Sherie pmsl at the old man, I am just picturing it.
MD I have only had to do one feed while we are out so far and it was near myer so I just went into the parents room. I hope you get somewhere with having a chair put in. It would be pretty funny though to see you pop open a camping chair in Aldi and start feeding, Aldi probably sell them there you could always just "borrow one" for a few minutes lol.
-
renee - must be hard thinking about leaving rory do u miss work though?? are you going to put him in daycare?? after working in long day care id go for something like family day care less kids and less stress on them.. though i looked after 2 and up so not really sure what its like in babies rooms...
thanks for the info on milk rash sherie - pretty sure thats what it is that and maybe a bit of heat rash as well poor poppet :( lol @ your old man story gotta do what u gotta do though
md - yep our dr bulk bills for everyone we did take her bit she didn't have as much of it then thats why i was asking.. no fever phew.. lol @ your camping chair @ aldi.. problem with her fave toy is that we got given it and i dnt know where i would get another one like it lol might have to start introducing some of her other toys (shes got millions) see if she can get attatched to a few diff ones lol...
katie - needles this thursday does that mean hes 2mths old???
-
Ozstar - we got that storm this morning too. It was some of the loudest thunder I have ever heard. I guess we will have to get the vaccinations done next week. Not looking forward to that.
Sherie, I don't have a stop-them-wriggling-er, but I might give the muslin barrier a try. I have been putting him in the pram during the day as it has a slight incline. I am very envious of Alister's happy sleep pattern.
MD, I was in a cafe with my two BIL the other day waiting for DH and Will started to cry. There was nowhere to go so I had to feed in front of them. I don't mind strangers seeing me feed, but I find it weird to feed in front of male family members. I did score a fantastic seat at Borders the other day, but I think the girl next to me was a bit annoyed by all the slurping noises though.
Noni - Will had red spots all over his sides and back the other day but the midwife said it was just a heat rash.
-
I'm with Noni, Renee, I'm a big family day care fan - having said that you've got to chose your carer well - I've had a dodgy one that ended in grief. Mostly have all been brilliant and they practically end up like family members.
Arte - I agree male family members- and male co-workers - eeeew! Will have to hide in an office somewhere to feed if I go to morning tea at work one day!!
-
md my cousin used to go to family day care with this lovely lady who used to send home cakes and things lol she just loved the children and their families and as u said become a part of the family.. there are some greak workers in childcare centres though its all about doing your research..

Hello Ladies
Apologies for not getting online - i believe I have missed the whole No#4 thread! Good to hear you girls are still chatting madly away.
I do hope everyone has been well. I can't believe DD is 5 wks old on Wed. As pple have been telling me time flies - they weren't wrong! lol.
Been lots busy here and struggling to get online. Got an assignment due (for TAFE on 12 Nov) just found out. yikes. lol. better get onto it.
DD is going well. Lil fatty has a round stomach which sticks out at the sides when she is lying on her back. I am a little concerned because she is only feeding for like 10 mins per side. Does this mean she is only just getting the foremilk and no hindmilk? Also can someone confirm do the letdowns of milk come every 7 or 14 mins? When she is feeding I can't physically 'feel' the letdown is this normal?
I will get around to reading the posts and having a go at some personals.
-
SB Logan only has 10 min each side, he is emptying each breast. Some babies are just quicker then others. Is she putting on weight and having lots of wet nappies?
I was in the processing of applying to run a family day care when I found out I was pregnant. It is something I would still like to do when Logan is older. They are great places for kids to be.
Noni yep Logan hit the 8 week mark today. I cant beleive how quickly it has gone.
We are getting warnings of another storm this afternoon, sounds like it might be a big one.
-
Hi SupaB! I think little Miss is just becoming very efficient at feeding now. There are different schools of thought about the foremilk/hindmilk - some say that the foremilk comes first and then the hindmilk and others will say there is no separation and it all comes out the same - make of that what you will LOL. If her little tummy is starting to look fat then I think she's doing just fine :) Good luck with your assignment too - knowing you, you will ace it!
Arte, I was also a bit funny about feeding in front of male relatives too. LOL at the slurping noises - he must have been enjoying his tucker ;)
If I had to ever use daycare, I would chose family daycare over a centre anyday. The children really seem to thrive on it and they have organised playgroups for the daycare mums and that too, so the kids do get to interract with other children outside their daycare group.
-
Thanks girls. Wow it is amazing to think she went from feeding for 1 hr down to 1/2 hr! After she has fed for like 7-10 mins she grunts and screws up her face and pulls her head away from my bb. ouchie! Is this because there is no milk coming out? and I have to 'relax' to make the next download come thru?
I am thinking of going to see a lactation consultant
-
oh no I wouldnt put Rory into daycare. I think he is too young and I dont like the idea of having someone I dont know look after him. My mum has Wednesdays off and has offered over and over again to look after him for me. I might speak to my MIL too, maybe mum and her could alternate weeks??
After turning them down when they wanted me to do 2 days a week Dwayne told me he wasnt too keen on me going back to work so soon.
Just got back from the shops. My brother bought Rory the cutest little Christmas outfit :) And I bought some hand painted glass christmas boubals (sp, not even close), I have always wanted them but could never afford it. Im going to make it a Christmas tradition to buy a few every year. ohhh im soo excited about Christmas this year, its going to be magic!
Rory was sooooooo good when he was getting his hands & feet cast! He must of liked the feel of the paste because he kept smiling ang gurgling the whole way through. The woman was amazed at how alert and focused he was. She said he must of already been here before in another life. Funny she said that because someone else told me that too.
-
Renee, that's great that you have family to look after him. So what do you think you will do then? When the cast is all finished, you will have to post a pic of it for us.
Supa, do you think it's wind? She probably gets a big belly full of milk and then the grunt is a 'man, i'm so full' type thing?
-
SupaB, Elisabeth has been doing a similar thing, pulling away - ouch - I watch for it now and try to detach her before it hurts. Yes I have to concentrate on relaxing for the next let down as well - a few deep breaths and dropping my shoulders usually works. Not sure about the timing of letdowns - not sure it'd be helpful to time them anyway?? You'll know you've had a let down as she'll start swallowing more frequently - not all women get a let-down sensation (tho I do and it's so strong it hurts LOL)! Seeing an LC might help you to feel more confident about what you're doing.
Oooh Renee you'll have to start Rory on the finger painting soon! :D
-
good morning everyone- finally get a chance to read some posts and join in this new thread. sometimes lewis just won't let me put him down and it's impossible to get anything done at all. have skimmed over this thread- sometimes it moves so fast doesn't it? you miss a couple of days and so much happens!!
we got through the weekend with our 7 guests from sydney! everyone had a great time and loved lewis. he was very well behaved the whole time everyone was here and was happy to be passed around from person to person and wasn't upset at all by loud music and talking etc.- the boys can get a bit rowdy after a few beers!! lewis only really whinged a couple of times -mostly when he needed to be changed. everyone thought he was the cruisiest baby ever and was very impressed by him....then.....on sunday night after everyone had left he fully cracked it!! i think it was just all too much for him and he got over tired. it was hard cos i was extremely tired too and the house was a mess and dp was hungover...so i had a big cry and got a bit emotional and we all had a big cuddle and it was ok. it's just very different now because my needs don't come first anymore. lewis is the most important thing and it feels like there's no time for me anymore and i can't just drop the bundle and crack it cos he needs me all the time iykwim? i have a whole new appreciation for my own parents now. i really don't think i ever understood what they had done for me.....
anyway i'm feeling a lot better today and am off to my friend's house for lunch.i'm still a little nervous about breast feeding in front of people i know- especially other mothers who are more experienced than me cos i think they're gonna tell me i'm doing it wrong or something. will be nice to get out of the house though and catch up with her. i've even put a bit of make up on for the first time in a month!! woo hoo....and perfume too...oh how my life has changed lol
sorry about selfish post- i can't remember everything i've read- but hello to everyone and i hope you're all having a nice day with your beautiful bubs. queenie i hope you're giving birth right now!! lol
gotta run- lewis is just waking up. might try to feed him before i go out xoxo

Morning Ladies,
Well Sorry I have been MIA but Xavier has been really sick with temps up to 39. The DR said he has a throat infection and as well as teething however he has been a lot better since yesterday thankgod. There is nothing worse than seeing one of your babies sick. DH Finally arrived home on Sunday much to our delight. Olivia is fine and I have had to rebook her needles till this thursday. Well Hello to everyone and I will catch up later.
Have a Wonderful Day
-
Nah Gracie - still staggering around with one comfortable baby in there, one hot Thai curry (with pineapple)/walk/DTD later! Gawd I am so BORED - it is just hard to get any motivation.
Yet another friend just had their baby - and yet another emergency c/s, but they are thankfully both OK after a very hairy experience. (4 c/s out of 5 friends, only me left to go) VV (vaginal vibes)!!!
MD I was going to suggest you attach a little seat to Mavis but of course, the pram!! Phil & Ted's have every insane attachment under the sun, wonder if a BF stool is one of them?? Now there's a marketing opportunity!
Gracie - Lewis' reaction sounds exactly like mine after a boys' weekend! what a patient little man for putting up with it all! (and you of course ;))
Hi Supa, long time no speak! xx
-
poor queenie- i remember those days-the pineapple/hot curry/dtd all to no avail. so frustrating! unfortunately mine went on for 2 weeks. i know what you mean about friends with c/s. i reckon i'm one of the only few of my mates who had their baby vaginally. sending you big vv. just stand your ground. my ob knew that i would only have a c/s as an absolute last resort so gave me longer and more of a chance to dilate tham it sounds like some of my friends were offered. lots of vv heading your way xox
-
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV, Queenie!!!!! I love your idea of a flick-out bfing stool on the pram, better not say anything to DH or there will be another DIY nightmare in progress at my house! Speaking of which, did all the painting get finished? I can't remember...
Gracie well done for surviving the guests and even better enjoying yourself! Yes it's always a balancing act between your needs and children's needs but you get better at balancing the two as time goes on so that everyone can enjoy themselves!
Jazmum you'll be proud, I finally got my HAB working today! All good...bit tricky getting off as E wanted a feed and I got tangled up LOL!
Leanne, hope little Xavier is feeling better soon! Still no signs that E is coming down with lurgie :crossfingers:.
Successful clinic visit yesterday arvo, Miss E now weighs in at a hefty boomba 5.25 kg. The other nurse came in to goo over how gorgeous she is (of course) and they all seem to think she has really nice skin....I bet they say that to all the mums tho ;).
-
LOL Marydean my doctor told me that about Rory this morning :) I wish I had Rory's skin haha. Little Mr is now 5.06 kg. My dr didnt seem to concerned with my stomach cramps when I eat or that I had the runs. He wasnt even concerned that I had started bleeding again with clots....Hmm. Oh and he was more than happy for me to try for a VBAC if I fell pregnant in under two years. He just warned that they wont let me labour as long as I did with Rory.
Im going to try out doing one day a week. I am going to give it up until Christmas to see how I go and if I dont like it them ill let them know. Its going to be good to have a little extra $$$ for Christmas.
Gracie - My hat goes off to you. I would loose my mind if I had that many guests over haha
-
Leanne, hope J and O don't catch the throat bug (or you or DH). I am dreading the day that Will gets sick.
MD, how do you feed the Gaviscon to E? I have tried a syringe, an eyedropper and the medicine dummy but hardly any actually goes in him. He dribbles out most of it and he won't suck the dummy. Then he gags on the yucky taste.
-
Thanks for the VV MD!! The painting isn't finished, but all the undercoating (well, almost) is done & it's white like the topcoat, so Noone Need Ever Know Unless They Look Too Hard. The linen cupboard does need a second coat, but I'm not getting up the ladder at this stage and I'm too fussy to let anyone else do it! Actually quite like painting - well, will def like it more when bending down doesn't trigger reflux ROFL! I am intrigued by your DH's DIY talents - surely there has to be a website out there with pics, put together by admiring (or long-suffering) partners! It astonishes me what they can make out of Chux wipes, duct tape and a bucket.
Got cabin fever and felt much better after taking myself out for a delicious cappuccino and evil choc slice at my fave cafe; sat there for an hour chatting with people wandering past with prams and then knocked off some more Christmas shopping, so feeling much more mellow now in an energised kinda way! Preggi Bellies tonight
Renee could it be your period? Don't hesitate to get a second opinion - ever. BTW Rory is now heavier than our little Burmese girl, but not as heavy as our boy!
-
Art- I hope J and O dont catch it as it was just terrible seeing X going through it.
Christmas --- ugggh I dont even want to think about it. I have only bought Olivia 1 thing so far but nearly finished buying the boys pressies although like last year I bet I get caught up in all the hype and keep buying until chrissy day for them.lol... I havent even thought about buying for family yet.
Renee and MD- Good to see your bubbas doing well.
-
Arte, the two ways that have worked are getting E to suck on her dummy and poking the tip of the syringe just into the side of her mouth (bit tricky) and as she sucks you squeeze it in, you can do the same thing by getting him to suck your finger with the syringe too. The other thing is the medicine cup dummy thing. First few times it didn't work at all until I twigged it was too cold, so I buzz it in the microwave for a couple of seconds and she drinks it all down - the warmer it is the quicker she drinks it. Well 15 ml anyway, haven't had any luck getting a full 30ml into her. The 15 ml seems to be doing the trick so I've given up trying to get the extra amount in. PS the gagging can be simply by having it in the mouth and not swallowing, rather than from the taste. HTH
ETA - Queenie, you might notice that DIY and nightmare were words used together - latest example, he "fixed" the door lock on my car and now the door handle is falling off LOL. I hire tradespeople whenever I can!
-
hi everyone! how do you guys find the time to get on?!?!?! i've been wanting to get on, read and post, but just can't seem to find the time!!!
renee, am healing nicely from c/s...i think. it's really been smooth sailing for me that i forget that i should be taking it easy and end up overdoing it and then having niggly pains and then worrying about the pains. *duh! oh, had some inflamation above the stitches first week and took some anti-biotics after seeing the gp and it's gone down...i think. tummy still feels quite weird though. can't wait til my tummy's back to what it was....oops! that's not going to happen is it. *sigh.
we had our first night out without max last week. went and saw nabucco at qpac. i was comfortable with MIL watching over her so it wasn't too stressy. first time apart from my little girl and i survived!!! have to admit that i did think of her quite a bit while watching the opera.
hayley, although i've just been to see the lactation consultant and she was very helpful, i'm still topping max up with formula. so, she's a mix BF and FF baby. :) even the consultant said that i'd need to continue with the top up now coz' i wouldn't have enough supply since it has not been stimulated enough in the past. i can, supposedly, work on increasing supply and i will try that but, will see.
on FF, what formula are you giving to the little ones? we've been using karicare gold plus (or something like that). just because that was what she was given at the hospital although they had the bottle ones and not powder....so just bought the same.
sherie, i've been getting HEAPS of smiles out of max...unfortunately, i think it's all wind.
md, got good tips but they're probably old news to you. gave me a pamphlet too for some drug that can be taken to increase breast milk supply. since i've got nothing against FF, i don't think i'll go the drug route to get more breast milk. if i do run out, then i'll go full FF. on tips, just in reading the signs like when she starts getting fidgety, that means she's not getting any milk anymore...so she suggested i squeeze the breast to help milk flow down. tried it and it seemed to work.
gracie, not comfy with feeding outside the house too...that's why i haven't done it. :) since i top up with formula, i bring a bottle with me when we go out and give her a bottle...maybe that's why i don't have enough milk. :)
leanne, hope xavier gets all better soon.
VV to you queenie!!!!
ok...gotta check on the little princess.
-
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and i'm glad i'm not alone with the formula feeding. I went to a meet up organised by the hospital last week and I was the only one FF, felt very out of place especially when one of the midwives asked me my reasons for FF.
Fianne - We are using S-26 gold. Only reason we chose this one is because we went down to chemmart (after a horrible night of me trying to breastfeed with my toes clenched up in pain) and there was a child health nurse there and she recommended this particular brand. I assume they are all pretty much the same?? We've also been getting lots of smiles out of Maddie, just makes me melt!
Renee - Rory is a little cutie. Just had a look at your baby shower pics, we also played the 'guess the size of my belly' game hehe fun times. And wow you got lots of handy pressies.
Gracie - Isnt it funny how we have no time these days for a bit of makeup and perfume!! I feel like a real feral at the moment. My mum has offered to take Maddie off my hands so I can go get my hair done. Might have to take her up on that offer this w/e, my hair is in bad shape.
Has anyone bought the hug a bub carrier? I'm on the hunt for a baby sling/carrier and most of the reviews I've read are saying the HAB is excellent. I think its either that or the Baby Bjorn, i'm just worried about how hot they get in summer.
Taking Maddie for our first walk now. Trying to get back into exercise, need to tone up this stomach! I really want to get back into body combat...but maybe its a bit too soon? I did the jump test, kinda felt like my insides were going to come out! Gosh they are so right when they say your body is never the same after having a baby.
To everyone that i've missed a personal reply to, sorry, hope you are all well and enjoying motherhood! :)
-
Also i just added pics of Maddie and my pregnant self into my gallery if anyone wants to check them out!
-
Farout Hayley, did you kind of feel like you had to justify your reasons when the midwife asked you that...or did she ask in a sympathetic way? I'm with you on feeling feral - my workmates want me to visit them with E but i have to get my haircut first!!! I've got a HAB - it's very comfy but I'm not sure how it will go when we're out and about since I'm still finding it tricky to tie. WE also have an original Baby Bjorn - easy on and off but not so comfy. I also *accidently* bought a ring sling on ebay today - I was checking them out and it is purple so *WHOOPS* I pressed the "buy it now" button LOL. I can tell DH is going to say "Don't you have a sling already?"! Gorgeous photos of a gorgeous lil Maddie! :D
Fianne, I'm glad you've been healing up well and got your wound sorted out quick-smart! It sounds like your visit to the LC has boosted your confidence in what you're doing which is good. Well done getting out with the grownups for an evening out!
-
Hey everyone! Just a quicky before I bath the kids and get them to bed (I will be back later though)
I have always used lactogen by Nestle. My mum used it for us kids and I used it for all of my older kids when I put them onto FF (not by choice, I have always been very bad at being a 'cow' ;) ) I have never had troubles with constipation etc either. It is the cheapest one available, but I can't fault it at all.
Also got the new car today too !!!!! I haven't got it at home though, DH took it to work tonight.
-
we might have avoided aresonic hour today lol think its partlyt because its cooler and her rash irritates her more in the heat but as well we took her to the shops in the car and then she was in the bjorn while doing groceries... might have to take her for a walk in the avos or something now that its daylight savings if it can avoid the ungodly aresonic hour haha...
sherie congrats on the new car :)
md - lol at *accidently* buying a sling
haley - maddie is georgeous!!! was the mw nice about asking you??? the midwives at the hospy were nice when i asked to try formula because they had tried to help me and seen what id been going through and no one could get her to feed... the gp just asked was i ok with that making sure i wasnt upset or dissapointed but the community health nurse said ohhhh isnt it a shame your not breastfeeding her... not in a nice way at all!!!
fianne - we are using nestle nan gold.. we started on normal karicare coz thats what the hospital started her on then had reflux problems and went to karicare ha ar.. then after a while that stopped working and the gp recommended this one so we tried it and have been on it almost a week now seems to be going alright fingers crossed...
leanne - hope j and o dnt catch the bug and x heals up quick smart
queenie - sending lots of vvs your way vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
arte - when i have to give medicine to Ash i squeeze her cheeks and put the syringe in as far back as i can without chocking her and put it in bit by bit.. some still comes out but much less...
rennee - gl on the work thing hope it works out and its always good to have extra $$$ at this time of year!!!
-
Hey everyone
Noni good work avoiding arsenic hour, I hope that a walk in the arvo can keep it at bay.
Sherie congrats on the new car, thats supa exciting. Whattype of car did you get?
Marydean you sound like your as bad as I am with ebay. I "accidently" buy stuff all the time lol.
Hayley Maddie is adorable. Dont worry about what others think about how you feed your baby, so long as she is happy and healthy it doesnt matter how she is fed.
Fianne well done getting out of the house for the night. Sounds like a lovely night.
Queenie sending you loads and loads of VV's.
Renne good luck with work. If your still worried about down stairs then get a second opinion.
Leanne hope Xavier gets better soon and that the others dont get sick.
Logan has been unsettled today and has just wanted to be held, so I got nothing done. I have a huge crack on one nipple that just wont get better, I am using a sheild which Logan doesnt like much but hopefully it lets the crack heal. Better go and clean the kitchen, then I am going to make a big cuppa and veg out.
-
HEY MD
Sorry gals just trying to get hold of her.. MD im on messenger looking for you =) xx
-
I'm back again!
Katie, we got a Holden Captiva LX, it just looks so lush I'm scared to let the kids in it LMAO I don't want it trashed yet. Gosh I hope you can get the crack to heal soon. Now the weather is warmer you might have to get about with your boob hanging out for a while. Do you think Logan not liking the nipple shield has upset him?
Noni, did Asha stay settled for you tonight? Gee you do a great job getting her to have the medicine. I hate giving it to them and I think my nervousness makes them worse.
Marydean, I am avoiding ebay like the plague ATM. The CC has 0 on it and I know if I go there I will buy something and it's best if I just don't go there LOL. I'm saving up for Christmas shopping.
Hayley, how was the walk hun? I wish I lived in town so I would be more inclined to walk - its so boring here. I have a kapoochi pouch that I use sometimes and I find it really helpful if you just need it for a little while. Don't ever feel that you have to justify yourself to anyone about the choices you've made - you're her Mum and you know what's best and no one has the right to ask you for a reason.
Fianne, When I had no milk this time round, I knew there were drugs I could take for it, but to me that's just as artificial as using formula anyway, plus there was no guarantee it would even work considering there was zilch to start with. If you really want to increase your BM though, just put her to the breast as often as you can (without making yourself sore) and that will stimulate milk production without having to take anything. Or there is a recipe on here for an activite milk drink (like milo it is) and that apparently works wonders.
Leanne, how is Xavier tonight? I hope his fever has broken and he is improving. I also hope the other two don't get it. I had a run of two weeks with the older kids getting sick with sore throats etc and it aint fun.
Renee, Rory is doing wonderfully! How do you feel about the clots etc? Do you think there is more to it? It is possible it's your first AF, but if you think it isn't right or you are feeling pain, then go and get it checked out again.
Arte, I've been meaning to ask how your BSL are going - are they on their way down again?
Gracie, you did well to survive the weekend, and so did Lewis. Has he been more settled since then though now things are back to normal around the house? how did the public Bf at lunch go?
And finally Queenie, I KNOW you will have a vaginal birth. Put all thoughts of your friends and their c/s out of your mind - you are not them, you are an all-empowered-vaginal-birthing-goddess. I am sending you truckloads of vuh-jay-jay birthing vibes and a hug or two too.
-
The midwife asked me about FF in a nice manner, it was just that everyone sort of stopped to listen and I just felt like whoa this is uncomfortable. I went bright red hahaha needless to say I wont be going back, too embarrassed. Nevermind, I'm now happy with the decision i've made. I guess it was just hard for me because right through the pregnancy I was keen to breastfeed and I thought it would come easily, but it wasnt to be and its all good.
Marydean - Ebay is addictive. I just bought the indigenous print HAB on ebay, I paid $90.00 thinking I'd got it relatively cheap, only to have just found it for around the same price, brand new on another website. Whoops, wont be telling DP that!
Sherie - Oh the Captiva is really nice. DP works at Holden and he has brought one home before for the weekend. Very lucky! The walk was good, we were gone for about an hr. Called past the chemist to get a cream for Maddie, Zinc & Caster Oil, apparently its good for milk pimples and poor Maddie has lots at the moment.
Maddie is wide awake at the moment and has been since 5pm. She's not grizzly though, just wanting cuddles and attention hehe. Is it bad for a 4 wk old baby to be awake for longer than 2 hrs at a time?? (as I have been told by MIL!)
Also can any Perth ladies reccommend a photographer? (not too expensive) Was going to go to PixiFoto but have been told not to use them.
-
hi girls!
so much for me keeping up to date with the posts - this is my first time on in nearly a week i think!! i don't know how you all find time to keep up - especially those of you with multiple children!!
things here are going well. still lots of pain feeding. went to the Dr about my nipples last fri (have some very deep cracks that weren't healing at all). she said it was most likely thrush and gave me some ointment to use. have been using it for 5 days now and there is no noticeable improvement - not sure whether to go back again and ask her to take a swab.. might give it another week...
Abigail is such an easy baby. she has the occasional crying fit when she is inconsoleable, but other than that is no trouble at all...
queenie - sorry to hear that you're still waiting!! i was in active labour for 17 hours (after 6 days of pre-labour!!) and i suspect that there would have been some type of medical intervention to speed things along if i had gone into hospital when it all started... so, if you can, i would recommend staying at home as long as possible! also, if the hospital that you're going to has a bath i would really recommend it - i think if it weren't for labouring in the bath for the last few hours i would have really struggled and may have asked for some drugs...
Hayley - there is a great photographer called Linda Norris based in Vic Park. she used to be a wedding photographer (did my wedding) but now only does baby/kid photos. my sister has had some done by her and they really are gorgeous!! i'm not sure what her charges are, but may be worth investigating...
ok, am off to Weight Watchers now - this is my first time ever!! i still have 8 kgs to lose so thought i may as well get started sooner rather than later... i've been eating crap lately so it's no surprise that the weight isn't falling off, but i'm hoping that the pressure of a weekly weigh-in will make me a little more disciplined...
-
Well we havent had a great morning. Fed at 12.30am, then 3.30. He then woke up screaming at 5.00, we fed (only 5 min) and then sat up and listened to music until he fell asleep at 6.00. Woke at 6.45 happy and chatting but is grizzly again now. I think he is just tired. Hopefully he sleeps today and isnt unsettled like yesterday. We see the nurse today so I will see what she thinks.
Sherie I got rid of the shields yesterday as the nipple is feeling better. Oooohh what a lovely car, lol at not wanting to let the kids in it. I am sure it wont take them long to have it looking like you have owned it for years.
ETA Ella sounds like your stil having a rought time feeding, good on you for sticking it out!
I have been meaning to ask all you WW girls, can you do it on your own without singing up? Or is it a program where you really need to attend meetings etc?
-
off to ww this morning lol i am not looking forward to it because i think i havnt been doing very well.. still sticking within my points but sometimes not eating enough points or sometimes eating less food and making bad food choices iykwim... ah well maybe it will motivate me if i dnt do too well i am kinda nervous about stepping on the scale infront of someone who is expecting me to lose weight lol...
sherie - Asha stayed relatively settled last night... no screaming atleast but she wouldnt settle in her cot so she slept in with me most the night... must admit though i like cuddling with her and waking up with her next to me hehe... think the medicine techniques come from working in childcare.. try giving medicine to an autistic two year old that dosnt want to take it, poor possum we got there eventually though...
haley - Asha has very awake times too shes quite the alert baby.. i dnt worry about it unless she seems upset or it affects her in some way but usually it dosn't she just dosn't want to miss any of the action lol...
ella - i am hoping for the same thing with the weekly weigh in lol... glad abigail is good for you..
ozstar - the meetings (keep in mind ive only been to one) are just a support kinda thing.. ppl talk about what they have trouble with and get advice and each week is a new topic eg last week was all about healthy snack choices.. i know leanne was saying she signed up but just goes for the weigh ins to keep herself motivated... if you want to join theres a coupon on their website that makes it $15 for the first meeting and sign up instead of 30 to sign up and 17 for the meeting then you could decide whether to keep going after that... if you bought their little points guide thingy you probably could do it at home by yourself(you can get it from the meeting or their online site...

Morning All,
Noni- I too am off to WW this morning. Good Luck.

Looks like Wednesday is WWWednesday! Good luck starting up Ella! Don't wait too long before you go back to the dr if what she's given you is not working - did your Dr also give you some drops for Abigail's mouth?
Katie - yay for getting rid of those shields! Another little milestone - although you know they're always there if you need them again.
Noni - I hope you find WW to be motivating and not too confronting, I *hate* my weigh-in days at the dietician (she can be quite scary and tough) but I suppose that's part of the good motivation. Healthy snack choices, now there's a topic we could all do a bit more of (she says having just polished off an exotic fruit scone)!
Sherie - Yaaaaaaay for your new car! I don't know what a captiva is but I will watch the telly car ads until I see one. Have fun hooning around those dirt roads in it, won't you?! ;)
Looks like E has settled back down to being her normal contented self again (must've been the 6 week horrors last week). She was soooo smiley and chatty when she got up this morning and is now having a loooong nap. :) Feel like I'm doing the right things again. Hope it stays this way as we're now in count down mode until DH goes away *sigh*. Just for 4 days but 2nd trip is a week and a half :o! Not looking forwards to that.

Well I went to WW and only lost 0.2kg. I was trying really hard too. Oh well I must try harder this week.
Sherie- Congrats on getting your new car.
MD- I am glad that E has settled back down now. I know how you feel about DH going away. I was the same.
Xavier is doing so much better now, no more temps thank god and Olivia selpt last night from 6.30pm till 2.30am. Wow I needed that sleep. I have been trying to hold her feeds out till at least 6.00pm at night with a shower with mummy or daddy before bottle then bed after bottle then its the boys turn with showers about 7.00pm and bed so that mummy and daddy have a nice quiet house with all 3 babies sleeping by 7.30 or 8.00pm at the lastest. Oh what bliss...lol. Well I hope this routine lasts. Olivia has been enjoying her showers with us.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
