BS - Wow I love Eva's room! You've done an awesome job. I'm so jealous of all the space you have in your home. We have so much 'stuff' (want to use a stronger word but it'd just get censored) it's ridiculous. DH is a collector and comes from a family of hoarders  It bugs me no end that Amelia doesn't really have her own room. She does sleep in our room, but it'd be nice to give her her own space. If I wasn't ashamed of her room I'd post pics so everyone could see what I complain about. And you are looking gorgeous too! Can't wait to see pics from your photo shoot. Will you be getting pampered beforehand? Might be just what you need to feel as great as you look.
Alison - Just like every child is different, so is every pregnancy. Visiting a naturopath is a good idea though. Acupuncture can be good for MS too. I'm looking forward to the launch of Cutie Hooties. Good luck!
willow - :hello: Great to see you pop in, even if just for a quickie.
beany - Amelia is all over the place when she sleeps too. And before she goes to sleep. I'm not even thinking about putting her into her own bed yet. She's just starting to sleep well in ours, I want to enjoy that for a little while. Although I could do without the kicks to my stomach (and head and back lol).
suz - Good luck with the move. I hope it goes through smoothly for you. That's great that the boys daycare will be so close.
AFUS - Amelia's sleep has improved so much. I was hoping it would once she mastered walking. I don't know what I would've done if that hadn't worked. She still wakes for about an hour from midnight, but she has a good 4 hours before that and will sleep for 7 hours or so once she goes back down. On Sunday I swear I heard her say "hello daddy" when DH walked into the room. DH said he heard it too so that is officially her first sentence.
-
Hannah, What a lucky daddy to have that be her first sentence! The walking helps, huh? I found that Eva calmed a lot sleepwise too...not sure if it is just being more tired or something mental but prob a combo of both :) when Eva is not well she sometimes finishes the night in our bed and those kicks are no fun! but the cuddles are :) weird though, lately she can't go down in our bed which is prob good before the second gets here because she seems to want her bed.
We will see how she deals with the newborn in our room. She has been majorly clingy with me lately - it is like she feels something is up. The other day DH rubbed my belly and she started crying and ran to me pulled down my shirt and put her head on my belly. It was like she was bothered by the focus on my belly or trying to " protect me" or something. I wish I could see what was going on in her head!
I will be getting mani pedi wax and all that Friday and have a hair appt for Saturday so hopefully that helps me feel better - I have started putting some dresses aside for the shoot and I do have a few numbers that are pretty cool :)
I come from a family of hoarders and was one! It is so hard to declutter ones life. We don't realize how attached we are to material things until we are looking at them in bags and boxes ready to be thrown out. Since I moved out of my parents' I have been obsessively on the hunt for space and order - part of why my house is so spacious - once our kids are older or move out DH and I will prob redo the house in a super minimalist style - I like space and symmetry but with children it is just not possible to live in a museum! I found that small steps really help, like the kitchen or cleaning out the medicine cabinet :) don't worry too much about that - when you have more time you will get it done. If it helps, my closet is always a mess!
Ps, not sure if I mentioned but the upper molars have cut. Not sure if that is why but Eva seems to be sleeping better than ever in her big bed. DH even remarked that he wonders if the mattress is more comfortable or something since she goes down and stay down until morning. I am curious to see if she will sleep better through her next round of teething because of the bed or if we just got lucky on the timing when we moved her, and landed right at beginning of a calm painless period....
Waiting for DH to get back from walking the dogs so we can watch boardwalk empire - I am obsessed!
;)
-
BS - Yes Amelia's molars have all cut too which I think has helped with the sleep. As for Eva, it's not uncommon for toddlers to regress slightly when a new sibling comes. Friends of ours started toilet training their DD just before their DS was born but it all went out the window for a while when he came home. It's all part of the adjustment. Even if you have got lucky with the timing of her new bed, it's still a positive for when something does next upset her like teething.
Girls, I'm going to have a break from BB for a couple of weeks (I'll actually ask Astrolady to ban me temporarily since I have no self control). I'm going to take a couple of weeks off of work as I'm changing meds. I don't want to get to the end of the 2 weeks and I've done little more than sit on the computer. I'll still catch up with you on FB though.
:grouphug:

Gosh! So quiet since everyone's catching up on FB :) Thought I'd post here anyway, just to keep our thread alive...
BS - Love the photos of Eva's room and of you. You look radiant! We move very soon, should be less than a month, might even be before the end of this month. So no point in moving Ryan to a big boys bed before then.
Hannah - Good idea for banning yourself. Hope you get lots done and thanks for setting us all up on FB. Good luck with the new meds, hope they work out. "Hello Daddy" is so wonderful for a first sentence and that's fantastic that Amelia's sleeping better :D
Ali - I bought our toddler pillow from Ikea. Although Ryan isn't using it yet, I'm pretty sure Craig was at this age. Don't worry, I'm sure you won't have any dramas with your second pregnancy and chances are the MS won't be as bad. If it is at least you know what worked and can hop on the meds earlier. And don't worry about being an older Mummy and being 3kg heavier than last time, we're the same age and I managed to shift it all after Ryan. Think I surprised a few of my old workmates today when I went in to see my boss, none of them have seen me since I was 9 months pregnant!
Willow - We've fooled Harry with FB, but great to see you posting here too! So true about the different pregnancies, but I had forgotten how severe HG was for you with Harry
Beany - With the big beds, Craig and Ryan both move around quite a bit. Craig's legs kept getting stuck in the slats on the side of the cot and that's one reason we moved him. We bought him a racing car bed because it has high sides and he wouldn't be able to roll off and it's also very low to the ground so he could get in and out of bed easily. The 3 hour sleeps are amazing when they happen, but unlikely when they're on 2 sleeps a day. There might be more, you never know!
AFUS - Went to see my boss today. I wanted to talk to her about coming back to work on the 10th of May, but also to tell her that as soon as I'm back I'll be apply for jobs. It's not the job or the people, love both, it's the time and distance to commute every day. She was very understanding and I'll be sad to go, but now I can start applying for jobs. I also went in to my workplace and said Hi to my workmates, who I haven't seen for 18 months. Must've been a bit of a shock as the last time they saw me I was 9 months pregnant and now I'm 27kg lighter! Felt good.
-
Hey just thought I'd pop in here, same as you Suzi, just to keep it going :D Would be sad to see the thread go FB is handy but I still like BB!
So Suzi 1 more week until you go back to work, that must feel strange :)
Alison Harry doesn't use a pillow, I think DS1 did at this age, but Harry doesn't seem to like it. He sleeps in our bed so there are pillows there but he rarely hops up to the pillow. DS2 was a bit older as well.
Hahaha well Harry was asleep, now he's up it's BB for sure! lol
-
Admit it willow, any excuse to show your new avi. Not that I blame you...lookin' hot.
And I guess that confirms that Harry's BB radar doesn't work on FB :D
-
lol you got me! I am loving myself a bit at the moment :D Thank you for noticing.
Actually I think the two teenage boys coming in the front door rather loudly might have had something to do with Harry waking ;) I will test the BB theory again though.
-
Hey Girls, Thought I would post in here to keep our thread alive.
Hope everyone is doing well xx
-
Hey! I was thinking the same the other day :) fb is good but it's a bit sad if this one dies out seeing as it was the start of the group :D ...and the smilies are cute :D
-
yeah I miss the smilies too :)
-
I don't miss BB all that much, there's too many rules, I've been told off that many times and treated like a 5 year old lol.........I do miss the smiley's though. xx
-
Here Here Ali... to much crapola goes on, but it still is a good place for advice...can't complain about that!
-
I can't access facebook at work but I really need to talk.
I am fat and ugly, my husband wont touch me like he should and I feel like I am just this person who goes from A - B .. Im really down. Can't get up, plus I am at work and feel crap. Anyone out there?
-
 kanda. I'm at work but I'll be here if you need.
-
Hey Kanda   You've had such a hard time this pg!!! Sounds like you're both really stressed. DH is probably just super stressed and not feeling affectionate, I'm sure it's not because he thinks you're fat and ugly!!!!!!! omg you poor thing how much longer? ...Just checked your ticker 58 days I'm sure things will pick up once the bub is here and you can start to feel better. How are you going with the vit shots? Are they helping??
-
All finished the shots now... but I forgot to take my ED meds yesterday and today but still, I feel like crap and have for ages.... Just 3 more weeks of work but that's no big deal I dont know if I am going to enjoy being at home anyway after work.. just means I need to work harder with two kiddies to look after whilst hubby fixes up the house and goes for Mountain Bike rides......the only thing I don't like about work is that there is the entertainment & celebrity reporter who sits opposite me is due a week before me and she wears 6inch heals to work and is the most glamma mumma... make up to the hilts and beautiful clothes, free SK2 and I am sure there are free spanks somewhere there (maternity undies that suck everything in) so I turn up and feel like the frumpy 3 child mummy. Its really crap.
-
 I'm sure if her job was behind the camera, she wouldn't bother with the heels, makeup etc. I know you'd have to pay me to make that much effort everyday. I find heels too much effort even when I'm not pregnant. This pregnancy has been so hard on you, I think you're doing an amazing job just turning up to work at all.
Andy needs to lift his game a bit and make you feel more special. Maybe he just needs a little encouragement to know that it's alright to touch you. He might just be giving you space because he knows you've been unwell.
-
Thanks Hannah, He is so shy and just wants whats best, it's just if I try and ask I usually get rolled eyes or sighs then denial that he even does it.
I suggested that this weekend we go to a movie and dinner whilst Mum and Dad take our kiddies for the night... maybe that will be better.
everyone walks past and complements how amazing she looks and I just want to turn invisable as no one ever has said that to me this pregnancy. Poop.
