Sterla - I'm loving all the FB pics of Miss A! So great to hear you've settled into your new role as Mumma to 2 lovely kids. She certainly is doing a great job of growing - she's almost catching up to Bree!!

AFM - Not a great deal to report. Bree got her 2 mth needles last Tuesday (the nurse said 'oh, sorry the girl at the front marked Bree down for having her 2 mth needles'; I said 'yeah, that's what we are here for'; nurse says 'Really? I thought she was a 4 mth old'; I said 'ease up, don't make her grow up any quicker than she already is' lol)!. She is starting to do a few 7 hour overnight stretches, but usually it's 5 hrs - which I don't mind. I've organised her baptism for mid August (in fear she won't fit into the family 'hand me down gown' lol) - so I'm looking forward to that...!

Leesa – I bought a vicks one – it works well, cuts out when it runs out of water which I like. It was only $40, so I am not going to complain! And yes, we are very grateful we have a sleepyhead, I don’t know how long it will last, but will take it while I can.

We are going well here – E had a great time at Mothers group yesterday – rolling around with some of the other bubs, and today we spent the day in the city shopping, so he was in the baby bjorn all day – and loved it.
He is super cute – I just love gummy baby smiles ☺

Sounds like a lot of our bubbas are starting to sleep longer stretches over night - Adele did a 6 hour block last night, but is doing 4-5 hour blocks most night which I'm happy with.

Adele is such a good sleepy bubba. DS used to cat nap through the day (40 minutes here and there), but Adele usually has a good 2-3 hours in the afternoon, and then an hour here and there throughout the rest of the day.
We had a big day out yesterday for a friend's birthday (Mel's for those of you who know her on here and FB). We ended up being away from home for 12 hours straight! We had a lovely day, ate far too much cake and had chinese takeaway for tea. DS just played all day long, and Adele slept and fed and was awake a lot more than usual. She was an overtired grumpy bubba last night! We also got home and put DS to bed only to discover that one of our cats had pee-ed on his bed, again! Grrrr!
Anyway, I better go and finish getting tea ready. I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

AFM - everything is well - my inlaws were down yesterday, as well as my 2 SIL'S - so E had lots of cuddles, got completely over tired from being up too long, he completely crashed when he went to bed! He ended up missing a feed, and with him being so little - i wont be letting that happen today - even if i have to wake him up!

Sterla - Hope Adele is OK & poos are back to normal. Also hope that you are ok. We all seem to have good bubbas. Henry is mostly doing 5-6 hours overnight, still not a concrete routine yet.
leesa - Hope Bree was ok after her 2 mth needles - Henry will be having his on Thursday.

Just a quick one girls - for those breastfeeding how long do you feed on each side? Do you feed both sides each feed? B will feed great from one side for 20min but then fussed the whole time on the L side. It's driving me batty. He has always fussed at the left side.
Kts: I only feed Adele from one side per feed and she's usually done after 10 minutes. Sometimes I will burp her or change her nappy and try her on the same side again.
As for being fussy on one side, I think it's supposed to be pretty normal for babies to prefer one side. I find Adele fusses during a feed if she is tired too.
Am on phone, will bbl for proper post.
kts64s - I usually only feed Henry on 1 side now, takes him 10-15mins. When he falls off I burp him, wait a few minutes then offer the other side. I don't force the issue - if he's hungry he might go on for about 5 mins, otherwise he just shows no interest. I haven't had any issues feeding either side though. Do you try him on the left first?
I agree with Sterla on the tiredness thing - Henry can be a bit fussy if he's tired too.
Sah - ahhhh righto. My sis is a EN working in geriatric care and says there is so much lifting involved! So I guess that's where you guys come in?! Glad you had fun at your mothers group and E loves his baby bjorn! And yes, I did get my sleep in :) Isn't it funny how they completely crash after having a big day, poor little things I can't help worrying if they get hungry!
sterla - doh about the cats peeing on DS bed! That's the last thing you need after getting home from a long day! Hope Adele got a good nights sleep and was a good girl for you the next day! So did you get to see a GP and get Adele checked out? Hope everything is OK. :hug:
JMO - wow thats great that Henry only takes 10-15mins to feed! Jacob still takes 30mins, he likes to take his time! how did the expressing go? Feels a bit strange doesn't it? Would you agree that it's not as nice as breastfeeding, and you feel like a bit of a cow being milked?! But it's worth it tho!

AF decided to pay me a visit yesterday, oh joy! It was really quite nice not having to worry about it for 11 months! :)
I am mourning the loss of my perky breasts, they are now saggy floppy little things. Had to buy a new bra yesterday cos they are too small for my pretty maternity bras but too big for my pre-preg bras.
Oh, and you know you are getting old when you find your first grey pube! OMG! I cracked up when I saw it after my shower the other day LOL!
We tried the baby bjorn yesterday for the first time, with mixed feelings... it didn't look too comfortable but that may be because my boobs aren't big enough to act as pillows? His head was resting on my chestbone... and I had to take him out to go to the loo, and also I needed to try on some bras, so had to take him out for that too. Luckily I had mum with me to hold him.
Anyway on the bright side I was in my PJs until gone midday today, it's rainy and dreary in Perth today so Jake and I both had a sleep-in :)
SB- with my left boob nit producing much milk it has already turned pancake looking, but for the moment my right is still nice looking. Thank goodness it's winter so I can cover up my odd boobs, not looking forward to summer. Fingers crossed my boobs even up by then.

Sorry for being such a bad baby buddy, I read every day on my phone but don’t often find the time to fire up the laptop for a proper post, will try to pop in more often I promise!
JMO – how did you go expressing the other day? I’ve expressed a few times and it takes me 40 minutes to get around 50ml which is quite time consuming!
Kts – I feed kody for around 10-15 minutes on the first side, or until he pulls off, I can usually tell when he’s pulling off because he’s drained the boob so I’ll pop him on the other side. It’s a 50/50 as to whether he’ll take the other side or not.
Shellybelly – :rofl: at the grey pube, I literally burst out laughing when I read that! Bad luck af is back, I didn’t get it back until DS was 9 months old last time, hoping for the same thing this time around.
Sterla – did you end up taking Adele to the doctors? Are her poos back to normal?
Reet – a bit of a late answer but DH and I have managed to dtd twice since Kody was born, the first time around 6 weeks after he was born. It’s a bit different for me as I had an emergency c/s this time, but with DS1 (vaginal birth) it took almost a year for things to feel ok when dtd again. Probably not what you want to hear, but it will get better!
Kimb – is phoebe sleeping any better? :hug: sleep deprivation is not fun!
Ezymay – hope you and your bubbas are feeling better!
Leesa – :waves: hi, not much to ask you as we saw each other a couple of days ago lol. Kody looks gorgeous in the little hats you gave him, and the rest of the clothes are just devine, thanks again hun!
Sah – I have a baby bjorn too, Kody wasn’t too keen on it at first but loves it now and will sleep for hours in it!
Are any of you lovely ladies co-sleeping with your bubs? I’ve kinda just fallen into it, Kody is a very people-orientated bubs and likes to be with someone at all times, even when sleeping, so it kinda just made sense rather than trying to fight it all the time. The only thing that bothers me is he seems to want to feed every couple of hours overnight most of the time, sometimes we’ll only have 1 or 2 wake ups, but majority of the time is every couple of hours. I’m not sure whether it’s just because the boobs are there and he can smell milk or not? I guess the one good thing is I don’t have to get out of bed, but waking every couple of hours is not so cool either lol
Other than that Kody is going great, putting on weight really well, sailed through his 2 month needles and is most of the time a content happy little baby.
I tried the expressing thing for a while, but it was taking me 40 minutes just to get 50ml or so, so I decided it was too time consuming. I want Kody to have a bottle every now and then, to make babysitting duties a little easier when the time comes, so I gave Kody his first ever bottle of formula the other day, and I don’t know why, but I felt increadibly guilty about it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against formula, not all women are able to breastfeed, but I guess for me, cause I was lucky enough to be able to breastfeed easily, I felt horrible giving it to him. Mummy guilt sucks sometimes!!
Anyway, best get back to the housework before Kody decides to wake up again, he will generally only have 2 or 3 40 minute naps per day, and at least one of those has to be while being cuddled, so it doesn’t leave a lot of time for much else!
Oh, and I can’t remember who was asking about returning to work, but I was originally returning in march but now looks like January, however I’m already doing some work from home as they’re finding it very hard to replace me, which is good as at least now I might be a little more appreciated when I return in an official capacity :)

Shelly - We are using the baby bjorn here - and I also have an ergo carrier - but that heart to heart insert does my head in; I think Bree prefers being in the Bjorn carrier (despite the 'small pillows' I provide lol). Yay for the sleep in!!
JMO - Hope henry's needles didn't cause him too much angst?
Sah - Bree is 6.7kgs now - she's all cheeks though lol!

Hey everyone,
I meant to update on Adele. It was last Saturday her poos were black. Sunday morning when I changed her they were still a very dark brown. I called the 24 hour parent helpline to ask what they thought. The woman I talked to was lovely, but basically said in these situations it is best to assume to worst and she advised us to take her in to emergency. We dropped DS with my parents and DH and I took Adele into emergency. Being a Sunday it was very busy. We had to wait in line for ages to even get to the window to check in. We explained to the nurse there what was going on and about how we called the 24 hour line, to which she made a knowing face and said they tell everyone to bring their babies into emergency.
We sat and waited for a while - Adele was very good and just slept in the carrier, then woke for a feed. Apart from the weird poos, Adele had always been completely fine, so as I looked around at all the other much sicker people I began to see we wouldn't be seen for quite a while. I went and changed Adele's nappy, and her poos were starting to get more and more yellow and back to normal each time. So, after talking to DH and then talking to the nurse who checked us in we decided to leave. A bit of a waste of 2 hours, but it's so hard to make that judgement on how cautious to be. I was pretty paranoid about Adele catching something from someone in emergency anyway!
As the day progressed Adele's poos got more and more back to normal, and by Monday morning they were completely normal again and have been ever since. So, as best we can tell she just swallowed heaps of blood during a feed (must have damaged my nipple or something) and it took a couple of days for her body to get rid of all the excess iron or something.
I had a MCHN appointment on Tuesday and talked to her about it then, and she basically said that if it's a random one off thing like this, she wouldn't worry. She's otherwise fine, and she'd only be concerned if it kept happening or Adele became unwell.
So, that was our big drama for the weekend! Adele of course was happy and healthy and completely oblivious to her mummy and daddy worrying about her!
We had Adele weighed on Tuesday too - she is a hefty 6.06kg, which meant she had again put on over a kilo in 4 weeks, and over 2 kilos since birth! She's such a big bubba, on the 97th percentile - yikes! She's pretty average length though.
Adele and I have had a very busy week this week. We went out to dinner with my mum's group on Tuesday night, then out to a chocolate party on Wednesday night. Tonight we are going to see my little sister's production of Aida. I'm hoping Adele just sleeps through the whole thing!
I better go as Adele has woken up. I'll try and get back to do personals soon!

Does anyone else feel as though there is a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any minute once you have put ur baby down for a sleep???! U just wait for them to wake up and need u again! U wldnt believe it.. just as i finished writing that guess what! Sienna woke up!! haha. I have put her on the couch next to me and shes happy for now watching channel v, lets see how long this lasts!
While im on the subject of sleeping, she is only ever sleeping for 40 mins and then waking up again during the day, she will stay awake happily for about half an hour, get grizzley and tired again so i have to put her back to sleep! It feels as though i spend my day trying to get her back to sleep! I read that babies sleep in 40 min sleep cycles and if they cant self soothe themselves into the next sleep cycle they wake up but are still tired. Has anyone else found that there baby just naps during the day??? Its frustrating cos only a couple weeks ago i was wandering around the house for hrs on end not knowing wat to do with myself cos she was having such long sleeps.. and now its impossible to get anything done!! Like they say just when ur getting to know ur little one they go and change everything!! :)
Kts- Sienna is a super quick feeder, she only feeds for 5-10 mins so i dont have a chance to offer her the other side. I have a very strong letdown though so she gets alot in that 5 mins!! If my boob still feels a bit hard afterwards i feed off that same side the next time so she is getting all the fatty milk as well. Thats weird that ur little man doesnt like the left side.. even if u start him on that side is he still fussy?? Maybe the flow isnt as strong??
Sterla- Did u get to the drs?? I really hope the bleeding has stopped and Adeles poos are back to the normal lovely yellow colour :)
Sahbear- So is E still sleeping 9 hrs at night?? U lucky thing if he is! Sienna has done maximum 6 i think. Hope his cold has completely cleared up now!
Leesa- How much does Bree weigh for the nurse to think she was 4 months old??!
Shelley- So funny bour ur grey pube!! :lol: So having a baby has been a little stressful??! :) Oh and bugger bout AF coming :( Altho it does mean that ur fertile again!! Except Im probably the only weirdo that wants to have another baby asap! It will be a good thing if af doesnt come for another 6 months or so, so i have no choice but to wait! I actually think i just want to be pregnant again.. im not sure if i cld handle having another baby anytime soon, with the way Sienna has been in the last couple days i cant imagine having another child to look after at the same time as a new baby! I dont even have any time to pay attention to our doggies!
JMO- Another one (as well as Sterla) with a power feeder! A few ppl have said to me, so how long does Sienna feed for.. 45 mins?? Um no 10 mins if we are lucky! I was a little worried but shes putting on lots of weight and lots of wet and pooey nappies so she must be doing alright :) I also think its a laziness thing.. as soon as my letdown stops and the milk stops flowing so freely and she cant just gulp it back she kinda just starts playing around.
How did expressing go?? Are u doing it so u have some in the freezer as backup?? Ive been meaning to do it incase dh has to look after S oneday and needs to settle her. Ive only got a manual one though and it takes forever! I got around 70mls one time but it took like 30-40mins! And my hand got sore!!
Ezymay- Have u both gotten over ur colds?? I hope so!
AFM- A couple of u wld know from FB that yesterday was a shocker for us.. Sienna just wldnt sleep allday! But she was so tired and grizzling the whole time. (thinking she may have had a bit of an upset tum tum cos by the end of the day her poos were a bit greenish and had tiny bubbles in it) Very frustrating. We were out and about for a little bit in the morning though so it wldnt have helped moving her in and out of the car constantly. So today we havent done anything, we're being homebodies!! Like i said earlier though shes still not sleeping for very long. Right now i am trying something new (by the way this has taken me like 2.5 hrs to write cos ive been trying to get Sienna to have a nice long sleep.. it hasnt worked!) I have brought the pram inside and pushing it and pulling it back with my foot.. and shes been asleep for 15 mins so far! I never wanted to have to do something like this but if it means she gets a decent sleep and wakes up happy then i will do it!! I just cant believe how different she is this week to last week! Oh well... shes sleeping alright at night time so thats the main thing.
Does anyone else have to rock etc. there babies to sleep during the day or am i the only stupid one?? I have started just dancing around with her to music and it normally puts her to sleep in about 10-15 mins, it wld be alright and worth it if she stayed asleep!! I really wish i had a baby that i cld just put in the cot and know they wld put them selves to sleep.. but that wld be too easy hey! (and it wld probably take a lot of tears!)
I loved having dh home last week, he did the 'putting baby to sleep' duty every day.. it was so nice!

Jaycee- Wow a whole year for things to feel ok whilst DTD??! Golly gosh.. poor me and dh! I dont think its very enjoyable for him knowing hes causing me pain! Although its not that painful or we wldnt be doing it.. just quite uncomfortable!
Im glad im not the only one with a 40 min napper! Is he normally happy between naps?? I reckon Sienna wld be happy all day if she cld be carried around all day and sleep and wake as she pleased!
I cant co-sleep with Sienna, I feed her in bed and sometimes try and slide back down with her to go to sleep rather then putting her back in her bassinet but she normally wakes up after a short time squirming around until i have to feed her again. So neither of us get a good sleep! After about 5am she comes into bed with me quite happily though, the last couple mornings ive just been able to leave her next to me with her own little cover and she ends up falling asleep again for a couple hrs which is nice (dh has been away otherwise i wldnt be able to do it!) I loved the newborn days where she wld sleep on me for hrs without all this squirming! Altho i still never had a really good sleep cos i wld worry about smothering her or something. Its nice now knowing she is all safe in her bassinet. Do u still sleep ok with him in ur bed??
Leesa- U just answered my question to u :) Wow! 6.7kgs!! What a healthy little bubba! Sienna is 5.2kgs and i thought she was a real little chubba wubba! She carries a lot of her weight in her cheeks too hehe :)
Sterla- Great news about Adele!! So glad to hear things are back to normal again. There poo can be a bit worrying cant it! A friend just msged me and said that Siennas poo yesterday cld have been funny cos shes only getting foremilk.. thats probably why she was feeding every couple hrs too. Im going to have to make sure she feeds more off each boob before changing to the next one.. especially since she is such a quick feeder! The other poor left out boob is going to be exploding by the time she has drained one probably! haha.
Anyway im really pushing it now.. Sienna has been whinging and grizzling a little while ive been writing this but shes ready to start proper crying now so best be off! :)

Reet - I have noticed that Henry sleeps in bursts, but I try to leave him if he stirs as long as he's not screaming. He generally goes back to sleep & I have been getting him to sleep for 1 1/2 - 2 hrs in between feeds. I hear you about the change in routine though, now that he is awake for about an hour after a feed, we invested in a automatic bouncer - he loves it! He can see me while I have brekky or lunch or prepare dinner - he can be in it for about 20 mins before he gets cranky. Also he has slept in the pram during the day since we came home. We live in a 2 storey house & I didn't want to be up and down stairs all day, so downstairs during the day he sleeps in the pram (which helps put him to sleep, don't have to do it for too long though) and at night he is in our room in a bassinet. I also thought that it would help him sleep through the night if he recognised the bassinet is his "night time" bed.
Shelly - BOOOO for AF! and :rofl:bahahahaha...grey pube! double whammy huh! I have tried the baby bjorn too, just around the house and Henry is not real happy in it. I am going to persist though because I'd like to be able to go out walking without the pram in nice weather.
Jaycee - your poor nipples must be getting a serious workout feeding every 2 hours...ouchie!
Sterla - so glad to hear Adele is back to normal.

Hi everyone else
So we went to see the MCHN on Tuesday - he weighs 4.9kg which means he has put on nearly 1 kg in a month YAY! Then yesterday he had his needles (I also had a whooping cough jab) & he was beside himself. The nurse was a bit rough I thought, but she was quick. As the first needle went in he screamed in 1 long breath, then held his breath for like 3-4 seconds and went so red in the face - but she quickly got the other needle in before he took a breath. Poor little man - he settled quite quickly, I just popped him on the boob while we waited to go home. The expressing went quite well the other day - after a feed I spent 5 mins on the boob he fed from & drained it (didn't get much), plus 5 mins out of the other side and got about 60ml. Only problem is I don't have many storage containers or bags - does anyone know where I can get cheap BPA free small containers to freeze EBM? It was quite easy with my pump - I got a medela swing electric pump...couldn't imagine doing it manually.

JMO: Sounds like Henry is doing well - a kilo in a month is awesome! Poor little guy with the needles though. It's so hard to see them in pain like that.
Reet: Your friend could be right about too much foremilk. When my milk first came in and I was quite engorged Adele's poos were like you describe. It's because they get too much of the watery foremilk and not enough of the fatty hindmilk which helps keep them full. It tends to make their poos quite green and explosive. I have only ever fed Adele from one side at a time because of that early engorgement, certainly helps.
I rock Adele to sleep some of the time. I either rocked or fed to sleep DS for a long time, until he was about 20 months - whatever works I reckon! Adele is funny - sometimes she needs me to help her get off to sleep, other times the rocking seems to annoy her and I put her down, she sticks her thumb in and goes off to sleep on her own.
Leesa: Whoa, go Bree! What a healthy bubba! :D
Jaycee: I occassionally co-sleep with Adele - less often now than I was. I was mainly doing it when she wasn't settling of a night after a feed, but now that she's a pro at sucking her thumb I find she settles better in her bassinett. Sounds like Kody is a great baby! Saw on FB that you've all been sick though :( That sucks. I hope you're all feeling better and getting some more sleep soon!
Shell: Bah to AF! I didn't get AF back until DS was 11 months old, I'm hoping for the same or longer this time! Lol about the grey pube! :rofl:. Hope the weather has improved :).

AFM: Adele giggled for the first time today! It was so gorgeous! DH was home for lunch which he rarely is. I was holding Adele and kissing along under her arm and belly. I noticed she was smiling a bit, so I kept doing it - then out came a little chuckle. She did it a few more times, so DH wipped his phone out and started recording, so we got it on video. I've uploaded it to FB too :).
Adele is going so well. She has done a few 7-8 hour blocks overnight now, but she's doing at least 6 hours straight fairly consistently. She's self settling a fair bit too, thanks to her thumb! It's so different to DS who didn't sleep through or self settle until he was 20 months old! Definitely not complaining! I've noticed Adele has started cat napping through the day now... well, except for yesterday where she basically slept the entire day! She must have been doing lots of growing.
***Ew! I just had Adele sleeping on me while I was typing, she had her her face smooshed into my chest, and when I moved her I noticed she must have had a blood nose (blood had pretty well dried). I guess she must have been too hot leaning against me!?***
Adele's cloth nappy collection is growing. She has 13 now, with another on the way! She's pretty well in cloth full time - through the day she is, but I put her in a disposable overnight. I might try her in cloth overnight soon - just need a good cover. Having the two kids in cloth certainly makes for a lot of washing, which we're struggling with at the moment with the cold, crappy weather - I still love it though :).
Late night last night - we were at a thermomix demo! DS didn't get to bed till almost 11pm! So, he is definitely in need of a good sleep today. I'm hosting a thermomix demo on Saturday now - and we will probably buy one (thank you baby bonus!). If you've never heard of them, just type it in google, should come up ;).
Anyway, I better go. I hope you're all well :grouphug:.

Hosted our mothers group meeting today, went quite well. Jacob was so good! He's having big feeds and big sleeps at the moment...
Will write a proper response on Thurs - am out all day with mum tomorrow doing bulk purchases at the cash and carry for restocking on supplies, then having a wax in the evening! I look like a yeti! Grey pube be gone! ;)

shell - i was thinking the same thing. no posts for a whole week...guess we are all a bit preoccupied. lucky you at the hairdressers - mine is feral at the moment, must book an appointment. Enjoy a bit of a pamper before you go back to the pooey nappy reality we are all living in!
Not much to report for me. Had first mother's group session last week. Henry is the youngest in the group & the other girls seem quite nice although everyone was a bit shy first up. Henry is still sleeping through most nights - he did wake at 3.30 this morning though. I blame myself - decided to have a coffee last night when some visitors came over so P.S no caffeine for me in the future in the PM hours! Got a paedatrician follow up appt on Wednesday with the same doctor who saw Henry when he was born. He has a small hernia at his belly button to assess, but that is supposed to correct itself.

Sorry I have been absent, I have been busy with this work I am doing, and we also went away for the weekend.
We are going well here. Ethan is consistently sleeping though the night, we generally give him his last feed (Which some nights we have to wake him up for!) when we go to bed, then he will sleep til any time between 630am and 830am.
He is being a superstar for me during the day, if he is awake while I am working he is kicking around on one of his activity mats, or watching the tele (!??) or listening to the music with me and talking away.
Thankfully this work is only 5 hours or so a day, and lot of that time, I am not doingas much as i thought i would at this stage, but I am available on call.
He is a bit of a windy bub at the moment, so if it isn’t all up before he goes back down to sleep, he isn’t a happy camper for a few minutes – but we know what it is so easily fixed.
I am feeling very blessed, he is absolutely adorable and a really good easy baby. I did say to DH on the weekend, we wont have any other children, as I am sure we wont be lucky enough to have another one as easily pleased and laid back as Ethan.
JMO – shame about the coffee, but I guess it’s a good compromise if you have a sleeping bub. Good luck with the dr’s apt, hopefully the hernia is resolving.
Shelly – Hope you enjoyed your time at the hairdresser, and how was the thermomix demo? I am so tempted to look into it, but I have to convince myself I don’t need anymore expensive kitchen appliances!
And your gray pube story had me in giggles. Your, photos of Jacob on FB are awesome too.

I really don’t know know how you do both in cloth. I keep considering it for E, but the washing in this cold/wet weather is turning me off.
Reet – How are you and Miss Sienna going? I saw your other thread, any improvements? What have you decided on doing? I have used the wrap me ups since Ethan was born, and it is good as he can still get to his hands, but doesn’t startle himself. I hope whatever you choose, helps you get some sleep at night.

I haven't been on for a while as I just don't find any time now. Phoebe is going well. We have had a bit of a woo hoo moment in that she is sleeping about 8hrs straight but from midnight onwards lol. We have a doctor appointment tomorrow to check out her fast heart rate again and they are also going to relook at her hernia. Unfortunately she has a bit of a cold so a blocked but runny nose. We are b/f'ing well and I'm also able to express heaps (yay). The only problem we have is with wind. I'm giving her infacol but she might need something else. Will get her weighed tomorrow. Have to go as she is screaming from wind pain. Take care all and hugs to all the LO's

KimB: Woohoo for long sleeps from Phoebe! You must feel so much more rested! Poor little thing with the wind though :(. Adele sometimes struggles with wind - it's so hard when you can't do much to comfort them.
Sahbear: Ethan sounds like a dream baby! I love seeing pics, he is so cute! Oliver is an awesome big brother to Adele. He has always had a really sweet temperament, so it's not too much of a surprise that he's so good with Adele. He loves having her around, kisses and cuddles her a lot and is always very concerned when she cries. He'll hear Adele cry, then say "baby crying" and tells me if she wants "booby" or is tired, lol. Adele seems to love Oliver too - she always watches him and tries talking to him. I can't wait till Adele is a bit older and can interact with Oliver more.
Two in cloth isn't so bad - it just means my nappy bucket fills up a bit quicker than it used to. The hardest bit is drying them down here in Tassie - for now I have to dry them on a clothes horse in front of the heat pump!
JMO: I hope your mum's group is going well. I love my mum's group - we met up this morning actually. It's been really lovely watching all the kids grow up together, and I have made some wonderful friends too. Now we're all onto our second babies!
Shell: I know, we've been very quiet in here! I guess we're all busy with our bubs :). How was the thermomix demo? We had ours last Saturday, and we decided to get one! Payment is being processed on Monday now... so we should have it in a week or so. Can't wait!

AFM: We're all good. Adele is still sleeping around 6-8 hours a night, then waking up for a feed, followed by another 3-4 hours. It seems to be around 4-5am she wakes up most nights - which is a little tricky because it sometimes means Adele wakes Oliver up. So, there have been a few early starts - but I tend to kick DH out of bed with him while I get a bit more sleep!
Adele is still packing it on - she was 6.6kg when we weighed her at home the other night. Such a pudding! She's feeding well still, though we have had a bit of a problem with the left side recently. I think the flow on that side is just super strong and fast, so she has a lot of trouble keeping up. She always seems to choke, and then come off crying/screaming. She goes bright red in the face, definitely makes feeding a bit hard. I think I need to experiment with different positions when I'm feeding her - to work against gravity or something.
Oh, and... DH and I finally DTD for the first time since I had Adele. I was so scared about it hurting, but it actually didn't hurt at all. The anticipation of it was worse than the act itself. The only thing is... we didn't really do anything about protection, and it had been so long that DH didn't really have much control of himself... so now I am desperately hoping I'm not fertile yet. Between me exclusively breastfeeding and not having had AF back yet, and also from DH probably having low fertility after the chemo and radiation treatment we should be right though... I should probably do a HPT in a week or so just to be sure though. The idea of being pregnant again this soon absolutely horrifies me!!!

Well my poor bubba has to have an echocardiograph done. Her heart rate is still to fast and they need to find out why. The referral has been sent to the hospital so now I just have to wait until they contact me. I have discovered to that I have a super fast let down and she is starting to drown in the milk ;) That probably explains some of the wind lol. She is gulping as the milk comes in and swallowing heaps of air. Even laying on my side is not enough to stop the fast flow. I'm thinking I might have to take her off the boob until the let down has passed. Poor DF is hanging for some touch but until the kids get out of our bed he is out of luck lol.
Sterla - Adele is certainly a good weight. We had Phoebe weighed on Wednesday and she has only put on 600 grams in 5 1/2 weeks (now 5.4kg) but she has grown a huge 7cm (now 64cm) so I'm expecting a weight growth very soon. How cute that she interacts so well with her brother. We to have the cooing and gaaing for the other kids. They love to get on the floor with her and talk to her. I will have to get my video camera out :)
Sah - I'm jealous that you have a great bubs lol. I still have days when Phoebe won't sleep anywhere other than in my arms.
Shelly - Never mind the grey pube lol I have been told in a very shocked voice "mum you have heaps of grey hairs on the back of your head" L'Oreal here I come pmsl.

Sterla - YAY for Adele sleeping 6-8 hours - seems most of the bubs in here are pretty good sleepers. Wow 6.6kg - you must be drinking fertiliser to have such a healthy bubba. I also have a super fast left boob milk let down - like it comes out of a pressurised hose, squirts all over the place! The MCHN told me to lay flat on my back & Henry sort of lays on his side/stomach across my stomach to feed. Since I did that he doesn't choke anymore. It's usually only an issue for the first feed of a morning (after 6-8 hours sleep). That might work for you.

AFM - Mother's group has been quite good. I've got to chatting with a couple of other mums and they seem really lovely. Henry was give a clean bill of health by the paediatrician - he now weighs 5.5kg, getting close to twice his birthweight. The doctor did think he might have a pinched nerve in his right shoulder because his right arm moves a bit slower than his left, so we have some stretching exercises to do. Not much else to report - have a good week ladies!

JMO: Lol, no drink fertiliser here! I have no idea why Adele is such a big bubba and stacking on the weight. DS was quite a little baby, and even now he's quite short and skinny. I guess Adele must have got a different set of genes, lol. I know exactly what you mean with the pressurised hose thing - Adele would come off and squirted so bad in the face! I have been trying to lean back a lot when I'm feeding from that side, and it does seem to be helping.
Glad to hear your mum's group is going well. Having friends with babies/kids around the same age is really great - I always found it so reassuring to come across other mums going through the same things I was.
KimB: Poor Phoebe :(. I hope you get some answers soon and it all goes well. Wow for growing 7cm!!! That's heaps - at Adele's last check she had only grown 1cm in 4 weeks (but gained a kilo). She must be due for a huge growth spurt soon I reckon!
AFM: Had a lovely morning visiting a friend who has a daughter a few months older than DS, and a baby girl who is 8 days older than Adele. DS played really nicely and the babies mainly slept - it's always so nice to get out of the house and have a good chat.
Adele is currently fast asleep in her rocker with her thumb shoved in her mouth, and DS is in bed, so I should probably go and get some housework done - oh joy :rolleyes:.

We got the notification from the hospital about Phoebe's echo. We have to go in on the 10/8 so fingers crossed all is well. Phoebe has shown no inclination to roll over at all :) lazy girl lol and she is starting to chub up so maybe she is putting on weight this time and not growing so long. She has also started to really bite down on my nipples when feeding and OUCH it hurts. No teeth in sight yet just hard gums but by golly she is strong when she does it. Just realised that I have been so naughty and not had my follow up GD test :blush: will have to do it soon. I think I'm scared of getting a bad result and being told that I have it permanently (silly sod I know)
Sterla - I am on f/b but very rarely these days. It got very boring lol but will look up the group. Or you can add me Kim Bartley my pic is a 4D shot of Phoebe :) I wish some of you ladies lived closer to me as I know next to no one in my town and all my friends have finished having their babies (just silly me kept going lol). It does get very lonely here. Would be nice to meet up for a coffee sometime.
JMO - glad Henry has been given the ok. He is a nice weight. Heavier than Phoebe last time I got her weighed.

Hey sah, yeah Kurri is near Newcastle. I don't get to Sydney very often as travelling with 6 kids is a nightmare :o but if I can get there will certainly look you up :) Phoebe has her appointment next Wednesday so we will find out then if anything needs to be done about her heart. Yes we are also having trouble with DD1 but her appointment is next Tuesday (really busy next week lol) so hopefully our GP can suggest some other aspects to help her. Things are really weighing me down lately - Phoebe with her ****y heart, DD1 with the eating disorder and drug use, the 2 kids with the diabetes, the preteen with raging testosterone levels :O and the 4yo being a 4yo lol. I need a big holiday :sigh:

Jacob isn't rolling all that much either, just from his side to his back, and vice versa. And he has the fattest thighs! Little chubba! So i'm glad he's not the only one :)
I do most of my posts on FB these days, but thought i'd pop in here to say hi to the ladies who don't get the chance to check FB.
I bought an amber teething necklace for Jacob, and I think it's working but can't be sure. It has however prompted some heated discussion on my FB status, the main sceptic being a non-child-wanting science-loving male IT colleague who, of course, know everything about everything :)
He's sleeping OK, not completely through every night, but at least 50% of the time. He's just above the 50% mark for weight so that's all good. We've started calling him fatty as an affectionate nickname so must really stop that before it becomes a habit!
I'm just putting the finishing touches to his first 3 months photo book, so am really enjoying that.
Oh well, time for lunch, wonder if J has finally gone to sleep, I put him in his rocker and turned on Jack Johnson nice and loud and walked away. Usually does the trick!

Yes we have been having some more challenges here. DD1 decided to move out because we wouldn't let her smoke pot. She has become seriously addicted and now thinks that it is a major part of her life. We realised that we had to let her go or she could have exploded the family. Not happy with her but not angry either. Just so disappointed.
Phoebes' echo was put off for a week as the sonographer was sick so her appointment is tomorrow. Hopefully we will hear some good news (it would be very welcome right about now). Phoebe is growing well and is in 00's and crawler nappies :o She is still a lazy little bubs though and won't roll over lol. We are still breastfeeding and co sleeping and enjoying it - well not so much when she follows me around the bed at night lol. We are also starting to go to bed a bit earlier. If I can keep this up she might be in bed at 9pm instead of midnight :o Hmmmmm sleep - I've forgotten what that is lol. Am off to get her weighed again today so will pop back in later and update with stats.

I gave birth to my first bub, a little girl, Quinn, on 29 April 2011 at Prince of Wales Private. She was just over 8 pounds (3.68kg) and 54cm - quite a solid little unit :)
I'm currently on mat leave and happy to meet up with any of you for coffee, walks or whatever else we can manage (!) around Darlinghurst, Paddo, Surry Hills, Potts Point etc ...

Welcome Darlos Mum! :welcome: Another baby girl - yay! The majority of babies from this thread are boys! My baby girl Adele is actually a May baby (2nd May), but I was due 29th April, so went through my pregnancy with most of the lovely ladies here.
Adele is going great. She's such a chubba! I think she was about 7.2kg when we weighed her last week, and she was 60cm long when I took her in for her in to the clinic at 3 months. She rolled for the first time yesterday - from tummy to back and only to the left though! She hasn't done it since though - those silly arms just keep getting in the way! I looked it up, and she rolled at almost the exact same age as her big brother - only two days later.
Adele is still sleeping fairly well. I'm only up once or twice a night usually, and I'm happy enough with that. I'm just hoping she keeps it up and doesn't go downhill like DS did!
I got my fancy new pram (Baby Jogger City Select) on the weekend and I am loving it so much! At the moment we have it so DS and Adele face each other, which means Adele can see me too. She seems quite happy in it. Now I just need the weather to clear up so I can go walking!
Wow we have gone quiet in here.
Not much to post really. I have been diagnosed with PND and am just waiting for an appointment at a place close to home. I am having more better days but still need some help coping. Phoebe is doing well and is such a placid baby (thank goodness). She has been rolling from front to back but not the other way. Still a lazy girl lol. We are back to feeding about 4 times during the night so I think she is going through another growth spurt. She is into 0's now :o and they are not too big on her either. I can't believe our babies are going to be 5 months old this month. Crazy how fast time has gone. Oh her echo came back ok. They also did some other test (can't remember what it was called - damn post baby brain lol) and that came back fine too. So my little one just has a faster heart rate than most.
