Oh Clare! Your poor thing, I'm sure you will sort through everything you need to with the psychologists help. Hopefully now your DH will see how serious you are about it all & will attempt to make more of an effort. Thanks for what you said, I'm sure you are right about the whole M & nightime bottle thing.
Arte - Lucky you camping, how is W finding it?
Oz - Love your wedding pics, you look stunning in your dress with your nice brown skin, lucky thing. As for your hubby, wow he is gorgeous too. What a beautiful couple, no wonder L is such a looker! I had a nice time looking at your lovely wedding pics. :)
morning girls
katie- i have to second what hayley just said, your wedding pics are lovely. you make a gorgeous couple. i really loved that colour pink you had too, looked so pretty with your tans. how gorgeous :)
hayley- did you have the 3.30am this morn? sounds like it's the easiest option atm, seeing as she just has the bottle then goes back to sleep, i would just look at it as your 3.30am toilet break :D
arte- i hear you on the weaning. jmo, but i think you really need to do something or you will find yourself completely exhausted soon. how many weeks are you? i was still feeding him quite a lot in the first trimester, and it really made me very crabby and intolerant. your body is working on overload trying to grow the new baby, you know?
i know i've said it before, but have you tried pushing the cows milk a little more? it was really a turning point for us when he started loving cows milk.
does he help himsef to the boob in bed? or do you sort of have to give it to him iykwim? i basically sort of stopped outright offering it, and would just snuggle right up to him and spoon him and give him kissses and he would just fall straight back to sleep. he really just wanted comfort/security. once the overnight feeds stopped, he really only wanted a couple in the day and then he just stopped competely.
clare- sounds like you're getting the help you need, so i'm sure it'll be fine. funny how a lot of us are having similar sorts of problems atm.
MD:
I jealous of your pool! By the sounds of what you described, the boys wld love it!!
Yeah mum is pretty good .. it was the chief surgeon too. Gallstones are a big thing in our family & it worries me that my sister hasn't been checked (they no longer bulkbill the scan).
Hayley:
Sorry, Alex hasn't had many of the probs that you are having with your nite feeds. He did have the odd bottle during the nite, & yeah, pretty much, it was watever was easier! He actually took a bottle of milk to bed the other nite
Thanks hun. Not sure wat caused. Prob was a bit anxious bout my ex calling but he never rang (which is a 1st, normally wen he says he will ring, he does). Something it telling me to have faith & w8 it out, hmm, When I think I have myself all sort :'(
Just had my choc mud mousse tub taken off me :( but then i was given the tub jack wasn't eating .. Thanks Alex!!
Clare:
All the best with DH. I wish my ex wld have even made even a commitment to tell me anything! Hope you sort it out.
not much here today .. Tracey mowed my yard whilst i picked up sticks, toys & moved the playgym. Had tried to take the boys outside earlier than that but after bout 20mins, Alex wanted to come back inside. Jack is devouring some custard atm & i hate to have a look at him .. he is so independant, he even has to feed himself breaky now (ROFL, this morning, he was fishing Alex's fruit loops out of alex's bowl into his own, with his spoon, then when he had pilfered enough, he ate them with his hands! ROFL, what a kid!!)
off to do something constructive .. what yet I don't know, maybe see if i can unravel some fluff wool & knit my sisters long overdue scarf :S
have a good day ladies ... happy thoughts to everyone xox
What a start to 2009 hey?!
Rainy yep I did the 3.30am bottle lol.
Andie - No swimming today? Well since he never called, maybe you should take that as a sign that you are doing the right thing by moving on & forgetting about him.
Ohhh I am so clucky today....hurry up wedding so that we can start ttc!
hehe Hayley, no not today! Thx hun . Just wish males were willing to talk like we do IYKWIM
Sounds like a rough start to the year for everyone :(
MM I still get up once or twice a night to feed L back to sleep too. This morning it took an hour to get him to go back to sleep!
Can't remember who was talking about weaning.. I wish L would wean too but L thinks he needs it to go to sleep too even though some nights he just rolls around the bed for a few minutes and conks out! During the day, no chance though :(
Clare hope all goes well Tuesday!
Sorry everyone I've missed. Need to TRY and get L down for a nap he's way too cranky.
Howdy lovely ladies,
MM and rainy thanks for the comments on my pics, makes me feel a bit spesh. A friend had been wanting me to put up wedding pics for ages.
Arte hows the pregnancy going? You got any MS?
For those with bubs having sleep troubles a friend of mines bub was waking and having massive tantrums lasting for hours, she started him on some brauers calm and after about a week he is sleeping through again. She didnt have a very good routine though so she worked on that too. I hope to gets better for you all. L has been having bad dreams and waking but I just give him his dummy and he goes back to sleep. Sometimes I offer him a sip of water if he is more awake.
Had a lazy weekend, went and got a few things we needed and have watched loads of movies. Waiting for L to wake up so I can take him to the park to run around. Its a nice cool day today. Off camping next weekend and cant wait.
hi girls!
thanks for all the lovely words! it really means alot. i think the new year has been intense for sooo many. had a 1st birthday to go to today and so many girls were complaining about the rough start.
Katie: ooh you and arte with your camping has me green with envy!
MM: you are soo cute! you are going to start TTC in april isnt it?? let's see if you can hang out that long LOL!
Andie: sounds like a busy day for you guys today. had to giggle at the effort he went to in stealing the cereal! so funny!!
AFM: MUCH better day to day. we totally cleaned the house today and it looks and smells and feels good. then went off to a 1st birthday in the park to catch some rays and eat some cake. Leila had her first go at fairy bread and it rocked her world! LOL!
Clare big hugs. Sometimes you really need to hit the reset button, it sounds like today was Button Day. I'm sure you will find a constructive way to move forwards together. A lot of the time it's really about examining your expectations together then negotiating the middle path, kwim? YAY for your retail therapy, I'm sooo jealous of your sandpit sand. I've got such a long list of things that need doing (knobs back on cupboards, light fixtures fixed, washing the rest of the tenants filthy cigarette smoke grime off my revolting 1980s wood pannelling) that I fear sandpit sand might be a couple of weeks away for me. AND my potted herb garden. But can I say I'm sure we are twins that were separated at birth - I too am the ramshackled banshee from the swamp who accidently found a cute baby!!!
All this talk of weaning, I am soooooo nearly ready for it! Miss E seems so conflicted the whole time, it's like she wants it but she doesn't and there's so much squirming and wriggling and slapping and so little actual feeding going on that I suspect my dwindling supply will decide it in the end. Bit sad though, it's the end of an era for me.
Nella I was thinking about you today wondering how you're holding up?'
Andie - I know I"m jealous of my pool too for not having had one like that for 5 years! LOL. I'm sooo looking forward to all the good times we'll have there now!
Noni - wow I bet you were soooo excited at the ultrasound! I think you're right, it might be a little too early to know for sure about a boy, nice to have an early sneak peek though, right? LOL I bet you're missing your friend now that the holiday has ended.
Arte - I've got to agree with Rainy. E's sleeping got wildly better not only because of the controlled crying thing but also stopping feeds. She was younger, so I'd give her a feed around 11 and then nothing more until 5.30 at the earliest. That might not be right for you, but I think it helped us. Also agree that if he's not able to help himself (maybe try wearing something like an extra singlet that he's not going to be able to get into) that might help...? Just because you're cutting back doesn't mean you have to wean completely (not unless that's what you want). xxx
Rainy, have you gone on domestic strike yet? hehe Hope you're resting up. xx
Katie - excellent tip re the brauers. I've got to admit (MD's guilty secret) I'm not a believer yet. Which is funny cos I believe in practically all the other zany weird woohoo cosmic stuff. LOL Funny about the bad dreams, I'm sure that's what woke E up last night. She had a really good cry and only wanted to be cuddled.
AFM - well finally made to Ikea today. Were "supposed" to be buying storage solutions but managed to come away with curtains and quilts and decorative things for Miss E's bedroom instead LOL. Have just about got DH convinced to get that cute little wrought iron extendable toddler bed when it's big-bed time! Also picked up a lovely antique kitchen cabinet from my sister, it's going into the study so now I have NO EXCUSE not to get it unpacked and sorted..
hey everyone,
have been studying the dvd and would be very surprised if this baby isnt a boy lol dunno what else it could be between its legs that dosnt move and stays the same shape in the same spot between its legs?? still open to being wrong tho..
i am sooo tired i feel like i could sleep for a week lol ive been sooo moody too!! just cant help it this time i am much more of a b**ch!!
md - yeh missing my friend heaps, especially being pregnant and all emotional lol.. yay on the pretty things from ikea i love the stuff they have but hate how long u have to spend there lol..
clare - hope ur feeling better.. will you come and clean my house? its gross! haha
katie - thats a good tip re the brauers we use their cold and flue relief and pain and fever relief (have only used it for pain so far not fever) and i find them really effective.. will have to check out the wedding pics!
eeek gotta go ashas spreading vegemite everywhere.. bbl hope everyones having a good day :)
Oz, you were such a beautiful bride! I still haven't got any photos printed out, maybe in time for the 3rd anniversary lol. I am 7 weeks now, MS was not to bad but has stepped up a notch today. I was soooo hoping not to get sick this time, I don't know how I will cope if I get as sick as last preg. Where abouts do you go camping?
Rainy, I keep offering the cows milk, but he just isn't that into it. And he will only drink from a straw cup and tips milk everywhere if I leave it with him for more than a couple of minutes Grrrr. I have given up all hope that he will self wean and I have started to actively wean him now. He grizzles in bed for a feed at night, so now he is just getting cuddles - I give him a quick feed if he is getting upset but am not letting him fall asleep feeding. I am also denying him a bit during the day. He seems o.k with it so far, but I am getting even less sleep! Hopefully it will start to pay off soon.
MM, how is everything going? I too would suggest just keeping the night bottle, but with all the troubles I have with night feeds I am about the last person to give advice on the subject lol. W loved the camping, there was some sand down at the river so he had a giant sandpit to entertain him. The look on his face when he woke in the morning and realised we were actually sleeping in the tent was priceless!
Clare, if you are ever in the neighbourhood you are more than welcome to come camping with us lol.
Cally, is your DH's thumb all better now?
Pregpan, hope all is going well. Are you going to find out the gender this time?
Noni, lol at A spreading vegemite everywhere, hope she didn't make too much mess.
I think Leanne is at Disneyland today, the lucky duck!
On top of being so tired and feeling like cr@p, I have had some results back from the midwife that have led me to being diagnosed as pre-diabetic. I guess I knew it already because my fasting results never went back to normal after W was born, but it was nicer to pretend everything was o.k and go on living normally. So now I am probably going to get diabetes in the next 5 years, but after the stress of this pregnancy on my pancreas there is a good chance that it will stay after the baby is born. I am really down about it, I mean I am only 26 and I know I am fat but I didn't ever think I was 'diabetes by 30' fat.

Morning ladies.
Well i have decided it must be the moon or something. We are all having such a ****ty time. DD has decided to start waking once or twice in the night and going from two sleeps to one is proving a little challenging! But the old mantra 'this too shall pass' is forever marching throuhg my little brain! ;)
MM- Totally agree with the "if you're happy with it, don't change it" line of thought. The only reason i actively night weaned L was that i was too exhausted, frustrated and the lack of sleep was effecting me. I am a woman who needs her sleep! If you don't mind getting up to give her the bottle, then it doesn't matter at all. ;)
Nonie- :rolf: i can just imagine you sitting infront of the TV turning your head from side to side trying to work out if they are testicles or not!
Oh Arte  Being overweight is a contributing risk factor for diabetes, but not the only one. So don't be down on yourself, there are other contributing factors too. In regards to the milk, L didn't like milk much at all, but i just kept offering it and now she loves her nice cold milk for morning tea. Have you tried a non-leak cup with a straw? Saves cleaning up the mess!
Clare- Glad you had a better day, hope things continue to improve.
Katie- Love your wedding pics, you look soooooooo happy. I think i'll get some brauers today. Give anything a shot!
Funny story- L had her nappy off the other night and she farted and shat herself, she started screaming and running away but she kept doing it. I was in hysterics but trying not to laugh and she was all upset. It was very funny. Guess she's not ready for TT!
Think we're going to head to the local pool today....escape the heat. ;)
PAP - come back!
Ange - hope the pool was good. DH and DD are there as I type.
Arte - DH's thumb is pretty much fine now, thanks for asking. good luck with the cutting down of feeds.
Clare - good luck with your meeting tomorrow. I know what you mean about having to congratulate DH's on doing work. I had to say thank you to DH for folding the nappies last week - what about the 100+ loads I have folded, still waiting for my thanks for that!!
Brauers calm - I used it when I was trying to get DD to go to sleep at bedtime without feeding to sleep and without screaming for an hour. It worked for me.
All is good here. My parents are coming down for the weekend which will be good. Means we have to do some housecleaning this week though.....
ROFL Ange, I don't know how you could possibly be laughing when you know you had to clean it up!
Arte, don't worry about the diabetes, just do what you have to do to make sure it doesn't get worse and then tackle it head on once bubs is born. I had the 'diabetes at 30' talk with DH not long ago, I know I'm overweight, but I don't think I'll get it, even though Mum is on insulin, and her Mum was diet controlled, but with all these bt's I'm having not one has shown up anything funky (the MTX can affect insulin etc) I have to wait till the older two are back at school cause it's just impossible to exercise with all 4 of them home cause I can guarantee that they will start fighting the moment I get on the treadmill
Hey MD!! I did get your message - thanks so much hun, it really meant a lot  SO how did you get on with the Dr? I really hope it doesn't take too long. I bet you're looking super slim with being on such a low fat diet. LOL at you buying everying bar what you meant too - I do that too.
Hi to everyone else, I promise I'll be back for a bigger post tonight.
Trill Darlink! Good to see you back in here! Um no not quite super slim yet but it does seem to be falling off me. It's costing a fortune too because I'm buying all these diet products that I normally wouldn't DREAM of looking at in the shops simply because they are the only super-low-fat things I can find. They even have these 98% fat free chips (I know, what's the point of THAT? It's right up there with caffeine-free diet coke LOL). I'll see the surgeon on Thurs, fingers and toes crossed that I see Mr Head Honcho and that he takes a liking to me and decides to do the surgery himself. Public system health lottery.
Arte - oh don't stress about the diabetes thing, it's just a set of risk factors and nothing else. You know all about the low-gi diet stuff, add some exercise in and you're doing everything and more to keeping it under control for decades to come, kwim? Even ppl who are actually diabetic can turn that around by being clever about their diet and lifestyle. xxx Good luck with cutting back the feeds, sounds like you're doing all teh right things.
OMG PP - what was that cryptic message about? Quick reply? To what? LOL xxx
Noni, well it does sound like a boy unless it's a girl with a huge enormous cl!t! PMSL! hey did you end up getting out to the library or finding a playgroup yet? I haven't started looking here yet but going to an info session about kindergym (the one DD1 went to) later this week.
OMG Ange that must've been hilarious! Scary poo huh? You are in for some fun when it's TT time!
just a quick one.. am going to check out another childcare centre i didnt know about this avo with dp.. cross ur fingers for me coz they sounded really nice on the phone and have quakified staff in all rooms (which was what i didnt like about the other one near by) its about a 10 minute walk away which is good so yeh will bbl to let u all know how it went and get down to some more personals :)
