Oh Renee thats terrible! Your family has been hit bad with cancer lately. :( Such a horrible illness, i'd be so happy if they could somehow find some magical cure. I hope your Aunty gets better, how sad for your mum.
I'll be back later for more just quickly popped on to say the above.
-
Asha has her injections late this avo too :(
asha is in love with vegemite lol she had vegemite toast and dropped alot of it and wanted more lol so i put some vegemite on a rusk and she has just about sucked all the vegemite off lol its bloody everywhere though!!
renee - look after your mum.. hope everything turns out for the best and its not cancer
md - not sure if there is a guide? on the back of the formula tin it says 210 - 3-4 times a day for 6mths plus i spose asha is probably getting 3 210s a day out of her 4 bottles that she dosnt drink all of but its hard to tell..
-
back from the injections and the littleman is asleep now.. he was so good, a few little cries when they went in but nothing too bad... now he is tired, i wonder how long he will sleep for.
Renee - i am so sorry to hear about your aunty, and i am sure it is an awful time for your mum and for you. thinking of you.
noni - cant be of much help with the less bottles and i mainly bf noah, but i must say when i did intro the bottle of formula (he now has 1 bottle of formula a day ready for my return to work) there is no way he can drink the larger amiounts all at once like the tin says. max he will take at one go is150ml. i agree with md they would drink less now it is cooler, Noah is (in bfeeds). i think he has prob dropped a whole feed. dont worry too much about it, you could try bottle before solids if you think that would help. Good luck with the house! I would keep calling. and HUGE congrats on the MUMMA - I wanna hear that!!!
The fish recipe makes a lot, maybe 8 meals (maybe more) - i froze it in ice cubes.
ETA Noah is also a vegemite fan! squeals when the vege toast comes near him!
-
Pregpan, how many icecubes of frozen gourmet meals do you give Noah at each sitting? E is up to 3 cubes (mostly veggie) but she wolfed down an entire weetbix this morning plus a big spoonful of apple as well. Just curious...
-
pregpan - i actually got my mum to ring the real estate this morning as she has written a letter that i put with our application that says she is willing to be garauntour on the lease and has sent a copy of her payslip etc to them lol.. the property manager said " i know noni and michael have been waiting to hear back on the property. my computer has been down and i am waiting on a response via email from the property owner and will hopefully know today" what a cop out!!
md - asha at breakfast will eat one frozen cube of fruit with 4 - 5 tablespoons (before adding water) of her cereal.. lunch time shed eat say two cubes mixed with cous cous or the equivalent.. she eats a whole small jar of babyfood when i run out of things to give her.. dinner last night she probably ate around 3 cubes worth of rice pudding when she dosnt usually eat dinner lol shes becoming a real guts!!
-
oh well noni at least you know that it isnt that you didnt get the house. let us know!
md - noah prob has 5 cubes per meal!! the little piglet!!! he has a mix of the protein and veges and also fruit and sometimes yoghurt or custard. in fat now i think about it i reckon he eats more that 5 cubes at some meals LOL! i am also starting w the figer foods so sometimes he also chews on a piece of toast or today he had cheese.... it sounds like a lot when iput it like that LOL. but no affect AT ALL on his milk intake. i guess thats why he is 9.5kg!!!
-
well we didnt get the house surprise surprise.. owner knocked back all the applications and put it back on the market. way to waste ppls time.. i am so over it we are never gonna get anywhere we like coz we are obviously not good enough
-
Noni - What a bummer! Do they have the shared equity scheme over there where you buy a 60% share in a house and the govt put up the money for the remaining 40%? We have noticed a heap of first home owners here in WA using that scheme to get themselves into their own home. You should look into it. Rental properties are in high demand so owners can afford to be fussy and get top dollar rent as well. Yay for Asha on saying mumma!
Pregpan - Can you use cows milk in cooking for babies? The fish recipe sounds delish! Thanks for posting I'll be giving it a go.
Renee - Maddie isnt taking a full bottle anymore either. Its strange! Maybe MD is right with the change in weather theory? I guess as long as they arent waking at night hungry then they are fine.
Marydean - Wow E is doing well having a full weetbix! When Maddie was interested, she was taking 3 cubes of solids per meal.
We have another vegemite lover here!!!
I've just done the sneekiest thing girls...as you all know we are going o/seas later this yr and we left it up to the in laws to book it all. Well they requested adjoining rooms in the hotels!!! Ahhhh! So I've put a stop to that, just called the travel agent and they have discretely changed those plans so we will be having our own seperate rooms with no way of the MIL bursting in 24/7 lol. I am so naughty. Just hoping that we dont get there and they say no we wanted adjoining rooms and change it, seeing as they arrive during the day and we arrive at night. (they are coming from London rather than Perth like us)
-
oh gosh ajoining rooms full on!!!
dunno about the money thing but we have none so cant buy anyway :(
-
Noni, it isn't your fault that you didn't get the house. I am sure something will come up when you aren't expecting it.
Pregpan, gee N loves his food! W still refuses to eat from a spoon.
Ozstar, forgot to say WTG Logan for the crawling! All the bubs are doing so many new things it is hard to keep up now. You seem to be tired a lot at the moment, is he still not sleeping well or are you just busy lately?
Well, I tried to pat/rub/shush W to sleep instead of feeding last night and it was a disaster. I fed him the the first time, rubbed him back to sleep after the first wake up, then he woke 10 minutes later and was getting upset so I fed him. Rubbed him the next two wake ups then feed him at the next one (my boob was sore). It was only midnight and he had already woken 6 times. He woke another 3-4 times before he decided to get up at 5am. I just can't stay awake to be consistent if he wakes at the end of every sleep cycle. It is impossible to rub and shush for 20 minutes when he wakes up half an hour later and I have to start again. Maybe if it was only 2 or 3 times a night I could manage it but with this amount of waking I can't. At least if I feed him as soon as he wakes I am only awake for a couple of minutes and can go back to sleep. So it was a bit of a failure for us. Not sure what to do, I am worried that this will continue for months more and I really do need to get a decent sleep at some stage.
ETA Hayley, I think you are fully entitled to switch the rooms! Nothing less romantic than the inlaws in the room next door
-
I know...how romantic!!! lol. They have no idea hey. I just hope to hell that they dont convince the hotel staff to provide us with adjoining rooms. I hope I havent made a big mistake here by going on holiday with the in laws....
-
Hopefully the hotel will be booked out so they can't switch it back. Do you get along well with them usually? At least you have baby sitters handy if you and DP want to go out for a bit of alone time
-
Hayley- Hehehehehe I love it... We were suppose to go to vegas with DH in Sept but I didnt want to spend the money. Now he is asking us to go to Aspen in Feb so I told him I would think about it.. My MIL is going too... Thinking Thinking and Thinking....
Art- Do you use dummies?
Renee- Olivia is not drinking all her bottles either.. I was thinking it was because of her eating her solids and I have been giving her water too.
Noni- Sorry about the house... I know you will get one soon...
-
omg asha just wont shutup! i know thats mean but shes really getting on my nerves winge winge winge and i have no idea why!!! shes having her needles this avo so tmw sure is going to be fun if this is what its been like today!!!
waaaaaaaa nothings going right for me atm...
-
hello lovely ladies
renee- so sorry about your aunty hun. give your poor mum a big cuddle...
leanne- hope jordy is doing better. poor love. i'm on movicol too (sorry tmi!) i love the stuff! it's great, i was going to say to you, sometimes it takes a few days to take effect but when it does, it's fantastic.
pregpan- you sre such a little nigella! i love it
noni- sorry about the house, that sux!
hayley- well done on changing the mil's plans. you sneaky little thing!
arte- sorry you're having such a hard time with w's sleep atm...
hi md and sherie and katie!
i've been so lazy girls and haven't bothered taking lewis to the mchn for his 6 month check up. i'm so slack! i just can't be bothered cos she's so useless anyway, i just feel like it's a waste of my time. anyway, will have to make an appointment for next week i think. i don't even know what he weighs now....mmm might jump on the home scales with him and see.
for any of you that are spotlight vip members apparantely there's a catalogue coming out in the mail in the next few days that lewis is in. i haven't seen it but i'm told it's a full page spread ad for mini b brand cot sheets. keep your eye open for him. we have a casting in the morning for a target catalogue too so fingers crossed. i'm such a friggin stage mum now i can't believe it! lol
oh btw, i was flicking through my digital camera and found a photo that is eerily similar to my avatar- i've put it in my gallery..check it out for a laugh
-
I just taught Will to wave! It is very cute and I got it on video
Leemar, I tried a dummy but he won't take it
Renee, hope your aunts growth is nothing sinister. They found a lump on my bowel when I had my 12 week scan but said that it is very common.
Gracie, that picture is cool, you are hot! Cool news about the catalogue!
Noni, Will has been a grumper today too.
-
Big hug Noni, you're turn will come! I hear you on the whinge whinge whinge...always happens when you're at your lowest too . Maybe she will surprise you tomorrow and be happy and laughing!
Gracie - freaky about the photo LOL. You'll have to tell us what page Lewis is on so we can all have a sticky and admire our famous friends! Speaking of which, did McLeod's Daughters ever come back on tv?
Arte, well done W with the waving...we were at the FDC lady's house and all the kids were waving good bye and I might've imagined it but E sort of flapped her arm in a deliberate fashion...ok well definitely not a wave but I wondered if it was a pre-wave LOL.
Katie OMG I'm so daft at the moment, I think I completely missed you telling us that Logan is crawling...?! Sorry hun.
-
Gracie I have the spotlight catalogue and see the add. Is he wearing a knit jumper and hat? He looks so cute with his little toothie grin (looks very different) Freakish about your AV pic, they are very alike.
MD lol at you missing about Logan crawling, there is always so much going on in here its hard to keep up. I cant for the life of me remember who's bubs have teeth lol.
Arte thats so cute that Will can wave, he is so clever. You know DH said something to me last night about being tired all the time, I think because Logan is sleeping better my body has to adjust to the extra sleep. Well thats what I hope anyway, I will keep an eye on it.
Noni  sounds like you have had a crappy day. I hope tomorrow is better for you.
Hayley OMG at the adjoining rooms, good on you for changing it..I would have done the same thing.
Renee big  I hope your Aunt is ok.
I totally forget everything else I was going to say.
-
Hehe Katie - I know why you're tired, it's because Logan is crawling !
ETA - my Spotlight catalogue seems to come via drover's wagon from SA or something... I'll be waiting awhile before I catch a glimpse.
-
mmmm katie....no hat and no knit jumper...don't think that's him lmao, must be some other spotlight baby. is it the vip members catalogue?
congrats on logan crawling- what a little champ!
i'll have a look and see if i can download the proof into my gallery..be back in a tic!
eta- *ok* just checked my email again, tried to upload the pic to my gallery but couldn't do it cos it's a pdf. i'm so computer illiterate! apparantly when you get your spotlight vip catalogue in the mail you also get an extra one page ad sheet for mini b sheets which he is on. it's also supposed to be the back cover of the june edition of 'get creative' magazine that you buy instore. i might have to go down there in the next few days and check it out for myself :)
i really want some chocolate and there's none in this house. do you think af might be making her second appearance?? hope not
-
Hello everyone. Just popping in to say thankyou very much for all the Happy Birthdays yesterday.
My holiday is finished and back at work today :(
Charli has started to say her first word - bubba! I'm hoping mumma is just around the corner . Way to go asha for saying mumma! Noni, don't stress, you will get the right house soon enough.
Sorry this is brief. I'll have to catch up on all the posts on my day off on thursday.
-
Hi everyone
Gracie - i found it!!!! He's soooo adorable! As soon as i read your last post, I went and fished the catalogue out of the bin ( through the girls uneaten spaghetti bog!!lol) I found the one that Katie saw, and then i just went and found the page you said, under a bit more spag bog)
Leanne - how would you feel about taking Jordy to see a Bowen practitioner? Hannah was only going once every 5-6 days, and after her last visit, she's been going every day.
I hope your family is all better really soon.
Fianne - congratulations!!!! Glad you had a great time - a shame that you didn't get to spend as much time as you would have liked to with your sis
Katie - yay at Logan crawling - it's harder to relax now isn't it!
renee - i hope everything turns out to be ok for your aunty. to you and your family.
cally - i'm so glad that sleep school worked out so well for you all. You must feel fantastic.
md - when do you express? I haven't done any this time either, and i think i need to. DH has passed up some great nights out for the 2 of us, because I need to feed Hannah. Have been thinking about introducing formula, but i just don't know what to buy and how to start.
noni - i hope asha has settled for you.
i'm sorry everyone - i'm getting a cold and am all stuffed up - i meant to do personals for everyone, but now i can't remember. Hi to you all XXX
Our weekend away was lovely. dh was in the bridal party, and so wasn't around to help me get everyone ready. There was a lot of swearing happening that day, as nothing seemed to go right. Hannah was tired, and so screamed every time i put her down, Z's pretty outfit had a malfunction - so had to find something else at the last minute - Hannah pinched my nipple and made it bleed, and i got a ladder in my only pair of stockings!!!!! I was able to laugh about it once i'd calmed down though.
Hannah is also waving - she just moves her hand from her wrist (for anyone that's old enough to remember Victoria Nichols off Sale of the Century - it's a little similar to her wave lol.) When she does it she says ' Ha' for 'hi'. it's so gorgeous.
eta - if you google spotlight catalogue - you can find the picture of Lewis!! It's the 'brighten up the kid's bedroom one - page 2.
-
hey there..
my gp kinda burst our bubble tonight when he said they are babbling but babies dnt say words for ages yet idk i thought she did but maybe it is just babble??
gracie - i get the spotlight vip catologue will keep an eye out.. wow someone told me i should put Asha in adds because shes so beautiful and could pay her way in uni from the money she would make lol...
-
hi noni - i may have tended to agree with the dr at one stage - but after hearing Hannah say 'ha' for each time she waves her hand - i'm not so sure. She says 'dadada' but i know that's just babble.
-
Jazmum, are you sure you can't remember from the cold or has your brain dropped out permanently like mine? I was just in the "your body after birth" section to post about my complete and ongoing loss of short term memory when I found another post and FORGOT COMPLETELY why I was looking in there. LOL Oh dear, I can't remember words either, I keep saying 'um you know the thingy thing' *sigh*. It doesn't help that I just finished a novel about a man with a brain tumour so now I'm completely paranoid as well as not being able to remember that I've been meaning to google "memory loss after birth".
Re your expressing question. I was so freaked out the first day I tried and got only 40 mls that I decided to leave it a few days before trying again. Since then E is eating more solids and has just learnt how to suck on her cup (big big big WooHoo) and she drank said 40mls of EBM this morning from her sippy cup instead of spitting it all down her front. Funnily enough she did her excited breathing that she does just before she has boobie so she 'knew' what it was. So now I'm feeling like it's not a complete waste of my time persevering with the expressing. I have however decided to drop the notion of expressing in order to cook with the EBM - I'll just be freezing for future drinking, and I'll cook with rice milk instead. Umm what was the question again (I know, long winded reply). Oh yes, best to do it in the morning when your supply is up, but really in practice it will work best when you're relaxed and not under pressure. If you're really tricky you can express one boob while bubs is feeing on the other (helps with the let down) but right now I think I'd need a 3rd hand for that! I really have no clue about the formula but I'm pretty keen to avoid it as we're not going to do dairy until E is closer to 1 yo. Pregpan might have some ideas as she's just started N on it and sounds like it's going pretty well for them.
Ooh ooh ooh - I recognise those gorgeous blue peepers Gracie - that's an excellent picture in the catalogue! :)
ETA - Noni - Pooh to your GP. I remember when DD1 was born they said babies couldn't smile for real until after the 6-8 week mark and we all know that's not true! I think our babies actually do and say a lot more than we think they do, we're just not always paying attention to the very subtle ways they do it!
-
Gracie I found it. Its a close up of his handsome little face, no wonder I thought he looked different lmao.
-
yah Jaz!!! you're a champion!
i just googled it and found it, that's the first time i've seen the picture in the actual catalogue, it's my chubby little man!
md- i know what you mean about forgetting everything, i am an absolute shocker. i have trouble completing a full load of washing these days, i get half way through and forget i'm even doing it, then walk past later and notice the machine is half full!
-
thanks md - so how long after the morning feed do you express? I don't really want to go down the formula track either. It's just so easy for me to breastfeed. I think i might need to keep away from the dairy too - i've given hannah some yoghurt twice, and each time she has thrown it up. Can you give rice milk now? I've also been adding boiled water to Hannah's rice cereal.
you must be such a proud mumma Gracie!!!
-
i'm very proud....i'll be even prouder if he gets the Target gig in the morning! lmao
-
Jazmum I fed on one boob and expressed on the other about half an hour later. I was really stressed at only getting 40 mls using my pump as I got nearly that with a quick round of hand expressing last week, but I guess if we're using it only occasionally I can freeze that and then keep adding to it in layers until I've got a decent amount. I think DD1 was 8 months when I saw the dietician and she toldme about rice milk but said to get the so natural brand (can't remember why but when I looked at my notes So Natural was underlined). I only use a tiny amount in cooking because it's not suitable to replace breastmilk or formula at this age. I would also give it to her in a cup on the odd occasion if I was caught out away from her and there was no EBM available, but not on a regular basis at this stage. I find it really handy for things like weetbix but also for cooking semolina and cornflour-based custards, which when you're not doing yoghurt or milk yet is pretty damn handy. If you think H has had a reaction to the dairy it might be worth seeing a dietician yourself??
-
thank you for all the wedding wishes. will try to post some photos. we actually have the wedding on the net but since we can?t post links....
katie, yes, max was at the wedding. unfortunately not in costume coz? i really didn?t have the time to go looking for something in theme. and i?d bought her so much clothes already i figured she can wear something that i?ve just bought.
everyone congratulations on the milestones that your little ones have achieved (asha-sitting and saying dada, logan-crawling, rory-saying nanna, katie-rolling, etc). isn?t it such a treat to watch them be able to do stuff?
how are all the babies who?ve just had the needles? hope all good. still haven?t got my head around when max will get her next lot.
hayley and katie, no real tumbles here. just a few knocks on the head when she?s on fours and head butts things like the side of her cot. or when she falls backwards from sitting position....onto the quilt which i?ve got on top of the carpet. hope that padding?s enough to prevent real injuries. but one thing i?ve noticed is that she?s started to cry when she does these things. she didn?t used to.
cassius2, just a note on getting a stroller in italy, might be good to do some research before you decide on that since you don?t know what?s available to you there. check with rellos. i had my sister buy stuff for me before i got there.
feeding and mess....got tray for the bumbo and have been feeding max in the bumbo. it?s been quite good and not too messy. only when she sneezes right after i put a spoonful of food in. have tried carrots and sweet potato and she liked them both...well, she ate them. but definitely likes pear.
md/anyone, what?s an ergo?
noni, sounds like you get quite a workout with your netball. doing 2 meals a day at the moment. still only rice cereal in the morning but been doing purees for lunch. sorry about the house. a better one is probably waiting for you.
hayley, nope, not originally from the u.s. but 5 out of 8 of us kids live there plus my mom for some part of the year (dad?s passed away years ago) so it?s sort of ?home-ish? to me. i took 3 cans of karicare with me when we went. also, they?re pretty relaxed with baby stuff at the airport (i.e. nappy rash cream was in max?s change mat bundle and not in a clear plastic bag like all creams and liquids are supposed to be). and flying out of the u.s., they actually allowed me through with a thermos of hot water. the TSA guy who saw it had to clear it with his supervisor first but that wasn?t a hassle. they should allow you through with food in jars as well. recommend to have unopened ones though. and know what the country you?re going to will allow (i.e. i know that the u.s. is pretty strict on importing products with meat so i would avoid that). don?t blame you for changing room type. i wouldn?t mind rooms close to each other (like across the hall) but DEFINITELY NOT adjoining rooms with connecting doors!!!
clothing......is everyone already out of their 000?s? max still fits into hers. i?ve got her in a mix of 000s and 00s. well, u.s. clothing is by months not 00s so i have her in 3-6 mos, 6 mos, and 9 mos clothes. :)
welcome leigh and ruby! you?ll enjoy this thread as all the ladies here are just great.
d?oh!!!! And duh! i didn?t connect that ?trillian? was sherie!!! was wondering what everyone was talking to sherie about when i haven?t seen any posts from her....or so i thought. anyway, glad to hear a?s fine now.
pregpan, n?s gorgeous....still. and that hair!!! and he?s such a little boy now! it?s so cute how we?ve (all) never met but have seen how our bub?s have grown.
teeth, since max popped the 2 bottom one, no new one has appeared. don?t see any signs of them coming anytime soon either.
shopping in the u.s. for winter stuff was so good. the little that i was able to shop that is. osh kosh had this sale of stuff for nothing over us$3.99. got a fair bit there. bought her some tights and caps and such for us$1.99. dh got her a pair of boots (like the yellow-ish ones that construction workers wear) for us$3.99. not for wear til she?s probably 1 ? though. so i bought some clothes for her to grow into. (i.e. next winter?s stuff). also got myself a pair of bass ankle length boots. original price was way over us$100+ but since i was buying at the outlet mall it was down to $70+ but since winter?s over and they were the last few pairs it was further 75%, or something crazy like that, off and i got it for under $30. nice soft leather. great buy. and my sister got max this ski jumper (her kids went skiing in canada) for $1.99!!!! don?t think max will ever be wearing that though since we don't ski.
belated happy birthday c?smumma
leanne, hope jordan?s better and glad to hear that Xavier is.
renee, hope your aunty gets better and tests will show that nothing to worry about.
hugs for your mum.
gracie, saw your handsome man. He?s just gorgeous!
cally, glad to hear sleep clinic worked for you.
ok...it?s taken me about 2 hours (or more) to do this post. think i?ve covered most if not all personals. sorry for any that i?ve missed. really can?t afford not to post for a day with this chatty group. *wink
-
Gracie, just googled the spotlight ad, he is gorgeous! I hear that Peter Jackson has a (multi-million dollar) holiday house around here, do you want me to put out some feelers and see if we can hook Lewis up a part in his next big flick lol?
Fianne, sounds like you got some good bargains in the US. With the crying when she falls over, do you race over and pick her up? DH tends to and it made W start crying but if I clap and talk to him he gets distracted and doesn't cry. I think that if you make a big deal over a little spill that it turns them into cry babies (obviously if he has hit hard and is upset I give him cuddles)
MD, I am with you on the bad memory. I thought it was from lack of sleep. DH is getting p!ssed at me because not only do I not remember conversations but I apparently say something different every time lol. It is getting me down a bit actually, I used to be quite intelligent and now I always feel vague and dimwitted. I often forget words or use a similar but incorrect replacement ie I say table instead of chair, fork instead of knife etc.
Ozstar, hope your tiredness is just some readjusting. Have you had your iron checked recently? You just had a baby, are BF and if you have AF back then you could be at risk for low iron. Or is there any chance of another bun in the oven lol?
Noni, I agree with your doctor about the babble. W has said mummm and mama quite a few times but it doesn't mean anything to him, just sounds. I am not counting anything as a first word until it seems that he actually knows the meaning (JaZmum, I would count H's Hi as a word if she is doing it when she waves lol)
Six school kids and a teacher drowned yesterday about 30minutes from here at an outdoors adventure centre. So sad.
