Hi Leesa! Im gonna have to write back to u tomoro.. just remembered i have cloth on Sienna now and she has been asleep for hrs and the wee is leaking thru her clothes onto her beautiful sheepskin rug!!! OH NO! Looks like im gonna have to wake her up! :)
Reet: I ended up with about 900mm of microfleece, and it cost me about $9, but that was only because some of it was a half-off remnant. If you PM me your address I'll post some of it to you (I'm posting some to kts too) - and don't worry about paying for it. If postage is a little exxy you can pay for that, otherwise don't worry about it :).
Cloth is heaps of fun! I'm loving having a girl this time so I can put Adele in gorgeous girly nappies! Lol, I SO know what you mean about the juicy big farts! I'm amazed at how much wind one little baby is able to have in her tummy with all the farts that come out of her! I've actually found that Adele's wind problems seem to be slowly sorting themselves out. She's burping easier and doesn't seem like she's in pain as often. I guess these babies work things out in their own time :).
Leesa: I love Maz covers too! I bought one for DS the other day with Cat in the Hat fabric on it - very cute! I really want to get some more for both DS and Adele to go over our BBH bamboo and hemp nappies - I always seem to miss her stockings though!
DS is going great being a big brother. I can't get over how much he seems to love her already - there's been almost no jealousy, just lots of cuddles and kisses. I can't wait till Adele is a bit older and can interact with him more - he'll love it! How are you kiddies going with Bree?
AFM: It is absolutely pouring here today - has been all day, so there's not much to do. I actually have mum's group soon, but I'm dreading going out in this weather. Thankfully my little sister is on holidays and is going to come along to help me :).
And once again Adele has woken for a feed (I think she knows when I come on here to update, lol!). Hope you're all well and your bubbas are growing beautifully!

Hi Ladies!!
Well I had to take B to the Pead for a follow up appt due to his jaundice he had at birth. B was 6 weeks yesterday and weighs 4.95kgs and increase of 1200g in six weeks which I am pleased with. I guess he is getting enought milk. With DD I was always extremely worried if she was getting enough breast milk as I hate not being able to physically see how much they are getting. This time around I am much more confident that BF is going well. With DD I only made it to six weeks then expressed for another 6 wks before changing to formula.
So I gues for those ladies who have had to switch to formula next time around there is always hope if that is something you wish to do.
I'm off to the Drs tomorrow for B to have his needles :crossfingers: that he is ok with them, I really don't want anything to upset my Bub.
I have to get out the cloth nappies and start using those, I wasn;t too impressed at 1 am this morning when I had to change B completly as his nappy had leaked and his enitre clothing was soaked.

Hi all, sorry it has been ages since I've been in here.
I had Phoebe weighed on Wednesday and she has put on 1.2kg since birth so is now 4.9kg and she is 57cm long. I have put most of the 0000 away as she no longer fits in them. I even put her in a 00 last night and it was only a little bit big. I want her to slow down so I can savour my last baby being a baby. We are having some sleep issues here as well as she has decided that midnight is the time to wake up and play :shakehead: I am not getting to bed until 1.30am most nights and then having to do a dream feed and then getting up to the other kids at 7am means that I am not getting much sleep. I try to have a day sleep but it doesn't always work.
For those of you who are having supply issues sometimes having a couple of glasses of sustagen a day helps. I am doing this (not that I have trouble this time) and am finding that I have heaps of milk so I'm even expressing and freezing :) My friend made the lactation cookies and she swore by them so sometimes it is trial and error to find something that works. I also understand that sometimes no matter what you do you still don't have enough (me last time with Meara) and I ended up b/f'ing and ff'ing and then just ff'ing. What ever works I say.
I am not using cloth nappies either :blush: but I find sposies so much easier and when I did use cloth nappies my kids ended up with really bad nappy rash. Even if I changed them 50 times a day. Hopefully soon Phoebe will be the only one in nappies at all. Meara is still in them for night time. Phoebe has also gone up to infant size nappies instead of newborn.

Reet – What a great birth story – I understand the denial, but in a different way – I was induced, and even on the way to the hospital – I didn’t really think I would be bringing home a baby at the end of the week!
Lessa – What a great size Bree is! E is having his needles on Tuesday – I hope it doesn’t unsettle him too much – not that I should complain as he is a really good baby, so I shouldn’t whinge if he isn’t – and I have some panadol on hand just on case on the advice of the mchn!
Sterla – the cloth nappies you were talking about sound great – even though I don’t do cloth I am going to have to have to try and find some, one of my girlfriends wants too when she has a bub – so I would love to buy some for her as a gift.
Any yup – I cant belive the farts that come out of my little man – the do crack me up!
Kts64s – how did Bailey go with his needles? I hope he didn’t get upset? Sounds like you guys are going great with the BF!
Shelly - Good on you for going as long as you did with the BF – I know once I made the decision once and for all that I couldn’t continue – I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
How is the cradle swing going – I have been looking at them – and not sure if I want to get one or not – so would love to see what you think of it now you have been using it for a bit?
KimB – great to hear from you! Hopefully your sleep issues sort out sooner rather than later.

All good here – had E weighed and since we have increased his formula he has put on about 600grams in a little over 2 weeks, so I am feeling much better!
He is still in his 0000’s clothes, but I am putting him in some 000’s just so I can see him in something different! Haha – they are big on him, but he doesn’t seem to mind…

Leesa- I find the broken sleep is refreshing too! U dont wake up with that really tired crappy feeling in the morning.. probably cos u dont really have time to get into a deep sleep! Ur night time sounds a lot like mine, Sienna normally sleeps from 10ish to 3am and then up again at 6am, thats when i bring her in with me and we cuddle til like 8! :) Love it!
Sterla- Cool i will pm u my address soon! thanku! and yeah let me know postage costs :) i checked out the firefly collectives.. from the sound of it its quite difficult to get ur hands on anything! im not sure i have the patience!

AFM- Well i feel as tho i shld get the worst mummy in the world award... Tonight i am going to a show called Hypnolarious (its meant to be a really funny show where ppl get hypnotised..always wanted to go to one!) with 2 girlfriends and leaving my darling little Sienna with my dad..he lives 2 minutes from the theatre its being held so its my best option! He loves her to absolute bits and is over the moon i am letting him babysit, hes so good with her so i know i dont have to worry but i still am.. i have told him one single little peep from her he has to call me and i will leave and get her.. the show only goes from 8-930 at the latest and hopefully she will just sleep the whole time. I am feeding her like every half an hour now just so her tummy is nice and full. Im feeling so guilty for going, like im just abandoning her so i can have a laugh.. i wish dh was in town.. i wldnt feel half as bad then! Now i understand the whole mothers guilt thing....
Reet - dont feel guilty! go and enjoy yourself! I am sure your Dad is feeling very special that you are letting him look after her!

Just a quick post from me on my phone. DH is on the PC and Baby bear is wingeing right now, refuses to sleep. Grrrr!
Oh and cradle swing, we got ours 2nd hand cos they are exp and a friend was getting rid of hers, but even if you had to buy it new hubby and I both think it is worth every cent! (major compliment as DH is a tight ar$e!)
Well im home, Sienna is fed and asleep all snuggled up on me :) the show wasnt as good as i thought it wld be... the hypnotising didnt work on a lot of ppl. I went straight after it finished and got Sienna from Dads.. she was sound asleep on his lap..but she was doing a little sobbing noise in her sleep every 20 or so seconds! :( it broke my heart! i asked him how long she had cried for and he said max. 10 mins, which i believe cos i have left her crying for 10 mins wen i was trying to follow this stupid routine and wen she did go to sleep she made that little sobbing/hiccuping noise. Her face wasnt at all red and she wasnt hot so i know she didnt get too worked up.. and i know he wld have called me if he needed too. Was so sad to hear tho :( Has anyone heard this little noise they do after crying sometimes?? or am i the only mean mummy :( Wen i got in the car i just burst into tears... i know she was alright.. gosh she did big smiles wen i woke her up and took her from dad but i dont know.. i think i just found it really hard leaving her :( Shes only made that sobbing sound twice in her life now.. but i never want to hear it again! I didnt show my dad that it upset me too much tho cos i cld tell he had the best couple hrs with her, he is in the middle of painting his house so doesnt have a tv connected at the moment, i asked him wat the hell he did the whole time! he said he just sat there all night holding her while she slept cos she wldnt let him put her down on her sheepskin... haha so cute :)
So yes that my first and last outing without my little attachment, unless ofcourse its just a quick dash to the shop! :) Thanks for ur well wishes girls!! :) xx
Have just put E to bed, hopefully until the morning - (he went through to just before 6 this morning) and Reet saw your update - E has made that noise, and I thought I was a mean mummy too - i know you know you are arent - but I am glad we all seem to be going through similar experiences and feelings!
Shame about the show, but it sounds like your dad had a good night :)

Reet It is hard to enjoy yourself when you leave bub for the first time, I remember when I left my DD for the first time, she was about 4mts old and DH and I only went for dinner. I had the most terrible time, DH said we were not going out again and till I was more ready.
B had his needles on Friday and seeded to be ok with them. Screamed for about 10 secs and then that was it. He was a little unsettled yesterday but I don't think it was the needles. Yesterday I made sure he feed for a full 20 mins each side and although he threw up a little after most feeds I feed him at 10am last night and he didn't wake till 5:30am and even then he hardly feed at all so I put him back to sleep and woke him up at 7 am to start the day as usual. :crossfingers: that continues but I am not holding my breathe. Oh and B has grown 7cm in 6 wks as I had the nurse measure him as the Ped didn't have time to do it.
reet, sterla, kts - well done all of you for going with the cloth nappies! I have taken the easy way out and am adding to the landfill with my sposies, feel a bit guilty but I can live with it.
One thing to keep in mind with cloth, as a baby I had terrible nappy rash with cloth, and mum eventually discovered that I was allergic to fabric softener. I am guessing things are much more gentle these days, but vinegar is a natural alternative.
Sterla - so lovely of you to offer your leftover microfleece to our girls. It feels so warm and fuzzy in here :) Great to hear that DS is being a perfect big brother.
Leesa - sounds like Bree is thriving! Well done :) And she seems to be doing well with her blocks of sleep.
Reet - LOL no choice when you are in denial ;) Vibrating cot mattress sounds divine, not sure of side effects on the body for long stretches (all night long), but for 10/15 mins would certainly do the trick! Sienna sounds like a perfect angel, and you guys smitten parents, sounds like you are going really well. Hope you managed to get your shower!
kts - glad to hear that the BF could get better the second time around. Thanks for the reassurance. Hope Bailey didn't scream too much with his needles.
KimB - Lactation cookies? OK I am going to have to look them up now, all these things I am learning for next time. I was using Fenugreek capsules but they didn't really do much. Just reading your sig, you have quite a brood there! Was Phoebe #6?

Kellbell, ezymay, jaycee - hope you are all doing well, and getting the sleep you need.
Jacob has his 6 week checkup at 7w2d, he is now 5.34kg and 58cm, the Paed said he was "thriving" and called him a "boofa" LOL. He is pretty much out of his 000 suits now and into 00.
Sleep wise he's doing OK, blocks of 2-4 hrs depending on his mood.
Since switching to exclusively formula he's been having problems with constipation. The Paed recommended Coloxyl from the chemist, which we have been trying but doesn't always work, we've found a little bit (2-3ml) of prune juice in a feed works much better. I have read that you shouldnt use prune juice for under 3mths but he doesn't vomit and it works better.
Have had a couple of rough days where I feel a little bit of PND creeping in, so I try to get out in the sunshine for a walk as much as possible, as a bit of exercise and sunshine make me feel SO much better!
J has his 2mth needles booked for this coming Thurs, not looking forward to that!
Hope all you Eastern State girls are enjoying your long weekend! Hope it doesn't rain the whole time! We have sunny blue skies here in Perth but it's a bit chilly. Am tempted to move to Darwin or Cairns for the winter!!

Shelly- Yeah move to cairns.. Its beautiful weather here! Im in flannelette bottoms and just a bra with all the windows open still. Its just lovely! A lot of cairns ppl call this weather cold tho.. but its probably about 23 degrees still haha. I wldnt be able to stand the cold weather.. altho we did get married in the snow at NZ if u check out my wedding pics on fb.. i was in a strapless dress.. that was freezing! Crazy!
And a vibrating mattress wld be great, i wld only need it to vibrate for a couple minutes.. but i think i will just have to find something new to do once shes in her cot and out of the bassinet which i can shake.. i might have to start patting her to sleep or something..ideally tho it wld be better if she cld just go to sleep on her own!
Sorry to hear ur having a few little pnd moments, im so glad that u know how to make urself feel a bit better.. sunshine works wonders hey! :) if the sunshine stops working as well tho make sure u do something about it.. see a dr.. we're all here for u too! :hug:
Is everyone still sleeping with ur babies in ur room?? Im dreading the day that S doesnt fit in her bassinet anymore and has to move to her own room. I think i will be more anxious not having her right there plus how inconvenient having to get up and go to her for feeds! I love just being able to reach over, pick her up and bring her into bed with me. I dont even have a chair to sit on in her room... i might have to look into getting one..
I feel as tho i am just starting to understand her needs.. like before last week i was just going with the flow, if she didnt just fall asleep then i wldnt bother making her go to sleep.. but then we wld end up with a very grizzley baby! Now i know that after she has a feed, she normally stays awake for an hr.. 2 at the most and then has a sleep, if she doesnt go straight to sleep i get her up and try again after 5 mins, and it always works! If she has a big sleep i try and make sure we do something that is going to stimulate her so she is tired by the time she shld be having a sleep again.. we will go outside and have nudey time on the grass or something (just her..not me! ;) ) I feel as tho we have a bit of a routine going on.. but it just doesnt have set times. I have heaps of time in my day tho to get stuff done which is great! Altho... I do hear from ppl that as soon as u feel like ur getting to know ur babies patterns they will go and change it all anyway... so we'll see how we go over the next few weeks!
Another question.. have ur babies eyes started changing colour?? Siennas eyes are still bright blue, both dh and I have brown eyes tho so we are just assuming that she will as well.. but they havent changed at all since birth. Does anyone know when they are meant to change??
Oh and one more question.. whos still in newborn nappies??? We are only just fitting into them still.. i dont think she wld fit into huggies ones anymore but shes still fitting into the woolworths select brand.. so thats what im using! I want S to stay as my little newborn for a while longer! Dh gets back on the weekend so next week we will go and get her weighed, 2 weeks ago she was 4.3kgs, im thinking she will be around the 5kg mark now, maybe bigger!
Anyway better get to bed, S has been asleep for 2 hrs already.. im missing out on important sleep by spending too much time on here! :) nite nite!!

SB - Its good to hear that our bubs are putting on weight and are 'boofa's'. My biggest fear is that B will get sick and not have enough weight on to get him by. What formula are you using, I have read many a thread on hear about some formulas causing constipation and others don't. Good on you for recognising the PND syptoms and even a bigger good on you for then taking steps to try and keep it at bay. Just remember we are all hear if you need to get anything out.
Reet - Yes B is still in our room although he is very noisy sleeper, but its too cold here to get up to him during the night so he will stay in our room until it gets warmer. B eyes are brownish but then sometimes they look more blue, I am pretty sure it can take months for their eyes to get to the colour it will stay. B is also out of newborn nappies so I have started using cloth, although the weather is horrible and raining I'm not really sure it is the smartest move at the moment. I am going to do disposable overnight though.
AFM- Well B's long sleep the night before last he made up for last night by waking three times for a feed and then not going back to sleep after waking at 5:15 for a feed. I'm not too worried, he is only 6 ish weeks old. I am trying to keep a positive attitude about it in that it won't be forever, this is our last child so I am trying to enjoy every 'stage'.
Well, I hope the weather is better in other parts of Australia that it is here. Rain rain and more rain!!
I'm gonna try to keep J in newborn nappies as long as possible, cos you get more in a box of newborn than you do in a box of crawlers!

Well its yet again another rainy day here in Sydney.
I don’t mind the rain, but it feels never ending this weekend.
Hoping it stops later tonight – we are hoping to head into the city to check out the lights that are a part of the Vivid Sydney festival –it’s the last night tonight, so fingers crossed!
Shelly – lucky you being able to get some sun, and as the girls said, good on you for being so in tune with yourself that you can acknowledge that you might not be feeling right.
what formula are you using? We are using NAN HA Gold – and don’t have any probs – it was the one the hospital gave us when I was topping him up when I was there – and they advised it was easy to digest so helped with constipation etc.
Also – was hard to get my head around that a FF bub doesn’t poop as often as a BF bub! Hopefully the prune juice continues to help.
(BTW - what a great idea! I wouldn’t have thought of it, and will keep it in mind in case E has problems down the track>)
I’m hoping to be able to get out for some walks with E this week when DH goes back to work. We have been doing loads with him off – and I don’t want to get into the habit of being stuck at home now he is going back to work, as I know that will have a big effect on me.
I will be going to Mothers group for the first time this Friday, so hopefully it works out ok.

Its great when you really start to get to know what bub is doing and you get that little routine happening – even if its only for a few days!
And yes, we have been lucky with Ethan – last night we got 6.5 hours out of him.
Lucky for us he loves his bath – he really relaxes in them – to the point he falls asleep – so we have made that our bedtime ritual – bath, feed, sleep at around 1030 or so and he’s down until about 5ish or so. At the moment! I am sure it will change very soon!
I was going to ask about eye colour too – E’s are still that bluey/grey colour and I am certain he will have dark eyes like us – mine are a dark hazel brown, and DHs are hazel- but do some times go grayish. I guess time will tell.
We are still in newborn nappies here – but by the sounds of it – Ethan is still a bit smaller at this stage.
Ethan is in his own room – has been since we came home, except for maybe 2 nights – it didn’t work for any of us – I think we all kept each other up. His room is across the hallway so if both doors are open I can him – and I have the baby monitor too.
I should really stop babbling now – will be back in soon!

Hi everyone sorry I haven't been around much, it's been full on. I got mastitis again and this time had no DH to help out, luckily my sister and dad came to the rescue.
Mishy had his needles today, a bit later cause he's been a bit sick. I had forgotten about the appointment and was just in the Drs dropping something off and she told me was I there for Hamish??? Baby brain!!
Anyway he hated the needles and I had Em with me to and it upset her seeing Mishy so sad :( he is 5.48kgs and 60cm long!! Quite tall I think? I'm still pumping and only need to cover one feed with formula every couple of days.
He is out of newborn nappies but use a few cloth, I didn't get heaps of smalls. He is still in my room. He has lost that newborn look now too :( he's like a proper baby ifykwim? DH will bs home this weekend he won't recognize him, it's been 4 weeks!
Anyway it sound likes everyone us doing well. I promise to keep in touch more!

Well it's a dreary one here in Perth today, rainy and cold. Plus I have a stinker of a cold so am having a doona day :) Not looking forward to J catching it, kinda inevitable I think.
Sah - did you check out the lights? Sucks about your DH going back to work today. Like Sterla said, I hope the day turns out better than you expect.
Reet - OMG I just checked out your wedding pics, they are awesome! And yeah, not surprised you were cold bbrrrrr! :) Cairns would be so lovely right now, I'm sure Sienna is loving all the nudey time you can give her! Hopefully J can have some nudey time when we go and visit my sister on the GC at the end of August. I too am getting the hang of Baby Bear's cries and figuring out what he wants, and generally feeling more confident. I've been told it doesn't last long cos the bubs like to mix things up a bit and keep us mums on our toes!
kts - we are using S26 Gold formula, as it's what the hospital used and we have just carried on as we had no idea! And yes I think it takes a while for bubs to get their eventual eye colour. How are you going with starting on the cloth? Hope you got more of a sleep in this morning than yesterday!
AFM... Jacob is 8 weeks old today! The time has flown so fast, he's not a newborn anymore :( awwww
Jake still has blue eyes, but they are getting less grey and more blue so I think that's what he will end up with (DH and I both have blue eyes).
Like Sah, we have J in his own room and has been since we came home. it didn’t work for us to have him in the same room as just like Sah we all kept each other up. We can hear him easily enough from our room.
The cradle swing is still awesome but now J will only sleep in there during the day. If I try to put him in the cot during the day he just whinges until I put him in the swing. Gah!
As for the PND, I suffered a bit from depression when I was doing IVF at the same time as having issues at work, so am aware of the symptoms. Luckily it wasn't bad enough to go on medication, just fortnightly visits to the psych to chat. Don't feel anywhere near as bad as that at the moment, just a couple of difficult days in the last 2 months. At least now I can have chocolate and a little bit of wine! :) And knowing you girls are looking out for me helps too :hug:
It just sucks having a cold cos I can't have as many baby cuddles as i'd like!
Gotta check the letterbox as i'm expecting something. Hope you're all managing to stay warm and dry!

Another crappy/rainy/windy day here!
Shell - yep- we made it in to the lights on Monday night - the rain held off and it wasnt as cold as the other nights thank goodness.

AFM - all good here - Ethan was fantastic yesterday with his needles. Let out one little scream, then snuggled in for some cuddles.
We then hit the shops after, and all the grandmas out, stopped us to chat and coo over him!
It definitely makes doing the grocery shopping a lot longer task.
The vaccinations must of tired him out or something (??) - he went down to sleep at 630 last night and didn't wake up until just before 6am this morning - i woke up a couple of times during the night and had to check up on him as i was worried.
And he has slept most of today too - except for a couple of quick feeds and changes.
DH went back to work yesterday - think it was harder on him than us. Sent him some pictures during the day - dont know if that made it harder or easier for him.

Sah - I am going back in October, not sure when in Oct yet. Although I am still doing some work from home in the mean time. I'm worried about how I am going to manage the house and work when I go back. So I am busily trying to work it out. DH will do some of the housework, well the washing and washing up when I go back but I can be a bit of a clean freak so I am my own worse enemy when it comes to the house being tidy. At this stage I am going back full time but going to talk to the boss as I would love 3 days but I think I will be able to negotiate and do 4, the other day I will devote to housework so I can have the weekends for the family.
I'd be interested tgo hear what you ladies are doing?
Im planning on going back in November - like you not sure when!
I am bit worried, my job involves lots of travel, not sure how I will cope with it.
I have been thinking this week, to perhaps extend my leave until March, and maybe go back 4 days... Not sure how i will go extending it - i may miss it before then!

Like you kts64s, I am worried about the housework - i like a clean house, and want to be able to keep that in order too!
My DH keeps telling me we dont live in display home, but i like things in their place :)
Sahbear- I managed goig back to work ft with DD and kept the house pretty 'display home' like. DH makes that comment to me too. Once you get the hang of it and get a routine going you'll be ok. I'm just not sure if I can do the same with two kids this time around. Ah I can't believe we are thinking about work already. Time is flying my little man is growing too quick.
Now to just figure out how to stop time....

Went to my first mothers group session today - and it was surprisingly really good.
Was nice to meet other ladies in my area with new bubs!
Will definitely keep going for the organised sessions for the next month, and I am hoping some of us will continue on afterwards.

Just wanted to come in and say DH IS COMING HOME TODAY!!! WOOHOOOOO!!! No more nappies for me til next monday!! Haha well i hope so anyway. Pity he doesnt have a booby that she can suck on as well haha.
Little Miss Sienna has been going really well, and this morning she has been fabulous! We only got out of bed at 9.30am.. we had cuddles since about 6.30 wen she woke up. I had a shower and she was more then happy to just watch me in her swing, it was a bit cold so i was in there for like 20 mins defrosting! And now i have just come out to the living room and shes laying on the couch watching the tv like a good little girl! I love that they are happy to just lay there and look around now.. have u girls noticed that in the last couple weeks??
Its funny Shelly and Kellbell both commented on a picture in my fb album (pm me if u want to be friends on there!) that Sienna is getting so big... im guessing theres arent as big at this age???! haha. That wld be right, i give birth to the littlest baby in this group and she ends up being the biggest chubba wubba in here! haha. I hope dh recognises her after being away for 3 weeks!
We are going to go and get her weighed wen she gets her needles next week (waited for needles cos i wanted dh to be there) She was 4.3kgs 3 weeks ago, im guessing shes well over the 5kg mark now!
To answer ur question about going back to work, im hoping i never have too again! haha maybe im dreaming??! We are both keen to have another baby as soon as my body is ready though, im guessing that wont be for a while since im b'fing and it can take up to 12 months... ill just have to be patient!
Oh and well done to u girls not sleeping with babies in the same room, its going to be so much more harder to get Sienna out of our room in a couple months wen shes too big for her bassinet. For one, i shake the bassinet so she goes to sleep and i cant do that with her cot.. and 2.. ive become lazy with feeds! I dont want to have to get up and go to her room and feed her in the middle of the night! I might start off with a mattress on her floor or something. Im not looking forward to it at all!
Ezymay- How long is ur dh home for?? I bet he noticed the change in ur little man. Its so sad our dhs have to leave their babies :( So sorry to hear that ur mastitis came back again.. what a struggle :(
Anyway i better get off.. Sienna keeps doing these cute sighs like 'am i still laying here!'

Reet - hahaha that is good news about DH coming home! You certailny sound on top of the world which is lovely! He will probably notice changes in Sienna that you may have missed. It's great that she is being so good for you while DH is away. Good girl Sienna! I think she is growing fast cos she looks like a healthy bouncing boofa now compared to the tiny fragile thing she was when she was born, and it's really noticeable!
Sah - yay to the great mothers group! It's so nice when you get a good group cos it really is down to luck. A friend of mine had a bunch of really negative people in hers so she only stayed in touch with a couple of them afterwards. If you get a good group you stay in touch for many years to come, and sometimes meetings even turn into girls boozy weekends away!! :)
kts - yeah it will probably be a challenge to do everything you want to do with 2 kids and a job. I guess that's when prioritisation comes into it. I have no idea, you'll have to let us know! ;) DH said to me that as long as we are clothed and fed the rest is a bonus. But I only have the 1 to look after right now, heaven knows what will happen with 2! I'm lucky tho as DH is a clean freak and does heaps of housework (he is more houseproud than me!), and I do the organising and paperwork.
Ezymay - awww poor you with the mastitis, that sux hun. Hope it all clears up for you real soon so you can relax and feed happily without any issues. Hope you and Hamish have a lovely time with DH home this weekend!

AFM... I'm just getting over this grotty head cold, and miracle of miracles Jacob doesn't seem to have caught it! Well not that I can tell anyway! And he only had a short cry when he had his needles. The second needle he did a kinda silent cry when he screws his face up and hold his breath and goes bright red! It scares me when he does that! But he forgot about it in about 5 mins, and was a bit sleepy for the rest of the day.
I am finding my brain is starting to crave some stimulation so I am already thinking about when I want to start my new career as a teacher. I am fully registered but will do some volunteer work first as a teachers aide to familiarise myself with a school and get my confidence back, probably 1 day a week to start with to ease myself in gently. Not sure when tho. DH and I have always talked about me taking 12 months off, but playing it by ear and me going back earlier if I wanted to. In the meantime I am giving my brain a work-out by doing our family tree, it's something I can do in 10 minute blocks when Jacob is sleeping and I have done all the dishes :)
Speaking of sleeping, Jake is still only doing 3hr blocks at night. Is anyone else not having long sleeps at night yet? We were hoping he'd be doing 4-5hrs by now. Are we expecting too much?
But the best thing of all is that J is getting so much more vocal and interactive this past week, lots of oos and ahhhs and smiles, and we've been able to play some games too! It's awesome to finally be getting some feedback :)

I cant believe ur already thinking about getting back into working now! I must be super lazy! haha. Im loving being a stay at home mum. Wld J just go into daycare if u started off doing 1 day a week??
Sienna is still waking up every 3 hrs at night, I think we have had a 5-6 hr block only 2 or 3 times. Sometimes she surprises me and goes 4 hrs but thats only a couple times a week. I cant imagine ever getting a full night sleep again! I think its still normal for them to be feeding quite a bit.. maybe by 3-4 months they shld start being able to go longer between feeds. During the day sometimes shes even feeding every 2 hrs! Thats probably why she is getting to be such a bouncing boofa! :)
Girls i have a question! Have u guys managed to have sex again yet??? We attempted to before dh went away and it just didnt work.. it was like i was blocking him off. I had an ob. appointment last week and he explained that after birth (it cld have to do with b'fing tho) the vagina doesnt produce any lubrication so it can be quite painful when DTD. He said if lube doesnt help then there is an estrogen tablet i can insert in once a week and that helps..but it can dry up ur milk so he said try and go without it if we can. Anyway we had sex tonight and my god it HURT!!! It felt like it was my first time all over again! It was such a stabbing pain! Now i know that there isnt anything wrong with me.. like i dont think i have any internal damage or anything, it must just be the dryness.. but how long will it last??! Dh said he was happy to stop but then what..we just never have sex again??! Is it one of those things that will get better the more u do it?? Ppl always have sex only a couple weeks after giving birth, this is a whole 8 weeks later!!
Dh was gentle but it feels like i have given birth all over again! haha well maybe not AS bad but i can still feel pain now.. :( Gosh i hope it gets better.. and im not a dried up prune forever!
Sorry Reet but had to have a giggle. Not sure where you got the statistic of "people always have sex only a couple of weeks after giving birth" lol but that aint necessarily so :) DF and I still haven't dtd yet but until he has the snip he's not getting any. We do not want any more kids so can't risk it (I'm still very fertile for an old duck). One question comes to mind - are you relaxing enough or are you still listening out for Sienna. Sometimes you need to put the baby in another room to achieve total concentration on DH. Also use heaps of lube.
Phoebe is still playing up at nights. I don't get to bed until 1.30am most mornings and then have to feed her still during the early morning and then get up to the rest of the kids at about 7am. I'm not surviving on a lot of sleep atm. Last night I slept funny and today my shoulder is playing up. It has been really stiff and sore and I can't move it properly :( Also Phoebe has had some trouble with wind lately. She can't be put down as she screams from the pain so my arms are getting sore from holding her all day. Hopefully Feeb will be able to get her Close Carrier back off her friend and then I can buy it from her.
Shelly - I'm glad Jacob was ok getting his needles. Phoebe had hers and was not to bad either. Only a little cry and then was ok after a feed. She was unsettled for a couple of days afterwards though. I'm not sure what sort of hourage we are getting between feeds as I demand feed. I wish she was taking longer between feeds though so I could catch a nap lol.
Hope everyone else is ok and that all the bubs are doing well.
KimB - You poor thing, I hope you can start getting some sleep. I can imagine how hard it would be to function :(
Reet - On the DTD, yup = pain here at first too - ob said the same thing about the lubrication and said once AF is back it will improve. That hasn't happened yet - but the pain has improved - but its very delicate down there!
Yay for DH coming home - how very exciting - i am sure he is going to love being super hands on with Miss Sienna.
And wow about having another bub when your body is ready! We are now starting to think about when to have another - what sort of age gap etc. think i would like to go back to work for a bit, then think about falling pregnant -but who knows!
Shelly - i have a cold here too, and i am hearing you on the getting some feedback from the bubs - its nice when they dont just eat/sleep/poop!
And how exciting about your new career as a teacher - is it primary or secondary? MOst of my friends from Uni went on to do their dip ed to be secondary school teachers. At the time i didnt think it was the career for me, but i have been considering primary might be! Who knows?!
AFM - everything is good here apart from having the cold/flu, spent the day with my brother and his family yesterday - was nice that his kids have a cousin on our side now! Ethan was well behaved, passed around to everyone, sleeping in his pram, playing and no tears.

My Ob in just over a week and have a Mirena put in. I'm not going to risk it.
DH has been complaining but I keep reminding him I was the one that went through 9 mths of pregnancy and gave birth the least he could do is not complain about having to wait a few weeks .
Reet yay for DH being home...mine was only here for the weekend, he left again tonight. Not sure when he'll be back. Hamish had changed so much in the time he'd been gone. Its so hard for him. Emily misses him soo much too. She is a daddy's girl for sure.

Its a busy week here this week - just got home after being out all day and E is buggered!
We left home at 11am and got home an hour or so ago, and he hasnt slept all day!
He has been perfectly good - no crying or anything, and is now fast asleep after a feed.
Few more busy days ahead of us, so i better get tackled into the housework.

Really happy, Jacob has started to sleep for 4-5 hrs at night now, which is great! Wonder how long it will last!
We have not DTD yet, still waiting for my tear/stitches to heal completely as it's still a little tender and have not been having any amorous feelings whatsoever! Also DH saw Jacob's head come out of what used to be one of his favourite places (to quote 2 and a half men!) so he's giving me a wide berth still.
Picked up our pregnancy and newborn pictures last night, am loving them, have hung them on the wall already, makes our house look more like a home :)

Okay, I really wanted to do personals, but my whole reply was just lost (for the second time!) so I'm just going to update on me!
Things are going really well here. I feel like I've settled into being a mum of two and am starting to understand Adele's wants and needs a lot more. She is sleeping well - she still sleeps quite a bit through the day which I'm still getting used to. DS was never much of a sleeper, so I keep thinking there's something wrong with Adele for sleeping so much - she's just a good sleeper though :). She does good night sleeps too - we usually get a 4-5 hour block, followed by a 3.5 hour block - I feel like I'm getting enough sleep, I don't usually feel too tired. Let's hope her good sleeping lasts!!!
Adele is giving us lots of smiles and cooing - it's so gorgeous! There's so much to look forward to as she grows up, it's so exciting! Adele has also discovered her thumb (as those of you on my FB would know). It's quite good actually - as I think it's probably why she's so settled most of the time - she's learning to self soothe I suppose?
Adele has become a bit of a mummy's girl already too. She's fine and happy while she lying in her rocker, but if anyone other than me picks her up it's not long before she's crying. I gave Adele to DH for a quick cuddle last night while I ducked to the toilet, and by the time I came back she was crying hysterically - then almost as soon as I was holding her again she calmed down. It's nice that she loves her mummy, but a bit disheartening for poor DH and the grandparents!
Adele had her 6 week check last week and all was good there. She has her 8 week check with the MCHN next week. It will be interesting to see how heavy she is, cause according to our scales at home she's 6kg already! She's such a little pudding!
As for the DTD stuff we've all been talking about... we have not even talked about it! I can tell DH is thinking about it, lol, but he hasn't complained either which is good of him. I had a second degree tear though, so I want to be really sure everything is healed before trying anything. I know breastfeeding does keep things a bit dry downstairs too, so it's not something I'm particularly looking forward to :redface:.
Anyway, I better go and feed Adele and post this before I lose it for a third time!!!

I had been posting in the other baby buddies thread, but have been keeping an eye on all of my Belly Buddies. Think I might post in here from now on...I don't really know any of the other ladies in the May group. Plus I noticed Sterla in here so I figure it's OK ;).
Sterla - I also have our 8 week check next week with the MCHN, then off to the Dr for needles...not looking forward to that.

Hi everybody else, too many persies to do- BBL.
Henry is a well behaved bub - I am bf him, 3hr feeds during the day & he usually goes down about 11-midnight until 6-7am (can't ask for any more than that). I have a surplus of milk, so have just bought a breast pump - a Medela Swing electric. Haven't used it yet, but wanted to know what bottles people are using if you are expressing? Or are you storing in the bags? Not sure what to do. Had a moment this morning :( - was cutting Henry's nails as he has scratches all over his face (manages to get his mittens off during the night) and accidently got a bit of his thumb skin. It didn't really bleed, but he wailed so loud & I started crying - never doing that again!

Quick one from me today, busy week and it now looks like its going to be a busier weekend.
Ethan is going really well - is in a nice a routine, and the last few nights we have been getting 9hours or so sleep - not sure if its coz he has a blocked up nose, or if he is just getting into that pattern. Either way - it is great - but I keep waking up freaking out.
As i said - he still has this blocked nose - I bought a vapaouriser the other day, and it seems to be helping - so will continue with that.
Looks like i will be going back to work sooner than i thought! I will be doing 4 weeks of work from home, starting not this week but next.
Thankfully its only for a month, and its from home, and only for about 5hours a day.
They are lucky that E is going well, and not giving me any grief so I am able to do it.
They did offer a Nanny if I wanted it, but think I will be ok without.

Heya JMO! Welcome back to our fold ;) Glad to hear Henry is sleeping really well! Good bubba! I had to laugh at your nail-cutting exercise because we nearly did the same thing but I stopped hubby just in time. My sister used to bite them off her kids, and it seems like a pretty practical thing to do cos you can be so much more accurate with your mouth and their nails are really only paper thin at this age.
Sah - wow, you are keen! And also it appears a valued member of their team! Nice of them to offer a nanny. What kind of work do you do?
Sterla - having worked in IT for 15 or so years, I have learned never to trust computers, especially in the early days! I always type up my responses in notepad first, then paste them into the comment box once i'm done. Mainly because I take so long to compose my replies my session times out before I have a chance to submit! Good to hear Adele is enjoying her thumb, and giving you loads of smiley feedback! And thriving too! 6kg :) Like you I had a second degree tear so am not even thinking about DTD just yet!
