Ladies..If you dont mind I would love to pop in here as well! My Baby buddies group only has 2 other ladies(love them too) and I have been with you ladies for 9 months as well
So my little one was born January 23rd via c-section (breech) weighing in at 7.8lbs and 20inches long at 3:41pm
Lady love - good luck! Hope your little one makes an appearance soon!
The mrs- how's violet going? How are you healing?
Afm- Olivia was born after induction didn't work & was found to be too high/ not in pelvis. So off for a c-section. Dr did a great job & Olivia was bought into the world at 6:26pm on 1-2-12! Such an awesome birthday I reckon!! Suture line healing well & physically feeling ok with it. Baby blues have hit, talk about a rollercoaster of emotions! Having a good day today tho, yay!!! Am bf'ing which is a great surprise as I didn't think I'd be able too..
Hopefully we'll have some more baby buddies soon!!
Our son, Cameron Alistair, was born on the 7th February 2012 He was due on the 3rd so kept us waiting for an extra four days, but then arrived in a hurry! We arrived at the hospital at 8am and he was here by 9.30am, after only 18 minutes of pushing. A very quick birth! We were shocked to find I was already 9cm dilated when I arrived at hospital - I think the midwife was shocked too, haha. He's our first baby. No epidural needed, only gas. Unfortunately I sustained 3rd degree tears though and had to go to theatre after the birth to be repaired... so much for the drug free birth, when I had to have them afterwards! Oh well. I'm recovering very well and not in pain, it just feels uncomfortable. We came home after two nights in hospital and are all adjusting and settling in well.
We are both over the moon with our special little guy!
I hope you don't mind me joining this group as my little one was born on the 31st Jan and seeing I spent time as per The Mrs, I'd love to stay with this group.
My little Cooper was born via csect (low lying placenta) and I've just found out I've got an infection (extremely heavy bleeding) and started on antibiotics today.
Other than that Cooper is feeding like a champ. He had his two week check up today and is putting on weight well and a very strong baby.
Lans- my healing is going finally well! Im starting to feel like a normal person again!
As for everyone else..how are you and your babies getting along? Im EBF'ing and co-sleeping and find that Im very vulnerable to leaving Violet at all. I cant stand to be away from her for more than 30 minutes.
hey ladies, didn't realise this thread existed lol
Our little missy Evelyn Brenda was born on the 7th at 1:58pm weighing 3690g (8lbs 2oz). So she's already a whole week old lol She's a bit backwards with her days and nights and i'm not sure how to fix that or if i even can? So if any of you ladies have any ideas that would be greatly appreciated. It's petty exhausting only getting 4ish hours broken sleep a night...
*The_Mrs.* - we're BFing at the hospital they were trying to tell me i had no milk and to FF but it came in the night of the 10th so day 3
ShanD - hope your infection clears up really quick! Does it hurt? Is the only thing that changed the bleeding? Sorry for all the questions just it's one of the things i'm scared of with the whole c/s thing... The other was that they'd cut bubby, but i was assured that was "very rare" but they managed to give her a cut about 2cm long that they were going to glue but ended up just putting a couple of steri-strips on it.
Carly - wow, you're little one really was in a hurry to meet you! Glad you're recovering well.
Lans - Congratulations Yes, baby blues SUCK. I feel like a loony with all the ups and downs at the moment.
Our group is growing, great to see. Cameron and I are going well. BF'ing is going okay - sometimes he latches on quickly, other times he gets frustrated and then cries, pushes away, etc and that makes it a harder task to help him latch. We're getting there though. Sleeping is going well, he sleeps in 3 hours stints at the moment. Last night - or rather, early this morning - we managed a feed and had him settled in half an hour, which was great. Other times it can take three times that long... all part of the fun!
One thing we've noticed in the past 2 days is that if he is being held, he'll fall asleep and settle no problem but as soon as we put him down in his swing or bassinet or wherever, he'll wake up and whinge/cry. He's fast asleep when we put him down. Any tips on helping him stay settled if he's not with us? He does on a couple of occasions during the day, when he has his longer sleep, but if I want to put him down to have a shower or do the dishes, it just doesn't seem to work!
He is feeding every 3-4 hours, and maybe once a day only two hours. There is no night routines here other than I feed him in the rocking chair in dimmed lighting, but then he falls asleep quickly and doesn't feed well. Can't win lol!
Dumb question by a FTM... How and when will he start to sleep longer? I know all babies are different, I'm just curious.
Blixie - the blood loss was really the only sign, no pain etc. Although looking back now I felt slightly cooler in the two days before the really heavy bleeding started. I thought if I was to get an infection it would start earlier than two weeks after csect I'm just so sick of the bleeding, OB said antibiotics should kick in by tomorrow, so I'm praying it slows down. I'm so sorry your Bub was cut slightly poor little thing.
Carly - we are sort of having the same issue with Cooper although prob not all the time. As much as it kills me to do, last night we let him sook for a short time in his bassinet and he drifted in no time. I look forward to hearing others feedback too.
AFM - I'm b/f also, and it's going well, we can't really complain with that. This bleeding thing is getting me down a little bit, but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel soon. Cooper is feeding 3-4 hourly, can I presume once he gets a bit bigger he will sleep longer? He was born at 7lb.
