Hi Girls.
Well its here MY BABY IS 1 TODAY....
All is now set for the big party today I have 28 adults and 13 kids....
Liv has opened her pressies (well her brothers opened her pressies for her) and she loves them all very much...
MD- the pony is a hit she can go backwards... the boys like it too...
Jazmum- Have a wonderful party today... and Cheers to you this arvo
Hello to everyone and will tell you all about it tomorrow....
-
Happy birthday Olivia!! I hope you have a great day today precious girl!
-
Happy birthday to our honorary Sept babies Olivia and Logan!! I hope you've all had a wonderful time!! LOL at Liv going backwards on the pony! Ah reminds me I need to pick up my laybys this week.
Well I've just bought myself a new lappy, was dying to get the flamingo pink but since we'll be a 1 lappy family I couldn't in all conscience as DH to get around with a pink one (omilord I can only imagine what the army boys would make of that). So I got plum purple instead - the pink you have when you're really having blue LOL. Anyway I'm a bit blegh today, should be more excited about it than I am really. Just sick of DD1 moping around bored, arguing with me everytime I tell/ask her to do something.
Trill I won't say congrats on the climbing! I think E might be a bit of a climber eventually but I'm sooo not encouraging it.
Re the grandparents, I stopped expecting anything a long time ago. That way, any time they do spend is a bonus. Most of our parents are still pretty busy people. That's just the way it is these days.
Just wondering how everyone's bubbas are coming along with blocks - anyone stacking yet? E only knocks them down. LOL. I've been trying to teach her to put her primo blocks in the box, but she gets excited and starts hoicking them all out again. *sigh* She really flings them about, one nearly hit me square in the face.
-
Leemar, Happy Birthday Olivia!!!!! Glad to hear she likes her presents, hope the party goes really well.
Trill, sorry to hear you have a climber lol. W likes to climb on the dog bed and can get up stairs but so far hasn't made any attempts to climb on the furniture and I am hoping it stays that way!
MD, we were thinking of getting W some blocks next time we are around civilisation. He likes to stack cups and tries to put his Duplo blocks together but they very rarely stick lol. He does put things in boxes if you ask him, the mums at music were very impressed when he politely returned his instrument to the box. Sorry that H is bored and grumpy, I am not looking forward to that! Yay for the new laptop, we are having issues atm where the comp turns itself off about 6 times a day. Hoping a new power box will solve it.
Anyone planning to get a wooden trolley for birthdays, have a look at the OO website - they had some for a reasonable price on there.
-
Happy Birthday Olivia!! Hope you are having a lovely party.
MD - We have some cups that DD is occasionally able to stack, but it is an easy form of stacking if you know what I mean. My dad cleaned up the blocks that we had when we were little kids so I'll see this week how she is with it. How much longer is DH away for?
Trill - no sign of climbing here, certainly not something I am looking forward to.
Gorgeous day here today. Did a heap of gardening this morning and we had a lovely family walk as well. Now everyone else is having a nap so I am having my BB time!
-
Cally - another 8 weeks + a half week he "forgot" to tell me about. (*stamps foot*). Seems silly but that half week has pushed me over the edge. Now I'm just completely over it and wondering how I'm going to muster the positivity needed for that time.
-
MD - It's not silly, you have a deadline that you are counting down to and changes to that are very frustrating. Don't worry, I would have gone off at DH if he'd 'forgotten' half a week, I'm annoyed when he gets home 5 minutes later than he said he would! Just think happy thoughts about being home at the end of the year.
What is everyone doing for food for bubs on their birthday? Are you letting them have some party food and if so what?
-
Cally we are having an afternoon tea event, involving pikelets, hot oven savories, cupcakes and of course a yellow ducky birthday cake (which will be a plain vanilla cake). E will probably woof down a whole piece of cake (excluding icing) and that'll do her I guess.
-
Hi ladies,
I have been very slack again and i am very sorry.
Just wanted to pop in and say hi and Happy Birthday to the gorgeous bubbas who have already had celebrated.
I have been supa dooper busy and its starting to catch up with me, I will try to get on this week and catch up properly. I hope you are all well.
Cheers For now

Hi everyone
Happy Birthday Olivia!!!!!
Leanne - i hope your day went well today. I haven't had a drink (none in the fridge:rolleyes: ) but i'm just about to sit down and have a cuppa, and a piece of cake.
Everything went very well today - all the kids had a ball, and the adults enjoyed themselves too. Both girls got way too many presents - all really nice. Hannah managed to stay awake all day and was having fun riding bikes and walking. (she loves the squeals of delight she receives every time she takes a few steps)
I've just finished wrapping Zoe's presents and decorating the room for her. I've added a special touch for hers - a 'Huggies' tunnel for her to crawl through to get to her presents.
Anyway, i''ll try and get on tomorrow night and read back through your posts.
-
happy birthday olivia and logan!! and happy birthday hannah too i missed that one sorry!!
jazmum - glad everything went so well!!! how fun crawling through a tunnel to get the pressies!!
md - wow a ducky cake.. i was going to make a butterfly but now i have my heart set on this ladybug lol it looks rediculously hard haha but i'll have my friend here to help me could be a few dodgy cakes in the process lol well be eating cake for weeks!! Asha dosnt have any blocks yet but when she plays with them anywhere else she just bangs them together or on the floor or table lol..
cally - with party food we are having a bbq apart from that i was going to make a cob loaf dip and cut up celery carrot cheese etc to dip in it, asha will probably have some of the bread and cheese with dip.. because its a garden theme i was going to make sunflowers with milk awroot biccies with yellow icing and then sultanas for the middle and celery for stalks.. as well as jelly cut out with cookie cutters, maybe butterflies or something.. i dont really want her to eat too much crap which is why i am not making too much really "bad for you" food just a bit here and there...
arte - i think dps mum wants to get Asha a wooden trolly for her bday thanks for the link :) wow W is such a clever little boy i cant believe all the things he is doing!!
hope everyone has been well.. i havnt been keeping up lately lol you guys just talk so much!! hehe have a great day :)
-
Hi Girls! just a quicky here (i think!) as leila is on the ramage...destructo baby strikes again!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!!!:cheer:
I hope that you had a great time!
Cally: oh no doubt Leila will eat EVERYTHING!! LOL! at this little mums group party she had a cupcake with all the trimmings. went down a treat....bad mummy, but the look on her face! priceless! :D
Also am going to make some lentil and vege patties for the bubbas and maybe some pancakes with ricotta and lemon...
the adults can get sick eating party pies and snacks...
MD: we have a serial thrower here too! she can put things in the bucket, but only so she can grab them out and peg them across the room or over her shoulder....no stacking. attempts, but gets angry at me when it doesnt pan out.
Big  to you. it would really suck knowing that he will be those extra days away. like cally said, you have a countdown happening and delays will not be tolerated! i'm sorry that it has you feeling bummed. i would too. I get narcky if DH is away an extra day...
Sherie: sorry but, te he he he!! ahh the joys of climbing. i went to a friends house last week who has stairs leading up to the first floor and L was scaling them before i could blink. i was having mini hearties the whole time! L also is starting to climb. she can pull herself up onto the bed and tries to climb up on the TV cabinet and couch. no luck so far on the last two, but going by her determination...
Arte: i think i might move over there! at least i may be able to find a house with a roof that costs less than $500K. i mean, i dont ask for much really LOL!
AFM: Leila's turn tomorrow....
-
Happy belated birthday to Liv and Logan!!
Eek, congrats and goodluck with the climbing...Chessa's trying to climb on the couches...but they're rocking recliners...hehe little bit more of a challenge for her. She's been climbing up stairs for a while, she's just trying to work out how to come down atm...oh dear :S
A ducky cake!! and Lady Bug!!!! that's soooo sweet! my fabulous lazy idea was to just make cup cakes and make a pyramid decorated with pink n white icing and pretty ribbon haha...i'm hopeless...I've now given the task to my cousin who's a great cake maker, she made Chessa's dedication cake...well iced it...IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! So i'm guessing a nice little suprise....I'm eager to see what she'll do.
Congrats on ur bubby packing stuff away, Chessa's started doing that aswell! It's fantastic hehe. The sooner the better on this one :)
Better shoot, time runs away too fast!!!

hi girls, sorry i've been so mia
big happy birthdays to our 'big' 'grown up' babies- Olivia, Logan and Hannah. congrats to you all for your first year, and thanks girls for sharing the journey with us :)
md- that half a week sounds like the straw that broke the camel's back to me. you poor thing. dp and i used to have a long distance relationship, so i know the heartache of being away from your loved one for long periods. it's a killer...thankfully he moved down to melbourne and has been whinging about how cold he is ever since ;)
clare- i thought you guys were moving to the gong? have i gotten confused somewhere? i'm blaming pg brain. yes i know what you mean about melb house prices. lately we had been talking about moving- but once we started actually looking we decided to stay right where we are thank you very much. instead we're just going to make some improvements on our house.
arte- aahhh sleeping. well, um i actually took a lot of your advice, in that he is always put to bed between 7-8pm, and once he is in there, he doesn't come out. even if i have to go in there and shove a boob in his mouth 3 times before midnight, i don't care. i think i was putting him to bed too early before -6.30ish, so now sometimes he doesn't go till 8pm. he always wears his sleeping bag, has a lullaby cd playing and hugs morris the blue sea turtle (dp named him). we leave a bar heater going in there so he's nice and warm. he still wakes but he does much longer stints now, 4-7 hours instead of 1-2. it's much better :)
i've just called up a doula but she was in a meeting so she said she'll call me back this arvo. already i like the sound of her better than the last one i called, who never called me back btw!!! so hopefully this one suits my needs and we can come to an arrangement.

Rainy, housing in the gong is just as exxy as it is everywhere else. Hehe about your DH whinging about how cold he is, all the better to snuggle up to his toasty PG lady, I reckon!! Soooo pleased to hear the sleeping is working better at your house, I bet you feel like a changed woman.
Cinta love the idea of the leaning tower of cupcakes, ah if only I could perfect my cupcakes. Mine always turn out wonky and there's always some where the batter has oozed out the top. You'll have to post a pic of the cake your cousin dees.
Noni, love your party food ideas, esp the sunflowers! That'll look great.
Clare, you could always move to Adel, plenty of affordable housing there still...:) See you there in the new year, how about it???
Thanks everyone for your words of support. Tried to talk to DH about it last night but he's so far out there in army land he's forgotten how to communicate like a normal human being and it just made me even sh*ttier. It happens every time, they switch off the more evolved part of themselves and start acting like apes with guns. (*sigh*) Sorry for the vent, ladies, but you know you all keep me sane. s to everyone.
-
Hi guys
Sorry for the quick one, S is still not 100%. Thanks for the advice from the other thread Sherie! Shes very clingy and sooky...poor thing.
Happy birthday to all the babies who have celebrated their first year and also to those who are going to soon (JIC I forget ;))
Better go..shes woken from her cat nap
BBL - hopefully
-
Happy Birthday to Logan! Our first birthday boy!
