Hey Gracie- I have not seen underbelly either....
I thought I wrote this, well must be on the lost post LOL
MD hope you get to go back home just like you want it. Good idea on FDC, you need a bit of a break and some time for yourself. W is at daycare today and I was able to do a bit of housework and caught up with things.
I called them earlier and he still refused EBM :( It's just never easy, isn?t it. Might pick him up early, dont want him to starve.
Sorry for venting!
lol so i went to ww and in two weeks i have put on 1.1kg eeeeekkkkkk thatll teach me to eat take away 3 times a week 2 weeks in a row!!!
oh i managed to get one of those foam things u guys were talking about.. i couldnt find the big puzzle one :( but i found one that is naughts and crosses so its like a big two coloured sqaure mat that u put together like a puzzle and theres big naughts and crosses that came with it iykwim.. its not that big 90cm - 90cm but thats kinda good for us anyway because we only have a very small loungeroom :) shes having fun on it and its better then the cold lino lol and better if she hits her head too lol and shes not on a banket slipping and sliding all over the place lol...

sherie - wow what a clever boy trying to feed himself.. asha grabsthe spoon n pulls it to her mouth while i;m still holding it lol
hi to anyone i missed
Hi ladies
Well FDC have rung me to give me two names to ring and visit (!) which is kind of scary and a relief all at once. I'll have to drag the breastpump out tonight, I've got this far and never expressed  - I've been making her cereal up with just water, but I used a tiny bit of EBM yesterday and it tasted so much nicer LOL (bad mummy MD). E's wolfing her purees down now :). Didn't think she'd be a reluctant eater.
Hi Noni, I had WW Wednesday at the dietician and I've put on weight too  (well what do you expect, it was Easter, right?) Oops back to post-baby weight. Gotta get me into some kind of pram-walking group or something. Glad you found thegood mat, sounds like A is having a ball on it!
Agnes, you poor thing with W still refusing the EBM - have you tried giving it in different sorts of cups, etc...and have you tasted it to make sure it still tastes nice (some mums have a problem with an enzyme in their milk making it taste funny - solution is to scald the milk just after you've expressed).
Gracie I decided not to watch underbelly...too much seediness for me, I had my fill in SA with the whole snowtown murders thing. I'll watch pretty much any other trash though :).
Clare did I understand right, your DH is called Lorenzo? That's a bit funny for me cos my Dad has a giant silver poodle called Lorenzo, it was an Italian car racing reference I think, cos my Dad is in love with everything from Italy most especially vintage Alfas. :)
Jazmum, well done with the Christening and I agree with everyone, what a cutiepatootie! Thanks for your words of wisdom in the last thread, reminding me to put it out there and the Universe will bring it to me! (which I'm normally pretty good at remembering, but DH's employment is the one and only area of my life where I feel completely disempowered and voiceless).
Sherie, good luck with A's vacc's...I have yet to get E's 6 mths ones too. Bad timing since DH is away again next week .
OK, better keep this short, my mouse is acting up.
hi everyone
agnes - how was W when you picked him up today? Did he have a good day?
noni - bummer about the weight gain. I really need to lose some weight. I can't stand looking at myself in photos at the moment. I want to buy some new jeans too, but i think i need to wait until i've lost a some weight. Great that you found the mat everyone was talking about.
leanne - what is wrong with little Jordy?
We had such a bad night last night. I'd given H half a banana to chew on (most of it ended up smeared all over the high chair) a little rice cereal, some apple, and for dinner a little piece of potato, parsnip and carrot put into her mesh bag.
We were up so many times and she was squirming around like a little worm. She has also been really spewy. If it's not one thing it's the other.
JaZmum, your ticker pic of Hannah is absolutely adorable! She is such a cutie. LOL at the toilet roll cover
Noni, I will join the supposed-to-be-losing-weight-but-gaining-it-instead club :( I was doing sort of o.k, but then once Will started solids I realised that me eating sugar didn't bother him anymore and well, it was easter.
MD, good luck with the FDC ladies. It will be nice for you to have some time to yourself when your DH is away. I would go crazy if DH wasn't here to do bathtime and give me a break after work.
Leanne, hope your boys are feeling better
Agnes, hope that W was o.k at daycare even if he wouldn't drink.
Last night I made a tortilla pie and gave W some potatoes, kumera and chicken that I left separate but he wouldn't eat it - then I gave him some of the pie and he wolfed it down. I think it was because the other stuff had gone cold. Tonight we had pie reheat but he preferred the corn muffins I made (yay - he likes my cooking!)
He loves the nappy in the bin trick, after nappy time he searches for the used one and carries it with a huge smile on his face (except at bathtime when he drops it and heads down the hallway lol)
waaa ashas been sooo grumpy!! i think she has an upset tummy.. i have her a biscuit today thats the only thing i can think of that might have caused it.. shes sooo windy lol trumpet bum!! and sooo unsettled she wouldnt eat her dinner and she drank her bottle in two goes but still didnt finish it.. u know come to think of it she drank her bottle in two halves before the biscuit... mmmmm but now shes gone to bed because she was so cranky and tired and thats what she wanted and i couldnt get her to drink so now god knows when we will be up tonight waaaaaaaaa *throws tantrum*
Hi girls!
well had another big day...a half hour walk with another mum and ended up getting home 4 hours later...again coffee and too much food...egad!
Hi Jazmum! our mums group tends to meet twice a week. one day is just a sit down with the babes rolling about on the floor and the other is for walks in the park, followed by coffee and cake. we love it as it gets us out of the house and able to talk about baby poo without boring anyone!! i think there are 10 of us in the group and our babes range from 4 weeks to 7 months. there is definitely a baby boom going on here!
And i LOVE the piccy on the ticker! what a great expression she has!!
oh and isnt the late night 'dancing' in the cot annoying?! leila goes beserk in there and has a little party and then finds that she cant wriggle out of the corner...oh the joys! lol
Agnes: yeah the coffee is a 'naughty' for us BF mums, but my oh my it is a great guilty pleasure! lol! when i am feeling too indulgent i swing towards the decaf...
wow 5 teeth! that is so impressive. leila is still a gummy grandma, although that doesnt stop her from clamping down on me! cheeky little thing.
Gracie: yeah being a melbourne-ite, i feel left out in not having seen underbelly; everyone i speak to has seen it and everyone is very covert in asking if you have seen it. is it any good???
MD: that is so funny! most people have never heard lorenzo's name before and they constantly call him lawrence...i told him that now he is an oz citizen he should really be called "lozza" LOL!! he would fall over backwards!!
and your dad obviously has good taste in all things italian!! lol!! our friend is actually a designer for alfa in italy and i have to say that since knowing him my appreciation for 'fast' cars has grown! he takes us out in the demo cars before they are released to show the tricks. i of course have no idea about cars but i do like that the passenger mirror as little lights that light up when you flick down the sun visor at night! a girl can never be too careful when applying her makeup!! LOL!! trust the italians....
Noni: glad you found a good mat. does asha like it? and yeah i feel more comfortable with leila on hers as it doesnt get pulled up and it does provide some cushioning from the inevitable tumbles. and you are a brave woman even trying to tackle the wicked weight! i wish i had your strength! i am waaayyy to scared to even go there sista LOL.
Leanne: sending you good luck for you and Olivia on Friday for her first day at 'school'. and big well wishes for your little boy.
ok best be off as leila is threatening to wake up...arrghhhhhhhh!!
oh noni! it seems that we'll both be having 'interesting' nights!! leila is being a grumble bum too...
Hannah's been a grumble bum too!!!! took ages to get her to relax and go to sleep!!!
Hope all the grumble bums have settled down!
YAY Big news here today ladies...Maddie is sitting on her own! She is doing so well, she falls if she sways too far one side and starts to slouch after about a minute, but I cant believe it, its seriously come outta no where. I took plenty of pics which I will put up soon.
We have had such a big day. I had a mums group at my house which was excellent, the girls were great company as usual. Their bubs are all little cuties. Renee it was a bummer that you couldnt come, next time I'll give you more notice! After that Maddie had her 6 mth needles and she was so brave, just a little cry, and so far she is still happy.
Jazmum - Aww Hannah looks gorgeous in her christening dress. Glad it all went well for you. I hope you have a good sleep tonight, do you think its the solids?
Leanne - Oh no poor boys! What did the paediatrician say? Hope you get a decent nights sleep.
Noni - Yay glad you got a nice little mat for Asha. They are so handy, cheap and also brighten up the play area.
Sherie - Alister is doing very well with his solid food by the sounds of it.
Clare - Wow you did have a good time at mums group. My DP is Italian too - well born in Australia to Italian parents. One thing I have noticed is that Italians are all about family and food and I love it hehe.
Gracie - Yay underbelly is on tonight, I am a big fan hehe.
Marydean - Good luck with the FDC interviews!
Arte - Cant believe Wills little nappy trick, what a clever boy.
William is in daycare again, finger crossed he drinks his milk this time  DH is still unwell and didnt go to work. Funny how we both stayed at home and W is away. Feels like W is the breadwinner ;)
Gracie, I havent seen underbelly either, now you make me want to watch it LOL
Noni, dont feel bad with the weight, you have done so well to date. How is Asha today, hope she is better
MD, GL with FDC visits and interviews. I tried different bottles and cups and I did taste the milk (felt a bit awkward the first time I was going to taste it ;) ) it was okay I guess, taste like usual milk. I even made funny faces, sang, and danced while giving him the bottle. Sometimes I did it outside the house so he could see the leaves etc. Hope no one saw me making funny faces and singing silly songs LOL
Jazmum, I think he actually had fun yesterday. It was a lovely day here in Melb and when I picked him up he was playing outside in the sandpit. He was okay playing there until he saw me and started to whine, cheeky boy. Hope H is better today. Ikwym with the banana all over the chair LOL
Arte, thanks. The nappy trick is quite funny. I hope I remembered correctly, did you say he can now stand up and walk with support? What a clever boy!
Pregpan, I must have written this in the lost post, was saying that your cooking sounds delicious. Makes me hungry LOL How is work?
Clare, I wish I went to the park yesterday. The weather was so lovely, wasnt it.
Hayley, yay on the sitting. Well done Maddie!
Just found out that one of the babies from mums group went on a surgery yesterday, poor bubba. I think this is his second surgery after birth. We are going to send them flower today. I talked to the mother and he hadnt had anything to eat since Saturday, Hope he feels better soon.
Cally, how is K and sleep school?
Wondering where is Renee. And Queenie too.
Hope everyone is well.
hey everyone
well asha is much better this morning.. she woke up at 1am for her bottle which sucked lol but then she woke again at 8 which wasnt too bad..
shes making big progress just since yesterday with her new mat.. shes started to get up on her knees and kinda elbows or forearms and rock a little so hoping the mat is helping her progress.. feeling happy i went with that over a rug this morning when she spewed all over it lol..
haley - i wish i could find the bright alphabet one!! the one i got is orange and black squares though still brightens things up.. i wanted the alphabet or numbers puzzle though as we had those at the childcare centre and they were so nice lol well not once the kids had chewed them and used them as frisbees but i imagine they were nice to start with lol oh well this one does the job!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! to Maddie for sitting up on her own what a clever girl!! I try and sit asha up and she just slumps over lol and then holds herself up with her hands on the floor lol it looks sooo funny...
cassius - i have to tackle the weight lol i am the sort that gets really depressed about personal appearance (you could say shallow lol) and with previous rocky mental history i figure i better tackle it because even though i have lost about 12kg i am still depressed about the way i look...
Noni LOL at being glad you bought the mat!
Congrats to Maddie sitting up like a big girl! :)
Agnes, I'm sure as you persevere and he gets used to being there and starts to notice how hungry/thirsty he is, he will start drinking just fine. We've been trying to teach E to drink from a cup, she really has no idea at all. I bought two new ones yesterday but she's still going best with the Tupperware sippy cup lid - those no-leak cups require too much actual sucking and she just hasn't twigged how to do that! DD1 just drank out of a cheap sippy cup first time I gave it to her so this is all new to me too.
Clare, LOL at "lozza"...my Dad would wet himself if he knew a REAL Alfa designer! I have an Italian uncle (by marriage) and I agree with Hayley about food and family (oooh I just loooove going to their place for lunch...I could never hope to compete LOL). Also worked in a drs surgery in a v.Italian area, I speak French and understand Spanish and I used to love the multi-lingual conversations!
Hey I meant to ask after Sherie said something about turning her images on - with ppl's tickers, do you see a picture in the ticker or do you see a link that you have to click on to see the picture? I just see a link but it sounds like some of you see a picture?
Gotta go, bettybubs is squawking.
ETA, Leanne, how's little Jordie today?
*waves hands* Im here :) Ive been so lost with all the post I couldnt find a right time to jump in haha!
Noni - Im glad Asha is feeling better today.
Agnes - I hope W drinks his milk today too. Fingers crossed. Like Marydean said after a while he will be just fine. Hope the bub from mothers group is doing okay, poor darling. I couldnt imagine going through anything like that!
Hayley - Thanx for inviting me yesterday. I wish I could of made it though :( You sound like you had a great morning. Maddie is soooo clever sitting up already. Rory has no interest in sitting at all, he wants to comando crawl and thats it.
Jazmum - Love your new ticker. H is just beautiful :)
Clare -Ahhhhhhh isnt that the life! I love days like that, hanging out with bubs, gossiping, over eating haha.:) Love your ticker too. Leila is a real cutie-pie!!!:
well had another big day...a half hour walk with another mum and ended up getting home 4 hours later...again coffee and too much food...egad!
Art - Whoaaa W is such a clever boy eating all those yummy foods. Hearing about what you give W has given me a shove to give Rory proper food. On Tuesday he was eating the meat from my roast beef roll and he LOVED it, no choking either :)
Sherie - How did you go with A's needles??
Marydean - How have you been going with the breast pump?? Did you end up calling the people that FDC recommended?
Rory had his needles yesterday, they hurt quite a bit more than last time it seems. He was turning on the charm as usual though. When signing the forms the receptionist asked if I needed her to hold Rory, I laughed because I thought she was joking as I was fine, next thing I know she took him off me and was wondering around behind the reception showing him the computer and talking baby talk haha. All the girls were crowding around him and he loved every second of it.
He had diarrheoa last night and it exploded all over me out of his nappy! Ewwww that had never happened to me before....or him! Poor thing, needles arent nice!
Better run, Rorys mid morning nap should be over soon so I should jump into the shower.
eta Rory is a wheetbix kid now!! He has a whole weetbix every morning and he loves it...although I do have to add fruit puree to it :)
just a quick jump on have been very busy today.. went to meet mothers group but was really late and it was only by luck i found them in the shopping centre at a cafe lol.. after that i went to do some clothes shopping i was very excited to buy a pair of size 11 pants from jjs and then when i went to big w to look for cheap jeans i fit a size 10 so had to buy them!!! i also bought a dress to wear over pants and a long sleeved casual top both size ten i was soooooo excited haha!! no wonder my size 14 clothes are hanging off me atm lol lol... i also bought some nice earings haha i dnt think dp will be happy even though they were only 20 bucks he set me a budget and i did go over it lol ahhhh well he probably wont even notice them if i chuck out the bag and box they came in even though i'm wearing them hahaha...
renee - ewwww about the explosive pooing lol.. sounds like rory is a real ladies man haha turning on the charm!!
md - i was wondering that too i only ever see the links to the images not the actual images..
Hiya ladies!!
i am needing some 'time out' at the moment as i have to give a paper this evening at uni...eeeeeeeppppp! slightly nervous as it is my first at this uni in front of these people...and also i am bummed because it wont finish until 6.30 and i KNOW that leila is not going to be happy when i get home...
great to hear from you Renee! and yes, it was quite the feat for me to get the ticker thing up and running. computers are definitely not my forte! and i would LOVE leila to do commando crawling like Rory! lol, that sounds hilarious!
you gotta love the mum days! always a much needed outlet to vent!
MD: yeah i make lorenzo do all the cooking. there is no way that i can make risotto fluffy and light...mine are all like bricks, and he just ends up laughing at it!! and i figure i married him, i might as well enjoy the benefits of the italian lifestyle and that most definitely includes the eating! and what are the sippy cups? leila has the no leak one but is getting frustrated at how hard it is to get the reward...need to find an alternative.
oh Noni you had a much better night than me by the sounds of it! leila slept until 3am but decided to get up and not go down without a fight. it's really unusual for her as she has been sleeping through (fairly consistently) since 8 weeks and has never struggled to go to sleep. i guess it's all the new tricks that she is learning (especially sitting up in her cot and banging the rails!)...12 kgs that is fantastic!! man i stacked it on when i got pg. i think i hit the 15kg mark...they made me get weighed when i was in labour (how shocking!). luckily i am starting (but only starting egad!) to get back in my pre bub jeans. tops are still a bit wacky, but i am trying to tell myself thats because of the all the bf...i live in eternal hope! maybe i should go to the pool and do some laps; i find that is the only excersise i can tolerate.
Agnes i feel for you! leila was exactly the same. she got to the point where if she saw the bottle she would start screaming...one of the ways we conquered her was to practice at home; i would give her a bit of boob and then when the immediate hunger had worn off, i would pop in the bottle (it worked really well when she was in the 'milk coma' state - you know when they go all relaxed...). that kind of the broke the ice.
and the weather was great! i found we got too hot (can u believe?!) and so we popped into the library to see what jemima puddle duck and curious george were up to. although leila started getting really excited and her squeals were echoing off the back walls - not exactly great library manners!
Hayley: congrats to Maddie! they think they are so cool when they do it dont they?! the cheeky little monsters! lol! how brave of you to have all the mums at your place. i can barely fit one pram into the terrace let alone a whole swathe of them! do you have to prepare food and drinks or is it shared? sorry the q's. we are just starting out on our own and we need playgroup ideas...and a venue (but that is turning out to be complicated...baby boom = no baby room!
and yeah, as i said to MD above, the food is definitely a bonus when marrying an italian (it also helps that both he and his brother are trained chefs back in italy...and they are competitive so when we go back there are always cook offs...i am the willing food critic LOL!!)
anyway best be off as this is raging outta control!:)
Good luck with the paper, Clare. I've pm'ed you a picture of the tupperware cups I mean (off ebay where else LOL). BTW that's a really good tip for introducing the bottle.
Noni, well done with the shopping, i went into my fave shop yesterday and they had lots of nice things for winter so I'll have to go back...having severe wardrobe blues ATM!
Renee, no I haven't rung the ladies yet as DH saw the lady across the road last night and it sounds like she might still have a place...so I"ll talk to her first.
