Yay Rainy! The best thing about girls is you can put them in cute little tights in winter, well thats what I reckon anyway lol.
Mothers day has been a bit of a flop here as well I must admit. I got a sleep in, thank goodness because I needed one after weeks of late to bed, night time wakeups & M waking up early. However I did tell DH earlier in the wk dont get me anything as I want to go shopping this week to buy myself new clothes. But in the back of my mind I was secretly hoping he would get me a small something, but guys never seem to fall for that trick do they? He was talking about a pandora bracelet at one stage lol. Men!!!!
Clare - Sorry about the house, if it helps maybe those men got carried away & the winner paid too much anyway just to win iykwim? I hope your mothers day improves, dont worry my hubby is off to the footy shortly. So much for mothers day.
Jaz - So sorry to hear that, such a shame, way too young. :( Had a laugh at H singing aye aye (lady gaga) at the shops. Too cute.
Trill - LMAO at A singing poker face! I LOVE that song! M loves it too, she always busts a move to it. The singing must be hillarious though!
Supa - Good luck with the ttc.
MD - Ouch, poor E, that must have hurt. I hope it grows back quickly.
Noticed on facebook that Noni has gone to Hogs Breath for lunch, lol, what a crack up.
Did a pregnancy test this morning but got a very clear negative. Getting all the symptoms still, heavy abdomen & tingling nip nips (LOL sorry TMI!?) so a bit confused, unless it really is still early to test. Ahh well one way or the other we'll see what happens.

Happy Mothers Day!
It was a fizzer here too, but only because we had a blackout from 5.30am till 2pm, so the huge roast pork I have in the fridge that was going to be lunch didn't get cooked and there was no point cooking it for tonight cause DH started nightshift tonight. So spag bol it is LOL. I will cook the roast tomorrow and DH can have it when he wakes up, so it will at least be worth having. The blackout was over the entire shire district too, so no one got a cuppa or a cooked brekkie or luncheon unless they had gas. Even all the local eateries would have missed out on the trade too and there were quite a few that had luncheons on.
H, don't worry about the pg test. It might just be too early. I never got a positive test with Lindsay even though I had super strong pg symptoms. Even the first blood test wasn't conclusive and I fronted up for that with huge sore boobs and feeling like crap from nausea.
Clare, that is just insane about the house. What fooolishness to keep bidding on it like that and inflating the price. I bet the owners were stoked about it :rolleyes: The Perfect House is out there for you somewhere....
LOL Supa at you taking that long to do anything about having T, I"m sure it wont be that long this time round.
Jaz, I'm going to get that done when we get the FTB top up LOL. I have been wanting to do it for years. I can't wait. I had a mini one done at a ladies day thing so I have a rough idea but it would be awesome to have it done completely.
So MD, what was the gift?
I got the usual gorgeous handmade stuff from the kids and a sleep in till 9.30, so no complaints here (apart from the above LOL), but I would have killed for a cuppa ROFL. Stupid blackout.

Trill - bugger about the cuppa. What did the kids make you this year? Jessica went to the Mother's Day Stall and bought me a Trivet for my cuppa, some table weights and a candle in a bag. She made me a little trinket for my wine glass - with my name on it.
Zoe made me a lovely card and a photo frame. They'd been so excited about giving them to me as well.

Paige and Lindsay just made cards at school/preschool and Erin made a card and they also made some apricot and coconut balls and put them in a little noodle box that they had decorated. It was a gorgeous thing to do for all the Mums, but they are far too sweet for my liking LOL, so I have been letting the kids have some too. They were having a stall at school, but after last years fiasco where I got two tubs of blueberry body butter I told them that I didnt need stuff brought for me and that their handmade cards are all I wanted ;)

Clare, bummer about the house! I can't see the advantage of underpricing potential buyers - surely that just wastes a lot of time for people going to auctions out of their price range?? Real estate agents give me the poos. What about the house that you saw just before your op? Or was that the one that was perfect except it wasn't near a park?
MD, shhhhh! I shudder to think how much of my child-raising is based on growing up with a champion dog trainer! Oh, and Ow Ow Owwww for E's fingernail. The thought of it makes me cringe. Luckily I chew mine down so far that there is no chance I will ever rip one out.
JaZaH, that is really sad about your girls teacher. Sounds like you had a fantastic mothers day haul, hope it cheered you up.

I am another with a belly-flop of a mothers day. I didn't expect anything though (after last years 'but you are not my mother' disaster) so it wasn't that disappointing. I do have a fantastic son that I am very grateful for and he was such a perfect treasure today, he is enough of a gift for me.
Oh, and W's insults aren't exclusively aimed at me - DH picked W up for a cuddle when he got home from work the other night and the first thing W said was 'dad brush teeth' lmao

MD-i returned a library book to blackwood library instead of marlestone tafe campus library! Lol. Being a librarian thought u'd get a laugh out of my clumsiness.

Mothers day was a bit of fizzer here too. Although hubby did get up through the night the night before to help out with Sas, so i had more than 2 hours sleep in a row which was EXCELLENT! We went and visited my mum, and mum and i went shopping while Glenn entertained Lu. Then i said on the way home we were stopping at a nice pub for dinner. So it was a nice day, but i told DH the lack of a card was crap and it shouldn't happen again!!!! I don't want expensive gifts, just a little card to know i am appreciated.
Clare- Bummer on the house, but like Jaz says it's just around the corner. What's with DH playing soccer on mothers day?! That's no fair.
Rainy- Another eh??? That didn't take too long. If you have another boy and i have another girl we'll swap in the hossy ok? :p Hope this morning goes a-ok.
Jaz- hope today is ok. :( I am very jelous of your pressie. That is a cool pressie. How much fun. Can we see some pics. Yanno before and after???
Arte- W is a classic! remined me to be well groomed before i meet him. No hairy legs or bad breath.

Trill- i bet there was a few mum's having a bbq breaky around your parts! What's hubby up to? DH is seeding and spraying atm. long days, every weekend. Sometimes farming is the pits! I guess i wouldn't be so sour if it was our farm, but he works his butt off for someone else for very little thanks.

Supa - hmm i dont know what made us decide. we kinda knew we would ttc when N was 12 months... then again i am a bit older than you i think and it took us 12 months to get preg the 1st time... in some ways i am of the view there is never a right time and the time is never totally wrong if you know you want another... but ask me in about 8 wks if i still think that LOL!
Rainy - glad you are feeling better but willbe good to get those tests nonetheless. i def think you should do the occ care i dont know how you manage it all youself and it will be enjoyable for all of you. your snuggle with J sounds delicious. i cant wait for that. lol at wanting a girl now - do it for the oobi my dear!
clare - bummer on the house... wow that is way over the epr hey...i hope something new comes up soon.. i am sure it will.
n started creche today, i hope it goes ok. i did take him for orientation visit on fri and he loved it and today he cruied when we left but had stopped when we were just out the door... i think he will do well there, but of course an adjustment. his big noy bed arrives on thu, cant wait!
we went out to a concert last night, had a new sitter starting... she was fab. butas soon as we got to the concert and ordered some food and drinks and were just saying how nice it is to get out... she called and N had thrown up twice.... so we raced home to settle him (she was ok but i felt we had to) and got him back to sleep and got back just for the last 5 songs... i think it is justy when he has a cold he swallows the phlegm and he always throws up. poor little guy.

Today was a sad day at school. The teacher who passed away had been teaching Yr 7 this year and last, and was Jess's Prep teacher before that. The grade 7 children were all so very upset, and of course all of the teachers as well. They've brought in a team of counsellors today so those that need to can have a quiet chat. The school is having a family liturgy on Friday for her, and we've organised for the children who were in her Prep class to release some helium balloons.
Hannah let the principal (male - she seems to like males ;)) pick her up and give her a cuddle, and he got to smile for at least a minute. It will be a tough week for him i'd imagine.
Supa - I don't think there is any right time. We could always make excuses about why we should wait. Once you have that bubba in your arms, you can't imagine life without them. I often look at my girls smiling and having fun, and think how truly blessed i am. Jess was 9 months old when i fell pregnant with Zoe. We were trying because DH wanted them close together - i would have waited. i didn't think i'd be able to cope with 2 bubbas so close together in age. I'm so glad i did though - everything has turned out beautifully. If you know that you definitlely want another - i'd say go for it.:)

well as i mentioned to arte we are looking at this other house (we saw it just before the auction of the last one). it is really pretty and backs onto a great park with a swimming hole for the dog (she is a lab x so basically could be heaven for her!). it is on a trafficy street, but the house is double glazed and the living areas are all at the back (and there is zero noise inside). so we'll see how it goes.
oh and a quick question...has anyone tried the blackmores 'conceive well' stuff? not sure if it is a waste of money (no doubt it is!), but i thought to give it a whirl...do you think i would be better off just on a normal pregnancy one? last time i took elevit but now they are saying the new blackmores pregnancy range is better cause it has the fish oil in it...

Sorry that some of you didn't have a good mothers day. Hope you remember that for Fathers Day!!! The rest of you sound like you had a good time though, MD, I'm very jealous of your super sleep in - mine only went to 7:15!! K came running up to me with my card and she gave me the best cuddles all day. We went out to a new place for brekky which was just lovely, then we walked around the botanic gardens - K was a crack up, she was reading all the plant signs!! Then she crashed in the car on the way home (unexpectedly) so we ended up parking next to the beach and read the papers for an hour, lovely.
Arte - W is such a crack up, I can't believe some of the things that come out of that little mouth!
Pap - hope N is feeling a bit better today. Shame you missed most of your concert.
Trill - what a bad timed power blackout!

Supa - a 9 year gap works well! :p Seriously, for me I think the optimal space is about 3.5-4.5 years - just because they're a little bit more independent at that age, so then you've only got one baby/toddler to manage at a time, kwim?
JaZaH - big hugs. Those poor kids at school must be shellshocked. :( I'm sure the liturgy will be very good for everyone.
Cally - wow sounds like you had a lovely day, well timed re the newspaper/beach experience LOL!

Well it seems like a lot of DHs don't get the significance of the CARD for Mother's Day??! It's pretty much the crucial element of the day isn't it?
Well I went out this morning to grab a few finishing touches for E's winter wardrobe - budget style - need some things that E can get grubby at FDC - and I cannot believe the price Target is bunging on for plain hoodies, etc?! I popped round to Kmart and the shelves were practically bare - no wonder when they are charging 50-75% of the price that Target does for basics??! *sigh* Next I need to take the worlds-most-painful 10 yo shopper to find a few things. :rolleyes: As it is she wears the same 3 things every weekend, apparently it's too difficult to go to your wardrobe and actually LOOK to see what else there is in there that might look nice?!

Hi girls..I'm back and slack. No way can I go back and catch up so please take pity on me and let me know if I've missed anything major.
Fiji was awesome. Was so nice to have time away and going with my mum and sister meant that there were some free babysitters on hand. We popped them into Kids Club a couple of times and Sarah loved it so I didn't feel too bad for dumping the poor tyke. The women over there loved her and would take off with her any opportunity they got. Which was especially nice while we were trying to eat dinner and she was squirming and squealing. We spent most days in the pool and Sarah has come away with an awesome tan. Even with sunscreen and a rashie vest. Little toad has her fathers skin tone.
Can't think of anything else to report on so will finish putting photos on fb and will pop back on tomorrow.

Kate-welcome back! Can't wait 2 hear of how u enjoyed fiji.
MD-3.5yrs I think is a good age too. That way there is no toilet training anymore + ready to fight another day-not to mention the body goes back to shape. I think I will always carry my droopy bit o'skin hanging over the scar thing. Thing is now that I have talked 2 DH about ttc#2 in a YEARS' time he was starting 2 get excited about the idea. He said 2nite why wait - may as well get it over + done with. ! Oh my g/f is 30 today + 3 mths pg with #2. Secretly she would LOVE 2 have a baby at the same time as me, today I told her I am going for an ultrasound and she jumped, but then told her it was for my finger which had a big splinter for snapping twigs for the fire. Aren't I cruel? anyway what I am trying 2 say is that there's pressure. But I shouldn't feel pressure just coz she is pg and she wants me to b, should I?
Cassius-r we the only ones not pg then? I would like 2 know if everyone is or did take elevit, I did last time.??
Jazah-ur girls sound so beautiful. I can tell u r proud of them. The liturgy will b good for everyone too.
PAP-how old do u think I am? Ha ha. I turn the big 3 ooooo this year! Secret's out! I dont reckon age matters anyway these days.

md- ikwym about target- oh and about kmart and big w being totally racked over- particularly in size 2 i find. one of the main reasons i head straight to pumpkin patch....oh, and the fact that their clothes look so HOT on my little man! LOL they're more exxy but they fit chunky lewis so well and hopefully the quality will last them through to jimmy.

clare- i reckon if you've got left over elevit, just keep taking it. both pgs for me my ob recommended elevit.

supa- dh and i both have 4year gaps b/w ourselves and our siblings and found it too large a gap when we were kids, so we wanted our kids to be close together itms? my older brothers are 4 and 5 yrs older than me, and at times i felt like an only child. we knew we were only having 2 kids so decided to just go for it and get it over and done with quickly.
arte- i think i've told you before that my all-time fav girls name is lily. but you know someone with that name...um...ok, if i was having a girl, i would call her one of the following:
isabella, chloe, olive, ruby, or if i was feeling daring- coco xoxo
gypsy- i always get jealous when i see girls in tights....might have to put jimmy in some red spotty ones....lol
well i went for an u/s and some tests yesterday. will find out results later in the week. feeling heaps betternow though so i'm feeling a bit silly, like it might've just been a bug or something...oh well.
i'm taking lewis down to the occ care centre this morning for an hour to check it out and see if we like it. if he enjoys himself we will put him in every monday morning for 3 hours, i'm so nervous!!! i hope he loves it. fingerscrossedxxoxo

Rainy ikwym i am soooo into the tights for little girls - adorable... i look at some of the outfits i had noah in when he was smaller and think... well i have to control myself now and let him look like a boy, esp with his hair!!! and his recent penchant for my handbags.... dh thinks it is funny how girly i 'accidentally' make him look LOL!
supa - for me choosing an age gap was moreabout giving us the opp to have more kids and also for us i liked that we are kinda in 'baby mode' so that doesnt have to chg. that said i have found this preg a bit hard and i am now thinking of the bedlam that awaits me. i also wonder if N has to rush through his babyhood a little?? i am an only child so dont have firm views on what works... i guess it is just what is right for every family?? i wouldnt feel pressured about your friend... if you arent preg at the same time you will havemore time/energy into being there for her and treating her bub as the special little person in your life they will be...
I forget who asked about the blackmores conceive well? i did take it for a month.. then i switched to regular preg multis... they arent that diff... i am now takinga concoction of diff supplements based on my gf who is chinese med specialist in fertility - a preg multi, extra fish oil, calcium (from 20 wks) and also zinc and vit c (more for immune system as i was so unwell at the start with the ulcer and tonsilitis)... happy to send anyone her recommendations if you like though prob better to see your own naturopath or specialist of you want to get something tailored. i feel like i take a lot but i must say it has helped me to get through everything and i am feeling good...
Clare - have you spoken to someone about your iron? mine is terrible, i dont absorb iron (blood issue) so it is often v v low... anyway the diff things out there work for diff people (there are 2 measures and you need to know which one you are low in or the combination) so it may be worth gettinga test and getting your italian homeopathy guru to take a look at it?
Rainy - so glad you are feeling better but also good you are getting it all checked out. was worried about you. i hope the occ care goes well - i am sure he will have fun. it does take a while for them to get into these things sometimes and heis likely to get upset when you leave regardles of how much he likes it... but it will be great! let us know!
kate - yay for such a great time in fiji... soundslike you all had a fab time.. i am all for taking the fam on these trips... babysitting and extra hands are good and i think it adds to the enjoyment for the kids. i know N asks for my mum ALL the time... he woudl love her to come on hols with us (if we go backto bali at the end of the yr we will ask her to come)

kate - welcome back - so glad you had an awesome time.
with the age gap issues - i think there are pros and cons for all age gaps. The trouble i'm finding the moment with the bigger age gap between Hannah and Jess and Zoe, is that it's more difficult to spend classroom time focussed on them. I can't help out with reading, because Hannah likes to talk to the teacher (male again ;)) and when I have the weekly play session in the classroom with Zoe, i spend most of the time chasing Hannah. The plus though, is that Hannah loves her big sisters and they love her.
I've got Zoe home today - found some little critters lurking in her hair this morning. I treated it straight away and killed the little rascals.
I'm hoping that I can get some cleaning done today while she's home.
