DB- how is work going?
I have brought Zoe 3 things for Christmas. All online from Big W. She doesnt need or want for much and with such large families she will get a heap anyway
Morning ladies...
Been quiet in here lately!.. I don't do the toys for Christmas from now!.... I can't think that far in advance!
All OK here... the girls seem to be finally over their congestion and coughs!....
Eleni is having a massive sleep today!! I know she has been wanting to do this over the last week or so, but with the blocked nose and coughing she hasn't been able to! She had her last feed 7:30pm-8:30pm during Master Chef! HAHA then she had her bath and was asleep at 9:30pm!!! She is still asleep at 7:30am!!! That's 12hrs since her feed and 10hrs of sleep!!!! :o:D:o Hoping it continues  then I can put Eleni in with DD1!!!
The question is what do I do with all the LEAKING!!!??..... It's usually OK until about 5am!... since she had totally emptied both sides before bed! Any ideas??? Will it settle if she continues you think?? what's everyone's opinion/experience with this??
Harri- thats sounds like a great sleep!!
No such luck here. I think I have the worst sleeper ever. Bassinet was a waste of money and the hammock only worked for a little while. She only sleeps on me or in our bed and we dont get a stretch longer then 4 hrs at the most. Only good thing is she eats and is straight back to sleep, no fussing. BUT now DH stupid snoring is so bad at the moment that while she goes straight back to sleep I am kept awake by the train running through our bedroom.
I just feel like im doing something wrong for her not to sleep on her own... or even just a bit longer. Considering she is the oldest in this group and seems like the biggest PITA too LOL, I know understand why they made babies so cute... I just have to keep telling myself she just feels so safe and secure with me and its really such a privilege to be that person for her.
Glad you're over the bugs and getting big sleeps Harri! :D I think the leaking will stop if she makes it regular, your boobs will know you don't need the milk at that time and slow down :)
We are onto our third cold now :( I am so over it! I'm going to get some olive leaf extract this afternoon for DS and try to boost his immune system up over the holidays in the hope he won't bring home every bloody germ from pre-school! :crossfingers:
Beatrix you're not doing anything wrong she just needs her mum for extra comfort. She sounds like my DS3 he was the same, he still sleeps with me now, sorry if that freaks you out. I have his single bed in next to the queen size. It's just easier that way. He sleeps through now though, mostly, he only wakes to make sure I'm still there lol. He was still waking every 2 hours until he was 2 and didn't always settle without fuss either. I was so tired I didn't think I'd survive at times!! Georgia seems to be a bit easier than DS. The past couple of weeks we have had lots of nights where she sleeps 5-6 hours from about 9pm, in her bed!! :D then does 2 lots of 2 hours after that. The other nights she reverts back to waking every 2 hours like last night. I am thinking last night was because the cold was coming on and she needed the extra milk. So much better than DS though!! Through the day she is terrible :( Power naps, sometimes only 5 minutes at a time. It is really hard to get anything done. She also doesn't really like the Ergo. DS would sleep for ages in the Ergo and I could get stuff done, but it makes no difference if you're holding her or not if she's not going to sleep more than 10 minutes she just won't :wall:
Oh Bea :( All I can say is Ive been there (Stellan) and it does eventually end and they learn to sleep on their own. Its so hard though when all you want is just a decent 4 or 5 hours of straight sleep without having to resort to holding a baby in an awkward position.
Can DH take her one night and let you atleast get a decent block of sleep?
He doesn't feel comfortable sleeping while holding her and he sleeps so deeply too he doesn't even wake when she does in our bed next to him!!
We ate off to the specialist again today about her birth mark. Needs monitoring often as its a rapid grower, bout the size of a golf ball now. Expensive appointments!!
Beatrix - my daughter is 21 months and stays in her cot until about midnight and then comes in with us. Most nights there are four of us in our room as Logan has his cot in there too. We are thinking about buying a one bedroom apartment and getting rid of our home! Lol. Not really. we live in hope. We are hoping BD will go into her room for longer soon. We love the cuddles and she sleeps for 12 hrs though.
Logan has been fussy during the day. He is enjoying being held to sleep. Impossible to maintain though. He is having his last feeds for the day at 8pm and at 11.30pm and then sleeps until 5.30am. I'm still exhausted though.
Harri - I've had continuous problems with leaking. The only way I avoid it is if I wake at 2-3am and express otherwise, like today, I leak. I am so tired of wearing a maternity bra and breast pads to bed. My boobs never get a break. I hate bras. Maybe I'll turn hippie and stop wearing one when breastfeeding has finished! Lol.
DB when you express how long do you do it for and how much do you get? If you don't mind me asking lol
I have a Medela swing single pump. I love it. It takes ten mins and I always get between 150mL and 250mL. My big boy has 200mL in one sitting sometimes. The only painful thing is having to clean the equipment afterwards.
New thread mummies!!!!! HERE
