I'm a-sewing curtains today! :D Well...to be fair...so far I've sat on my big ol heiny while mum's pinned...BUT I'm about to sew, honestly! We put Riv down for a nap, but I think that was a bit optimistic, considering we've taken his curtains! So, we'll just barge back in there, sew, give him lunch, and then hopefully he'll sleep.
How's everyone else doing? What are you up to today? We've had so much hard luck in here lately, but I'd love to know how everyone else is doing, even if it's boring!
I know one or two of Maz's close friends from the cloth nappy thread are checking on her today, so they'll keep us posted I imagine!
ETA: Wow Laurin! I keep forgetting to ask what the weather's like in NZ - I'd love to get to NZ sometime in my lifetime! Enjoy your last week there!
-
Yeah I've been keeping up with updates in the other thread.
Helen- :grouphug: So sorry you're having a hard time, I'm really hoping and praying that is just a bleed rather than a m/c you know like how some people still get AF when preg. Good luck with the tests today, I'm thinking of you.
Nelle- Well so far today I have been grocery shopping, cooking Ash up batches meat and blending them up, she'll spit it out if its not blended. And then I have mums group this arvo so very exciting day.
Ambz- oh how excititng, not long at all. Can't wait to hear the news.
Laurin- wow, its come so quickly you finally moving back here, we'll def have to all meet up at some stage, we are a bit slack at planning these things though!
Jodi- How was the BBQ yesterday?
Ness- How is your aunty doing these days? I was watching start Dr Phil and they had couple where the woman had been diagnosed with MS, made me thing of your aunt.
AnnaT- How's everything going with you and having 2 littlies?
-
Im here Shell, just lurking as I dont have alot of time lately for much of anything (hence why my house looks like the local garbage tip!).
Ive just been logging on to keep track of Maz and Annie. Im sorry to hear about both situations, please know Im praying for you both
All I can say is Shell - stick with one kid  No really some days I wonder why I had another one when the first was so easy and independent now, but mostly I just cant wait for this baby stage to be O-V-E-R. Jett completely spoilt us by being an awesome, easy going baby - although Ripley is lovely he is needy and cranky which adds about 10 extra hours onto my day *sigh* I think he might have reflux or colic or something because he has some beautiful moments and periods (like right now) where he settles/sleeps fine and I can have a life, but mostly its waaaaaaaahwaaaaaaaaaaaaah even though he's fed, changed, burped, hugged etc etc He also makes choking sounds, esp after a feed, like he's brought something up and swallowed it back down. He is cute though and I just love him. He's gotten so big already, a month old tomorrow
As for Jett, well I think we're hitting the Terrible Twos a few months early. He's generally good but geez the temper tantrums and attitude when he doesnt like Mama asserting her authority ('Go away Mummy" is what I hear alot) :wall: He loves his 'baaaaby Rippy' though, if I had a $1 for everytime I said "Jett dont touch baby!" Id be richer than James Packer :cryinglaugh: He loves on him all day and tries to put his dummy in his mouth when he cries, so cute. He's in care 2 days a week now because I think he's getting bored at home, esp because atm I cant spend hours playing with him. He drew his first picture at care on friday, Dh was super proud and stuck it on the fridge. Guess its time to get some pencils and a colouring book.
He is being a pain about naptime now though, it takes an hour for him to stop whinging and go to sleep even though he's dead tired - not like him at all. Anyone else having the same problem?
Just a little woohoo for me - tomorrow Ripley will be 4wks old and is also the point where I gave up b/feeding Jett and switched to formula full time. This time - no formula has been used and b/feeding is still going great guns  Im so happy. I just wanted to make it this far and I have, even though its been real tough.
Hope everyone else is having a good day! Id better go have some lunch and Im making a lasagne for dinner so I need to get cracking on that while its quiet on the front :)

New
Hi,
I am new to these forums and was just hoping to join your group. My daughter was born on September 22, 2006.
She is doing all the normal things, walking, talking, throwing tantrums!
Hope to talk to everyone soon,
-
shell - bbq was really good yesterday. Nina and the other toddlers just ran and ran and ran! No wonder Nina slept so well last night.
annat - great to hear the b/f is going so well. Can't help you with Jett's sleeping habits though. Nina loves her drawing and painting. I have a chalk board/white board for her. So one side is a chalk board, the other side I have paper clipped up with some paints available for her. She'll spend hours drawing each day. Definitely worth looking at for Jett. He'll love it. I'm glad Nina's not the only one going through the terrible 2's. Most of the time she's good, but she certainly has her moments. And she only ever tries it on me, never on Daddy!!
Marni - welcome to our group! What is your DD's name?
-
Hi Jodi!
My daughters name is Tiana Lynn.
-
Wow Shell, that's a nice productive day for you! Rans is going shopping after work for me, I've told him my grocery days are on hold til after the baby's born. Funny about the meat - she a bolognaise girl then?
Annat, Riv can spend almost an hour squealing, laughing, banging, playing until there's silence. As long as he's not sounding traumatised, I'll leave him - I figure even the 'down time' is good for him. He definitely has his days where he takes a while to wind down. He's definitely better if I catch his tired signs and put him down straight away.
Keep it up with the b/fing.
Welcome Marni! Tiana's a lovely name!
Haven't really tried Riv with the drawing yet! Should do that. :)
-

Chrissy- Lol, we can't half tell you must be excited bout school going back tomor!
Marni- Hi and welcome to our group!
AnnaT- yay on the BFing going so well. Hopefully in the upcoming weeks Rip will become a bit more settled. Maybe try baby hammock? I never used one but have heard great things about them for unsettled bubs. Some places rent them out so you don't have to go out buy one.
-
good evening ladies :)
welcome marni to our wonderful group :)
your daughter has such a beautiful name! Thats one of the names we have in mind for a girl. My hubby made it up the other day and it sounded so beautiful. im gonna have to break the news to him thats theres another little girl out there with that name. We have both never heard it before. only thing is we would spell it differently :D
as for a boys name we have only one picked out...damn boys names are hard!!
i missed out on alot on these boards and dont have time to read back and catch up. could someone tell me whats happened with annie?? i hope she is ok!
helen- im so sorry to hear your news hun but as someone mentioned i hope its just a period you can get whilst being pregnant xoxoxox
annat- well done on the breast feeding!! keep up the good work
im really wanting to breastfeed this time round, mainly cause it will be so much easier than making bottles with a crying baby who would wake up a sleeping toddler in the middle of the night lol
but also cause i wasnt able to do it the first time round. im a little anxious though cause im worried i wont get enough sleep with bubs constantly waking for a feed. (im going on the info that breast milk digests faster so babies need more feeds??) i hope i dont sound selfish but hubby works night so when he goes back to work i wont have anyone to help me if savanna wakes up from bubs crying. ill be on my own in the middle of the night with two crying children...i guess thats my biggest fear atm. can the mums who breastfed help me out here please!! savanna was a fantastic sleeper once she had her formula. 3 hourly feeds like clockwork then by 6 weeks she was sleeping through the night. how did your breastfed babies do?
any info would be great as im really anxious about breast feeding but would also like to give it ago.
maz- thinking of you hun! going to check the other thread to see how bubs is doing..
night night ladies
luv ambz

Each baby's different Ambzy baby, so I can't tell you bout what yours'll be like, BUT Riv was pretty much a 3-4 hourly feeder from day dot. He was sleeping through by 6 weeks too. So I suspect it might be more of a temperament thing than a b/f vs formula thing? *nelle sends up yet another prayer for another low maintenance baby - no harm in asking, right?* :p
I found b/fing challenging at first, with the nipples getting toughened up, but kept telling myself, just get to 6 weeks, just get to 6 weeks, and at 6 weeks I could see how far we'd come, and things were falling into place! And then, it really becomes worth it when, no matter what time, no matter where you are, you can feed - breastfeeding is just so convenient!! :D And as they get older and more independant, it's nice for there to be that one thing that still only mumma can give.
So, I'd definitely say, be prepared to work at it, expect to have challenges - but I highly recommend you give the booby-juice a shot this time round, it's so worth it.
Yay for school going back Chrissy! :D
I could go to bed, or I could wait for Rans to come back from his concert (he's seeing Dreamtheater), and ask for a slurpee...:p Hmm...
-
Good morning Girls - wishing you all a wonderful day!!!
Welcome Marni to the Sept 06 baby buddies.
Maz - praying for you.
AnnaT - you are doing a fabulous job - just remember that - Rylee is taking about two hours to settle at night now - I thought I had her sorted out but she has reverted to her old ways......
Helen - how are you doing?
Ambz -not long now....
Okay, have a great day everyone.
Laurinxxx
-
Helen - I really hope you received some positive news yesterday, thinking of you :hugs:
Chrissy - Hope Caity goes ok today with the bigger kids going back to school, Ambah was most upset yesterday :(
Ambz - Good luck with breastfeeding, I've got heaps of info, but gotta go right now, I'll pop back on later and maybe email you. ETA: Just read what Nelle said - absolutely agree with everything she said :D
-
Helen, Im so sorry to hear that you are bleeding, I want to let you know im thinking of you today during the ultrasound and BT hon. Will be on to see how you go.
MAZ - Thinking of you
-
HI all
Ambz - nothing up with me.. I think AnnaT was thinking about Anna**.. gets very confusing when we are both Anna's with little boys Alexander! lol
Helen - my thoughts are with you, hope that all is well at the u/s today
MAz - again thinking of you and your family
xoxo

Hi girls.....thank you all for you thoughts for Mateauz. He's getting stronger by the day and with a bit of luck will be out of the hummi crib sometime today. He has alot of blood clots around his brain and a grey area in the middle...dont know the long term affects but he may end up with some brain damage as yet. He is on double dose antibiotics for his strep b infection...which the docs think contributed to his clots. He is of the fluids on the drip cause he is bfing so well (every 4hours and for 40 - 50 mins) and his out is good. Docs said that my immune system and quick thinking probably saved his life. It was very close there at one stage and honestly i have never been so scared in my life. He has to be on antibiotics for 3 weeks and have further tests down the track for the clots ect. Im going home on sunday cause Jed starts work next week and i need to be home for my other babies.....god I miss my kids. Wilhelm starts school today and I cant even be there for it.
Helen -I hope today goes well and that you have positive news to share with everyone late
thanks again for all your thoughts and wonderful prayers girls. will try and get back on later when I know more and need some time out
have a wonderful day eveeryone
xxmaz and mateauz
-
Maz- If you want any company while your in there I'm always nearby. Its awful seeing what you and your family are going thru. I bet all the BFing has helped him heaps too cause all those great things in breast milk will be going in his little body to help him fight that infection. I'm praying there are no long term affects from this. Do the Drs think Mat will be able to go back up on sunday or will he have to stay down here a while longer?
Helen- Hope all is ok? Let us know when you feel up to it what is going on.
Ambz- I'm with what Nelle said to. Ash was BF yet she was different to River, she started sleeping thru by 8 weeks but then started waking again more often, partly I think it could have been me cause I did used to rush in at the slightest noise but I guess you just need to see what temprement this child has. And just take each day at a time, see how you are coping etc. Will your parents still be taking Savanna on weekends? Cause at least that way you can rest up alot then, try sleep when new baby sleeps.
-
Maz- Thanks for popping in honey. Been thinking about you all the time.
Ambz- co close now!! waiting for a message to say you have popped!!!! I am praying to BF this baby too. but I think information is the key. With the girls i was very ill informed and didnt know what was normal or not. But no i know that was i thought was wrong with the girls was actually right.
Playgroup starts back today and im not even dressed and I am hungry too.
Back later
-
I have some friends from playgroup pooping over shortly too.8 kids running a muck.lol Hope my girls behave as millana been up snce 530am.
I was sick last night too.Woke up feeling extremely hot, dizzy ready to chuck.I went to sleep and woke up not too bad.. Strange.
Ruby crying she has a red bum. mmm
nice to see you here maz. I been thinking of you and all you been through and its not fair.
-
Great to see you Maz! Do you have any idea what the long term possibilities are, or is it all a bit unsure? We're so proud of you and your breastfeeding, the dr's are right, I bet it helped him to fight off the infection much more effectively!!
For the last 10 minutes a stupid fly has been determined to sit on my foot - has kept River thoroughly entertained though! Cept he's gone off to poo, I can smell it. Guess I'll change him and put him down for a nap in a tic.
Hope everyone else is well.
-
Hi everyone! Thanks for welcoming me, though at the moment I am still a bit confused as to who everyone is and their children, but I will get there eventually I am sure.
Is everyone having their second or more babies? Or is there still a couple of mums with only one?
-
Marni- It sure feels like eveyone in here is preg again or have more than one! There still is a few of us with just the one at the moment (me included). You'll soon catch on to who everyone is, took me awhile.
Caddie- Hmm you sure you're not utd?
We've had a nice morning, took Ash to the park, she had a ball. There was a little boy there bout 3-4 and Ash ran up to him as she does with most kids and so funny he got scared and ran off closer to his mum, was very cute though.
-
Nah,hope not shell. I think it could been the coeliacs maybe? I will have to ask them i think.I may have been glutenised. I have been hit miss with the pill.I usually miss a day then take 2.I am so bad and last month when i missed a day and was confused discovered id missed 3 pills. But i know if i was because my body tells me straight away with sore boobs!
Helen thinking of you.
Maz give mat a kiss from all of us.
Hi marni forgive me for being rude.Welcome to our zany group.I think we mummies on here have the longest ongoing thread ever!
How are you anna and rikki?
-
Caddie, you are very naughty with the pill, somehow I don't think its quite effective that way, lol.
I was thinking bout you in coles yesterday, you prolly already know but there was a whole part in the freezer section with gluten free stuff, pies, pasties, muffins, breads.I don't know how good they are cause being in the frozen section makes me think they might not be all that great, but its something you can try out.
-
Caddie - mate do you like choc chip cookies? on another website I belong to they have done a coeliacs version of choc chip cookie recipe looks great if you like them I will email you the details.
Helen - just popping in to see how you are.
Welcome Marni.
Hello everyone, im not well at the moment so im sorry but Im not up to more personals. I am thinkign of you all though.

Sounds promising Ambz! When did you go with Savanna? Before or past your EDD?
Caddie, look out mate, or there'll be a Stella (or male equivilent) on the horizon!!
-
Hi Annie! Yes, I'm still lurking.. thanks for thinking of me.
Just popped in here to give lots of hugs to Maz... keep strong hon.
I'm working my butt off as of late - I'm lurking, but rarely have time to post. The new job is going really well, all the office talk of environmental issues has given me heaps of ideas I can help with around the house. Mentally, I am doing so much better... I only have one more check in with my psychologist to make sure I am staying on track, but other than that, I've been "released" so to speak. Oh, and many night of the week I sleep as the insomnia is lots better.
Thats' all from me.. glad to read that you are all mostly doing really well.
-
Argh! Anna, back into the fray! Watch out! :p Great to see you man, how's your artsy stuff going, totally been missing seeing your displays of creativity! Any cakes or paintings lately?
That's grouse that work is going well. And sleeping - what a difference that makes hey. How's your (bet he's not so) little guy going?
-
Maz.. honey thanks for letting us know how things are, have been thinking about you guys constantly. Will continue to pray, but am so proud of the way you are handling yourself, youre such a superior woman.
Helen.. im so sorry for what you are going through. :hugs:
Ambz.. best of luck for the next few days!
Hi Marni!
Shell.. sounds like a great day at the park!
Hello everyone else.. hope you are well.
I went to post last night then BB died so i lost my post! grrrr
Not much been happening here.. Jesse started swimming lessons yesterday which was fun. Other than that, same old stuff. Slowly getting his new room into gear.. need to sew blockout material to his curtains atm.. just finding a time to do it is the tough one as i cant do it while hes up as he will get into everything and when hes asleep he needs the curtains.. might have to do it this weekend when DH is off work so he can distract him while i do it.
I best be off.. someone doesnt like me on the computer!
-
Maz :hugs: thanks for the update :pray:all is AOK with bub
Marni it does get confusing  but I'm Rachel and my son is Jack we have 1 baby on earth 1 in heaven and are TTC another still
Caddie bad girl with you rpill taking :cryinglaugh:
goodluck Amber
 to everyone else
well I have had a bad week so far, Tuesday had my little girl, her mum had came and got her at 10.30am to take her to dr borught her back just after 1pm then as mum was leaving Jase turned up fromw ork sick with gastro bug :( so he went to bed finally got the girl to have a nap then Jack went down then little girl got up after 2hrs transferred Jack into his room she got picked up and within 1hr I was hugging the toilet bowl and basically spent 3/4 tues night there *eww* poor Jase was sick still too, so when Jack woke at 1am I had no patience for gently sleeping so just grabbed him and lay on futon with him, kept getting up to spew......finally at 4.30am put him in cot went back to bed heard him wake at 7am jase got up to him changed him and brought him into me where we slept till 8.50am then I spent all day on futon sleeping, while Jase looked after jack and did some washing
was supposed to have little girl but thankfully dad was on change over shift so could keep her, and today the mum is working from home to let me get 100% feel so much better this morning no spewing since yesterday morn thank goodness anyway so far so good Jack is fine
-
You poor thing Rach,
Hoping you feel better.
Marni - I too am not UTD, but we will probably start TTC in the next few months. I have one little boy.
I too am hopeless with the pill, so I haven't bothered since having J.
I have to go get ready for swimming lessons, so BBL>
-
Yeah Meg, we are gonna be ttc buddies and preg buddies when we start in few months time. We were thinking July, you?
I haven't been on pill either since having Ash, I hate it, always makes me nauseas for 2-3 months so I said I'm never going on it again!
Rach- ew that sucks being sick, prolly good thing the little girl didn't need to come over cause you wouldn't want her to catch it, hopefully jack won't get it. Sick kids are the worst.
Kell- get Dh to take him down the park so you can get into it. Then too you can have bit quiet in the house!
Anna- Hi, good to hear from you, i was wondering how your new job was going. And big yay on mentally being better thats fantastic, I'm sure you feel like a different person getting sleep now.
Ambz- Not long I don't think, I'm hanging for news.
Belle- Hope you are feeling better today, is it still the m/s giving you trouble?
Its so dark and raining here, just feels weird cause can't remember when last had a day like this! At least the plants getting good watering. I even wearing a jumper today.
-
thanks meg and shell
Maz just read a Mat ( I can't spell his name sorry) is out of his humidi crib
