Rainy I hope everything is ok with you guys and the fire keeps at bay.
Rainy so glad to hear you're ok but I'll be anxious for a bit now wondering about the whole fire situation. Do hope the cooler temps (and did I hear someone say rain?) help on that front AND make everything more bearable down your way. xxx
Ange, you sound like you earned your cankles, I didn't do half that much and I'm still pooped this morning! LOL
Clare, how you doing hun? LOL at the milo and the bandy legs. I guess they prolly knew a lot of bandy-legged kids back in the day. These days girls just get osteoporosis from drinking too much diet coke LOL.
Katie, well you'll get your cape when I learn how to machine-sew sequins then! LOL
Cally, that's rotten about the biting. Not nice! I think I'd be a bit tense dropping her off, hopefully she doesn't start biting other kiddies too LOL. Great tip re the mattress, we had one in E's room the other night (so H could sleep in the aircon) and E just loved it!
PP - I hear you on the fish oil, I think I'm still deficient from not remembering to take my preggy vits every day. Not game to take them lately with the gallstones, so I'll have to keep being a bit daft for the next coupla weeks then I can get as fishy as I like LOL. No still haven't got my FDC sorted, I've got another few weeks but I'm only doing parttime subjects so can knock that over evenings and weekends if I have to.
Arte, you've definitely acclimatised to NZ if 25 degrees seems hot! LOL Well done on the sleeping progress, I bet that's a huge relief, plus you won't know yourself with all that extra sleep. Hey how's life in the new house? RU loving having your own little patch of green NZ turf?
MM - I agree that's excessive amount of treat food for a little girl to be having! Maybe you'll have to be upfront and tell them BEFORE they next spend time with her. Better still, get DF onto it.
Rainy I hope everything is ok.
Ange hope the cankels have eased.
MD so are you off to spotlight then so you can do my cape???? I was even going to buy some pink sparkly undies to wear over my tights.
Cally thats no good about the biting. L loves to play on his mattress too, I usually put it on the ground when I change the sheets.
PP I need to take some fish oil, I dont eat any seafood or get much in the way of Omega 3. I am meeting the midwife I chatted on the phone to tomorrow night, very excited.
MM I would be so mad at the inlaws. I am with you and think everything in moderation.
In one of those meh moods tonight, bored but not motivated to do anything.
Ohh Rainy & Ange I am really feeling for the both of you in this heat. Rainy I hope the fire has been kept at bay & your house is safe, how scary. Do you live out of the city a bit?
Cally - Oh no biting is horrible, it hurts too I'm sure. M has been bitten twice now, once at daycare and the other just at mums group & they always seem to leave a bite mark that lasts a few days. Horrible to think how it makes them feel. Poor K, I hope they can sort out the little boy, I've heard that they do it for attention and out of frustration though, so I dont think he is doing it to be mean? I dont know, its a hard one isnt it. I'm sure no one wants to hear that their child has bitten another.
PAP - Ohh how exciting for you, we both get all clucky around young bubs these days too. Wow you must be looking forward to welcoming another bundle of joy. M is fine with daycare now, crys a bit when I leave but apparently it stops very soon after I've left. Of course I get the guilts though. How is N going with it? I am still just doing the two days and wont do any more than that. How are you going with work? Will you keep working once the second child arrives?
Clare - Bandy legs!? What the? I gave M some warm milo once in winter, but she didnt seem to like it, not such a bad thing hehe.
I am still feeling a bit angry about the giving M junk food situation. Also I'm anxious as they are coming up again this Sat, & going to the footy with DP & taking M along. I wont be going as I'm going for my hair trial & I know they will shovel chips and junk down her throat, DP drives me nuts as he says I am being paranoid & wont stick up for me. I just wish that they could respect my decisions and go with them, they've had their turn at being parents 4 times. Just because my MIL has terrible eating habits doesnt mean I want her to teach my daughter those habits as well grrr.
G, I hope they got the fire out and you didn't have to evacuate
H, I have the same problem with my Mum. No matter how hard I try to tell her, as soon as she gets the kids on her own she just lets them eat crap all day or just not stick to a regular meal time and she just doesn't *think* kwim? And to make it worse, she's diabetic so you would think she'd know better. I have come to accept that no matter how much preaching I do at her she wont change, although she's not really like that with Alister cause I told her he has food allergies ;) *shhhhh*. If they wont change all you can do is make up for it afterwards and totally eliminatte anything less than ideal from her diet for a few days to let her get over it all kwim? I think the problem too is not so much that it's the food they eat that can make them bounce off the walls (although it will affect different children in different ways) but that they get soooo overstimulated too. While ever they are there in your presence, just don't let them give her food - make excuses like she's only just eaten, or she's about to have lunch etc and they wont get offended that way or make a compromise, like after she's had her lunch, she can have half a biccie etc.
Cally, I hope they get this little boy's biting issue sorted soon for K's sake!
Had a day out in Wagga yesterday - had to see my gyno for my follow up appt after the surgery. He showed me loads of pics that he took during the surgery and it looks like I have adenoymosis as well as the endo - that's when the endo grows into the uterus because the inside of my uterus has all these little red splotches all over it. It was kinda cool to *see* inside me and inside my uterus. He showed me where the scarring was and all the work that he did. So for now, we're leaving things as they are. He thinks the IUD has given me an irritable uterus, hence the cramping and pain during sex so I have some stuff to take for that and we'll see how it goes for a month and then pull it out if it doesn't improve. I also need BT done for hormone levels to see where I am at and if menopause is closing in and also for PCOS. So over all a good outcome.
And I also got to meet with the gorgeous Amysarah for lunch. She's wonderful - just like she is on here. We're going to meet up again too. And then I had a bit of shopping and browsing to do too - I was on my own so I made the most of it ROFL.
Sherie - soundslike a wonderful day! wow must have been amazing to see your 'insides'... sounds like a great GYN - so thorough! I hope the meds help... did you know all of this was going on with you and you wanted to wait til your baby making was done or has it crept up on you?
MM - grrrrrr at the ILs. I am lucky neither my mum or my ILs would do that... I must say though DH gives him more treats than i would like... not too bad though but i do think we need him to have good habits from now. N issuch a good eater i am not so worried about it as he gets so much goodness in but i do like to limit naughty things.. all in moderation! have fun at the hair trial - how are you doing it?
Rainy - i hope you escaped the fire and didnt have to evacuate, i know how terrifying that can be, cant imagine with a toddler and 36 wks preg.
MD - thats great you can fit the uni in at nights... perfect. i guess you willput E into FDC for some MD time though?
I am feeling so much better, my friend who is a TCM practitioner and naturopath (she is amazing specialises in fertiluty and womens health) has me on a good regime of supplements and i feel so much better... feel like i am forever taking vits etc but i do feel good for it. i was reading more about the fish oils yest, i cant believe how important they are... and i must be depleted big time LOL!
Cally - that biting doesnt sound good, and Katie sounded so sweet to be taking him a toy... N bites me sometimes and it sure does hurt!
I think the preg hormpnes are making my BBs smell good to N again, he constantly has his head buried down my top LOL!
hey everyone,
hope those near the fires havnt had to evacuate and all is well!!
asha had her first day at childcare yesterday.. she went really well.. didt cry when i dropped her off and went to sleep easier for them than she does for us!! apparantly she was a little angel lol that would be right!!
everythings good here.. same old same old cant get the house clean and its actually really dirty rather than just messy but every time i get up to do something i get dizzy, think its my blood pressure as i have naturally low pressure... waiting for that second trimester buzz so i can get things done am 14wks tmw so fingers crossed its on its way!!
sorry i really dont have the energy for personals just wanted to say well done md on getting a date booked for ur surgery u can think of dp and i when u go in haha coz thats the day we are booking our wedding for haha yes we are a little cooky!!
hope everyones having a good day!
PP, I have always had the issues since I started my menses, but having the kids sort of held it at bay for a few years. It makes it easier to treat now though that I'm done with babies cause we can look at longer term treatments kwim? LOL at N always being nuzzled into you - A will always put his hand down my top when I pick him up if he's a bit sooky.
Noni, its hard for anyone to have any energy with this heat, let alone when you're pg, but I hope you do start to feel better soon
OMG Noni did I read that right, are you getting MARRIED in 10 days??????!!!! :o Or just another Fri the 13th? yay for Asha's first day, sounds like it's going to be a fantastic arrangement for all of you. I hope that energy kicks in for you soon!
Rainy, thinking of you this morning, hope everythings allright your way.
Trill, far out brussel sprout at getting to see your insides! A friend of mine who was having a whole lot of not-right symptoms eventually found out she was having a premature menopause at age 37. That's how old I am. That would be bit of a psychological hurdle I reckon.
PP lucky you having a TCM naturopath for a friend! Yep still aiming to get E into FDC one day a week until I find my perfect job then it'll be work 3 days a week, E in care 3.5-4 days a week (so I still get my MD time) LOL. *sigh* Yep that means I'm officially job-searching now!
lol no woops march friday the 13th haha for some reason my brain didnt even think there was a friday the 13th in february haha but ofc there is.. sorry!!
Wow that's so exciting Noni!! How are the preparations going??
i'm alive!
fire was put out after about 3 hours.
my house is so messy, looks like a bomb has hit it.
still tired and hot around here
bbl 4 personals xoxo
Hi Girls,
Well we got back yesterday and OMG I am so tired. We had the most amazing time but I am really glad to be home. We left with 3 bags and returned with 9 yep thats right 9. The shopping was fantastic and cheap (come home with money). I bought 9 hand bags and have now 5 left for me. ( gave the others away to family as pressies) Liv and the boys got all new winter cloths and some summer ones too. DH of course bought all his Michael Jordan stuff lol. Only had One accident whist away. Jordy slipped on ice in flagstaff in front of our cabin and hit a outdoor table and cut open his forehead. Went to the hospital and he got 4 stiches( 2 inside and 2 outside). The hospital could not get a hold of my insurance people so I had to pay a deposit of $500 and they said they will post the other 2 bills. I asked about how much they said about $1500.00 and that was just the local hospital. Finally after 2days of trying I got a hold of my insurance people which was suppose to be 24 hr 7 days a week open and gave them a piece of my mind and told them that I will be giving them the bills to pay and they better refund me my $500 back. Jordy is great and got his stiches out today but Livi has an ear infection and wakes up screaming at night. Got AB's for her so I hope they kick in and get her better soon. Ok gotta go sorry Livi is crying. Will BBL.
Hello to everyone and love you all
md - preparations are going well but its just a small registry wedding and we will go out for a meal afterwards but people will pay for themselves instead of getting us wedding gifts.. just a really small scale thing.. going ring shopping nxt weekend i think coz dps aunts want to buy the wedding rings for us even tho we told people we dont want presents they are insisting so why not hey? going next week to book in a time at the registry and look at some resteraunts in the local area but yeh not much planning to be done really.. a friend of dp at work has offered us their holiday house in port stevens if we would like to go their after the wedding so we are thinking about that too :)
sorry everyone must go.. have eaten so badly today (maccas breaky and pizza for lunch) and then i finally did some cleaning and now i am feeling really sick ahh gotta get this eating under controll!!
Noni, there is a Friday 13th in March and then another one in November too - so which one is it gonna be ;) It sounds lovely what you have planned.
Leanne, the US health system sucks bigtime! I would hate to live over there and have to deal with it all the time. Glad to hear it's healing well though. I hope Livvi's ear is better soon too.
G, I hope your house doesn't reek of smoke - I couldn't handle that.
MD, it's been something I've been thinking about lately, the whole menopause thing. Mum told me the other week that hers just stopped at 47 - no menopause symptoms or anything, they just didn't come back the next month. She did notice that they were getting progressively lighter each time though and only lasting 1 day. I hope I have it that good. My Aunt (mums sister) went through it years ago too but she started at 9. I suppose it's something you will have to start thinking about with H too!
OK, I have to admit that yesterday I brought Alister a pair of baby haviana's (runs away and hides from the jibes ;) ) But in my defence I only brought them because his size 7 flippers are too big for his current sandals and his toes hang off the edge now and it looks awful and I didn't want to spend $$ buying new leather sandals that he will only wear the next few weeks. I couldn't find any other little thongs anywhere with the elastic at the back, so I had to swallow my pride and buy them ROFL, but I didn't pay full price - I brought ones that were reduced cause they were the last in stock of that colour (navy blue).
Alister is being such a tyrant lately too and it's driving me mental!! Like today, he found a pool ring, went and got his hat on and walked around the house in the pool ring for nearly 1hr complaining and whinging at me cause he wanted to go for a swim. Plus he makes it impossible to get anything done around the house now, so it has to wait till he's in bed at night or having a sleep (today he slept from 11.30 to 3pm so I can't complain) I think it's mostly a developmental stage too because it's mostly communication that gets him cranky so he's picked up a few new words that makes it easier, but there is still so much he wants to say, but can't so he gets cranky when we don't understand what he wants right away.
I found out what he did yesterday in DH's care too ROFL - I took a photo of him out by the pool today in his ring and his boots and hat (cause DH left the door open and he got his gumboots on and escaped with the ring to the pool LOL - criminal mastermind in the making I think) and I had a look at the pics that were already on there and here's Alister, sitting in the dog's water bucket! The water was filthy too *Blergh!* i'll post it later on.
hey there,
well i finally managed to clean my bathroom yesterday.. i believe i asked dp to clean it two weekends ago because of the chemicals and stuff but i just couldnt stand it anymore!! so i got out my vinegar and my baking powder and it came up really nice haha!! hoping this is maybe a bit of extra energy kicking in coz usually i wouldnt manage to do anything lol.. i really wanted to do the loungeroom and kitchen but was too tired so hopefully i get to them today...
sherie - itll be march 13th as i wanna get married before this bubby comes :) Asha sounds alot like Alister atm gets cranky very easily because i cant understand what she wants alot of the time.. how cute he got his swimming ring and sat in the dogs water haha..
leanne - glad the trip went well. wow thats a big bill for a few stitches isnt it? hope u get everything sorted with the insurance company!
rainy - glad the fire was put out! hope you got some rest!
md - goodluck with the job searching
pp - ;ucky u having a natropath friend!! glad all the supplements are making u feel better.. im still not feeling good enough to swallow the iron tablets yet (makes me rech) fingers crossed i can soon..
mm - how was maddie after the junk food did she calm down for u? that happened to us at ashas birthday.. wed let her have her hands in the cake and shed got alot of sugar that way and then someone fed her red jelly!! needless to say she was bouncing off the walls for ages xmas too ppl just kept feeding her crap.. thats hard tho when its not just special occassions do u think dp could talk to them for u? or maybe you could tell them she got sick last time they fed her all that stuff?
katie - how was the midwife?
hello to everyone else hope everyones having a great morning..
Clare woot woo love the new av. I really need to upgrade and should do it now.
Noni good for you getting your bathroom done, mine is shocking.
Trillian L sounds a lot like A at the moment. I feel so frustrated some days when I just want to get something done and he wont let me. Its also such a cute age though isn't it, I am amazed by L every day.
Leanne good to see you back.
Rainy glad everything is ok. Not much longer to go now.
AFM seen the midwife last night, she was lovely and DH liked her too. She has an apartment overlooking the beach so I asked how much extra to use her place to homebirth lol. Better run we have lots to do today.
Hi everyone
Rainy - glad all is ok. has it cooled down a bit there? Not long to go now my dear! WOW! what did you decide re DH going away for the weekend (it is this weekend right)
Katie - woo hoo on loving the middie and DH loving her too, is he coming around to the idea of a homebirth?
Leeanne - good to see you back, sounds like you had fun and one accident in all that time with 3 yo boys is rather good!
MD - wow you will be busy! any interesting jobs around?
Sherie - i bet he looks cute in his havaianas... and well done on a bargain! so cute him standing there with his swimming ring on. its good you are getting things sorted health wise - i dont envy you!
noni - hope you start to feel better soon, i am finding this preg a lot harder than last time. i think it is not being able to have a break etc. i am off to preg yoga today, back into it - i find if i dedicate a bit moretime to do preg things i feel better - swimming, yoga etc. we have to nurture ourselves and these new babies!!! it is hard to remember that sometimes with a toddler around!
