to have an extra 10 mins on boob and it did seem to help her settle for her sleep, she went down with no probs, but it was only the first test so we will see how the rest of the day goes.
I hope things start sorting out for you, try not to feel bad about it, i guess its hard not to cause I know how hard you've been trying, just remember you have put your best effort in. My SIL had prob with her son that she was not making enough milk and had to supplement with formula, made her and bubs feel alot calmer.
Laurin- With Ash we have tummy time, sometimes she plays under those things where you have hangy things that jingle and have mirrors, (what are they called?) or we just cuddle and chat and make faces. Thats all she really does at this age.
So have you bumped into Angelina Jolie over in Namibia? your kids could play together!
I'm wondering if my leaking has to do with feeding jack, cause I leak heaps after I have given him hi sbottle, ir just makes no sense when he hasn't been on the boob since 28th Sept :dunno:
Jodi lee yep we feel quite lucky about our 4 acres too, if jase worked shift work and we weren't doing reno's I could imagine us putting a proper house there and living there, and Jase commuting/living in caravan while on shift at work, but alass he is mon-fri we haven't been down there since the weekend before I was flown out to brisbane so will be nice to get back, just no fishing for me :( well from boat anyway, at least not till Jack is 1 :(

Sorry to hear about all these fussbutt babies. Jetts had his moments the last 2 days but after a 5.5 hr sleep overnight he is a bit more happier today. Could be due to the full of milk boobies he woke to this morning lol
Right now we are just surfing the net listening to Johnny Cash. My little man has some fab taste in music thanks to moi ;) His super fave is Elvis.
Anywho better go get ready to duck off to the shops, got people coming for a bbq tomorrow night + Dh's friend and his g/f staying. I also need to get this paperwork in to Defence Housing so we can get some dates for removal and pick a house!

Well, I fed the boy from one side at 1:30, til he fell asleep (hurrah!) and then managed to express a little under 100ml, which Rans just fed him, he seems to take the bottle well, so that's nice :) He's fussing still though, so I've sent Rans to change his nappy to see if it's a dirty nappy that's the problem or if he's still hungry.
Oh, Rans wants me to get some nappies off the line. Later girls :)

I'm such a sucker... I felt sorry for Xander getting jabs today (did I mention he is FINE, so maybe I bought the stuff for me? :rolleyes: ), so took him shopping at the Target Toy Sale. Bought a PlayGro Zany Zoo playmat and a heap of toys to hang from it as well as this kick-thingo which ties to the cot end and jangles when he kicks it.
I may have got her to sleep!!! I put on some soft music, turned the light off and closed the door...that was 5 min ago. Lets see what happens.

Anna**-you are so brave with the immunisations I am not looking forward to getting Eithan's done and like Maz I have Bella's 4yr ones due too. Congratulations on the ultrasound results being fine, that is such great news.
Maz-Period wise I cant really remember but I was comping and BF until Bella was about 4 1/2mths and I think I got my period when she was about 7mths old, it took awhile for my system to get back in order. But I have PCOS so I dont know if that affected it or not. I have heard that the going on the pill can help bring it back on, but I dont know how you go about taking that when you havent had a period. Goodluck hun. Also goodluck getting Wilhelms and Vyolett's needles done. Take Jed definantly, will you get Wilhelm done first or second, or will you keep them separate so as not to distress Wilhelm. All the best.
Belle-Hugs to you. Dont feel bad. Remember you CARE HEAPS, and you look after her so well, as someone else said it wont make any difference to Julia as long as she has a full tummy she will be happy. Plus going onto bottle does have it's advantages, Jeff can have some special bonding time with Julia aswell while you can do things like have a relaxing bath etc without interuptions as Jeff can feed her.
Charli-Thanks for the adv re dribbling. I think the last week he has had a touch of colic, well bad wind pain really. We had huge fart time this morning and he is now back down asleep.
Jodi-Lee-Yep sounds like Eithan is doing what Nina was doing. All the bottles and fromula are on standby but so far I havent had to use them.
Sorry girls Bella is whinging and I am yet to shower, so better fly while Eithan's asleep. BBL or in a day or so, fo rmore personals.

Yes girls - Im $hitting a bit. I fall pg at a drop of a hat. I fell 3 times when my tubes were tied for f***k sake! I'll run away if i am. Jed will probably divorce me. lol and i dont really want 5 kids (jed's one at the best of times) to look after even if I miss having a baby boy. God help me. Ive been having thick creamy cm again sorry for TMI. Might just be my over active, tired brain. we'll just see. i haven't said anything to jed yet. Its best to keep it that way. Thank god for you girls.
Anna - I wanted to buy one of those Zany Zoo'z but Jed came home with the baby einstien playmate. (boring) I love Playgro stuff. Its so bright and happy. We'res Zanders glasses pic. I loved it. But any pic of our babies are gorgeous so your forgiven. ;)
Helen - I'll probably get WIlhelm's needles done first and bribe him with a chubba chub afterwards. I was going to go through the council but they round you around like a piece of cattle. How's eithan today mate? and how are you?

Ashleigh slept so much yesterday I couldn't believe it! I don't know if its cause I took the MCHN advice and really push Ash to take more at feed times or if it was her being so exhausted from that 37 degree day we had on Thur. She spread her feeds out too. Usually she fits in 8 a day but yest was only 6. I just don't know whats going on. Will have to see if it was a one off day or a new thing.
Went to a BBQ last night at Df mates place, first real social outing. Fed Ash before we left and she slept the whole time there. Woke just before I left for a feed. That was like 10pm so after that feed wanted to take her home and Df was complaining cause all his mates had'nt seen her or had a hold etc. I told him that at that time of night I don't want her stimulated and did his mates want to come home with me and try to settle her. He was staying on drinking so it would be me having to do all the settling. Had to remind him she wasn't there for their entertainment!
maz- Sounds like your super fertile! I'd be careful if I were you. God its funny its a worry to you cause sex is like the last thing on my mind. I can't get preg if I'm not having any!

maz, i have my ob six week check next week and need to sort out contraception too. i don't have my period back, but we too have started having unprotected sex. as much as you don't want number four, i don't want two under a year either!
ainsleigh is also a dribbler helen, and she has bad reflux. she is on thickened formula plus medicine to keep it at bay. she is still chucking but it has taken away the pain and the other side effects.
sorry i missed you the other day charli. nine times out of ten it is dh on the computer, or it is left on and nobody is actually here!
we are cruising along. dh and i went out to a wedding celebration dinner for friends who eloped last night and left ainsleigh home with my dad and his partner. pop went to sleep, and the usually good ainsleigh kept jan up till 10.30... when we got home they were asleep on the couch together! we can walk home from their house, which is very handy for babysitting. dh of course did not even know that she got up for a feed at 4am!
everything else is cruising here. sorry for lack of personals... too hard to keep up!

Sex is not the most appealing idea to me either Shell (although it's sort of starting to warm on me..) but I think that a vaginal birth probably means we need a bit more time?
River has started to spew after most feeds...is this okay? It doesn't seem to bother him, just makes him grotty and gives him that lovely spewy smell..When did your babies start to spew?

Dh and I have agreed that we will happily abstain from sex until Jett is not breastfed anymore. If thats a year then so be it, we DO NOT want anymore children. Not for another 4yrs at any rate. If it gets to much and we absolutely cant wait any longer I will wean Jett to formula and go on the pill.

Nelle - Hon, Julia is spewing after feeds now too, not sure what it is, I asked and the nurse told me that it maybe shes got a full stomach?
Shellbell - hi mate, hope you are doing well. Re the heat, Trescillian gave me a pamplet and it says in heat to feed babies more often if you are breastfeeding in the heat, for bottle fed babies you can give them cooled boiled water, im sure you must be able to give it to breastfeed babies to hey to help them rehydrate. They said if there is a change in babies behaviour eg, decreased number of wet nappies or drowinsess to seek medical advice. Also dress baby just in singlet and nappy or just nappy and sponge bathe baby often with slightly warm water not cold water and put the baby in the coolest place in the house where there is a crosscurrent of air, eg hallway or bathroom, if using fan make sure its not blowing direct on the baby.
Maz - thanks for last night for making me laugh your too funny :) I fed Julia the formula last night and she slept for 6 hours it was great and she settled well. I may do it every night at last feed I think as it helps her heaps and my milkflow is crap at night - only 50mls. Shocking hey.

And that's great that Julia settled last night. Re: having crap all milk at night, would it work to express a little after each feed so you have a feed's worth by the end of the day? Just a thought..
Oh Anna, you poor thing at Xander's 6th sense! :p Maybe you could have him babysat and tell your sitter you're um...going to the movies...? Although that's probably a bit too organised hey...
Well, I really should take advantage of this peace and quiet and do some washing...the trouble with peace and quiet is that I just want to rest when it happens! So nothing much gets done. Actually, the inlaws are popping in later this arvo, so I probably should clean up a bit...
Belle - I find my boobies are engourged in the morning...so i always express around 20mls from whichever boobie I am offering...then I empty that boobie after Paige has finished her feed....that way not only does the boobie replenish itself for later on I am also banking enough milk to offer and EBM feed in the afternoon.
They do say that some boobies run low in the afternoons...so by offering more boobie in the arvo, it may help to have bubs full and content for their evening sleeps (that's what the ABA councellor told me anyway).
Belle*- thanks for that info re the heat. Its hard with no air con.
Nelle- Ash always has a couple little spews at each feed. I always think too what a waste.
Well Ash hasn't had a very good afternoon. Shes on my arms now screaming. I think i'll be deaf soon in my left ear!
Anna**-LOL at Xander's 6th sense. I'm not ready yet but even rolling over to cuddle DH gets in the way. Eithan will vomit or something like that and then after 10mins I will roll over again and have it happen again. Most nights now I just go straight to sleep no cuddles.Boohoo.

I waited a year to get my tubes reversed and hoped to hell I would fall pg soon afterwards, which I did and now Im thinking oh tread carefully...
Nelle - so having the inlaws there this afternoon, did you take advantage? ;) Mine came up from Mt Eliza yesterday and spent an hour with us then went of to their friends place for the weekend. Their friends is 10 mins up the road and we wont see them again to christmas. I guess they really love their first born grandson and granddaughter to bits! cough cough bull$hit..cough cough. and on the blissfully ignorant. I suppose I wouldn't mind a nother sometimes but then I'd have to get a new car and god were do I start with school drop offs etc. Nah I think 3's enough and knowing my luck, id end up with twins next time round as their on both sides of the family.:0

Anna - put a stereo in your room and blair it. That way you wont hear anything and your neighbours wont hear your noise heheheheh. You can do it!

Hello everyone else, hope your all fine and enjoyed the cooler weather today.
I spent the afternoon outside cleaning and pruning with Vy in her cot screaming cause she was over tired and didn't want to sleep. Tuff titties I wasn't picking her up! Must say something thats a bit TMI, my boobies have headed south. I feel like I should be on a National geographical show cause they have those tribe woman who's boob's look like bike tyers. I reackson I could tie a knot in mine and use them as a head band this summer. Jed offered to go to the hardware and buy some silicon to pump into them...its warming on me :)

Im still here!! I have had my SIL and her son here today and the husbands went to the races. Ruby has been an angel all day but now is having her daily whinge.Ive given her the world and she still crying.

I have confessions to make:
1. I am a bad mummy, gave in and have started comp feeding bub with formula 4 times a day. Am considering chucking in BFall together as bub seems happier with his formula full tum.
2. Im going to leave my selfish ***** of a husband, who is right now after his usual sleep in and hours of playing comp games out to lunch with friends and only asked if I'd like to go after I had a hissy fit. Apparently he deserves some time away from us for all the "help" he gives us.
Im going to divorce him then kill him :angry: :crying:
