Oh yuck Beatrix! I hope you're better soon and Zoe avoids it. I'm slack at night too I fall asleep feeding, but G feeds so often I think it's easier that way for now. G didn't roll once for weeks after she did the first few, then when she started again the other day she does it just about every time I put her on the floor. Of course she still yells for me or stats crying then because she's on her tummy grrr no attempt to even turn back over. So Zoe might keep it up now too.
G's cold isn't much better another crapper night than usual last night poor thing, but she's been asleep now for just over an hour so obviously she feels yucky and needs some extra sleep to fight the bug. I wish I'd known I would have gone and had lie down with her.

Happy belated Birthday, Willow!
Sorry to hear you got your period back to coincide with your birthday. That bites. I hope you managed to have a great day despite that though.
Logan has had a rough week. My placid laid back little boy has been grizzly all week. He's fussing almost every feed and grumpy unless being held. I'm exhausted. House is a mess and visitors coming tomorrow for the long weekend. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the juggling act.
-
Thanks DB :)
Crazy busy here too visitors and all sorts of stuff going on. Cranky baby also, two bottom teeth cut through last week as well.
-
Db- hope Logan is going better!!
Willow- teethies!! Yay. We are cutting our top too now I think. Little turd bit me hard this morning!!
6 months old yesterday and first trip to the zoo was a success but I think she was slightly over stimulated as she didn't sleep well last night and really relied on me to comfort her.
Have got my 30th and her naming say next month so lots of planning going on.
Still no signs of my AF arriving so happy with that!! Can not remember when it returned with dd3... Mind you I do hate the waiting came and the fact it can arrive anywhere anytime!!
-
Man I wish this baby wasn't such a pain to get to sleep and stay asleep!! Anywhere but in my arms.
She is getting to heavy for the constant rocking!!
Why won't she sleep on her own!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi ladies..
No AF here yet either..!
DB- Hope things get better for you!!
Beatrix- :( sorry that Zoe isn't sleeping much....that is so VERY difficult! You didn't do anything wrong, you will see that it's just her personality!... That is exactly how my first was... she changed once she started crawling/walking...!! I used to wonder the same thing as you every day!
Willow- Happy Belated Birthday!!! WOW on the teeth... we still don't have any!! No jealousy here... but she definitely knows what she wants to do and she's getting frustrated that she can't get to where/what she wants!
These days the second I put her down she's on her belly....she then stays there until she gets frustrated and then when I turn her back over she cracks it at me! HAHA
These days Eleni has 2x 1hr naps in the morning and then about 45min-1hr nap in the afternoon.. that's it!.... she's asleep for the night between 7:30-8am usually! She wakes once or twice a night still depending...! Lately she's been waking at 5am chatty away and calling out from her cot!! :o then it's been taking 30min-1hr to get her back to sleep then it's time for me to get up!! arg! Don't know what's with that!!
On another note...Chickenpox is going through the school at the moment!! :shakehead: I SO don't what THAT coming home!!
-
Eleni has decided she likes to sleep on her side!! Anyone elses???
-
Harri- Zoe does too sometimes!!
Well last two night only one wake up and sleeping in her cot!! also she is starting to roll more often too!!
Poor thing is being dragged house hunting all weekend every weekend too... in out of the car, driving me mental but we need to buy a bigger house
-
Beatrix- well one to miss Zoe for sleeping in her cot!!
What time do you put them to bed for the night and what time do they wake up?
I find this effects how many times Eleni wakes up! I try to get her to bed after 8pm, but sometimes she just can't make it!... if she goes to bed between 7pm-8pm she'll wake up twice (2am and 5:30am approx.) if I can keep her up until past 8pm she usually wakes only once at about 3ish then at 6:30am.

Cant believe how fast 6 months has gone by!
Nothing much happening here. Wilder is quite talkative and I think we may have a first word but Im going to wait and see if it comes up alot before I call it. He has finally showed interest in solids so we are introducing those. He is rolling around, grabbing his feet, squealing when he is happy/excited. No teeth yet. Still sleeping through 9pm-6:30am.
He had his first swimming lesson today which was a hit!
-
Well Zoe might be sleeping but I'm not... I think I have a bug or virus. I have the shakes/shivers and have been vomiting/dry retching but I don't feel nauseas at all it's really odd.
-
That sounds horrible Beatrix :( I hope it's short lived and doesn't get worse before it gets better.
Sounds like Wilder is doing great Freya :D
Harri Georgia quite often sleeps on her side she has done for a while. She seems to prefer to start of on her side then rolls to her back after a while.
-
Thanks Willow. Much better now.
Zoe had her 6 month check today. 8.5kg and 68cm long. Growing well and still breastfed so happy with that.
Starting to love her food now too.
Last night I was also able to put her down and she went to sleep on her own!!!

Hi Everyone. Im back at work this week. I didn't miss it at all. I miss my babies so much. Logan is so much better - five days of grizzles was enough for me.
How did everyone's babies go with Daylight Savings?
Logan now goes to sleep at 6pm and wakes up at 10.30pm (if he doesn't wake I give him a dream feed at 11.30pm before I go to bed) then sleeps until 3-4am and then up for the day by 7am.
We've only just offered solids - farex and sweet potato so far. He screws his little nose up but grabs the spoon for more. I think he just likes chewing on the spoon. He eats a lot of farex.
Has anyone started giving their baby water yet? I can't remember when it's supposed to be offered. I need to research. I remember reading a medical journal last year and it said that giving baby too much water too soon can cause seizures. It scared me off and we delayed it for a while with BD2.
I'm suffering from insomnia at the moment. It's driving me crazy. I didn't go to bed until 3.30am this morning and then it took me an hour to fall asleep. BD2 was in our bed because she's been clingy with a niggly cough (only at night) so I propped myself up with pillows and cuddled her so she could sleep. I've been useless at work today.
Speaking of work - I'm feeling very pressured to stop expressing at work which would mean I would lose my supply. I can't prove it though. One of my supervisors keeps setting me assignments that make things awkward but she always seems to cover her butt when it comes to the crunch. I'm only just making enough milk for Logan. I'm tired and over her bs so she may just cop me telling her where to go tomorrow. I hated going back to work so early but we had to due to financial commitments. I'm going to look for a new job in the same profession. It may take a while but there are positions out there if I look hard enough.
Vent over.... have a great week!
-
Beatrix I'm very jealous about ZOe going to sleep on her own, but yay for you! :leap: Glad you're feeling better too :D
DB Go for gold telling your supervisor where to go! I hope you find another job ASAP :crossfingers: Georgia doesn't have a hard and fast routine so daylight savings wasn't too big an issue. Not sure on the water, I don't think it's vital while still BF, maybe offered a little with a solid food meal I guess. I think the general rule when still BFing is BF first then food, that way they are hydrated and nourished so they don't miss anything when first introducing solids. I didn't hear anything about seizures from too much water :o Where dis you read that? I might have a look.
No huge interest in food here yet. I was hoping she would love it eat big right away and start sleeping, but nope, no such luck :( Oh well it didn't make a difference with DS3 so no surprise now either. She gave a rusk a good go today, not that I class that as food really.
-
Willow- Solids don't guarantee sleep!! Eleni eats 3 BIG meals a day including fruit or dessert after... loads up on milk morning, afternoon, evening! AND still wakes up once or twice a night depending on what time she's gone to bed!!! The health nurse reckons she has a fast metabolism! If that's the case, she's taken after my husband and DD1 which is awesome for her!! ;)
Beatrix- glad the sleeping is getting much better!! :D AND good growing by the little miss!
Freya- Glad all sounds perfect in your world!! :D
DB- you go girl!!... do what you got to do!! I give water to Eleni with meals, I mean how much water do they REALLY drink at this age... and then milk in between as a snack or if she's thirsty! When it is HOT I offer her a little water!
As for us, we've had needles and six month check.. Eleni is a petite 6.66kg and 63.5cm long! haha She's a rolling machine as is definitely getting ready to crawl!! She's sticks her bottom up and moves her legs ready to go, however hasn't worked out what to do with her hands yet and face plants! haha poor little thing!
SO.. I ask the ladies with older kids, how do you baby proof their toys??? opinions please~!! :D
-
Oh Harri I know food doesn't = sleep! Didn't help DS3 one little bit he still woke several times a night until he was 2 lol I just had to keep a glimmer of hope for Georgia, but alas, no, well not that she's even eating enough for it to make a difference yet anyway.
As for baby proofing the older kids toys, I must say I was very slack with that with my older two, and will just try to make sure there are no tiny bits on the floor when G starts crawling. Trying to explain why to DS3 is hopeless because he knows everything and knows better than me  So I think I'll just have to do regular checks and pick ups and hope for the best.
-
DB- hope you got a result from the chat with your supervisor.
Willow- Zoe took a while to like her food but now she loves it. She has some banana in the mornings and the veg for dinner sometimes with some apple/berry purée after that.
Harri- what a little mini you have there!! Lol prob so tiny compared to my giant.
As for me- well I was getting better but I have a bit of a scary time in the last week. I have been getting heart palpitations and very heavy chest feeling. I had a dr app on Monday and had to have a ECG and bloods taken. He rang the next day and I am back here now waiting for my results slightly worried. He did say something about a viral infection so hope that's just it... I'm guessing if it were bad I would have been sent to the hospital.
