That sounds horrible. I haven't had to deal with the gun thing yet but I'm pretty adamant that my kids don't need toy guns. Will be interesting to see what happens when the family does water guns at Christmas...

I tried the toilet thing but it didn't get rid of anything so I must not be doing it properly. I will work something out, it is just awkward until then.

Hi ladies. Gosh it has been hard to get on the laptop. I will read back through soon hopefully. I hope your all going well. Bubbas growing beautifully I bet.

DS is such a wonderful baby given everything he has been through.
We still don't know what happened to DS. We were very lucky to get him to the hospital when we did, we could have faced a very different outcome even by waiting a couple of hours. His sodium levels were so high they were worried about brain damage and his blood sugar were so low and he was classed as septic. He had milk jaundice that was not to bad but treated too. He had urates in his urine even though he kept weeing. He also lost a lot of weight very quickly. Thankfully all testing they have done has come back clear, even though I would have liked answers the main thing is he is getting better. Our biggest issue is getting weight on him now. It has been a very slow road with steps forward followed by steps back. This week has been good though so I am hoping we are over the hurdle and from here on out his weight goes up.

Glad to hear things are looking up Kazzo.

We (kids and I) are all sick. I have a feeling I've got tonsillitis again. Tends to happen when I get run down. I was one bout away from having them removed when I was a kid but the threat scared the disease away. It has just started up again since I've had the kids, normally about the two to three month mark. I think once they get down to a longer sleep at night, my body relaxes and lets the germs in. Hopefully the cold doesn't develop into this for the kids. Doctors appointment tomorrow morning.

Hope things are okay after your situation the other day ca plane

Hugs Kazzo, sounds horrific. Hope you are out the other side now and things improve.

Tonsillitis is bad too Foss, virtual hugs to you too.

We're ok, Stormageddon on a growth spurt so feeding more again, can't complain though. I'm just grateful all is ok with him and Liebling. Also how much my Church family are a family and help me with my boys whenever, wherever. I'm very blessed. Even just sitting with Liebs when taking the bus so I know he's not getting up to anything when not sitting with me. Can't imagine parenting without other people now. Thankfully counting my blessings helps me just feel sad for that other woman, who clearly does not have help or support and clearly needs it. We all do.

I'm with you on that ca plane- support from family or community is invaluable! My partners mum just came to baby sit so I could go to the gym for the first time in months! I had a 30 days for $30 voucher on the back of s shopping docket so I thought why not?! It expires tomorrow so had to go today!
Glad things are improved for your little one kazzo.. I would feel the same, grateful for the all clear but I would like a reason for it happening.
Foss hope you have developed tonsillitis by now. So many people have been sick around us.. I feel like I've been fight in something off and i am managing to keep it at bay.. for now!

How's everyone doing? Are you still going to the gym, Danie?

First tooth nearly through here. Poor mite is a bit less than happy about it.

Oh dear. We have teeth moving under the gums but not near coming through yet, which is okay.

I'm starting an 8 day contract. About 10 hours a day but big $ so it means we can go on a nice holiday in October. Silently freaking though. Have a nanny 3 days, grandparents 2 days and hubby 3 days. Also have 2 swimming lessons and 2 music classes in the mix during the period... off to get started on it now.

I did hug tigger for a little longer before bed tonight.

Wow, that's going to be a long slog, Foss. I wouldn't be able to manage that. Heck, I can't even manage one 6 hour day next month. But then, having grandparents help out would be fab.

I have started Stormageddon sleeping in his room now so I get quality me only sleep. So Liebling wakes up crying at night last night. Not impressed. He remembers nothing of it today. Even says he didn't wake. But he did. Stormageddon still wakes twice overnight and I had to get out of bed three times thanks to Liebling, not once. Grrr.

Well... not sure about the grandparents. After getting there this afternoon to pick up the kids, they have now flaked on Monday so im going to beg the nanny to come again. Loving it so far!

Not good that you were woken three times. Tigger woke once last night and I brought him into bed with me. I was feeling guilty about leaving him today. We seem to get a full night sleep through for a few nights then a few nights with wake ups. I don't know why but I don't mind if I don't need to work.

Are you close to solids yet? Tigger isn't showing any signs yet. Although piglet didn't either then ate a raspberry off my plate at 4.5 months. Cue baby led weaning...

Re: Babies Born ~ April 2015

Boo to grandparents flaking! MiL did that to me, couldn't have Liebs when she said she would, but would have Niece twice a week.

Solids, Storm is very excited about meal times and tries to grab food, but misses. He does the puppy dog eyes at anyone eating too. He puts stuff in his mouth, but can't sit up alone, so that's a big danger sign to sayno solids. Liebs started blw by eating my apple, so seems to be a trend!

Oh, trends, I figured out a birthday trend for my boys. Liebling was born 13 2 and Stormageddon on 14 4. 132 is 11x12, 144 is 12x12. Maybe if I have another, birthday can be 13x12 or 15 6. Hmmm, mid June. Likely will sit an exam on 16th birthday. I can do without that!

The flaky reason was to take one of the other grandkids to an appointment because the sil can't be bothered. DH is irate with them. This is a potentially lucrative client that , if I do a good job, could mean I don't need to go back to full time work and earn just as much in a quarter of the time.

Tigger is almost sitting up. He doesn't slouch in the high chair anymore. Love the numbers!!!!

I'd be mad too. Hope this client works out for you.

Stormageddon is a mover, not a sitter. He can wiggle and roll his way from Daddy to Mama over the distance of 1m. That really impressed me last night.

Yay for movement. I'd like tigger to wait another few weeks before he can squirm that much

Re: Babies Born ~ April 2015

    Hey mamas,
Sounds like things are going well for you all..
Kazzo, how is your little one?
Foss, How are you or have you coped with that ten day work contract? I couldn't imagine doing that at the moment.. My little one is going well.. growing fast, smiling, laughing, so interactive, its so much fun! She can sit up and hold her head up but gets wobbly and rolls off to the side after a few seconds. And she did her first roll from back to front last week..
She still wakes anywhere from 2.5-4hours at night for feeds.. geez, I thought that part was going to get easier, longer stretches etc.. but not yet for us! We are going to attend 'sleep school' on friday to see if they can offer some better tips on stretching out those sleep periods.. Otherwise we are going well..
CA Plane, I did my 30 days at the gym, I did maybe 2 classes a week and gosh it feels good to move my body again, but geez, my thighs and butt were in agony for 4 days last week after a hard core circuit class! I think I am going to stick with jogging with the dog whenever DH is starting work late or off work, and some pilates classes here and there. So grateful the weather is starting to warm up a bit, makes me so excited for spring and summer to come!
Millie is a real squirmer also, she hates sitting in the Bambo chair thing and kicks around all over the place when on the nappy change table and on the floor under her play gym..
Its so exciting watching them grow and learn so much so fast... amazing little beings.

Re: Babies Born ~ April 2015

How is everyone? Danie , are you getting any more sleep?

Stormageddon is a baby of routine. A trip to stay with my mum messed up his sleeping. Back to 2 wake ups a night now, blessed relief. He prefers his own bed now, at least I'm not getting up every 2 hours to see to him.

Teeth not through yet. So much trouble from them. Can see 3 at the top and 2 bottom teeth below the gum now.

PiL still being their wonderful(!) selves, really running on smile and wave mode now. Liebling back to school on Monday, really looking forward to him having more structure too.

Re: Babies Born ~ April 2015

Hi ca plane. We have bottom teeth just under the gums and eye(???) Teeth just under the gums as well. What's with that!!! We have only just had them come through for piglet at 16-17 months. Maybe tigger is going to be a vampire.

We have started solids this week because he has started himself, grabbing my food and eating it. Well as much as a little fella can eat at this age.

I'm also working at the moment doing contract mostly at night from home. Today I did have to leave the kids with the grandparents to go to a meeting in the city. I took my pump and expressed while there. Iwas shocked that I only got about 40ml from the left side but 180ml from the right. I know he favours the right but was really stunned to see so little come from the left. Any tips on how to pump up supply in that side, short of feeding on that side first each time?

Re: Babies Born ~ April 2015

I hate teeth. And growth spurts. And 3am wakey time. Foss, I have no idea how you can get the time to focus on work, much less the mental inclination!

Stormageddon is still not up for solids. Gummed a cucumber stick for hald an hour, but got very little from it other than teething relief. I'm happy to wait, but he is so hungry all the time now. Don't know what's best. Just wait for him, I guess. Breasts should be working on supply and demand now, not storage, according to a few apps I have, so that may explain my hunger and your expressing not going so well, Foss.

Had a scare on Saturday, Liebling banged his head and it bled. DH out fishing, no phone signal. I have lovely friends who took us to casualty and turns out Liebs is fine. He's back to school now after the summer break and relief! I love him, but I also love the spaces in our togetherness. Stormy really misses him, which is sweet. Liebs is convinced that he has said "I love you" to him. Bless.

Re: Babies Born ~ April 2015

I think having two so close has helped with the mental side of taking on some contract work. I feel incredibly lucky that I'm doing the vast majority from my couch at night when the kids are asleep.

Little LL (tigger) has taken to solids really well. I was happy to wait but that is the way it is. I am starting toilet training with piglet so the timing could have been a little better.
