Kate, I *love* your party theme - it will be wild and I bet S will look sooooo cute in her costume. I have these wicked bug lollies I do - you ice the biscuit whatever colour, then stick a huge red smartie (yaknow the big ones) Then you get a black icing tube, and colour in a little black head, then you draw a line straight thru the middle and add black dots. It looks just like a ladybird. You can do buzzy bees using a yellow smartie, spiders (using a brown smartie- easy just add legs) and of course 5 little smarties in a row make a caterpillar. Chuck in a few smartie flowers and trust me those bickkies will be a *winner*.
For Missy E's party this year I wanted to do a Wotwots theme (cos there's 2 of them and the pink and blue would be really easy to follow ) BUT there is not a shred of Wotwot merch out there - though there's some downloads (ala print & colour) on the website. So it might have to be ITNG. I'm thinking it would be pretty easy to ice some cupcakes in daisies like the one s on UD's dress, and I've got an idea around serving little hotdogs (you know made with the mini bake-at-home rolls & ****tail frankfurts) in little blue paper/serviette boats...? You can get sets of small plastic ITNG characters - it would be pretty easy to do a cake and add those for a decoration, kwim?
Clare, um landscaping is going veeeeery slooooooowly. We're too busy *****ing and fighting with one another. Suspected cause - complete & chronic lack of DTD??! DH has *finally* gone out with the trailer to get some sleepers so we might even get *a* single garden bed done by tomorrow arvo (!!!) Which is ok because we're feeling pretty poor at the moment so it has to be done in stages anyway. Exciting news - 2 silver birches that we thought were terminally dead have started to show signs that they *might* be budding...DH was sh*tty about that too because he really wanted to go out there yesterday and chop them down and rip them out. PMSL
Supa LOLing about your DH's office hands. Classic! My DH is the total opposite, he's freakishly keen to get free poo whenever he can.
Rainy - I was ROFLing about your DH's vocab. Classic comment, funny lady. Love that your pony was called Lamington. We have horse stables at the end of our road, and when DD1 was little we used to pretend we knew what their names where and we'd talk about them whenever we went past. Of course every single name was food based (easy to remember cos of their colour) - we had brownie, snowball, lamington, and ginger. LOL!
Kate - noooo you're not a bad bb friend. It's just cos ppl like me talk too much :redface: If I'd just shut up more it wouldn't take so long to catch up. Sorry! :hug: Your FDC lady sounds exxxxxcellent. I will forever be thankful to DD1's first FDC lady who taught her how to blow her nose properly! LOL they learn so much, it's such an exciting time!

md- i love that you used to pretend you knew the horses' names. that is too cute! i used to be obsessed with ponies and used to always write 'i love ponies' in steam in the bathroom mirror and then deny it was me to my parents...
ITNG theme sounds great..how will you incorporate MP's sponges though?
there's a distinct lack of dtd around here atm too...

Makka Pakka - hmm not so sure about the sponges - maybe we could have some baked new potatoes stuffed with some creamcheese - they look like little Makka Pakka stones...???! LOL

hi everyone
dh took n out for an hour so i have a little bit of free time (i did the same for him this morning) - so here i am with a yummy muesli bar, cup of tea and BB!
i lived oppostive a massive horse paddock and as much as i was scared of them when i was little i used tovisit them every weekend. though iw as told all their real names and none were as good as cream puff or lamington (which is gorgeous!).
kate - good to hear frm you and dont feel bad - we just love hearing from you when you can. S sounds like she is going so well. LOL absence does make TTC hard - but sounds like you are relaxed about it for now which is good. love the ladybug theme and ITNG MD sounds good too - must say your desc of the biccies sounds way to nigella for my skill level! i need to think about a theme for N now, feel a little negligent it hasnt been on my mind much.. oops. maybe i will do some sort of farmyard theme as he is animal obsessed right now. little dougnuts could be Makka Pakkas sponge? though the potatoes would be healthier...
Clare - i am also bummed we arent away... did you plan a fun weekend> btw i love coll childrens farm, it is near my mums place so we go there alot and N loves it. esp when those MASSIVE pigs jump up the fence!
all is ok here - we had a trip to the dr yest as N had a terrible wheeze - i so hope my little man isnt developing asthma... (i am asthmatic) - canberra is SO BAD in winter! anyway they couldnt properly diagnise bc he went mental as soon as the dr came near him (he does this now and so they can hardly examine him) so she couldnt hear the wheeze properly. had to do dimetapp (never done any drugs like that for him before) and also ventolin and he was a lot better this morning... but the wheeze is back this arvo. lots of steam and keeping him warm... poor little guy, it is quite scary. anyway does anyone have any tips for keeping them calm at the dr? we have a booka bout the dr which he loves and he knows what they do there (take the temp, listen to ears etc) and LOVES telling me the things and getting the book read... but get him near ANY dr and it is GAME ON! makes it v hard to get hin treated properly...
I hope Callys shopping is going well. DH also got some stuff in the sales so it is only ME who hasnt got anything now... Even the unborn child...
