Hi all
Alexander is great sleeping 5-6 hours of a night.. However my BB are killing me.. I think i have thrushh.. I am getting shooting sharp pains during the feed.. I am attaching the same as always and the nipple looks good when he comes of.. no whiteness in his mouth though will go to my GP this arvo and get things checked out.. They are throbbing now and i am not even feeding him!
xoxo Anna

Anna** - your Avent dummies, are they the cherry teat ones or the other ones? I need some more dummies, but Nina only likes the cherry teat

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLI!!! have a great day
-
Happy Birthday Charli! 25 you old lady you :p
LOL, I know what you mean Rikki, I should have known that a 3week old sleeping 2 stretches of 4-5hrs a night was too good to be true...not sure if Riv's going through a growth spurt, or if he has thrush and that's annoying him...(still can't see any spots, but my nipples itched and now they hurt and I can't think what else could be hurting them, his attachment is fine)
But he has finally settled himself (so it seems) so we'll see if he goes more than 2 hrs between feeds...I'll find out in half an hour or so...might have a catnap til then.
Hmm..wonder if it's his blocked nose that's causing trouble...we both have a cold, though I cleaned his out and put some saline drops in (and all over his face, but his silly fault for not keeping still!)
Sure hope my nips get better soon though..
Oh and Charli, I'm in (I think) for the kk/msn party. I'll let you know if that changes. I know we have a while to go til Christmas...perhaps give us a deadline to get back to you by?
Wow on the food girls! Glad it helped with the poo Maz.
Hope Riley gets his circadian stuff together soon Adele, you must be so tired! Is there someone who can have a 'day out' with Akira to give you a chance to sleep when Riley sleeps? Anyone she'd like to go on an outing with?
Man, I can hardly keep my eyes open..have a great day girls! xo

added my email to my public profile under msn for you shell. i'm in with the kk christmas gifts. better go got a squirming screaming worm on my lap who wants her bottle!

Hi ladies. I have just had the worst night. Well Eithan was good it was the wind that kept me up.
We have a 5x11m covered patio area attatched to the back of the house. Well the wind got so strong it ripped the roofing off. It is now just hanging there in bits and pieces with some rope to hold most of it down to stop it blowing away.
We woke at 1am(well not really couldnt sleep) and noticed that the roof was coming off. I tried to ring the SES but got no answers on the no.s or any answering machine. Rang the police as was not sure what to do as it was getting dangerous. They adv to ring my insurance company and that they would sort out someone coming out. So rang them in tears and shaking as I was petrified of the thing coming off and going through someones window or ours. They took the claim and then told me they would get 1 of their companies to call us within 1/2 hr to let us know when someone would be there. 1:45am we got the call that someone would be there in 1 to 2hrs but we would get a call before they arrived. I then did some nervous tidiying. Went to bed about 2am and they got there at 4am secured it and were gone by 4:45am. Then Eithan woke for a feed at 5:30. So I am pretty tired. Also damaged was our spa cover it ripped the clip to keep it down off. All of our heavy wooden chairs were pushed up against the steps to our house. The chairs landed on some kitchen cupboard doors we were painting and smashed one of them. Also we have an outdoor fridge for parties and bbqs etc. Both the fridge and freezer door were ripped off. This morning when DH went outside 5 mtr lengths of wood from the patio had flown over our roof into the front yard and had split into 2 and were sticking like javelins in the front lawn. He found a sheet of laserlite and some more wood in a yard a couple of houses away. Also we have some smashed roof tiles. So all in all not good. But at least it was night time and noone was about to get hurt. Even though it wouldnt have been our fault I dont know how I would cope knowing our roof had hurt or killed someone. Oh and the bug sapper and wind chime were smashed.
Thanks for the vent guys, insurance guy coming in 40min so better go.

:0 omg Helen. I got goose bumps reading that. I would have been $hitting myself too. Thank god your insured and that your all alright
Little P - owie on the bb front. Id offer you a big hug but it would probably hurt like mad ;)
Nelle - hope your in bed sleeping
Rikki - Is a little girl missing her daddy already. I hope last night was a one off for you.
Anna - were have you been hiding chicken? Hope that gorgeous little man is being good for mummy.
I cant get over how mad its gotten in here now. There ar ejust so many off us its getting harder to keep up and take in everything.
Off to make pumpkin soup and cook up some snitzel for tea. trying to get organised early these days but it never works.
xxmaz

:happybirthday: Charli hope you have a good day, thanks for all your kind words lets catchup on msn soon hey mate. Count me in for the KK present!!
MAZ - definately in the MSN thing, will be excellent :) good to catchup with everyone like before it has heaps of fun, could stop laughing! Im telling you whip out the HPT... I want to know the results.
LittleP - I have the same thobbing issue and my lacation consultant looked at my nipple after my feed, my whole nipple went white, lost all the blood flow did yours do that? the throbbing is usually when the blood comes back to the nipple. This can happen.
Jodi - Im feeling a little better today thanks am still really tired and have been giving Julia some more top ups with the bottle which makes her happier. Hows Nina?
Nelle - your expressing amount is amazing Im lucky in the arvo to get 60mls. Hows River today?
HelenP - ETA OMG helen Just read you post, man that sounds very scarey, so glad you are allright and thanks for the insurance company. Let us know what happens. Sorry I have been slack and not called you promise I will this weekend to see how you are doing. Ive been through rough time this week. So happy you like the photos. How is Eithan? is everything going ok?
Chrissy - havent seen you around much lately I hope you are ok? How is Caitlyn? is it really hot where you are? its a stinker here today in Syd so humid.
Anna** - how you doing? love your pics of Xander in the bubbles! so cute !!! Will call you today after Trescillian comes to weigh Julia.
Rikki - hugs to you too, how'd you go last night with the witching hour with Ainsleigh? Julia was suprisingly happy with the extra top up of formula yesterday Phew.
AMBZ - havent seen you for ages, good to see you, I hope you got some sleep last night and Savanah is ok. Julia hates being wrapped during the day so I put her in her all in one suits... she likes that much better.
Shell - Im going through the exact same path as you at the moment re breastfeeding except DH wants me to continue to BF - so much pressure out there from midwifes too dont you think? So for the moment I am doing both BF and Formula, at 6 weeks I will rethink everything and if Julia still isnt gaining enough weight it will be solely formula for us. Did you see on Sunrise this morning they talked about the topic of BF versus bottle. Some midwife referred to bottle as maccas for the baby versus BF as organic food. How rude is that and how guilty does that make everyone feel, shocking hey.
Caddie - great to chat with you too :) Hows Ruby today? It was relief to find out im not alone in my feelings thank you.
Nat - sorry missed your on MSN later last night, Julia needed feeds close together was running around like a mad chook.
Well my boobs seem a bit better now and I can actually feed without having blood. Oh better go see why shes crying back later.

Belle- I did watch that on sunrise. Couldn't believe that macca's comment, no wonder so many woman feel guilty. At least my MCHN told me to do whatever made me happy and said I should be pleased that I have been doing it etc but if I'm not enjoying it than bubs may sense that. My partner is the same he doesn't want me to stop, he's the only one that has made me feel guilty by making some comment that implied I'm not looking out for Ashleigh's best interests. He had me in tears! I told him it was up to me and I've already made my decision and how would he like a baby sucking on his nipples every few hours. At least my mum and sister are supportive. I'm just not enjoying the whole experience and now shes getting more alert its so much harder to keep her attention so she is on and off all the time and i end up feeling sore cause it takes so much longer to feed!
Rikki- I will e-mail you this arvo, thanks for that.
-
OMG Shell, we are so the same DH had me in tears implying the same thing. He also told me that I was feeding her not enough (eg 4 hourly instead of 3 and I picked this up from a book) im like noo this is what the midwifes recommended, however, now of course she isnt gaining weight some im feeding her 3 hourly and sometimes 2 hourly now. I asked DH for support not arguing every night cause its not good. He is fine me topping her up with formula and now understands if my excema gets worse I may not be able to BF at all but wants me to keep going as long as I can, Im like its me doing all this not you. I know what you mean by on and off all the time. Im trying to keep it going but I totally support you and your decision as I know exactly the emotions you are going through Shell. Big hugs and you have made the right decision for you.
-
Some people should just keep their comments to themselves!! I'm sick and tired of hearing people say that formula is soooo bad for babies, it should only be breast milk. That's a load of rubbish. I was a formula-fed baby and I'm fine, and nowadays, the formula is much better than 24 years ago! Breastfeeding is simply not for everyone. It doesn't make you less of a mother. That's why they have created things like formula.
Shell & belle - remember, happy mum = happy baby. If you're not enjoying breastfeeding, then choosing to switch is probably best for you. You want to enjoy motherhood, not dread every time bub is due for a feed, and you want your baby to be content as well. Sometimes breastmilk is simply not enough for babies, they need more.
belle - that's great that Julia is settling and you're feeling a little better. Nina is going really well, she's settled much more since I've increased her bottle at night and giving her a little food during the day. Still fighting to sleep during the day, but sometimes I need a break from her and I'll sit there and rock her to sleep! But she'll only have about an hour or so.
-
Belle- Men are so frustrating sometimes. From there point of view everything must look so easy to them, they prolly think how hard can it be. I'd love it if Df could be in my shoes for a day and see how it feels. Ashleigh feeds 7-8 times a day and if you add up all that time it equals a few hours of being attatched to MY breast! At least in here we get lots of support so stuff our partners!
jodi_lee- I agree. I'd enjoy feeding time alot more. I am happy that I have gone this far already with Bfing and am proud of that, I'm still planning to give it a few more weeks to.
-
If only they knew!!! Like I said before, Nina doesn't usually sleep during the day, so I have to entertain her ALL DAY
DH and I are going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment. When he gets home from work, his day ends, and he stuffs around outside playing with the dogs, or sits on the computer surfing the net. My day unfortunately never ends. While he's doing this, I'm trying to organise dinner, get Nina bathed, fed and ready for bed. I'm sure he thinks I'm superwoman.
that's my vent done ... thanks :crying:

:happybirthday: charli:happybirthday:
sorry girls havent been around much lately, had heaps of paper work to get finalised, so it just went in the mail, so i have a load of my mind.
as for the msn and kk thing, i will be in for it as well, as long as i get the right address( nelle knows about that)LOL,hehehe, poor maz must have had a bad preggy brain when she gave me nelles address.........im only stirring you maz, no offense intended.as for everyone on here im trying to keep up as well, but now days im completly lost with everyone, i am thinking of you all and love you all to bits, sorry for lack of personals, little miss caitlyn does not give me the time at the moment.
belle, thanks for thinking of me mate, im doing ok, just had heaps on my mind, the weather here is pretty hot too, i just got back from a walk to the water to take the dog for a swim. i hope your doing ok, luv you heaps.......
i could kill Dh at the moment, i thought giving up boobs would make it easier for me, but now i have to wash sterlise, and give bubs her bottles, with no help from the pr**k, and im lucky if he picks her up for 10 minutes when he gets home, just when im at wits end, all he wants to do is to have a beer, and relax..........i wish, might crack my bottle of chardonay and have a few tonight, all i can say im very lucky to have a 13 year old daughter, she has been helping me so much.
the girls going off again better go:hello: stupid me that was saying hello, not goodbye, oh well..............enough of my sh*t
-
hey all, Jack is perfect and dr was real happy with me, he said seeing as I was there he would do 6 week check thing so he looked at incision had a cht etc, so is all over now, he want me back on thyroid medication while waiting for bloods etc, but aside from that all is good, he removed 2 small stiches that were pulling, (I had all internal stiches)
ummm.......this msn and KK thing can we join if we were'nt sept due date group ??? I would like to be involved, but if ya want to keep to spet due group tis fine
Anna, I would love a couple of size1 advent if you still have some, my email is harrydog@dodo.com.au also this is my msn tag if anyone wants to add me
:happybirthday: Charli
well must fly it is so hot here, and I have to go to shop with jase when he gets home, we are off to IL's tomorrow arvie then down to Agnes with them Sun-wed, am hoping all goes well :crossfingers:
oh and no more oopsies for us Jase went and got some party hats  a man who thinks
but I did have a dream we already were  and then the kookaburras have been laughing hard at us
-
I think this is the reason guns were abolished all those years ago, cause the governemnt knew that woman like us exist and owuldn't be scared to use them on our partners . lol. Chrissy Its so good to hear from you mate. PMSL at address, I probably did f$$k it up knowing me.
Belle and Shell - im telling ya's tell the hubbies to get a fake boob and see how much they like it. That's it im coming over to sort these boys out, im gonna biff them between the eyes. tell them to stop being text book dads and try to be the real thing for a change. Sorry girls but its just not fair that your DH are putting so much pressure on you both. There's enough other people out there that we have to deal with being negetive towards us so our DH should be supportive. As for that bartch saying formula was like Macca's, I'll bloody show her maca's!!!!! I bet the cow doesn't even have any children.
ON a lighter note......
I have tried out the sling I bought of a chick on ebay - fabulous! Vy has been in it down the street and i had both hands free while she slept. She was all curled up in the featal postion and just looked so beautiful. I had some old ladies spin out that there was a baby in there. Ive worn it around the house when Vy was unsettled before and she was asleep within 5 mins. This is the best baby thing I have bought yet.
Better go and finish my pumpkin soup and give my little man Wilhem some cuddles
xxmaz
-
Maz what type of sling did ya get I am looking at one on ebay at present too, just for when Jack has his mornign wake time an dlikes to be cuddled:)
-
There are a few of us here.

-
Jodi - there's also Caddie, chrissyt, nat and $hit ive totally gone blank! Im gonna have to do that same as you mate and write them down. Alzhiemers already...
Rach - KK thing is for everyonenot jsut september babies forum but just wanted to remind everyone how good that night was. I bought my sling from Jazsling and it was $35. Have I told you all how much I loveeeeeeeeeeee it.lol
-

as for sling that the one I am looking at the $35 is the indian cotton *yeah*
-
maz, your over sexed husband sounds just like mine..........
-
Charli - im so sorry hon, smack for it later.
Chrissy - Mine was at me the week after I had Vy and I told him to at least give me 2. He kept me to it to the bast@rd!
-
I am still here...always reading as usual...just a slack @rse postererer.
-
Well insurance people have been and the roofing guys are coming in about an hr. We have quite a few smashed roof tiles, so praying it doesnt rain.
Will get my adress to you soon Charli. I'll be in on the KK. What kind of things are we buying?
ADVENT thingy's. For those with advent bottles, I bought a steam steriliser the other day and got 2 bottles with no.2 teats also I think the breast pump comes with smaller bottles and no.1 teats. Just a thought for those ladies needing more, incase you need 1 of these products they come with a bonus. We are lucky we have done the whole thing with Bella so we dont need any.
Belle and Shell- grrrrr at DH's. They better watch out Maz is on the prowl.
Thanks for your thoughts about the storm damage.
Anna-Eithan's reflux is getting much much better. He doesnt vomit very often any more when we lay him down, yet we still have the vomits after a feed.
For those expressing and BF- how long does it take to build up enough supply to express. A whole days worth after expressing after every feed produced only 40ml. Last feed I managed 20ml while looking at Eithan. I think I am having trouble with my letdown???? He is getting a feed at 11pm and emptying both breasts and I am feeding him the EBM as a top up to encourage longer sleeps, last night he was looking for more after 40ml. We tried the formula but he was less than impressed, but will take the bottle with EBM in it. Also the no. 1 ADVENT teat doesnt seem to let it out fast enough for him, do you think it is ok to go up to the no.2 or will this cause him to want it from the bottle and not the breast as it might have a faster flow?
Anyways tea time now. Bella's fed, who knows what DH and I will have.
Love
-
Happy birthday charli!! Hope it was a good one.
I will be on the kk and chat thingy! it was fun last time.
I have the avent teats no 1 if anyone wants.I also have 3 anti colic nuk bottles that have the hole in the teat to prevent air bubbles.I want $10 for bottles as i paid $18 and used 1 bottle twice.Just say if ya interested.
Ruby had me up from 4am this morning and wouldnt go back to sleep! In the end i growled at hubby for him to try(he was successful) as i had a headache and had had enough.
I think im ovulating! Have the pains and the other usual signs.Im glad im not doing it!
Gotta go and do something usfull.
Sorry bout your house helen. How awful. The last thing you need.Sounds like u got our bad luck.
-
sorry Charli - how could I forget the birthday girl ... sorry!!
helenp - Maybe give the no.2 teat a go just once, if he takes to that, and also takes to the breast I can't see it being a problem. Also with the formula, maybe he's fussy?
With expressing, do you breastfeed him, then express 40ml? If so, that's pretty good I think, to be able to still express some after a feed. I express about 150ml from each breast when they're full, and I usually can't express any after feeding Nina.
Sorry, not much help am I!!
Good luck with the roof. Praying for no rain for you.
PS: dinner ... what's that? I only know of Nina's dinner LOL
-
Speaking of ovulating, I am, and we are ooopsying, without protection  I've been very moody and cranky lately. I'd better not be pregnant again
-
yes ovulating is why th eparty hats made a appearance this morning I am almost positive I am ovualting the only good thing about that is it looks like I might be able to do it alone this time :yay:
Charli I left my email in a earlier post I would love to be involved in the KK so if you could email as I obviously dont have your info
-
charli, my email address is in my profile. I'll be in on the KK ... what exactly do we do?
-
LOL Jodi_lee I still havent had tea and now Eithan's calling again.

Hi girls.. sorry been flat out today re-doing the top tier of my girlfriends wedding cake. She (durrr) didn't realise that a mud cake would go off if she tried to keep the tier. So I made her another one - but this time with a foam centre so it'll last forever.
Took Xander to the health nurse today... he has gained ANOTHER 500grams.. he now weighs 5.5kgs! She is also very suss that he may well be teething as he is drooling sooooo much and is constantly chewing on his fist. He wont take a dummy to suck, but he will chew on a Happy Baby one so am going out tonight to buy one of those teethers to see if that helps. Of course we wont know if he really is teething until a tooth shows.. but DH was born with one tooth so I guess I shouldn't be too shocked if he is.
Jodi_Lee - The Avent soothers are the ortho ones... brand new, but not much good if Nina only likes the cherry ones!
So if anyone wants size 1 teats or the dummies, just drop me an e-mail (msn addy)
BBL to do personals... gotta pick up DH from train station.
-
Oooppsss... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLI!
-
Anna** - I suspect Nina is going through the same thing, she has her needles tomorrow!!!! so I'll talk to the dr when I'm there. Xander, you're a pig!! 5.5kg ... wow! I think Nina is around 5kg, we'll see tomorrow.
Yes, Nina is very fussy when it comes to teats. Last night I had a different brand teat on the bottle and she refused it, I changed it to the Avent, and she was fine. Fussy Fussy
Charli - thanks for that
-
I put the boy down an HOUR ago...surely he should be asleep, since the only other sleep he's had today has been a 4 hour sleep...and he is crying...I only fed him 1.5 hrs ago, and that was not long after another feed...
Be honest with me girls...am I entering some evil 3 week stage where he won't sleep ever? Should I shave my head so it's not so noticeable to people that I am pulling my freaking hair out?
SIGH.
I haven't even got a chance to read all your posts properly girls, I promise I'll try and go back when I am not so flustered and sleep deprived, if that ever happens...
On the up side, mum has been out tonight and is dropping by to give me some sanity for a few minutes...seeing as Rans is out again tonight. Trust, the 4 hours he was home today, guess who was sleeping? I bet Rans thinks I make all this up...
-
someone remind me why I want to go away again with a 3 week old :sigh: I am so tired and am having to pack car tomorrow because I had a sleep today an ddidn't get clothes packed :sigh:
I would love to just stay home and not go anywhere :(
I am going to be flat chat tomorrow :( getting car packed doing washing and ironing and getting Jack and I ready so when Jase gets home at 3pm all he has to do is shower
I am honestly dead on my feet, it is so darn stinking hot, and I feel like I am in for a bad night, Jack had to be nursed of to sleep he is out of soughts today
ok gone, if I dont get on tomorrow catch ya all next thursday when we get back
Anna I said earlier if you can spare a couple size 1 teats I would love them I don't know you email addy though mine is harrydog@dodo.com.au
-
*sigh* Im getting sick of being awake during the night. When do these monsters start sleeping through the night????????
I think Im going to have to put bub on formula full time cause my milk is practically non existant now even though I still BF :( Guess my supply really does suck.
I will be MIA for the next few weeks so dont worry if Im not around. Apart from the fact we are both sick, as of next Sunday we shall be happy new residents of Victoria :) Our furniture will take 7-10 days to arrive and then I'll have to organise net and stuff. Im excited but sooo not looking forward to the whole packing/unpacking esp when Im sick.
A ? for those FF mums - how many feeds do you give bub a day and how much formula?
Promise to try and pop in before we leave, and hopefully will be able to find a net cafe for a quick hello as well!!!!!
-
annaT jack takes well now about 6-7 100-120ml feeds of S26 but that is the last 3 days before that is was 7-8 90ml feeds
-
Ruby takes 100-125mls generally on the nans formula. And that is every 3-4 hrs.
Charli whats your email addy? I will check my msn again to see if i have you on there!
-
Hi All
Good luck with the move Anna T

xoxo
-
oh little P I can totally simpathise with you as I had Mastisis in my right bb. Big hugs
AnnaT - Vyolett has 180 ml and about 6 times in 24hours. She slept from 8pm last night until 4 am this morning. I was very impressed
Caddie - is NAN a good formula (must be cause your using it) im thinking of changing to it cause of Vy's bowls and poohs.
BBL the elephant is roaring again
