 Lysndan :)
saw this pop up so thought I might give an update. Miss A is growing well still. Shes had her first cold this week and that was definately scary, for her and for me! At times she had trouble catching her breath and she sounded like she was having an asthma attack. She couldnt feed properly and sleep only happened when there was absolutel silence and she was in my arms. It wasnt a nice cold thats for sure.
Today she is looking much better, still a little bit under the weather, but heres hoping tomorrow she is totally better.
We've mastered the art of chatting though, not really interested in rolling though.
Not much else really.
Hope everyone else is doing well :)
Oh Beans I'd be too afraid to fall asleep at night if H onor had a cold in case something happened. I dread the day she gets her first cold!
Hello to all the other lovely February mummies :)
LysnDan - hey :) i often think of you and your gorgeous little girl, miss reading your posts. Hope you and your little family are doing well.
beansbeans! - it's horrible when they are sick and there's nothing you can really do. Miss E had her first cold before she was even 2 weeks old thanks to inconsiderate family members visiting while sick :wall: Hope Miss A is all better now.
hi Ladylove how are you and your little miss?
We are doing ok, Miss E is a fairly "good baby" it's still the older 2 i'm having trouble with and with only 3 weeks until DP goes away i'm starting to panic about how i'm going to cope without him :(
Hope everyone is well it's very quiet in here all the babies are keeping us busy :)
Hi Blix! H onoris good. She is 8 and a bit weeks now ... I think I finally started to feel comfortable and relaxed about new motherhood around 5-6 weeks so it took me a while. I think I definitely had baby blues for almost that long. Now we have a good pattern, except she still catnaps in the day between 40-60 minutes per sleep. But I've just decided to go with it rather than trying to make her sleep longer as that's pretty much impossible anyway as she's always wide awake when she does wake up. At night she only wakes once normally- yay! Usually about 2-3am but she has done a few marathon sleeps, not waking up until 4:30-5am. I put her down around 7pm and she wakes up 6-6:30.
She is starting to 'talk' more- lots of gurgles and smiles. And she laughs in her sleep even though I've not once heard her laugh when she's awake! It's like subconsciously she knows how to laugh but she can't consciously do it.
Aww the subconscious laughing sounds cute, babies are so funny. Glad you are feeling more comfortable and relaxed. Sometimes it is just best to go with the flow as long as it works for you :)
Totally. She doesn't just drop off to sleep as it is- she always screams blue murder before a nap, regardless of whether she's in bed already or in my arms.
Gosh I've been a bit slack. Feel like a bit of a thread killer
Miss H and both of her siblings (YAY - not) are really unwell. Have had her at ED to rule out whooping cough this weekend (we don't have medical centres or after hours clinics here which is a pain).
On the upside she had her 8 week check on Friday and has put on 2kgs since birth. She's a little chunker lol. 5.2kgs and 57cm length (which is 8cm growth!!). She's a crap crap sleeper in the day, but she's developed her own routine which is nice and predictable. We've had school hols so am glad it's a bit quieter this week.
Blixie my DH works away permanently. As scary as it feels, it gets easier.
LL that's so cute her laughing in her sleep.
Even though H is #3, those smiles and giggles just make my heart want burst all over again. Love it.
Hi girls I haven't posted in such a long time! Since my dd was born things with my husband went down hill, his parents from India came to stay with us for 2 months.. And I made the massive decision to leave him. So here I sit with my gorgeous growing DD and making a new life for the 2 of us. Olivia is trying very hard to roll but hasn't quite got it yet! She does manage to be able to spin herself around though! She has been formula fed since about 3 weeks and does love her bottle! She smiles alot and lately has started doing huge laughs, melts my heart! She's been sleeping through the night for a few weeks too. I love her so much!
Sadly I'll be returning to work mid next month so she will be in crèche full time. Already having panics about leaving her :(
How is everyone else? I'll have to go back and catch up on everyone else's journey!
I can't believe it's been 3 months since our babies arrived!!
Now the last time I posted in here I was a total thread killer....here's hoping someone rescues me, but I'm going to post anyway.
Wow Lans, that's huge  Hope you have lots of support hun. I can't imagine the enormity, but well done for following your heart.
Holly isn't rolling yet either, and that's just fine with me...once they start moving I always wish they didn't lol. She has decided in the last week that I am never ever to rock her to sleep again. As much as I thought I'd love it, I'm actually quite devastated. On the upside, her sleeping has improved out of this world and when she is awake she's a happy smiley kid which is just lovely. She has been sleeping a whole lot this last few days and after going out of her 000s only at the beginning of last week when I couldn't squeeze them on any longer, her 00s are getting a bit short too :(. I guess she'll take after her big sister who is an amazon child (loooooong).
Hope all of you mummas and bubbas are well.
Hi Kim! I thought I'd post a quick reply so you haven't killed the thread lol!!
I can't believe how fast these bubs are growing.. Like Holly, Olivia busted out of 000 and even some of her 00 are in the squeeze side!
Since I've moved down to geelong I've been trying to figure a way to meet some other people so taken the jump to join a mothers group. I've missed the group with kids same she as DD & didn't want to barge in on an already formed group.. I'll be joining a group where the bubs are about 2 months old.. Only 6 weeks difference, hopefully should be good!!
Kim- I'm actually loving being by ourselves. Pretty sad actually, guess it means I'm really over the marriage. Looking forward to us girls forging a great path ahead!
Any idea when you'll be starting Holly on solids?
Please don't let me kill the thread!! Lol!! :)
No killing Lans :D
Good idea about the mothers group. I had one with a similar age gap for Darcy (DD1) and TBH you're all there for the same reasons so it really doesn't matter.
Solids will be about 6months. They keep moving the recommended guidelines but I did that with the other kids and so far we've had no allergies, intolerances bar a bit of peanut for Nate which he grew out of, no asthma, ear troubles etc. So basically that worked for us. I've only ever done BLS though. My kids didn't do baby food no matter how much I persisted.
Hi ladies! I hope you didn't think I just left the group for no reason. I haven't been able to log onto the forum for almost two months I think but all sorted now. I'll have to speed read to catch up with everyone's news but in the meantime - hello!
Lans I grew up in Western Vic. :)
Oh wait a minute- i've been gone for over a month and there's only three new posts?!
Lol not a proper reply.. But we've been but slack huh?! Easy read to catch up ladylove lol!!! Back later to do a proper post!!
Hi ladies, sorry I've been very slack! Most of us moved over to FB and have kept up the discussion on there. I think it's just a lot easier.
My little Emily is not so little now! She's just over 3 months and weighs 6.4kg now. She's still feeding pretty much 3 hourly during the day but at night varies between 3-7 hours. We've been really struggling with reflux and colic these 3 months but it seems - touch wood - that the colic is settling down. Hopefully the reflux soon follows suit.
Other than that she is generally quite a happy and content little girl and is a very alert baby. She's starting to find her voice a bit lately and is experimenting with all sorts of sounds. She's also worked out how to suck her thumb and she loves sticking her tongue out, so cute!
Wow Phe she's big! H onor is 15 weeks and about 5.5kg
Well ladies it's been a couple of months and no-one's posted in here. I'm a bit sad. Hope all your bubbas are well. Can't believe they are 6 months old already.
DD2 started solids with gusto. Bit of a shock after my last two were so slow. She still cannot roll over, but is OK at sitting unaided. She was 7kg and 66.5cm at her last immunisations.
Would love to chat with you all about our bubbas....don't suppose I could join the FB chat?
I know I'm so slack, even on facebook at the moment. But it's be awesome if you joined or people started chatting here again. I'm having issues with notifications on Facebook at the moment so miss half the stuff the ladies talk about there anyway.
Miss E is doing well not interested in purée baby food only wants to do the baby led weaning so when we're actually in a house and have proper cooking facilities and can do a proper grocery shop we'll be starting her with that. At her immunisations a month ago (she had them a month late cos she had a virus that lasted 3 weeks) she was 6.2kg. She rolls both ways and can get her arms in crawling position and her legs in crawling position but not at the same time haha when se gets her knees under her she pushes herself along on her forehead  silly little chook. She isn't sitting yet. She's doing everything slower than my other 2 but that's ok she'll get there eventually :)
Hope everyone else is well :hello:
Im the same I would love to share what DD3 is up to and all that stuff. I would love to join the fb chat/group too, if possible?
DD3 is onto solids, which she devours everything. She's sitting, but the same as your DD2 Kim, she wont roll over. She has rolled both ways, once or twice but thats it. Still no teeth here yet either. I can feel some bumps but thats all. I have had her next immunisations yet, shes been sick, actually we all have been, so got to get that sorted in the next little while.
Sorry I haven't posted here in ages - I seem to just use the FB group these days. If you want to join that group, search for 'Belly Buddies Due - Feb 1-15 2012' and you should find it. It's great to be able to chat and throw ideas around in there :)
Carly
Carly is it a private group? I can't find it on a search. Can you PM me a link perhaps?
Mmm... what's your name on FB? I could 'invite' you into I think..
Um I think I was in the group but left it as I had privacy issues with FB at the time. I'm not sure how/if I can rejoin?
What's your name on FB and we'll invite you back on? I can't believe how quickly time has gone since I last posted on here! Feels like 1 month ago (which is bad enough in itself), not 3! Sorry!
Emily just turned 6 months yesterday and is doing very well :) last Tuesday she was measuring and weighing in the 75th percentile across the board. She's been on Losec for her reflux and that has really helped but still needs it.
She's been wearing a brace for mild hip dysplasia for the last 8 weeks and an X-ray 2 weeks ago showed that it's all corrected now, but they just wanted to keep her in it a bit longer to make sure it stays that way. 3 weeks until her next X-ray where it's very likely she'll be able to finish with the brace. Yay! :)
She was only just starting to roll onto her sides from her back before the brace went on, so she's got a bit of catching up to do, but she is very eager to move and has been trying despite the brace. I think she'll do a lot in a short span as a big catch-up once it's off.
We've just started baby led weaning and she's a bit uninterested at the moment, but that's okay. She can just treat the food as toys for now. She is straddled over one of my legs to do so at the moment but we'll encourage sitting up as soon as possible after the brace goes.
Emily's gotten very vocal lately, especially today! I'm positive she said both "Mumma" and "Daddy" today, even if both accidentally. She's entering the babble phase I think :) and SO many smiles, giggles and raspberries, it's just adorable!!
DD is such a babbler too. She loves shrieking shrilly at the moment- definitely has a girl's vocal chords!
Oh and she cut her bottom two teeth at 5.5 months, is commando crawling (on elbows with legs sort of flipping about without being much help) but she is doing a crazy rocking hip thing which is what babes apparently do just before real crawling. She goes on her hands and knees and energetically rocks backwards and forwards. It actually reminds me of a birthing position!
Arg wrong post!
Is anyone still around in this thread? I'd love to 'stalk' you and see what your bubba's are up to - we're going to be fostering a little girl this age soon :)
Hiya! I'm here. Well Tapatalk said someone commented in here so I looked :) My little girl just turned 2 last week! Can't believe how quickly it's flown! She is a beautiful cheeky little delight. She's got heaps of language and is talking in 4/5 word sentences. Even though she can be quite naughty at times, for the most part I am loving this age :)
That's wonderful of you to foster! I hope you really enjoy looking after the little girl. When will you get her?
I'm here too! Today my DD (turned 2 on the 15th) was behaving as though she had PMS. It is an incredible age, emotionally a bit tumultuous but in a really inspiring way (when I've recovered from general exhaustion ;) ) because their emotional development and awareness really changes, sky rockets.
Hi, I'm here too!!!! Yayy!! I'm glad you ladies fired the thread up again!
Olivia is 2 as well and a little pocket rocket!
She's got loads of words, but the main one is mum.. Is varying volumes.. Generally LOUD!! Lol
