Hope you have a wonderful day
MD- Glad you are on the mend.
Thinking of MD, glad to see she still has her sense of humour and positive outlook, she is one amazing woman thats for sure.
Clare - HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Dont worry in a couple of yrs I'll be joining you on the 'other side'! hehe. As for the smack, been there done that & yes the guilt is enormous. I know what you mean, you sit back shocked & think whoa where did that come from. Dont beat yourself up too much, like you said L got over it pretty quickly. Stamp Duty is a rip off!!!!
Rainy - Oh thank god the medication is working, poor J!! Glad you have that one sorted. Wow I love AH clothes too, but I can only look/dream because the prices are through the roof. I am so into comfort clothing as well!
Arte - OMG you must have been so worried about W. What a terrible bug! Is he better now? What a scare.
Andie - Ouch, what a mission at the hospital. So glad its all sorted.
Trill - I also cringed reading about how it went into the uterus, did that not hurt!?
Noni - Fingers crossed you get another yr.
Oz - Have fun finger painting! Your pics on FB are just amazing. I would love to be near you!
As for the bbq, sorry its this weekend now. Wish me luck ahhh!!!
Set up M's toddler bed & tried her day time sleep in it today, didnt go down well so went back to the cot lol.
Does anyone know where you can buy one of those climbing gyms (like pacific creations or the ones at toys r us) for a reasonable price? They seem to start at $150 & go upwards fast, too much for me. :(
Hi to everyone else!! xox
happy birthday clare!!!
mm- have you tried ebay, they sometimes have some second hand bargains
arte- how is w going today?
i just went into a boutique hippy kidsware shop near my house with jimmy in my hug-a-bub. they stock them there, in fact it is the only carriers they stock- they have a whole shelf of the organic cotton ones. anyway, they were all making a massive fuss about me using one.the owner of the shop was saying 'oh i wanted my baby to be in one all time but i hate it, i can't get it to work'. none of them could work it out, i thought it was so funny. they all thought i was a legend! i couldn't believe that they were selling them to people and had a special display promoting them but didn't know how to use them themselves. i had to explain it all to them. toofunny! i should be earning a commission on this thing!!!!
lewis is running around with no pants on, he won't let me put them on him! he's got a really bad cough and it's waking him up constantly at night. is there anything i can give him to help?
girls did any of you end up buying one of those backpack leashes?
Rainy we have a backpack harness, I LOVE it. L often likes to wear it around the house too, he loves his little backpack. LMAO at you showing everyone how to use the HAB
MM I have been looking on ebay for play gym's. I am also asking everyone ot give L money for his birthday so we can buy some.
Clare dont beat yourself up on the smacking, I never wanted to be a smacker but have a few times. Sometimes you react before thinking.
ok, i'm jumping on ebay now to look for a backpack harness. i'm sick of him bolting on me and he refuses to go in the stroller now
lewis and i are about to make a packet of green's pink cupcakes for you md....only we're going to eat them all without you unfortunately lol xoxo
girls lewis has just thrown up everywhere! does teething make them vomit or is it something else?
Poor Lewis. Sorry rainy I have no clue about the teething vomiting. Has he got a temp? Besides the vomit is he otherwise ok?
Yep Rainy we have a backpack harness thingo, M loves wearing it but hates when we control it, which has defeated its purpose!!! M is just headstrong iykwim, so dont let that put you off. I'm unsure if teething causes vomiting, we've never had that symptom? Hope it isnt a bug!! As for the HAB, I had one initially for M & I couldnt figure it out so put it back on ebay lol. I can imagine its a great carrier though once you have the hang of it.
Oz, they look awesome dont they. I can imagine M spending alot of time playing on one, she loves climbing. They are just so expensive its crazy!! However a few bargains going on ebay but the ones here in Perth have like 30 people bidding on them, I dont stand a chance lol.
Girls I found the cutest little plastic cubby in Kmart on the weekend, marked down to $100. However meanie DH wouldnt let me buy it, because he wants to build her one. Thats great but knowing DH, he wont ever get around to it ahhhhh!
does anyone wanna take my second gtt for me tmw? i know im gonna fail anyway i just dont wanna turn up at 8:30 and twiddle my thumbs for a few hours boooooorrrriiiinng!!
yep rainy teething can cause vomiting but generally not persistant vomiting iykwim.. just keep an eye on him to make sure there arent other symptoms as in non teething related ones..
Hi gals, sorry have been mia, havn't even been lurking! Slack i know.
Posting so i can try and jump back in. xx
Rainy, W has a little puke sometimes if he is teething but if it is consistant then it is probably a bug. Hope it isn't like the one that W has.
MM, did you talk to your MIL? How did that go?
Ange, do you have internet again now? You have me more worried about having two - W was a perfect dream baby, now I am terrified of having a screaming nightmare kid lol
W seems a lot better tonight, he was talking again and playing and even managed to eat a bit of tea without puking it. So hopefully we are over the hump, it has been a long few days. There is nothing sadder than your little kid heaving and spewing and saying 'mum help pleeeeeeeease' when you can't do anything about it.
The scan went well, only lasted 11 minutes and they give you a copy of a dvd but no print outs. I would have been dissappointed if it was my first pregnancy, they didn't spend much time at all. I am sure with W they measured eye sockets and everything, this time they just made sure there were arms and legs and sent me on my way. Didn't find out the gender but replayed the dvd at home to try to spy something - not that I can make out anything.
well he only spewed once so i'm hoping it's just teeth. i can see 6 popping through atm
arte- glad w is doing a bit better
Arte - Oh how heartbreaking of W pleading with you! Ahhh so glad he is on the mend. As for your scan, bummer they rushed through it but at least all is well. Wow so now I am looking forward to your due date, wonder what it is!!
Rainy - 6!!! Poor thing! I wouldnt blame him for spewing! :(
Falguni - Welcome back!
Noni - Whats gtt? Must be a pregnancy thing but I cant remember it lol.
Just put M to bed in her 'big girls bed', thought she had dropped off & next thing I know there she is in front of me. Scared the crap outta me. As soon as she realised that i knew she had gotten out of bed, she turned and ran back & threw herself onto her new bed. So have re tucked her in, been 10 mins, we will see how she goes. How cute is that though!? Aw love her.
Hi girls
Well I am in melb! Staying at southbank if anyone wants 2 stalk me lol.
After u guys spoke about dfo spencer st I have convinced DH that I am going there.
Rainy-oh wow 6 teeth! No wonder he spewed.
MM-i was just looking at backpack harnesses at the airport as she kept running off. I used 2 say goodbye + she would run back but not yest. They r $35 risk it may npot work. T is also headstrong.
Noni-good luck!
MD-so glad u r recovering ok. Too bad re 2 ops. Noice on the boys!! Milk it...
Arte-poor W I am glad he is on the mend.
Dh not happy re txting... Bfn
Man I am soooo frickken bummed that I missed your birthday Clare. So anyways here it is: BELATEDLY - Happy Birthday you Gorgeous Woman!!! :happybirthday: Trust me you don't really have any trepidation about being as young as you are.
SupaB - sorry but I am PMSL that you got yourself a sty! Hope you've got some good ointment or something for it. xxx
Clare, OMG on all the hallways! But just think they'd prolly need a team of servants to keep it properly clean. Though I sooooo could go a mansion and domestic staff. I'd have no problems ringing a bell to make the maid come running however many times a day! LOL Brrrr on the freezy weather. Our gas heater hasn't started (prolly air in the line) so waiting for the man to come and fix it today.
Arte, OMG I hope little W is so much better today, he sounded so sick! Poor mite. I'm sure you made all the difference by being with him and looking after him so well when he was sick. xxx
AFM, I got home yesterday afternoon but I literally didn't sleep in hospy for both nights so I'm still a bit wired today. Surgeon did a really tidy job on my breast, they've sort of cut from behind so that it looks pretty good from the front even tho they took a huge chunk out. :) I still have a drain in and the nurses will come for the next few days, but now that I'm home I expect I will feel pretty radically better once I catch up on more sleep.
Man I'm still a bit confused, I can't work out which bits of the thread I've read and which bits I haven't. I don't seem to be able to start at the top of the page and read down, maybe I should start at the end and read backwards. Anyhoo I will post again when my brain has come to grips with it. Can you tell i'm still on the GOOD drugs. ROFL.
:dance::dance::dance::dance: MD IS BAAACKKKKKK!!!:dance::dance::dance::dance:
sorry babe. got excited. glad you're back BTW....
how come you couldnt sleep at the hossy? i mean, plastic sheets and machines that go *ping* are so conducive for sweet lullabies LOL! bet your Dh and girls are glad to have you home too.
oohh aahh better get the heater sorted babe! i dont know about there, but here it was frikkin' freezing last night.
yep, i know i can deal with domestic help! in fiji we had a live in house-lady (they call them house-girls but i found that way too far), we also had a gardener and a cook. it was sweet.
Rainy: hope you guys arent frozen solid up on the mountain! bbrrrrrrrrrr. Leila has done a spew for teething. but they are more like a bigger version of a 'posset' rather than a power vomit IYKWIM.
SB: ahh, you will love DFO! how come you guys are in melb? is this a nice family holiday? or a work thing?
MM: at least you have a man that could build a cubby if he wanted. my DH KNOWS that is way beyond his skills LOL!
Arte: i reckon that totally sucks about the scan. i mean, seriously, you trekked all that way with a sick little man to see your new person and all they could spare was 11 minutes?! and you're right, i remember with leila is was close to one hour and they checked EVERYTHING. like the cord blood flow, how many bones were in each toe and hand etc. like MM said, it's good that all is good with bubs, but still a bit of time to gaze at your new creation is worth every second! sorry, started ranting there huh?! LOL!
the DVD does sound cool though. we just got print outs with ours.
AFM: all good here. business as usual. DH is going crazy with cluckiness i can barely contain the poor man LOL! i think it has to do with good friends of ours having just had a baby and another lot newly pregnant.
we went to a good friends place for birthday dinner last night, ordered FANTASTIC pizzas and got a chocolate mud cake from brunettis! it was awesome cause this friend and i share the same birthday so ppl went all out and we even had candles! yippeee! needless to say i am nursing a sore head after 8 bottles of wine between 4 ppl were had.
WELCOME BACK MARYDEAN, WE MISSED YOU!!
Sorry that you didnt get much sleep though, guess you will be nanna napping during the day to try & catch up. Are you sore much, or are the drugs keeping it at bay? I'm still so angry that an awesome person like you has to go through this.
Clare - I hear you on the clucky hubby. I am clucky enough as it is, but DH is extremely, extremely clucky. Last night he rushed home from work, as he has figured out my cycle & I should be ovulating around now, so he rushed home to make a baby basically. Sorry if tmi!?! As clucky as I am, I am ok to wait a bit longer & wont be dissapointed if nothing comes of this months trying to concieve, but at the same time I'd be happy if it did happen iykwim? Just going with the flow. As for you, take your time if you feel you need it, I'm sure your hubby knows & respects that, but once you have a child & realise how special they are, its very hard not to want more. I'm sure he's just excited to know that one day you can have another bub just like your precious L. 8 bottles of wine, I'd be hospitalised lol.
Supa - If T is very headstrong, the harness probably wont work. It just makes M chuck a major tanty when she realises that we are basically controlling her. Sorry to dash your hopes!!!
We made it through the night in the toddler bed, yippee!! Just took M for her first toddler dance/gym class, she loved it. Was funny watching the kiddies have a dance, & it was Hi 5 so of course M went nutso for it.
Hi ladies, trying to have a catch up now but I'm still not too sure how the braino's working so if I don't make sense, you'll forgive me.
Rainy, I'm loving your pink cupcake action! Hopefully tho I'm now a woman who is entirely funky-cell-free...stay tuned on that one. Is L ok, no more pukes? Oh (*suddenly stricken by illogical idea*) I hope it wasn't some sort of pink cupcake reaction???? :o that wld be terrible.
Go MazzaMum on the cubby house! We are HOT on the TRAIL on ebay as we speak!! We can't really afford it but we said that all the way thru with DD1 and we never got one for her (:() so maybe the truth is we can't afford not to! LOL OMG I'm like a genius shopping woman on these drugs aren't !? Quick better buy it now before I sober up. ;p There is *no* way we'd ever be able to DIY one so it's gotta be ebay all the way. NOW I'm really confused, is it your birthday too? Happy birthday??!
Supa - do it do it do it! Get the harness. We've got a little doggy one, it's magic, but then I saw in the mother's direct catalogue there's a pink poodle model too (!) So now I'm thinking I might need to get a spare for the other car just so we can have the poods...! Enjoy your melb time.
R any of you MELB girls gonna txt Supa for a catch up?? BTW I am thinking of having a Tupperware party next week (may specials are WILD) so if you're back u could come!!! If not we'll still be on for coffee SOON. Supa B, not melb girls. Unless you wanna pop over anyway LOL.
Noni - how did the GTT go? Pity it doesn't stand for GinTonicTest hey? And what about the house inspection? All good i hope, sounds like you are v. happy there.
Anyone heard from PP?
Rainy re cough - the Vicks baby balsalm will help. Keep the heater on in his room. Also think about dragging the steam vaporiser thingy out. xxx
Trill, Missy E loves doing drawings too - happy to use pencils, crayons, pens, textas whatever. Loves it for even longer when H sits down with her, they do pictures together sometimes. LOL i'm running out of room on my corkboard for all the artwork. We have these tadoodle things that are shaped like a crayon, work like a texta but look like paint on the paper. fantastic, highly recommend them.
Cally did I read your DH is spending more than $900 on a cricket bat...?? WTF? Kevin Rudd would be very proud.
OK AFM, district nurse came today - she was very nice - looks like I'll have to keep the drain in for a few more days. Heater men came and started the heater (toasty toesies YAY!) and DH seems to be on some kind of obsessive errand/shopping jag since it's payday and I'm too high to supervise any of his spending. Tho in his defence he has tried explaining it a few times to me. PMSL. So I could have a new irrigation system but no food come Monday.
Hugs to JaZaH. xxx
Well that's it for me. I'm pretty certain I've missed a few ppl. I've missed a few days. In fact there's a good chance I've been abducted by aliens who have conducted anatomical experiments and left some kind of bionic vein implant thingy. :p I'll let y'all know when I start receiving tranmissions from the mother ship.
