Tillie, I hear that! my boobs are like a size F and have been the whole pregnancy. The best position I have found is sitting bubs upright under my arm (like football) and having her face me when I attach seems to stop the grazing
Hope everyone is well, I dont usually have visitors till after 4 weeks I am a bit selfish with my time with my family and I am wary of exposing bubs to too many germs :)

Gee I hate getting up at night. I know it doesn't last forever (I was extremely spoilt with DD1 - no more night feeding from 16 weeks), but I look at DH sleeping peacefully beside me and just wish lol. Oh well, it's prob the only time of the day I can cuddle DD2 and not have DD1 get jealous....
Chody: i struggle with nighttime feeds... DS didn't sleep through till about 8-10 months!

We had a pretty good night woke at 12.30 then 6! I feel pretty good :)
DH is sleeping in the spare room at the moment which I think is helping as I am not under pressure to keep her quiet. He works early morning shifts so needs sleep which is fine. He takes her when he gets home as he misses her.
Last night we had the hugest green poo so of course I googled. Could be from too much foremilk... I am blaming all our visitors lol as I am rushing to feed her during the day so people can have a cuddle.
I just put out a no visitors warning for this week.

I think it's understandable asking for no visitors. I really wanted to do it with DD1 but felt like I couldn't...if I could go back I would! We are lucky this time in that some visited in hosp (where they were only allowed to look, not touch, due to the nursery stay) and very few have come since we've been home (perhaps because she was in hosp the 'novelty' of visiting a new baby has worn off???
Oh and that's great about the sleep Joeve! We were pretty good here, 2:00 and now at 6:30 (although she startrd grunting loudly from 5 (in her sleep), so that interrupted me....). That being said, I think the weeks of interrupted sleep is starting to take its toll. I feel exhausted and so does DH.
So exhausted here, Emily is quite unsettled at night. I think I have worked it out, she wants a top up before going back to bed so will try that tonight. Looks like I womt be able to get away with just feeding in bed and rolling over and going back to sleep like with DD1.
Yep Joeve too much foremilk can cause that. Was it frothy?
Lolpigs oh no you poor thing. At least you know what could be causing her to be unsettled.
Umm not sure if it was frothy or not. Today's was not as green but still greenish. I am feeding her longer and only one side at a time to ensure she gets the hind milk so will see if that makes a difference. It's hard tonknow if she is draining the whole breast because she falls asleep whilst feeding and never un attaches on her own. She seems happy enough though so not overly worried yet.

Popping in - Joeve are you taking any supplements? If so, sometimes the iron in supplements can make their poo green. I found it did with DD when I took them. Otherwise I'd just feed bub from one side per feed, unless she's obviously still hungry and doesn't want the other sidd becsuse its empty. I don't think I introduced the second side while feeding until about 3 months. :):

Ugh looks like I am having the same supply issues I did last time I tried everything last time and nothing worked to increase my supply, looks like I will have to try and mix feed if I can express enough, is always massive issue getting any out :( we were off to such a good start too. Couldnt get her to settle all day after hours on the boob a supplemental feed and she is sound asleep. Sigh :(

I had trouble expressing what i found helped (although bit of a juggle) was to breastfeed from one breast and express (with a hand pump) the other at the same time. I found that if i fed w one boob the other wld let down too and the expressing would be easier.

Lolpigs - Just remember that the amount you express doesn't represent how much milk you have - babies are more effective than expressing! Maybe pop into the breastfeeding problems and support thread for suggestions on increasing your supply (that is, if you want to exclusively bf, its obviously your choice). Have you tried lactation cookies?
Yep tried everything under the sun last time around. Even taking the medication which ended up making me very sick and didn't really help my supply. I think I really have a shortage of the prolactin or something as I seem to make milk but only a certain amount and then that is it. I never get the hard breasts, or leaking or anything.
Trust me I want to BF exclusively I even paid lactation consultants and everything with DD1 and no one could help me get my supply better. I was pumping around the clock, after 3 months packed it in. Ended up with PND as a result, so promised myself I wouldn't do that this time if it didn't work out.
I also don't have the luxury of spending many many hours pumping etc as once hubby is back to work I'm on my own with both of them. I wish things would just work, but sadly like for some reason my babies can't engage so I end up with C/S BF is something that just seems to not work properly for me :(
Yeah I know it isn't indicative, I got about 50mls just now so not too bad, If I can get another 50 in a few hours that is one feed she can have which is just BM.

Lolling are you using a manual or electric pump?
I have a manual one and I can't get a drop out :( not sure if it's me or the pump.
Joeve: I have a Medela Electric pump, I never could work the manual ones either, I never got a drop with those so your not alone! I'm considering getting a second attachment so I can do both breasts at the same time to save time.
I tried a few brands last time and this really is the best pump around, it is a little exxy though. I find the fitting is what makes it dependent on how much milk you get out. I use a soft plastic fitting as the hard plastic ones do nothing for me.

lolpigs please go easy on yourself.. at the end of the day as long as your baby is fed that's the most important thing. I think you're amazing for trying so hard both times. Just do what feels right for you both. big hugs xx

Chody I hope you start getting some good stretches of sleep and start feeling better. I feel exhausted too. DH has been back at work for three weeks and mum went home two weeks ago.. I have no help at night as DH is hopeless with broken sleep. im bfing so obviously he cant feed but DS1 has always been a rubbish sleeper so I'm juggling them both at night! anyway enough for now I got DS1 trying to get my help with lego and DS2 feeding! DH wont be home till 10.30pm.

I'm hoping lactation cookies will help this time (as should hopefully getting my VBAC!) and I've already frozen some dough :)
