hi girls,
well, sam is home and i am feeling like a new woman. i have worked doing relief teaching the last two days and sam was a SAHD... i think the break from Ains was just what i needed. don't get me wrong, i love her to death, but when you are with her 24 hours a day it gets really tiring. thanks so much to everyone who was thinking of me.
as for the sleep, last night back to normal but we did leave her to cry and she went back to sleep... the day before however, i get home from work to a grumpy girl, who had only had a 15 min nap all afternoon!!!! she ended up falling asleep in her high chair she was so tired, woke her for her bottle then she slept from 6,30am - 8.30am without a peep. only :( thing was meant i only saw her for two hours in 24 as she was still asleep when i left for work.
we're off to the paed this morning for another followup on her asthma... she's really doing well now she's on the ventolin and flixotide.
sorry this post is all about me... just wanted to let you all know how i'm going.
hope that your pg's are going well anna, maz and ambz. good luck with hospital waiting lists and test results nessa. glad you had the heart to heart with your hubby jodi. hope the doc can give you some answers chrissy.hope you're feeling a lot better shell... ihad tonsillitis/was on antibiotics for six months straight before they removed mine when i was about the same age as you. all i can say is VERY painful!
hello to everyone else. will try to jump on an dlet you know how paed appt went, if not will come back all refreshed when sam goes back to work. thanks again for thinking of me xxx
yeah, we're still going to hold off ttc for a few months yet. Not really sure now when we'll start again. I'll ask my dr to explain it again today, but I remember when I fell pg with Nina it came up in my bt results and they warned me about miscarriage, or that she could have birth defects. But I completely forgot about it, and changed dr's after Nina was born :wall:If you're home today, I'll give you a call, need to vent about stuff anyway ;):
That's great if might have a bit of an answer for your m/c, do you mind me asking how letting your MMR vaccine lapse effects m/c rates? Is it because of exposure to the virus or something else? I'm immune to Rubella luckily. Hopefully after you have your jab you will be too - tho from memory ttc must be put on hold for 3 months? You ok with that?
I gotta run, got things to do.
chrissy - good luck for when you go to the dr
laurin - congrats on finishing !!!!!!!!!!
rikki - I know exactly how you feel. When I leave Nina on the days I work, it feels soooo good to get a break, but I love her to death. I hope things start improving for you soon, sounds like they are.
Another bad night, I'm not sure if its teeth or what cause during the day she is fine but at night, same time too, the trouble starts, she wakes at 2am, I make sure shes not cold cause I know its been chilly last couple nights, I give her a cuddle she gets all settled, I put her down, shes happy, rolls over I cover her and we start going to sleep, then just as I'm about to drift off she starts again! This process goes on til just after 3:30. So I am tired, bit hard to recover when you lack sleep.
Rikki- Its great to hear things are looking up and Ainsleigh and yourself are doing alot better. I know what you mean bout needing that break, in one way I am looking forward to going back to work just for that break and have adult conversation.
HelenP- How are your kidlets today? One sick child is bad enuff. Are they feeling any better?
Anna**- Ash has 3 at the moment with the 4th coming (I think). The bottom 2 we had small trouble with, the top big trouble. Its great things are going well with Xander, things here going pretty good usually too, I found since she started taking good solid meals she started being in a predictable routine and generally wakes twice a night now. I think Ash is a bit of a tanty chucker too, I can see they'll just be very determined children.
Nessa- Please, anything but that song.
Well Df is home again today, yay, he has day off to do marking or something, his parents are coming over, everything is all good with them now. I think I forgot to mention it but they all made up, after we didn't get the house last week, his mum went and said sorry you missed the house. Df told her he was more upset bout them fighting all the time than getting a house and they hugged and made up, so all good, this time I think its gonna stay good. Life is too short for all that crap, esp with Fil cancer which we are happy to say has gotten better, the chemo so far has done really well, they can't see an obvious tumor anymore but they think there still some cells in the tummy, though where it had spread to outside the stomach that is all gone, yay.
OMG Chrissy - are you ok matie...fooy man! what a head f***! sorry. SO please share what nappys did you get
Ness - double fooy on having to wait until monday for your results and THANK YOU for sharing that blasted song!!!! I have it loged in my head now. PMSL
SHell - I so hear you on the bad nights...im over them. can we move away to Los Vegas now????
Anna - hmmm baby dust...hmmmmm wonder who did that??????? hehehehehhehe hope it brings you luck
Rikki - yay for feeling better. Im so jealous you got a break. Good luck with that addi I gav eyou too honey
Caddie - Im so stupid, I didnt even realise that you put a top in the box for VY. Thank you hon
JOdi - thank go dyou know now why you m/s. I bet you feel like a ton of bricks is off your shoulders.
Belle - were you at gf?
Im trying to remember.....
Nelle - how ya going chicken?
Helen - a poo on the nappys....I had to wash 2 days worth of runny poo ones and I threw up..not a nice thing to do with m/s
Annie -= hope your enjoying your holiday, next time but take me and shell with ya PMSL
Laurin - yay for finishing your assingments
AnnaT - hows the m/s these days? B6 is doing $hit for me ATM
Ambz - any m/s yet? (I JEALOUS)
Hello eveyrone one else...my brains now FRIED!!!!!!
Can some one come and tell Vy to stop her high pitch squelling and sanding up to everything only to fall down and head butt herself!!@!!!
BBL - pit stop time
shell - that's great news about fil. Hopefully it's all good from now. Nina has been the same as Ash, fine during the day, but at night the teeth are playing up. I'm pretty sure it's the teeth, as there are 4 that are just sitting there, taking their time to come down. What have you tried giving her at night to settler her? We've started using Nurofen, which a gf recommened, and it's the best! We were using Panadol but it wasn't doing the job for the whole night. Whereas Nurofen lasts longer. We only give it to her at 6pm, when she goes to bed, and nothing more, and she'll now sleep the whole night. Last week she kept waking at 2am as well, and wouldn't settle till 3.30/4am, when she would go to sleep with sheer exhaustion!!!
vy - you naughty girl!! Behave for your mother, or there'll be smacks involved :p
Jodi- We were giving panadol but as you said it does nothing, I bought some nurofen yesterday but then was bit scared to give it last night cause I thought what if she reacts I won't know, maybe tonight I'll give it an hour before she goes to bed that way I can see how she goes with it.
Maz- Oh that high pitched squealing does my head in, yes, lets run to las vegas! Hmm maybe we could become show girls or something.
Lol Nelle, hey I think we'd make great show gals.
shell - I too was hesitant. I spoke with the pharmacist before getting it, and she recommended it over Panadol. She said it's a personal preference, some prefer Panadol, some prefer Nurofen. She said that Nurofen does last longer than Panadol, as it's a different and stronger medication. Nina only gets it once a day, before bed, and I'll only do that while she's got those teeth sitting there causing her grief.
Can I come to Las Vegas too???????? And can we leave the babies behind with their daddies ;)
I'll be the show girl with her bb's tied in a knot so I dont get any black eyes when IM kicking my legs up PMSL
PMSL ladies.
Love
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any advice. I have very much got a booby boy, and I really would like to start weaning.
The only thing is that he won't take the bottle. When we are out, and he is sitting on my knee he starts trying to rip my shirt open he loves boobs so much.
He is also a comfort feeder and when he is upset he wants boobs. He won't take the dummy.
Anyway any advice would be great.
To the pregnant girls who are missing their second ski season in a row (although last year was dismal anyway) i will ski enough to make up for what you are missing :D
Okay girls, no bubs on our las vegas trip, they can stay with the dads. Lol Maz, I have odd images in my head now!
Meg- James sounds just like Ashleigh. Its only been in the past month that she doesn't comfort feed so much, since she really got into solids.
If you want to cut the comfort feeds first maybe try other ways to settle, intially they may take longer but eventually they may work. With Ash I still use the boob if she is really upset otherwise I pick her up, walk round with her cause she seems to like that.
At this age your prolly better introducing a sippy cup, we tried the magmag one for awhile, I know a few girls here use one, then I tried the nuby cup which seems to work well with Ash, I just try with water after every meal and just in the last week shes actually drinking out of it. Its all just trial and error to find what works.
Meg - I cant help sorry honey. Ive got a FF baby here, I only BB feed for the first 4 weeks then got mastites. The other girls will give you fantastic advice though. AND go on rub it in about the snow would ya!! PMSL
Da da
Da dadadada
Dadada da da da
HEY!
meg - when he's upset and wants comfort feeds, is it hunger, or teeth, tired or just sooky? If he's just sooky, then do what shell suggested, try taking him outside for a walk or something. With not taking a bottle, also do as shell suggested and try a sippy cup, a lot of babies tend to take to sippy cups rather than bottles (but some are the other way round). I use the Pigeon Mag Mag sippy cup for Nina. She used to be a booby girl, loved it! But as soon as I introduced the sippy cup, she never went back to boobie :(
If it's teeth, does he like to suck on a teething ring, or a wet rag maybe?
Nessa -YES YES YES hehehehe
have pulled my neck out and feel sick as a dog. dont know if its ms, eating to much or my neck.. bugger pooh bum!
Ive uploaded a pic of my latest scrap page. :)
No advice here either meg as both my girls needed bottles.
Whats going on ness and maz, secrets now huh!
Hi Shell, Thanks for your advice. He is a comfort feeder, so I will try other distractions instead of giving in.
I have tried the sippy cup, but he still doesnt seem to have quite got the hang yet.
I have copped a bleeding nipple from him in the past few weeks thanks to the intro of teeth!!! Jodie, i will try the cup that you suggested. He also loves wet face washers!!!!
I am not ready to totally ween him, as I actually really love feeding, but it would be nice to leave him once in a while and do something for myself.
Hope everyone is going well.
Bath time, better go. I might BBL.
caddie - those pics are just gorgeous! You've done an excellent job.
meg - ouchie on the bleeding nipple. Hope he doesn't continue that!
I wanna know the secret too maz & ness ;)
Heath's cooking bacon & eggs for dinner...mmmm yum!!!
Meg- Just keep trying with the sippy cup and eventually he will catch on, try couple to see what suits him.
Caddie- Those scrap pages are fantastic, after doing all the ones I did for mothers day I've gone slack again, will have to get back into it.
Ash loved the chicken sweet corn soup Df cooked us yesterday, I just thickened it with rice cereal and she was wolfing it down.
ETA: I also want to know bout this secret!
I thought it was some juicy secret :p
It must be a week for pressies for Whilem, cause I've sent him something too!! He's a special lad.
evenin ladies!!!
whats this secret???? maz?? nessa?? speak up women!!!!
im feeling so tired last couple days... starting to feel tiny stitchy pains that come and go im assuming its the ligaments stretching once again.
oohhh i love using the "but im pregnant " line to boss hubby around ahaha :cryinglaugh:
ahh i could sleep in bed all day long... damn gotta work this weekend ill probably fall asleep at my desk lol

hoping your all doing really well and bubs are all behaving..
sorry no personals im sooo tired gonna go to bed
mwahzz
xoxox
love ambz
wow lots of posts.
Meg - I am trying to wean Rylee at the moment - not completely but maybe just a bottle in the day and a bottle at night - instead of just one bottle at night - make sense??? With them trying to get to take a bottle / sippy cup, it is all a matter of perserverance, I have got Rylee onto bottles but not the sippy cup - I sometimes take the valve out of the cup so the water comes out quickly so she can see that water comes out the holes - she is getting there slowly.
Rikki - so glad you are getting a break what a relief for you.
Girls - what finger foods are you feeding your bubs now??
Gotta go,
Laurin
morning ladies!!!
is anyone awake?? hehe
im at work yeehaaa
soo cold!!!
laurin- i have started savanna on fingerfoods such as asparagus, carrots broccoli, basically any fruit of vegie.
the vegies you can cut into pieces and steam so bubs can hold it and eat and the fruit you can also cut into pieces for them to pick at and hold and eat.
its so cute i love watching her feed herself. she pushes the food to the side of her mouth and chews. tooo cute!!
also small pieces of soft chicken and toast etc
i have also seperated the egg yolk and make scrambled eggs with it for her which she picked at and ate. also cut up small bits of sausage when we were having breaky and she loved that.
you can try all sorts of stuff. my health nurse told me to start her on foods we eat but just to cut out the salt... so thats going really well so far :)
good luck!
ambz
Hellooooooo.
I'm around, been house hunting, again!
Other than that not much to say.
Nessa - Make some anti-eew (some essential oil in a water sprayer) spray for her! Then you can spray the room for eews to scare them away. Might be worth a try anyway... if you use pure essential lavender oil in the sprayer it'll help calm her anyway.
Caddie - Your scrap pages look fab!!! Wish I had the time to do that sort of thing, but I'm trying to get back into painting again (on top of dog training and cake decorating)
Maz -Sounds like Wilhelm is a lucky boy this week with the incoming pressies. A huge thankyou if you were my babydust fairy. Luv ya matey.
Jodie - I tried calling you this morning, but you were out having a life :-P I'm flat out tomorrow so will call on Monday to catch up.
Belle - Where are you?????
Laurin - How's Rylee's sleep going? I've partially weaned Xander now and only do 2 feeds myself, the lunch one is now formula.
Meg - I wouldn't bother with trying to hard with the bottle, go straight to a sippy or even straw cup. Some bubs even like a regular cup, but that can be very messy whilst they learn. I started Xander on the magmag but he preferred the straw top. He now just drinks out of an insulated Target baby non-spill straw cup as he doesn't need handles anymore. Ouchie on the bleeding nipple... hope it heals really quick. I've been working really hard and going back to basics with Xander and making sure he attaches properly since the top teeth came through.
Ambz - I so remember those stitchy weird feelings! How awesome... things must be starting to feel 'real' IYKWIM? (instead of just seeing those two little lines on a pee stick)
Shell - How's Ash going with some finger foods now? Any luck?
Nelle - What's handsome Riv up to lately?
Kellxx, Rikki, AnnaT, Rach, Annie, HelenP, Sharleen (if you're around?), Chrissy - Hope you are all well and wonderful!
anna - nah no life, having a much needed sleep when you rung!! How's Xander going?
ness - don't you dare start that singing, or there'll be smacks involved :p
Hi everyone
Not too much to report except one thing.NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT A CHANGE OF CLOTHING FOR YOUR KIDS!! silly me decided we will all go to kings park about 40min drive north from our home.Just as we pull up to go to the park ruby spews all over her clothes.Twice mega spews.I then had to drive to subiaco markets and look for a change of clothing.Poor ruby was wrapped in millanas big jacket to keep warm. She looked homeless and the only outfit was not vey attractive jumpsuit like a jailbirds. We then went back to the park and had a walk in the fresh air,let millana have a play and come home.
Millana has been a total turd. She just wont listen. She has been wetting herself, getting up at all hrs of the night and driving me insane.I went and bought her $200 worth of new warm bedding as hubby said she felt cold the other night but last night i had to lie with her twice to get her to sleep.
So a little bit exasperated and overwhelmed and hoping the next day or the next will bring a better change.
So please ness sing away and cheer us up with your sillyness.
Thanks Ness, I love that song but could never remember words after the mush bit.
Grr at Dh, is he really sick or more just that male kind of sickness where they think they are dying? I get ****ed too when I don't get my one sleep in day, we always have to soldier on.
Caddie- Sorry but I had to have a giggle at your story with the whole park and vomit incident. Hopefully Millana settles a bit, in a couple years when Ash gets to that age I will understand what you and Ness are going thru.
Anna**- She still plays around with finger food, she is always putting everything else into her mouth yet finger food she'll play and throw!
So whats everyones plans for today, none for me just a day inside, do exciting things like dishes and washing.
this is the song that doesnt end...
yes it goes on and on my friendddd.....
some people started singing it not knowing what it was and theyll continue singing it forever just because..
this is the song that doesnt end...
yes it goes on and on my friendddd.....
hahah now that is the most annoying song ever!!!
morning girls..
yep im at work once again!!
what a beautiful day in brighton melb.. the sun is out shining!
caddie - how old was millana when ruby was born?
i think savanna is going to be around 17- 18 months when this lil one arrives and im hell scared about how im going to cope!
mostly through the nights... if savanna gets up and wont sleep and i gotta be up every 3 hours for bubs my god ill go insane hahah
nessa - hugs to you and a big kick up your hubbys bum!!! grrr
anna** - that anti-eww thing sounds awesome!
savanna loves her mag mag cup too!!! she has a sippy cup aswell which she loves but the magmag i have added the straw part and she loves using it. its so cute watching them drink with the straw isnt it!!
this pregnancy is starting to feel really real day by day. cant wait till i start showing properly. i love having a baby belly! i hope you get one very very soon too
shellbell- goodluck with the house hunting!!!! it must be quite tiring and stressfull but im sure you will find the house of your dreams!!
maz - hope your neck is feeling better hun. what a lucky boy wilhem is with all the pressies!!
annat- hope your m/s is treating you better!!
belle- how are you going hun??
and to everyone else a big hello!!!
pregnancy brain is really kicking in full throttle!!! yesterday i was on the freeway on the way to work and i got off the wrong exit making my trip to work 10 mins longer. what a spaz!!
hehehe
luv ambz

Hello all,
My DH is off dirtbike riding today. He spent all yesterday servicing his bike. You think after being gone for 8 days (He works away from home 8 days at a time - I really commend any single parents. It's tough by yourself) he would want to spend some time with James, but no - bike riding is more important. And no doublt he will come back with some type of injury. You think he would have learnt after spending three months in a neck brace with a C4 fracture, and being airlifted out of a state forest. (James was 5 weeks old)
Anyway that's just me having a whinge. I promise not to whinge any more.
Thanks everyone for the advice on weaning. So far I have not had that much success with the cup, but early days. Every time I put it near him, he pushes it away.
Ambz - I hadn't though of asparigus. I will give it a try with James.
Caddie- I also had a little giggle about your story in the part. Poor little bubby!!!
Oh, I forgot. Is a magmag cup made by a centrain company, as I have not been able to find one!!
meg - mag mag is made by pigeon i believethey are not sold in every coles and safeway store but baby bunting and babyco stock them.
meg - my man is dirtbike racing too today!! We can be single mummies together
Meg - Like Ambz said, magmag is made by Pigeon. Many chemists sell them, tho keep an eye out as the price varies HEAPS. I bought mine for $9 each, but I've seen them for $15.
Ambz - Thanks for the prayers hon for a bubba. I seem to remember that apparently one has to have sex to fall pregnant (ahhhh.. we all know what you've been doing now  ) and there aint any of that happening around here.
Nessa - Glad you liked the anti-eew idea, lets' hope it works. At least if you use some calming essential oils (maybe look for a 'baby-sleep' blend) it might make her relax a bit.
I'm off hooning today on my new bike! I can't believe I still haven't ridden it yet... as it's been so long I'm kinda a bit nervous about riding again which is totally dumb as I used to be good enough to race. Wish me luck that I don't bin the bl**dy thing on the first bend.
have fun anna! :happyforyou:
btw - love that pic of Xander in your sig, so cute!
meg - like Anna said, price does vary. They're anywhere from $10-$13 here. I usually get mine from the chemist.
Heath had a major bike accident about 11 years ago, was off work for 11 months, but do you think that stops him from learning...
Nina's having a nice long sleep today, 3.5 hours so far, I'm suppose to be taking Heath his lunch and watching him race... waiting....still waiting!!
Meg - I've had a couple of accidents over the years on the bike, and I still want to ride. I think it (bike riding) gets 'in your blood'
CR@P I dont get on for a day and VOOMMMMMM you guys are quicker than the bike that Anna just got!!!!
My neck makes me feel like a hunch back, Jed says it the 'right possy' for hmmmmmming!!! Dirty boy!
IM over tired and feel like spewing everywere but hey, thems the breaks....PMSL Just hope its over Jed when he's being filthy
Caddie - big hugs for ya babe...your scrapping is superb too.
My little elephant is now 9 months and STILL HAS NO TEETH! Its drving us nuts cause she's been screaming the house down and is the most grumpiest little turd!!!
Can I trade her in on a newer model now?????? ROFL
BBL and OH I have a secret hehehehehehhe
dont worry maz caitlyn has 8 teeth.........but does not even crawl or attempt to, and the $hit just screams cause she wants to get around and she cant......what the secret.
One very jealous girl here anna......enjoy your ride mate......
little biartch has now decided 3am is wake up time, and of cause she is no daytime sleeper, so im lucky if she has 20minutes once a day.........drives me insane!! and craig does night shift, so its like im a single mum at the moment.
must be the weekend for bikes, craig is putting his back together as we speak
Can someone please stop me buying MCN......its very addictive
better go have to wax my chin..........mmmmmmm the joys of getting old, i feel like i have a goaty growing
