Morning Ladies,
Alex was okay at daycare, no spews & he seemed okay when he got home except that all he wanted to eat was flavoured rice crackers & then watch dvd's in mummies bed.
MM: No its her 2nd. Thanks. .. on the teething. U just made me realise that I should check Jacks mouth as he's been having off nights. Got him back to sleep but now, I am awake! Hope M is okay. When Jack's "popped" through like that all I did was give him Brauer teething relief (its natural) & lots & lots of teething gel.
Trill:  hope your arm has settled down for you.
Leemar  hope you feel better soon.
 to everyone this morning.
Going to be a long morning, its shopping day & cos I only have Alex with me, he likes to walk (& go with jocks) so I might make it short.
Trill that sounds awful. Hope it's feeling better today although I suspect it will be sorer for a day or so then start feeling better.
MM - poor Maddie! I hope those nasty little sods pop out soon. DD1 didn't really have any problems with any of her teeth, but it's been a different story for MissyE . Fortunately not working on any at the moment but I can see I'll be dragging half of a pharmacy along with me on our road trip!
AFM - on a bit of a downer because I didn't get that job. Sounds like it was a long shot, I was competing against ppl who had direct experience in HR (I have none). Plus they told me they thought I lacked empathy. Hahaha. But they were very impressed with my research skills so lucky it's a research organisation hey. He said he'd pass my details over to the ppl who are about to advertise some more jobs. I think he will too.
Miss E has been entertaining us with her antics. Her latest thing is to RUN across the room waving whenever she hear's DH's motorcycle. She then stands at the door waving with both arms like a lunatic. DH could hardly ride yesterday he was laughing so hard.
are you serious md??? lack of empathy? are they insane???? that's like saying that i lack two legs!
What can I say? Maybe it was the disembodied nature of the phone interview that did it? I asked my sis last night if she thought I was a cold hard biatch and she said "only when you want to be" ROFL!!
yeah i guess it can be hard to 'get a feel' for someone over the phone.
have you got anything else on the horizon? or were you really really aiming for that particular one?
Apparently there are some more going to be adv'd in my org soon. Just hope it's not in the middle of moving-time. I've been in denial about the whole job-search end of things - kind of hoping I'd just walk into one without all the palaver of having to apply many times over. Not realistic but hey a girl can dream!
Pfft to them MD, clearly it is their loss. MD no empathy??? i've never even spoken to you IRL, but can't imagine how they came to that conclusion! Something will show up.
I thought normal temp range was up to 37.2. Pretty sure thats what the instructions on my thermometer say..... but i have been wrong many times before! :p
Speaking of temps, Lu had another one yesterday. Seriously, this girl has had a temp for almost 3 weeks. She seems ok, but just off her food. Is 38.2 within the teething temp raange you think? I am sick of going to the Drs. Hoping it is just teething.
MD, no empathy??? That is perhaps the wrongest (new word lol) that they could possibly be about you! BTW, wasn't bagging out Oprah, just some of the over the top reactions. Don't mind me though, I think I am just desensitised to the whole reunion thing. Possibly because I grew up not knowing my father and although I was mildly curious I never had any sense of 'missing'. When we met a couple of years ago I tolerated a quick hug but felt no more emotional than I would have if any middle aged dude walked into a room and started hugging me. I suspect I may be the one who lacks empathy lmao. So cute about E and the motorbike. W still can't run yet, he is almost there but mostly he settles for a speedy walk.
MM, poor Maddie! 4 at once is horrible. I hope they come through really quickly.
Leanne, hope you are feeling better :comfort:
Trill, Ouchie!! Are any of you kids lefties? I think W is, he has a definite preference for his left hand - dipping food, turning pages, putting peices on the ring stacker or shape sorter etc. Never thought I would get a southpaw.
Rainy, congrats on the bed. We were thinking of a trundler bed but cheaped out a bit. How do you think L will go in the big bed? What is your plan for getting him in there?
Ange, W goes off his food a bit when he teething (not that he eats much anyway). I don't know what a normal teething temp is. I don't use a thermometer. If he is actually sick he gets hot red fever cheeks. If his head feels warm and he is grumpy I give him panadol.
The last couple of nights have been very good on the sleep front - a couple of two wake up nights and last night he only woke once. He did a patch of good nights last week too, but as soon as any tooth starts moving he goes back to 4-6 wake ups. I wish all the darn molars would just come at once, it is going to be frustrating if they all take a month to get all the way through like the first one.
Hi Girls,
Ange- I give panadol for anything over 37 when it hits 38 I give nurafin as well and put a cold cloth over there body to cool them down. Xavier was the worst for teething he would always get temps really bad too. Hope things get better today.
MD- Sorry your didnt get the job. :comfort:
Sherie- Hope your Arm is better today
Andie- Have fun shopping
Bit disppointed today as when I dropped the kids of at daycare I noticed in Livi's room they had new photos up of all the kids except Livi and then I looked around the room at all the paintings and there was non that Livi did. I just thought that even though she only goes 2 days a week that they would at least put some of her stuff up. Geeez I pay full price for them to go just sort of expected to see some stuff up of hers... Sorry does that sound like to much to expect am I overreacting?
Have a great day to all
Hello to everyone and have a great day
Hi ladies, just a quick one, I need to get packing, we're off camping for the weekend - well cabining really (all our friends are camping but Joel and I are not into the rough it style as we booked a 2bd ensuite cabin at the same park) - they may laugh at us now but we'll be cosy warm all weekend as it's pouring rain here at the moment :lol::lol::lol:
Hamish is teething also but still no joy. I got some Hylands Teething Tablets yesterady and they seem to be given him better relief than bonjela atm - fingers crossed. He giggles when they dissolve on his tongue.
His getting better with walking but still prefers to crawl 50% of the time. Is he being lazy or are your bubbas still crawling as well ???
Oh well, the car isn't going to pack itself - Joel is at work, I need to pick him up on the way.......
NO IRRITABLE UTURUS BH FOR TWO DAYS NOW :dance::dance::dance: Fingers crossed it stays that way over the wekend too.
Hope you all have a great time and chat next week
luv
Cindy xx
hi girls
jg- have fun cambining. lewis still crawls about 70%, walks 30%. just depends how fast he wants to get somewhere really. he's still not very steady.
arte- i have no idea how we're going to get him in the big bed...
he doesn't bfeed to sleep anymore, so i guess that's the first step. i thought maybe he could start the night in his bed, and then when he wakes he could come in with me for a while? also am keen to do daysleeps in his bed....all very gradual, but we'll get there eventually.
leanne- poor liv. i think that's very unfair..
ange- hows lu now? can you actually see any points sticking through? i can't.
thanks for getting me a highchair. did you survive ikea ok? my friend's dh sat down on the stairs there once and cried.
hayley- hows maddie today?
well i'm off to mothers group today. should be fun i think. lewis is so lovely and gentle playing with all the girls, it's so cute, and last week he kissed two of them on the lips....but then he grabbed one of them's head and pushed it into his crotch :o
Is Lewis modeling behavior he has witnessed Raino?! lmoa. No probs on high chair, survived ok. Got a bit of stuff, nothing too exciting. No teeth through yet, but dribbling for Africa so i ams sure they are coming......
Arte- i never used to have a thermometer, then one day when she was a bit hot, looked ok, a little sooky but nothing major, i took her to Drs her temp was 39.9, so decieded i was crap at telling if she was hot or not and got a digital ear one. lol
JG- Have a lovely weekend, wish i was going camping. DH working. Will prob find a market or two to crash!
Leanne- Did you say anything? I would mention it to them. Perhaps they took the photos or did the artwork on a day she wasn't there, but i am sure they wouldn't mind if you bought in a piccy of her to put up. Poor Liv, she must feel a bit left out.
Ange- I have a digital ear themometer too and think they are great.
JG- Have a great weekend camping
Ok re Livi I feel sad for her and dont understand why they have nothing of hers. Guess I will ask them today.
Rainy - how did you get him to stop BF to sleep????? I think my plan is about the same as yours, day sleeps and I will prob go into his bed after he wakes. How is his sleeping in general now? OMG at putting girls faces in his crotch! I didn't think we had to worry about that sort of thing for years yet!
Ange, I have a digital ear one, before W was born everyone was telling us you NEEDED one to tell if they were o.k. However, I used it a couple of times when he was on the cusp of unwell and I could never get two readings the same so sometimes he had a fever and then 30 seconds later he didn't lol. Anyhows, he has never been sick enough to go to the doctors (as far as I know :o). Glad you survived Ikea. We put in a new kitchen while I was about 8 months preg and walking around IKEA always gave me a sugar low so I always raided the counter with the samples of weird but yum swedish sweets.
Leanne, bummer! My playcenter does the same thing, he has been going since march and they just put up the first pic of him on the wall.
JG, have a good trip, hope the BH's stay away.
hey everyone,
sorry imn not keeping up at all lately!! again haha.. Ashas at my mums today so im trying to catch up on some cleaning.. the house is sooo bad, i just finished off the bathroom and i feel so much better it was sooo bad!! but theres heaps more to do ive just been so tired ive been laying around all day doing nothing except what is absolutely necessary lol oopsy!! still havnt been to the dr yet or really told many people lol but i spose its all early days hehe...
arte - i found that with the ear and forehead thermometer we had too i only use the under the arm one really now.. its a pain but it seems the most correct..
leanne - deffinately ask some kids only go one day a week 2 days is plenty for her to have atleast something on the wall!! thats not a good enoough effort if u ask me.. does livi like craft? some kids are really uninterested in craft which makes it hard to have a painting up for them but the photo theres no reason they shouldnt have taken some of her pics are taken every day usually in childcare centres so they surely have some of her somwhere!!
falhuni - lol dribbling for africa!! asha seems to never stop dribbling ever since she started teething its sooo annoying lol!! she was in bibs for months just so she didnt soak her clothes!!
rain - hahahahahahaha sorry rainy have to laugh at that where did he learn that?? lol
jg - great news the pains have gone away fingers crossed they stay away!! have a great trip hope u get a good laugh at all the people with leaking tents while your enjoying ur cabin!!!
md - sorry to hear about the job! i agree with everyone else on the empathy comment.. maybe theyve missunderstood the meaning of empathy? haha thats all i can think of!!
anyway ladies i am off for a rest before i have to finish the rest of this cleaning.. have a great day everyone
Just a quickie with regards to the ear themometer. If i push the thermometer right in the ear like th instructions say i get a consistent reading. In the beginning i found i was being too gentle and not putting it in the ear far enough and readings were all over the shop.
Trill - i forgot to ask, how's the arm today? Did she put a pressure bandage on it for you? would have helped the bruising a little. How are you feeling on the meds? Still going ok?
I am so mad, and i don't get mad often! A real estate lady just showed up, the house we live in we don't pay rent for as it is part of the leased farm, but the contract is organised between the company we work for and the estate agent. Anyway i said i had no idea she was coming, and she said 'oh we sent you a letter 10 days ago" i asked who she sent a letter to as i didn't get it and then explained how the house is leased by the company not me. I said as i had no idea she was coming, the place was a mess and i would rather she came back. She basically said, oh i'm just doing a bit of a report on the structure as there is a new boss, pushed past me and walked in?! WTF. I am no shrinking violet, but this woman was not taking no for an answer. My house looks like some kind of war zone, since Lu has been sick i have pretty much done nothing! i was mortified. Stupid biartch. i need chocolate i think. *heads off to raid pantry*
JG: Depends with jack, if he falls over mid walk, & really wants to make a made dash, then he will crawl. Oh, those Hylands Teething Tabs are fab. but the chemists down here have to order them in specifically.
Leemar:  no, of course not. she goes & you pay, you have every right to expect Livi's stuff & pic put up
Fal: woolies has the big blocks, 2 for $6
I have the ear thermomatoer too & I find it work if you aren't gentle (tho I had a week of experience using them when Alex was admitted at 9 mths). I was always advised that if the temp is above 38 for 24hours then to seek medical advice but never to fight a temp as its the bodys natural response to a virus.
Had a bit of a scare this morning, Found a massive green tick on my doggy (had to get Tracey to get it out whilst I held her fur back, she a maltese ****zu) so it means checking her & the kids everytime the go outside & b4 bed. So far she seems okay.
Shopping was generally fun .. Alex was fairly good. Used the toilet everytime I took him, no accidents but had trouble walking with me at times. Esp when we passed the motorbike store. OMG he was in the shop climbing on all the kids dirtbike, no fear, no qualms. Did stop him when it came to the road bikes on the footpath thou.
Rain is pouring down :D & boys are asleep. So ideal (but if only i cld hear the tv ... ) ...
Rainy (by the way, its raining here, sorry :) ), hope you have fun a parents group today & L was good.
Ange - OMG I am The Biggest Market Fan in the world. Pity my Vic days are over, I'm sure we would've made a mean market team! LOL PMSL at your crappy hand thermometer!
JG - YAY for no BH pains!! woohoo. Enjoy your cabinning. That's my preferred mode of camping too.
Andie do you get the paralysis ticks or the regular variety? My poor Beags was covered head to toe in them when she first came and lived with us (she was longgrassing it in Darwin LOL). Lucky they're not the paralysis ones but they can get infected if they're on there for too long. I'm a
SuperTickPickerOffer LOL. You can get a flea treatment that also works for ticks from the vets, might be worth it if you're having a few...
Arte, I'm about TEN years overdue for an Ikea encounter. My sis has just bought her first ever house so we've made a pact to have a stomp together soon after I get to Ade.. I can't wait!!
Rainy, L is a funny boy, I bet he had all the mums in stitches. You'll be surprised how quickly he'll go to just walking. E surprised me the other day. All I could hear was thump thump thump giggle giggle. E was crawling just for the heck of it and thought it was HILARIOUS.
Leanne I don't think you're overreacting. So she might not have been there the day they did the photos but they might've put some paintings up! I'd mention it to the carers.
MD: normally I've fuond the hardback one's (picked one out of me one nite & didn't even know what it was) but have never seen the green ones b4. Just found out the one Wispa had was one that can paralyse.
Hi girls, I've had a massive day! We went shopping today and it was crazy. For starters it took us 45 minutes to find a freaking parking spot. There are so many crazy road ragers in the carpark!! Anyway Myer were having a sale, so I got M a couple of sprout dresses and also went to Betts Kids and got her a decent pair of shoes, some clarks sandles. I've found the kmart first steps or whatever they are just dont cut it anymore, she slips and slides all over the joint. So I decided it was time for some decent walkers. I feel naughty as I havent spent up at the shops lately lol.
I've rediscovered brauers teething remedy. So I stocked up on it today. It seems to do the trick, better than panadol. The poor thing I cant believe how many are coming through at once, no wonder her nose is like a tap.
Leanne - Yes I've had the same problem with daycare and M, seeing as she is only there 2 days a week. Its so sad isnt it!!! Are you going to say anything? I'm too chicken.
Rainy - Oh my gosh typical male hey?!
Falguni - Oh I would have been mortified too. Its hard to keep the place looking decent when the little one is sick isnt it. Even harded if you arent 100% yourself. Hang on its even hard to keep the place clean now that they are on the loose! I am forever picking up after M.
MD - YOU, a MOTHER, no empathy!!!???? What the hell are they on about? Did that offend you at all, because I would be so upset for someone to say that to me. If it makes a difference, from reading your posts over the past year I dont think you are lacking in empathy at all.
Noni - Hope you have a nice clean house now. It must be great having a 'day off', no doubt your mum loves it too. I think its so good for grandchildren to spend a day with their grandparents, wish mine were around so we could do it too!!
JG - I find the Hylands teething tablets to be good too. Its so good when the natural stuff works better than panadol etc. I cringe at the amount of times I've given M panadol over the past few days, I just dont want her to be in pain.
Arte - I too have given up on good sleep. M hasnt slept through the night for ages now. Luckily she usually isnt up more than once or twice, except when teething. It sucks when you are on a flow then something like teething breaks it.
I must go, M is munching away on strawberries (I wonder if theres such a thing as too many strawberries for bubs because I give them to her all the time, she loves them lol) and apparently DP wants to go to the local show tonight to go on rides, what a kid!
hi ladies
hayley- sounds like a successful shopping day to me. sprout have some really good stuff don't they?
ange- i hate when people turn up at my house unannounced. makes me so mad. i'm surprised you didn't tell her where to go!
arte- well, i basically just stopped offering him the boob, particularly in the middle of the night, but he sort of just stopped it by himself too iykwim? i'll sometimes still bfeed him to sleep for his morning sleep, just cos it's quick and easy, but he doesn't aways want it now and definitely doesn't 'need' it like he used to. nowadays he likes a bit of a spoon, a cuddle or a back rub and he drifts straight off. in the middle of the night he usually just needs a big cuddle, it's much easier.
i think the main thing was that i stopped stressing and obsessing over it, and it just kind of happened by itself iykwim?
Hey girls!
long time no write...for me anyway...man i missed so much today! i tried to write more last night but was having trouble with the site. is this just me or is it the BB server?
ange: i reckon what the real estate lady did was pretty illegal. she has no right to trespass. in fact, i am horrified at her behaviour, and if you have the time i would complain to the rental tenancies authority. we once had a nosy landlord and ended up having to change the locks and institute a rule whereby he couldnt come within the fence of the house. pretty dramatic but stopped him from helping himself to our house.
MM: ooh i love sprout too! cute dresses and tops i reckon. i too need to invest in a good pair of shoes. friends bought her gorgeous chook leaf ones, but she is still in 6-9 month size shoes, so the 12 month ones she has dont fit :(
MD: didnt you tell them how many green square things you have on BB??????????? LOL!
we too have a runner. usually when she has stolen something naughty too.
Rainy: i guess Lu and Leila are two birds of a feather. L goes for the crotch of boys too. usually when they are rudie nudie in the backyard. i just think she finds them hilarious
andie: ooh ticks are scary. we lived in FNQ and they were baaad up there. i recommend a bit of 'revolution' flea treatment as it does the ticks as well.
Leanne: yeah it was the same with L at kindy. she is only 2 days a week and i guess on the days she was in, the camera wasnt LOL! now though there is quite a bit of stuff (ie photos). i would drop some gentle hints (ie. oh arent the photos lovely....where are you Livi?...he he he).
oopps have to cut this short. L is crying. she has been waking alot the last few days. i guess it is the last of the cold, or teeth (i think both)...so have solidarity with the other mummas going through teething ATM. also she has been crying in her sleep alot lately WTF is that?? does anyone elses bubs do this?
best dash.
sherie: hope all is good with arm....
Clare - M has been crying in her sleep for the past few days, think its the teeth. Its horrible to hear isnt it!
Rainy - Sprout have some gorgeous things they really do. This bub is a boy isnt it? Bad memory  Far out there are some gorgeous boy clothes. I havent been shopping for awhile now, I've been pretty good. We are saving as much as we possibly can at the moment so I felt a bit guilty after todays spend up even though it wasnt a huge amount lol.
I just got a call from my parents in Tasmania, they are freezing cold and want to come home as they are missing maddie "something chronic" awww.
Clare L cries in his sleep too! I love when he giggles in his sleep :)
MM are they on holidays? How long have they been in Tas for?
Andie hope the ticks keep at bay! Glad they're not the paralysis ones.
How does everyones little ones go at daycare? L is starting in Feb and I'm a little concerned how he's going to settle in... we had a terrible night last night (more teeth here too) as soon as 5am came he refused to go back to sleep..
Hi to everyone I missed.
morning everyone
lewis has changed his wake up time from 8am to 7am now and i don't like it! so now we're watching the wiggles and having a dance
hayley- thats so cute they miss maddie awww. yes new baby is a boy which is great for clothes. i can't afford anymore though cos i went a little crazy for them both at pumpkin patch the other day.
clare- yeah not too sure about the crotch thing lol! well one of the girs got him back yesterday. she came in and tackled him to the ground and sat on his face. after we rescued him, she just wouldn't leave him alone all day. she is completely in love with him! we were trying to explain to her about playing hard to get!
well i'm going to meet up with a pg friend at 9.30 for coffee. i always find it hard to work out a suitable time to meet people to fit in with his sleeps iykwim? do you guys have that issue? she wanted to meet at 10.30 but i said 9.30, but now since he woke up early ii think he'll be a nightmare at 9.30 gggrrr
Rainy, I wish W would stop being so dependent on the BF. I don't see him making any attempt at self weaning any time soon. Great to hear L's sleep has improved though. Bummer about the early wake ups, W used to sleep until 8 but now it is usually 6.30am. Hope he is good for your morning tea.
Ange, there must be someone you can complain to about the estate agent? What a cow pushing past like that. My housing manager is a jerk, he acts like he is doing us a favour letting us live here. Just after we moved in I came home to find the back door wide open and a sparky inside because the housing manager had let him in.
Clare, no crying in his sleep here, but he has started sleep walking. When he wakes up at night and I am not in the bed he gets up and stumbles down the hallway to find me but I think he is still asleep because he is very wobbley and stares vacantly right through me and as soon as I pick him up he is asleep on my shoulder.
Well, today W started saying a new word. We went swimming and I asked him to sit on the change table while I got dressed and he was grizzly and looked at me and said 'NO' lol. He is also trying to jump but can't quite make it so he ends up just stomping his feet on the ground with a huge smile on his face because he thinks he is doing it.
Rainy its hard isn't it! L never sleeps at the same time everyday. Depends on what time he wakes up and what he slept like the night before so its hard to guess times! Hope he wasn't too cranky while you were out!
I'm so cranky with my neighbours! They fought until god knows what time last night! They moved in about 3 months ago and they've fought ever single day since.. She's 7 months preg and they throw things at one another hit each other and carry on ridiculously every other word that comes out of her mouth is F or C (even to the poor puppies they just got!) so anyway a couple of weeks ago I had enough and she was screaming for him to stop hitting her and to leave her alone so after a couple of hours of hearing them go on at one another I called the police to deal with them! They've been quiet since except the past 4 days or so... did that even make sense? Sorry it was all over the place..
Does anyone know where I can get an elf suit for L in a size 0 or 1? I went to the Warehouse today because I saw one in the cataloge but they're for older kids. I really want L's santa photo this year in an elf suit :)
One last thing then I'll go hehe what do you make your little one for dinner? L ate pasta about a week ago but then 2 nights ago refused to eat it so I'm back to alternating between boring mashed potato and mixed vegies! Any ideas?
Just a quicky from me. Arm is much better. The bruise kept coming out for hours and it ended up being really big and black but the soreness went away after a while so it looks a heck of a lot worse than it really is. It's already starting to go yellow around the edges, so it's on the mend. I had to have another BT done yesterday cause the Pathology lady didn't realise there were two parts to one of the tests, so I had to go back and I said to her, Umm I think you will need to use the other arm and when she saw the bruise she felt so bad about it. I told her it was OK though but she kept apologising the poor thing, it wasn't her fault. So I have a slightly less bad bruise on the other arm cause she got them to send over a super fine gauge needle to redo the test. The meds are going great - I already have patches of normal skin on my back again which i am super happy about. For those that dont know much about psoriasis, in a normal person you re-grow a new layer of skin around once a month, for people with psoriasis, it regrows every 3 days on the affected areas. So the purpose of the meds is to attack it via the immune system, so the drugs slow down the cell growth of the skin production - the same way chemo is used to stop the tumour cells from growing.
Arte, you asked about handed-ness? None of the kids are left handed at all. Apparently only 9% of the population is left handed.
Nella, I will make mac cheese for Alister's dinner when we are eating something he can't have/wouldn't eat, but the rest of the time he eats what we eat. he actually prefers to eat the same as us or otherwise he throws a tanty and wont eat his dinner, so the nights he is having something different, I have to give it to him earlier.
Nella, hun, if you think any of the arguments might be escalating to violence EVER, call the police. Everytime. You might save a life. Right now, she's pregnant and might feel like she doesn't have any choices, but each time the police come it's an opportunity for her to make a break for it. To get the hell out of there once and for all. It's awful for you and none of us like to live near to that sort of stuff but statistics say it's probably happening in houses on all our streets (except you Trill haha I think you have a private road don't you?).
Nella, try mixing some other things like savoury mince, soup, pasta sauce into some of the mixed or blended veggies that you normally give, to start getting L used to some different flavours/textures. And keep giving the same things over and over, even if they refuse them 10 or more times, eventually they will pick it up and eat it.
Arte - LOL at W saying "no"! We're all going to be hearing that soon.
Rainy, we've got E pretty much having one day sleep now, we go out and do things in the morning, then have a biiiiig morning tea, then she has a sleep. If I linger too long and she's tired, then she may fall asleep in the pram or car. If the morning sleep is too short, then she has another in the later afternoon (like today, we were out at the shops for sleep #1 so she's gone down again). We went thru a patch when she was getting up at 5 or 6 am, I would feed her then pop her back into bed like it was still nighttime and she'd sleep a bit longer.
ETA - glad your arm is feeling better Trill. And most pleased that you're getting such good results from your meds! xx
Evening Ladies
Some good news, puppy is doing okay, she was out barking this morning but really hasn't eaten, tho I only gave her dry biscuits & not tin food.
Will try some revolution. Thanks :)
I am quite glad actually that Wispa is okay. I think it wld have been hard on Jack if she wasn't. Quite often I hear a giggle & find Jack & Wispa playing around in the bedrooms. They are quite close.
On the other hand, my Ex-SIL gave birth last nite & yes, all is well. 9lb 7oz via the birth canal. She very tired & has some stitches but all is good, except she still has very low blood pressure.
Jack was too sick to go swimming today but I took Alex still.
We had a massive storm last nite & lost power. Alex & I were watching a dvd in bed at the time & I said "crap", so Alex then says "crap". Its very quite cute.
Nella: I agree with calling the police. I have the same problem with the boys eating vegies but I was told to keep giving it to them & eventually they will eat them.
Jack loves daycare. He went from one day a week to 3 days just last week, tho he has been so used to lots of diff people since day 1 & Alex is there (tho I wldn't mind seper8n if had the chance). & the day care mums are gr8 too.
Elf suits: try some other discount shops. I have seen them in choice a few years back.
Talking about daycare: Alex & I was sitting at macca's when I hear "hi alex". It was one of his monday's friends. Then Harrison asked where jack was & then kept talking. He wasn't annoying. Then his mum realised he was yabbering away only when she was ready to leave & was like "don't annoy people" & I was like no, he's fine, they all go to Sue on a monday. (hehe)
Trill: glad to hear your arm is feeling better.
Arte: How cute, with W on the "no".
Rainy: hope your MT went well
Cassius: Jack cries in his sleep l8ly. I am postive he is teething. A good dose of teething gel settles him right down.
Hayley: I am jealous! I would love to have a shopping spree like that :) tho I did buy Alex a new tshirt the other day. Tis was a Roary the Racecar one & they only had one size 3 (& it was only $10) so I grabbed it for him. It has 5 of the cars on it & u ask him any name & he point to it. But now that I think of it, Alex does need size 4 & 5 clothes! hmm,
Andie - Haha dont worry my shopping spree was short lived. It was back to the op shop today!! We are just trying to be very careful with our money lately, seeing as we have a few big expenses coming up. Not to mention we want another child late next year. Had to laugh at Alex saying crap. How do you go on your own during a blackout? I would freak out big time.
MD - Yep we do the wake up at anywhere between 4 and 6, have a feed, and back to bed as well. If its a decent hour (6ish) I have tried to keep her up but she is just a grumpy tired girl. Its amazing what an extra hour or two can do!
Nella - I've done the mixing of pasta sauce through veges as well as suggested by MD, its a hit. With pasta, I find now M wants to feed it to herself. I buy the big kids shapes in the pasta section and cook them up, mix a bit of sauce through, and she just helps herself as finger food. The other night I even mixed just mashed potato & pumpkin through pasta shapes and she loved them. Other meal ideas: tuna patties, risotto, canelloni, lasagne, fish fillets. I also give M alot of finger food steamed veges, like pumpkin pieces, potato etc. I must admit lately I have been lacking on ideas for her and she has been having alot of the same foods. She usually has what we have, but I've been a bit slack lately and just been doing tacos and easy bang it together meals lol. We need pregpan to come in and post some of her fabo meal ideas, she is a wizz in the kitchen. Yes my parents are on holidays, they bought a camper van thingo and have just been driving around randomly. So they got on a boat and ended up in Tassie lol. As for daycare, M has never had a problem settling in (touch wood) and she just loves it. I'm sure L will be fine, might take some time but he will love it eventually.
Trillian - Poor you all these blood tests, just as bad as being up the duff! ;)
Arte - Aww sleep walking how gorgeous, maybe not so much for you in the middle of the night though.
Rainy - Yep I always have the issue of going out and working around M's sleep. She wont ever sleep in her pram either which is a pain. We are down to one sleep a day and its usually between 12 and 2 so I just kind of work around that.
Bit worried about M tonight. Her teeth have been giving her trouble all day, and just after her bath a whole heap of gunky stuff came out of her ear. I really hope it isnt an ear infection!? Just as well I made an appt during the week for next Wed to see the doc before we go to Melb, I wanted to get her ears checked. However if it is an infection I am worried about having to wait that long to see someone about it, poor thing. I guess I will keep an eye on her tomorrow and if need be I can run down to the children's hospital and see what they say.
hi girls
i'm so ****ed off with df right now. today was supposed to be a special 'treat' belated birthday day today for me. df was going to wake up when lewis woke up (at about 6.30) and come out here and do all the morning stuff so that i could have a sleep in. i don't mean to whinge cos i know that some of you in here have got situations a lot tougher than mine, but i have never had a sleep in, not even ONCE since lewis has been born. i'm just so tired with this pg now and i've been going to bed at 9pm everynight, but it makes no difference cos lewis always wakes up at least twice during the night...i'm so tired and df promised me this morning he would handle everything so that i could stay in bed until 8....well, i'm out here watching cartoons with lewis while df is fast asleep in bed...he's so friggin selfish. last saturday he stayed in bed until 2pm. i'm sick of him!!!
anyway, on a good note, i'm heading out to the day spa at 9am with my friend and df is going to look after lewis. he's already started whinging at me about what time i'm going to be home as he has to have a burn-off today WTF!!! this is the first time i've ever done this, and he's already on my case about it before i've even left....he's really doing my head in. i don't know how he'll go putting lewis down for his morning sleep, but i suppose he has to learn. sorry about the vent, i'm just feeling like a very unsupported parent right now.
hayley- that ear stuff doesn't sound too good at all. can you take her to the dr tomorrow? what have you got planned for when you're in melb? the weather here is absolutely crap atm so bring some warm clothes.
andie- what is your x-sil's baby named?
md- lewis is just not ready for one sleep yet. i wish he would, i think it would make life a lot easier.
sherie- that bruise sounds nasty, you poor thing
nella- i'll keep my eye out for elf suits. have you tried ebay?
arte- there was defintely a direct correlation between giving L more cows milk and the bfs decreasing, if that makes sense? he also started sleeping much better once he started having more cows milk. he's really taken to the cows milk. which surprised me, cos he was soooo dependant on bf, but now he couldn't really care less.
have a nice day girls
Rainy  sounds like you DF could use a kick up the bum. He sounds a bit like mine (who could also use a kick up the bum most days). Go and enjoy yourself at the Spa, dont rush home after either. Go and have coffee and cake or something after.
Have had a busy weekend so will be bbl for more girls.
MM was it wax coming out of her ear or something else? If it was something else I'd take her to the drs straight away. Missy E is a chunky ear wax queen, I spend half my life picking chunks out of there LOL (I don't dig for them, just pick them out once they're on their way out). If you think she might have an infection ring your drs and INSIST she needs to be seen today. Often the receptionist will say they're full but if its your regular dr you can ask to be squeezed in and explain why. If they still refuse ask to speak to the dr on the phone and they will usually fit you in. A 1 yo with an extruding ear infection is a serious enough thing for them to see her today. xxx
Rainy, I have found in the past that a glass of icey cold water is a good way to wake a man up who shouldn't be sleeping. Tip it anywhere on his body, that'll do the trick. ;) Enjoy your spa experience!!
Andie, glad all went well with your SIL. Hope she makes a good recovery. What did she have and what did they name him/her? Congrats, aunty!!
Rainy, I can't believe he slept in until 2pm! That is crazy. I would let L in the room to 'accidently' wake him if he wasn't up at a reasonable hour. My DH is really good, he often lets me stay in bed in the weekends, although it is usually only for 20 minutes before W comes looking for me lol. Hope you enjoy your spa day and that L goes for his sleep with DF. I wish W would take to cows milk like that.
G, you are going to have to say something to him about it (something along the lines of 'harden the F up' should suffice ;) ) because by golly if anyone has earnt a sleep in it's you. Once you have two little ones he is going to have to pull his weight a lot more than he is now.
Marydean, LOL at you getting the ear wax out - you sound like me only the girls (who have super waxy ears) wouldn't let me near them to clean it out so now I have introduced them to the wonderful world of ear syringing and they can't get enough of it LMAO.
H, how did M go last night? It could have just been a big buid up of earwax and not a sign of anything nasty. The nerves in your jaw often go right up to your ear and can give a bit of deferring pain up there. So it could just be the teething kwim?
Andie, do you keep contact with your xSIL? Bubba was certainly a good size.
Oh, about the sleeping interferring with plans, it's never really stopped me from doing things, but I have always been blessed with children who will either sleep while we are out or are not fazed to go without the sleep and they make up for it when we get home.
I am off for my own shopping spree tomorrow LOL. Mum and I are going Christmas shopping. Plus I have my follow up dermo appt and she will mind Alister and Paige while I"m in there.
I have a devil's food cake in the oven ATM and I am a bit scared it isn't going to cook properly - it is sooo runny (it has 2 cups of milk and a cup of water, plus the eggs) but my neighbour who gave me the recipe swears it turns out all right but I'm not convinced yet LOL.
Trill - did the cake work out OK? I should do some more baking but it's so hard to close off our kitchen from K.
Nella - K took about 3-4 weeks to settle in to childcare (she was crying when we left, but no more than 5 minutes). She came down with a shocking cold after a couple of days that turned into a chest infection. Once that was cleared up she was right. She's been going for 7 weeks now and when we drop her off she points at the door and waves 'See ya mummy!'. K tends to have what we are having most nights, but if it something a bit spicy then I have a stash of tuna mornays and spag bols in the freezer ready for her. She definitely prefers what we are having though.
MM - How was M last night? Have any of those teeth popped through? Hope it was just wax in her ear and nothing more serious.
Rainy - hope you're enjoying your spa day, lucky thing!
Leanne - did you ask about the photos of Livi at care?
Well yesterday DH dropped K off at MIL while I was doing some shopping and he was at cricket. She had her lunch, then pointed at the portacot (which she's only slept in 3 times before) so they got the sleeping bag out and she sat down on it and just looked at them like 'come on, do it up, I need to sleep'. Then she went down without a murmur for 1.5 hours! Such a clever little thing. Think she has a sore throat at the moment though (as DH and I both do) and she has a bad cough. Poor thing.
Yep, the cake turned out just fine LOL - although it did take a bit longer to cook. I guess when she's ready for a sleep she's ready LOL. I hope she is well again soon.
Hi Girls.
Sorry for the quick one today but I am running late.
Re Livi school- Yep I said something to the teacher and she said that Livi is always sleeping at the the time they do art and craft but she said that Livi does enjoy art and craft as well. They do have photo and they will be putting it up.
Geee got to go Jordy is bashing on the door.
