hmm, i was just wondering if there was any other treatments for severe morning sickness other than obdansatron and maxalon...
Ohh, pls for the list if you get time. My littly is saying mama for nearly everything, she started saying dada or dad for the obvious, but when he began working 60 hours a week, she didnt see him so much and she doesnt call him anymore kinda put a dent on him unfortunately, but now she's calling him "DE" ?...meh, she's talking quite a bit now which is great, i can't wait til she gets walking down pat..i just think she'll be clinging to my leg a lot more haha.
OMG, there's a poor fella in portugual who has a tumour on his face, it's massive, he can barely see, eat or breathe!!! poor thing just to be random...
Is that smart trike on with the handle so parents can push? and seat belt etc?
I found a ticker place! thanks for the help.
oh, anyone have any ideas for party games? I can't think of that many, just ones like pin the tail on the donkey, face painting, balloon games, ...?:S for kids raning 1-4...
Hi ladies, I'm behind as usual, sorry!! Hope you are all well.
Pregpan - Enjoy Bali, talk about jealous!
Cinta - Welcome!! I had terrible ms till 14/15 weeks when it finally dropped off. I remember thinking at the time I'd never have another child lol. My almost 11 mth old says mum, dad, bub & nan. I'm pretty sure a few words like that are the norm at this age.
Leemar - Cant believe Olivia is one in a few days!!
Kate - I've also been told the rubbing vicks into babies feet and have tried it a few times too. Didnt notice much of a difference but M was pretty sick so I dont know if the vicks on her chest even helped!
Rainy - WOO HOO I am SO jealous!!!
Hi Andie!
Trillian - Hope all your babies are better soon!
MD - HI!
Arte - Yes M's birth was horrible for me. That sounds really sad to say as well iykwim, but it was just so painful. I'd do it all over again though of course.
Cinta - We posted at the same time. Just out of curiosity, how did you come up with the name Chessa? Its so original and I love it!
So I picked M up from daycare this arvo, & right away I could tell something was up as she just had a blank look, when normally she smiles and flaps her arms about in excitement. Popped her in the car, started driving and heard a funny sound, looked in the mirror and the poor thing was power chucking all over the joint. I had to pull over, she was so upset. So she continued vomiting all the way home. She's in bed now, keep checking her & she is fine, but I guess she must have a tummy bug poor bub. As for the car seat, my god. We pulled it apart to wash, I put it on delicate cycle. Well I just went to hang it out and it hasnt cleaned it at all so its now on heavy cycle. Hope it doesnt wreck the shape or anything. Wonder how we are gonna get it back on the seat lol!!!
Poor thing! I hope she feels better soon! poor car seat i say...all that puke...hehe, that reminds me of when Chessa had the runs...and alot of them!! went in her nappy and next moment it was all up her back and through the car seat, it wasn't a pretty site...
From the name Francesca, i really like that name but couldn't be stuck with it all the time sorta thing....i dunno....just sorta fell upon Chessa....I like the Jenna Chessa sorta names i guess...
thank you for the compliment
I'm going to go to bed now, so i'll be back on tomoro. Have a good night sleep xx
Oh, and hopefully ur car seat cover does come back well, our's has several times, so maybe that's some hope ?
My goodness Chessa was a tiny little thing! She must have looked like a gorgeous little doll. Alister was more than twice that size LOL. I love how you picked her name - I've never heard it either, but I really like it too Maybe next time you wont be so sick with morning sickness? For the party games, face painting would be good for that age, as would pass the parcel. The littlies might struggle with pin the tail on the donkey. Her birthday is the day before Alister's on the 18th.
Oh no H! Poor little thing. I have come to know that ashen face very well over the years LOL. You have a safe n sound seat don't you? It will be fine to give it a good washing - I've done ours a few times and it always goes back on. They take ages to dry though is the trouble.
Alister had a few spews last night too - just too much snot and pleghm in his belly and it made him sick. He was fine afterwards though, but man it was ghastly to clean *YUCK*. He slept OK surprisingly. He got a low grade fever and I thought I would be up and down all night, but it wasn't near as bad as I expected.
And I am IN LOVE with my new washing machine - I don't have a single thing in the house that needs washing now. And by god it was great to be able to wash a QS sheet set all at once. It even goes PING LMAO.
Sherie- What sort of washing machine did you buy. I am looking for a new one.
MM- Poor M Hope she is ok.
Cinta- Love the ticker
MD- How are you going?
Jazmum, How are the birthday plans going?
Trill - I forgot to say yay for your new washing machine. I can't believe you lasted this long with your little old one, I would have been going crazy!
MM - poor little Maddie, hope she's feeling better and the car seat gets back on OK.
MD - would be interested in that list of first words. K says mum and dad, but doesn't seem to associate them with us IYKWIM? ie if DH comes home, I would have expected a big Dad! She definitely recognises words though.
Leemar - enjoy the party this weekend, I can't believe all our little babies are turning 1!
Rainy - way to go L!! Did he do a repeat last night and did you get to sleep better?
Arte - glad that W likes his trike. I don't think ours will have arrived for K's birthday so looks like I am going to have to buy her more presents!!
Cinta - your pregnancy didn't sound very good, hopefully the next one goes a lot easier.
Pregpan - glad the herbalist went well. Fingers crossed you have a quick TTC journey. Good luck with your talk with DH about managing things better.
Well we are good here. K has a shocking nappy rash at the moment, it's almost red raw. I've ordered some of my favourite cream and fingers crossed it arrives soon. I'm giving her a break from the cloth nappies today, see how that goes.
Trillian - Lol the 'Ashen face', thats a good way of describing it. Thats the first time I've really seen it but I guess it will reappear many times in the future!! Lucky you with your new washing machine! What brand is it? What a bargain you got. What a nice DH, I couldnt go out and spend that much without consulting 'the boss' first hehe. Oh yuck that sounds like a messy spew. If it helps I was also up most of the night moping up spew, changing pj's & sheets lol. Poor M didnt know what was going on. She seems happy enough today, but I'm scared to try her on food.
Cally - Ouch, hope the nappy rash clears up quickly. Are you giving her nappy free time? Its hard isnt it in this cooler weather. M also has a pretty bad nappy rash atm, what cream do you use? I've been using sudocream for a few days but it isnt really improving. We havent had that many nappy rashes so I'm not up to date on the creams available!
Cinta - Oh wow Chessa was tiny!! Maddie was also double her weight at birth lol. Thats so sweet!! Love how you chose her name, I like Francesca too.
Hi all, just a quick one as I'm off to the dietician's soon. Bit nervous as I've been better this fortnight but not sure I've been good enough kwim? At least i've weaned myself off my chocolate habit in that time LOL.
Cinta, re morning sickness. The Women & Children's Hospital in Adelaide did a couple of studies that found that acupuncture and ginger taken with B6 all improve the severity of morning sickness, no matter whether it's mild or major. The Blackmore's morning sickness tablets contain the correct amt of ginger and B6 (based on the dose found to be effective) but you have to take them 3 times a day and let it build up in your system. I felt quite good taking them but if I slipped and forgot for a few days I was really rotten so I'm a true believer. If I'd gotten to vomiting stage I would've gone with acupuncture once a week but luckily never that bad here.
Will post the word list later, might do it as a seperate thread.
Must be the day for chucking, I scored a bra-full of warm stinky vom last night after tea. Eew. Hope M and A are ok.
Trill, forgot to say how jealous I am of your new washing machine. Ours is on it's last legs and waaaay too small. Trying to hold out until after we move for a new one though as the travel seems to disagree with them. But counting my blessings when I think of (is it?) Clare, with her twin tub? LOL
ETA & TMI - MM I've found it's best to get the carseat cover a bit of a manual scrub in a bucket before putting it thru the wash - helps take care of the slimey chunky bits, kwim? (DD was a frequent car sicker in her younger days, I hear your pain) LOL
I brought a Simpson 9kg top loader. The one I did have was a Simpson, so there was no question as to which brand I wanted this time. Even though it is twice the size of the old one, it uses less water because of the water saving settings it has on it which is fantastic.
Marydean, I hope the dietician visit is pain free for you I feel your pain at weaning off the chocolate habit too.
Cally, Poor Katie and her bottom - I hope you get the cream soon, it's so uncomfortable for them.
H, Glad that Maddie is better today. Don't worry about the food, she wil let you know if she's hungry.
I forgot to say too how much I am also loving having a child with normal size feet that will fit any shoe I put on him. The other week I brought him a pair of brown riding boots - these I could never get for the older 3 at this age because their feet were all so wide. Plus I got him a pair of Clarks sandals from Myer the other day for $30 fown from $69! Good thing he isn't a girl I reckon LMAO.
Chessa never really had much nappy rash, very lucky. She's almost the most perfect baby Try going to the chemist, i've heard there's a really good cream that's about $16-18 i think...just ask for their opinion i guess.
With m/s, I've tried almost everything, ginger made it worse i found...the only thing that worked was the obdansatron, which the only way i can get it cheap is if i have cancer it's $90 for 10 tabs. I've heard there's a steroid that helps but I don't know if i need to go to an OB to get it prescribed...I had vomiting every day litterly up until she was born totally worth it tho
Go the new washing machine! I don't think i could handle a small one...My partner like to use a new towel every day grr....soooo much washing!!!
Chessa was a month premature, she stopped growing 2 months before she was due...no clue why. The docs warned me of the worst, that she could have down syndrome, may not make it when she's born or at the best that she would be in intensive care for at least 3 months, but we were extremely lucky, she's was A1 healthy! only spent a week in hospital.
hope u guys all have a good day! and all ur bubs feel better
Ah! so she was meant to be an October bub then? That must have been so very worrying and upsetting for you to hear all that. So glad that she came out just perfect in the end.
How scary Cinta, glad it all worked out fine though. I'd hate to hear something like that, you must be a strong woman!
MD - Thanks for your tip re washing the car seat. I've febreezed the actual car upholstery to death as well lol.
Well M seems perfectly back to normal. I even took her swimming this morning with no hassles. Maybe it was a 24 hr bug, or maybe something dodgy she ate at childcare? HOPE NOT!
I'm freaking out a bit here today. My friend is due to have her baby tomorrow, but I had such a vivid dream last night that she was in hospital in labour. So I've sent her a couple of text messages and called home a few times, with no response. Not like her at all. I wonder if she's having the bub YAY! Whats the bet she's just gone to the hospital for a check up with her ob lol.
OMG!!! How exciting!!! Ohhhh I love new borns, they're so innocent and sweet and little and gorgeous!!! Maybe try calling another friend that knows her? or try the hospital, they'll surely be able to tell u!
I'm glad your littly is feeling better. I don't have Chessa in childcare anymore, her bottles kept on going missing, then i kept on getting other people's bottles. so dodgy, and they also lost her dummy, which she was sooo attached to it wasn't funny...arrgghhh that was the worst weekend ever!! Hopefully it was just a little bug.
Leanne: our two girls are really close in age! Leila is the 2nd of september. we were also going to have her party this weekend, but ils cant make it until the following, which i suppose is fair enough! it's strange though as last year leila was born on father's day, so that day will always have an extra special feel about it.
Cinta: love the ticker! and that must have been a pretty scary time with the doctors giving you the horror stories. awesome that chessa showed them who was boss! LOL! wow only a week! that's impressive!
yeah i also couldnt stand the sight, taste smell of ginger when pg...weird.
MM: that H is feeling better. yeah maybe she just ate something she shouldnt have. i know some of the bubs at ours are really into eating the sand in the sand pit...gross.
MD: what no chocolate?? arrghhhhh. you are much stronger than me!! i can snarf half a packet of biccies without blinking these days.
ah yes, i am the twin-tub owner. (formerly known as the proud-twin-tub-owner...)
Sherie: ahhhh, i look upon your news of a new washing machine with a feeling nothing less than pure unadulterated ENVY. my poor wee twin tub (bless her cotton sock chomping ability) is just not coping with the constant cloth nappy washing. the draining pipe burst the other day spewing water all over the place, then the connector hose snapped off and we had a wild water party happening in the laundry...pity no one was invited tho'.
Cally: hope the nappy rash clears soon. we also stocked up on a whole range of creams for it. L got it bad a couple of times and we found good ol' curash to be the best. we tried benpanthen and a couple of more gentle ones, but when the going got tough (ie red and slightly weepy looking) we went the curash. we also took her off the cloth nappies until it had cleared. just cause the sposies soak so much faster...
Rainy: woot woo on L sleeping! what a champ! it must be really great to know that he can do it. when are booked to see the sleep people? (or are you booked? arrgh i cannae remember!)
AFM: well all's pretty well here. L slept through last night for the first time in ages. the last three weeks she has been waking for a feed somewhere between 1 and 4 am. and i was starting to get really desperate as she would then spend the day pretty grumpy. then we took her swimming and the night of the class she slept 10 hours, woke at 4 for a quick feed and slept another 3.5 (YAY!!). then last night slept 11.5!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahh, my girl is coming back! she was so much more happier today. i just hope that she doesnt get sick at kindy this week....
