hey everyone, have caught up on all your posts but it's too hot to keep sitting here now to post much LOL - was 48 here yesterday and it's going to be just as hot again.
Alister had a tantrum that lasted for half hour this morning that was borne of pure frustration and being unable to communicate properly what he wanted, no matter what I tried to offer, he refused and threw himself down, but I think too he didn't really know what he wanted in the first place kwim? He decided in the end he wanted a banana and was happy enough after that. He's in bed now and I just think he's exhausted from the heat because he's not eating terribly well ATM either.
PP, hun, it would be hard for all your family. I hope your Granddad transitions OK.
-
Well I'm having a very weird moment. In the index it looks like Trill's posted but I can't see your post anywhere??? Is it just me? Have I really trooly finally gone nutso?
-
Sherie: oh those kind of tantrums are hard huh. we have had a few of those and you really feel for the little tikes. it must be frustrating. and yeah the lack of interest in food is most prob the heat. leila (who eats like a horse showed zero interest during the heatwave last week). 48 degrees is really full on. that is the hottest i have experienced and i still remember it clearly as i was 8 years old and the bitumen melted and we got the day off school.
Rainy: the pressure is also good! yay for bubs, sounds like they know what they are doing! i had loads of that towards the end, and i guess that is why my waters broke LOL! please dont stop talking about it! it's beautiful to share this with you pg girls!
-
OK, sanity floods back...I can see you now Trill!
I'm pretty sure E's first full-blown tantrum will be over food LOL. As it is she chucks what I've prepared over the side of high chair and screams and points frantically at the cupboard that has the biscuits in. Cos I'm really going to excuse you from dinner and give you a biscuit instead...NOT! I'm desperately trying to get E signing some more because we're having those frustration moments here too, Trill. Poor A, hope he feels better when he's had his sleep.

Hi Girls,
Well I am at work looking at all my paperwork and decided to come on and say hello.
Sherie- Yep Livi is a trantum chucker too. She stomps her feet and throws herself on the floor. I end up walking away from her and she soon stops.
MD- I have weird moments all the time....lol
Rainy have fun at mothers group
Claire- hope you are feeling better.
-
MD: ROFL at miss E!! i don't think you need signing for THAT one LOL!!
leanne: thanks babe! i am feeling better today, so hopefully the ABs are doing the trick. how is the mountainous paperwork going? feeling like the pro climber LOL!?
-
Welcome back LP!! We were all so worried about you, but understandable in the circumstances that you weren't able to log on. Glad that Shannon is feeling better now, hope he continues to improve.
I've done a fringe trim for K, but I'm not ready to cut off her baby curls yet. I know they will be gone forever once we do it, DH and I have such straight hair.
Heatwave - hope everyone is coping OK, esp Rainy and Ange. It's even going to be 36 here tomorrow, unusual for on the coast.
Clare - hope those tonsils are behaving themselves. Any chance of getting them out? Well done on the handmedowns. How do you keep clips in L's hair? K keeps getting me to put them in, wants to look in the mirror, then pulls them out and gives them straight back to me to put back in!! It's only stayed in once when I slipped it in while she was really distracted!!
MD - only a week to go to the surgery, that must be a good feeling.
Rainy - I have everything crossed that you last until Monday when DH comes back. That must be scary when they're predicting another day like Ash Wednesday.
PP - gosh you are busy. Hugs to you re grandad.
Leanne - welcome back. Glad you had such a good trip and well done for only having one accident!!
Arte - good luck with the move, hope it doesn't take too long to get back on line.
Well we had a quick trip to emergency last night. When I got K up yesterday morning I could see that she had been bitten by something and there was a spot on her elbow that looked like she was sunburnt (I thought maybe they missed a spot at childcare). I picked up some antihistamine from the chemist and then when we got her home last night, her elbow was looking all blistered and raised and there was another similar spot under her arm that definitely couldn't have been sunscreen. Anyway, doc reckons it was just a bad reaction to sandflies (she helped DH wash the car the night before). Did feel a bit guilty taking her there as she so did not look sick - she was playing with the curtain, dancing around, rolling on the floor etc. I do like living in the country though, nurse saw us straight away and only had to wait about 30 min for the doc.
Hope everyone else is well. We have a big surfboat carnival at our beach this weekend and the Roulettes are flying over - looking forward to that!
-
just popping in to say hello. Feeling tired and cranky so I will be back later when I am in a better mood.
-
double post again ooops!!
-
-
Oz - Hope you are feeling a bit more relaxed and not so grumpy now hehe.
Cally - We have done the fringe trim too, but we are the same with trimming the cute curls. Will hold off awhile longer. Thank goodness the bites were only sandflies and not something more serious. I know what you mean about feeling a bit silly going to the hospital, when they look & act fine and run a muck. Best to get things checked out though, I'm sure the doctors and nurses agree.
MD - Oh noo little monkey wanting the biscuits for tea instead!
Leemar - Hope you are managing to get through your paperwork, must be hard going back to work after having had a nice break.
Trillian - Wow what a tantrum. We have had plenty of those ones, it must be so frustrating for them. Sometimes I get frustrated myself when M is chucking a tantrum, its sometimes hard to see it from their point of view & be understanding iykwim, when all you want to do is find a way to calm them down.
Rainy - Dont feel bad about getting a cleaner in, you should be celebrating hehe! Thats so sweet of your dad. Please keep talking about your pregnancy, I love pregnancy/baby talk, besides we are all so excited for you & love being kept up to date.
Clare - Sorry to hear you still arent 100%, those tonsils of yours are so naughty!
PAP - Sorry to hear that your granddad has been moved into high care, I'm sure he will be well looked after. My sister works in high care & the way she talks about the people she cares for is so lovely, the nurses really genuinely love & care for their patients.
I had a bit of a win today, after my disaster with my now too small witchery dress that I got for after the wedding. My sister offered me use of a beautiful flowing Lisa Ho dress, that she paid close to $1000 for, & has worn once. Its perfect, so I've just dropped it off at the drycleaners for $26. Saves me having to spend even more money on another dress! So happy.
What is going on with BB today anyway, keeps timing out & wont let me post...ahh!
-
MM WOW on the dress, thats so nice of your sister.
Cally I get allergic reactions to mozzies its horrible and I hope L doesnt inherit it. Its best to take them to be checked out and find nothing wrong then to leave it and find out later it is serious.
Leanne I hope your feeling better and managed to get through the paperwork.
MD I had trouble the other day seeing Trillians posts too. L loves to stand at the cupboard and point and yell till I open it.
Rainy a cleaner sounds fantastic. Yep I am originally from Sydney. I love hearing about your PG.
Clare are you feeling better?
Noni where are you?? Hows your pg going?
I am not so cranky now lol. Very tired and letting things get the better of me. Started back at playgroup today L had a great time. My sister has her baby shower this weekend, I wish I could go although it is meant to be 46 degrees so I am glad I will be here close to the beach.
-
hi girls!
oz: 46 is hot! the weather has been really extreme this summer huh? what with the brisbane storms and victoria and SA in meltdown. here is going to be 44 in town today.
is this your sisters first baby? i love baby showers too!
MM: score on the dress! lisa ho does great dresses for that kind of affair! make sure you take piccies!
Cally: we tend to use alligator style clips in L's hair. they stick in a bit better than the other ones. also we try to chop and change the position so that when she tries to pull them out they are not where they were last time IYKWIM and usually after 5 secs she gives up. up top in the middle is my fav spot LOL!
i spoke to the dr the other day about getting the tonsils ripped out, but he said that it wont fix the problem because when it went into my lymph nodes in the neck last time it just means that without the tonsils any future infection will go straight there instead. so basically there's not a lot to do. i think i will go and see a naturopath or something to help boost my immune...
AFM: well we are bunkering down for the hot weather today. meant to be 44 today and already it is getting hot. but being melbourne tomorrow is meant to be 23! we'll head off to the baths today as the toddler pool there is fantastic and miss L will love it. we have also been told to ignore the 155 litre water usage targets today. the gov must be desperate to keep us out of the hospitals LOL!
-
Well Missy E is off at Bunnings with her dad while us other girls catch some P&Q (peace and quiet) at home by usselves! Sometimes that man is a genius LOL. And sometimes he's just a nutter.
Well we'll be busy today in the 43 degree heat getting ready for the BBQ that my nutter of a DH organised on Wed (I did say - let's wait until later in the week and see what the forecast is then!!!) so it might be an insidey-BBQ dinner LOL. Pity cos it'd be nice to use my new "hardwood" outdoor table (Cheap As Chips for $80 BARGAIN!!) but that won't happen unless the mythical cool change arrives early. I might have to get out there in my bikini and shell beads and do a little weather dance LOL. Oh well, if the change doesn't arrive, I'll set up an illegal sprinkler, Big-Day-Out style, and the guests can mist themselves off LOL.
Sherie - how you going hun? Have you melted wicked-witch style yet? LOL
MM - WTG on the DRESS! You are gonna look so hot! Bom Chicka Wah WAH! LOL
Cally, don't feel guilty about your ER trip. If they'd been busy you would've waited hours and hours. If you're concerned you should always go. Better safe than sorry IMO. BTW you are well ahead of me, it hadn't occured to me to start hairclip training already - DD1 would never wear them - I prolly started her too late LOL.
Clare, well I agree, if the medical establishment can't help you then it's time to look to the alternative health system! Throat chakra is about self-expression and self-identity, integrity and letting your light shine out in the world, so if you're holding yourself back in any area of your life, now's the time to let it rip! LOL (Yep MD's always good for some free frootloop advice).
*Sigh* Well I'd best be off to make the most of my P&Q.
-
MD - Your DH must be crazy organising a bbq in this weather!! Yay for the P&Q.
Oz - 46, whoah!! I thought 37 here was bad. We get the cool change tomorrow morning I think, then Monday is 22 - oh bliss!! Bummer about missing the babyshower.
Clare - bummer about the tonsils. Naturopath sounds like a good idea. Might try some different spots for the clips, I do tend to always put them in the same spot.
MM - woohoo on the dress!! I'm sure you'll look stunning in it too.
Rainy - I wish we could get a cleaner in here, enjoy it!!
Well we had outside playing in the hose time this morning before 7:30. Now we're hunkered inside with curtains closed and a/c on. Hope everyone else is coping as best they can.
-
WOO HOO just had another win, won a wayne cooper dress off ebay for $40 with the $170 tag still attached & the dress is still in Myer. YAY! Thats for the hens night lol.
Better keep up the water today ladies, far out what a scorcher! Clare, the baths you are talking about, are they the salt baths down at St Kilda beach there? We saw them when we were over looked awesome.
One thing I love about the east coast is all the beach pools all over the joint. Thats one thing I wish we had over here.
Girls I cant wait for our honeymoon, DP & I have been hunting for a hotel in Langkawi. We wanted to stay on the main drag near Cenang beach but the hotel prices are through the roof. Instead we have narrowed it down to a beautiful resort situated on a stunning beach, & the accomodation is like little individual chalets. Old fashioned but looks romantic. Then the other place is mediterranean style and on a boardwalk, with a fab baby pool. However this one is not on the beach, more situated along the boardwalk which looks out over the Langkawi port. So I think we will go for the beach one as we are more beachy people, just wish it had the awesome kiddies pool for M. Sorry if I am rabbiting on about honeymoons, weddings & dresses, its just getting so exciting now.

Time for a new thread!
HERE it is.
