Babies Born ~ January 2012 #1

Hey girls just thought is come and say hey and update I on my little guys progress. He got weighed on Friday at 16weeks and is now 7.4kgs, 65cm and 41.5 HC (birth stats 3.35kg, 52cm and 38cm)

I think we are coming to the end of a wonderweek thankfully lol! No he hasn't been too bad but we have had a few afternoons of waking from his nap and just screaming and nothing would calm him down except for Boobie which is fine except on the odd day when I've ducked out and not expected it and haven't left any bottles with hubby! Lol that was a fast drive home!!

We seem to be having an issue with his resettling in the afternoon nap he will usually sleep 1.5-2 hrs from 2pmish and normally is fine but this past week has been waking at 1hr and crying. He is def still tired and will eventually go back to sleep so it's just weird that he is having trouble resettling himself after doin it for two months now? Does this often happen at four months?

Hope everyone is goin well. I'm heading back to work in five weeks so I am trying to soak up as much as my little guy as I can - I am going to miss his smiles and giggles so much!!!

Is there a wonder week about now? DS just wants to be held constantly. He seems to be feeding a bit more (and vomiitting more tooo), so maybe a growth time coming up?

Yep there's a wonder week around week 19. Fussiness can start as early as 14 weeks. DD2 has been wanting to be held constantly the last couple of days. She's been feeding almost constantly this afternoon and wasn't very happy when I tried to wrap her on my back so I could get some things done. Thankfully DH has had the day off so took DD1 out for most of the day.

Aren't we all due to hit the dreaded 4 month sleep regression? DD2 has definitely been less settled the last few days, hoping it passes by quickly!

Well, DD2's sleep wasn't great last night - right on 4 mths! But it was more extra bfing than being unsettled. And she had some truly smelly farts, so I got up and changed her, thinking she must have pooed, but no! So I kinda woke her doing that. She's too cute with the smiles, giggles and chats though, it's easy to forgive her.

She's a much more intense baby than DD1. She likes to study things and she needs to warm to situations and ppl before she's comfortable. Then she gets all smiley and happy. She can hold things in both hands now and put them in her mouth and she wiggles her legs and bottom around so I don't think it's long before she rolls over.

As a sidenote... my DD1 has decided milkies is just for babies and she is now a "girl"... coincided with toilet training and all the emphasis on her growing up. Half expecting a relapse, stoked she came to the decision herself... little bit conflicted, feeling like my security blanket (the antibodies, guarenteed nutrient hit, constipation keeper awayer, instant sleep settler etc etc) has been pulled out from under me but I guess I would feel like this no matter when?? She suddenly seems so much older...

Three years, one month, two weeks, four days!

Does anyone else find it wierd when you see the 'Due in Jan 2013' thread, and think that was us 12 months ago?

Most nights here DS goes to sleep around 8pm and sleeps through til between 1 and 3am in the hammock and then wakes for a feed and comes into our bed and then feeds 1-2hourly til morning. SOmetimes he has an awake time for a couple of hours from 4am and then will sleep for a couple of hours.

Yesterday was a busy day and we were out alot so DS was really tired. Had a meeting where he slept and then home to bed at 9.30pm ish. He slept til 1 ish and came in for a feed (maybe 2?) . DD has gone to sleep in her tent and so woke up at 3am a little distressed and wanted to come in to us. I moved DS (asleep) back to his hammock. My DH had to get up just after 4 so knew i could have both with me if necessary after this, or would move dd back to her bed. anyway, both kids (and me!) slept through til 7! Now i wonder whether it is better to move DS back to his hammock after a feed. What do you reckon?

i have had a really productive day. and feel quite energised. went for a walk this morning, came home got lunch for DD and then got both! kids to sleep, washing off the line, cooked dinner. gona see what cleaning i can get done and maybe some writing.

Yes!!

DD2 had her vax on Tuesday and my little baby is growing way too fast - 6.9 kg clothed. And she isn't getting chubbier because she's growing long as well. She just about rolled over today (and off the couch). Most of all she likes holding things in her hands and putting them in her mouth. She's a sensitive soul and hates the noisy electronic toys that DD1 loved. She is wary of strangers and needs to warm up before smiling. When she's comfortable she's a real gasbag! Loves DD1 so much, you should see the excited smiles and leg and arm waving when we pick her up from school!

Sleeping from 6pm until anywhere from 11pm-1am, depending on whether we disturb her coming to bed. After that she comes out of the hammock and into bed with us for the night. I'm not sure how often she feeds, but mostly we sleep on. She rarely cries.

She has one long nap in the day if we're at home and otherwise grabs 40 mins here and there. Saves her sleeping for night time and usually sleeps in until 7.30-8am. Most mornings, anyway.

Their new cousin arrived yesterday as well, so we will be going to meet her in early July.

Hi girls

We are still going well. Litt man is such a wonderful bub! He still has his fussy times in the arvo when he wakes from his afternoon nap but usually is pretty good after his cuddles and feed with mum. I'm not sure what he does during that sleep but he always wakes up STarving and has to be feed right then!

I think mentioned in earlier post his last weigh in (lol) was 7.4kgs big guy!! He is now in 00 pants and tops bu I can't still get away with some 000 tops still (possible denial!) he was also 65cm so 13cm longer than birth in just under four months!

We have his needles next week which I am not looking forward to but they have to be done!

He is now sleeping through with a little engourageemnt from us but has done it for a week and a bit lol so I am enjoying while it lasts! We just gave him a pat last wed when he stirred and he went straight back to sleep and the same the following night and see since he is going to sleep at 7pm and sleeping till 6-630am a little early at the moment but perfect for when I'm back at wood in four weeks! (hate thinking bout that!!)

He is one chatty little guy tho and I love listening to him it is hilarious! He is also like a human faucet with so much drool coming out of him lol so we are thinkin teething could be On the horizon... But I guess we don't really know!

We are going really well, J can roll from tummy to back, can almost roll back to tummy he just hasn't figured out what to do with his arm lol..

He is a fussy feeder, going through periods of breast refusal. I took him to a paediatric osteopath and they don't think it's positional, he's just fussy..

We have a physio appointment on Tuesday to check his development, I am pretty happy he is developing normally for his adjusted age. He reaches out for things and he he is getting much stronger, he is able to sit up with minimal support for short periods. Other times he's all floppy :)

He smiles lots and is a chatterbox, he really enjoys his nappy off time..

Happy mothers day for tomorrow! This is such a special mothers day for me. I am so blessed to have my baby here with me!

This time last year our babies were tiny beans tucked inside. Can you believe how fast the year has gone?

Hi all haven't been on in ages, how is everyone going? Anyone else's little one sick yet? DD is :( poor thing.

DD will be 4 months on Wed she is rolling from back to tummy,laughing,poking her tongue out and talking. She is also pulling herself up in her bouncer found her this morning sitting up in it. DD is also on solids as well as BM she loves having a bit of toast with marmite in the morning then has a jar of food later on during the day. She is demand feeding and lately hasnt been sleeping right through. She was sleeping 8 hours but now I roughly get 2 hours unbroken sleep. She'll be having her immunisations this week so will know how shes going weight wise.

Hope you's all had a great mother's day it was my first with and earthside bubba. I got roses and chocolates :).

Oh my, DD2 just put herself to sleep! I fed her and put her in her hammock wide awake while I attended to DD1. Came back a few mins later and not a peep out of her. Sat by the hammock for a few mins, still nothing, so I've come downstairs to make biscuits with my newfound free time!

DD1 bf to sleep well into toddlerhood and tbh I like the cuddles. But DD2 obviously thinks she gets enough cuddles during the day!

DS has been waking for the day at 5am most days for the last couple of weeks. he coughs a bit, especially overnight, and i have wondered if he is getting asthma but dr said he sounded ok.

i had 4 month appt yesterday, and ds has had big growth on the scales. he has been looking chunky so not surprised. he weighs roughly what DD did at 6 months, i prefer a smaller bub, just cos he also wants to be held constantly and it is killing my back.

does anyone else have a bub that just doesn't to be put down?

he has started taking ebm which helps if i have to go in to work and he is sleeping. i know if he wakes up, he will still have milk available if he needs it. dd never took ebm so it is kinda wierd to not have to be constantly on call. gonna get a few bottles in the freezer for emergencies, but will still breastfeed most of the time.

HotI - Good to hear your wee man is growing good! Sorry cant help you with that dd loves being on the ground.

DD has 2 teeth D: bottom teeth so I know that she will start bitting soon. Shes also up on her hands and knees but hasnt moved on them so wont be long and shell be off. She rolls everywhere and pushes herself up onto her toes to move and face slides lol. Has been sleeping ok during the night but not as good as she was I get maybe 2-4 hours unbroken sleep but I think I know why she has been like that. Shes in 00 now little chub loves homemade food too :). DD loves her walker too ah they grow to fast :(.

Just a quick question to you ladies.. Im on microlut and have been since 6 weeks pp but I have not had AF for almost 2 months. Have done 2 tests a month ago and they were both negative.. Does it play up with AF or have DF and I dug ourselves a hole?

Can't help you on the microlut TM, but no AF here yet. Fx the remaining night feed keeps it away for some time yet.

DD2 seems to be dropping night feeds, one at 6pm at bed time (both sides), one around 11pm-12am and then only sometimes is she waking before morning (she gets up 7-8am, sometimes even later). Such a long stretch for a baby that is so chubby! Lol

Can't believe she's five mths already. She strains to pull herself up to a sitting position and her balance is good. But still no rolling. She seems happy to lie and play or talk to the ceiling. She was giggling at our dog chasing his tail the other day and it was so cute to watch. Every time he'd start up she'd start giggling! So cute to see her sense of humor coming through.

Violet is almost 5 months! we are having weight issues. She only gained 7oz in 2 1/2 months so i have to up my supplyy in 2 weeks or Drs will intervene. Other than that she can roll from back to belly but not belly to back. She currently weighs just about 12 lbs

Hi Mrs - how is your feeding going? do you think you have low supply, or does Violet have trouble feeding?

You do know that you have to give consent for drs to do things to you or your daughter, yeah? Do you have a le leche group or similar where you can get some advice or support?

My DD was a slow grower. DS was at the start but after i started medicating for reflux his weight gains have gone up again. Does your little one have reflux or tongue tie?

Hi Mrs, hope you and Violet are getting some good support with bfing. Have you tried the bfing threads here for some advice?

Having a good long weekend here. DD2 is such a cute, cheeky bubba. She gets the giggles now when something tickles her fancy. Today DD1 was bouncing up like a jack in a box and singing to her and DD2 was giggling like mad!

Hi everyone!

Little man is still doing well.im back to work tmrw :-( so DS had his first two days at daycare last week. Went on a bit of a hunger strike the first morning there and find have his bottle till 1230pm ( after last being fed at 7am) which is a long time for him! But it went better again on Thursday so I am hopefully he is getting into the hang of it and will have a smooth day tnrw.

He is now 8kgs and still growing. I've got my double pump already and packed for tnrw and kinda excited to see how it all goes with pumping and feeding with returning to work. I am confident in being able to keep it going so hopefully my boobies cooperate!

Better go -have to wash my hair now I'm returning to the world of civilization!

My baby has 2 teeth! Both his bottom middle teeth are just poking through. He had a couple of days with minimal sleep, but had a 2 hour sleep today and another couple of smaller sleeps so maybe the teeth were hurting him the last few days but are not so bad now they are through.

He is rolling quite alot, but doesn't travel too far yet. Thinks his toes are pretty interesting.

He has had bad eczema, and we tried quite a few creams but only saw big changes when we used some cortisone cream. Hoping once we have it under control we will be able to keep it clear with the more natural creams.

Reflux still an issue, and he is still not a real happy kid alot of the time. I am thinking about talking to a breastfeeding friendly dietician to see what changes to my diet might help, and also advice on starting solids. We will be doing BLS, but maybe it might be better to delay some foods??

DS sleeps in a hammock at the start of the nighht and then comes into our bed. He is feeding 2 hourly overnight, i was hoping this might ease but it hasn't yet. He is bit chubby at the moment, and also getting long so i don't know how much longer he will fit in the hammock. Not really looking forward to fitting a cot back in our room again.

How are your little ones doing? Anybody started solids yet? teeth? movement?

No teeth or solids here yet, but plenty of movement. DD2 is rolling all over the place and is very good at turning circles once she's on her tummy. She's taken me by surprise a bit, because DD1 wasn't mobile until she started crawling. I've seen DD2 try to get up on her knees once or twice and last night she pulled herself up to sitting and managed to hold it for a good minute or so.

We've finally settled down from hourly feeds over night. I was getting to the point where I didn't think I could take it anymore. It was especially bad because I'd be up with DD2 until 3-4am and then DD1 would wake when DH got up for work and then she'd wake DD2. (DD1 is in our bed and there isn't room for DD2. We've also just moved so only have the one bed at the moment so cosleeping with DD2 was an option). One day last week after being up all night, I dropped DD1 at day care and instead of coming home to sleep with DD2, I spent the whole morning out running errands. I don't know if it was that, or whether it would have happened anyway, but from then, DD2 has been sleeping well at night, only waking once or twice. Last night, she went from 10:30pm until 7am this morning :dance: We've also made changes to DD1's routine which seem to be helping her sleep much better at night too. After 2.5 years of little, broken sleep, I'm still not used to sleeping so well. I don't know how long it will last for, but I'm certainly going to enjoy it while it does.

I used to be on here every day when I was pregnant but it is amazing how busy you get with a new baby haha!

To update: We discovered that Violet was a lazy eater which was making my supply drop. So I spent a week nursing her every 2 hours and pumping inbetween and it brought it right back up and she gained a pound. She now weighs about 13lbs! :) This week we started solids. I was going to wait a little longer but baby girl was whining at the table and reaching for our food. So far she has eaten squash, peas, and sweet potatoes and LOVES them!

My older daughter turned 3 last week and it was so sad. It feels like just yester day I was on here asking for advice while pregnant with her. She loves being a big sister and the girls are really starting to get along. Violet cracks up at her every move!

Violet sleep habits are still random but it doesnt bother me because she is still in the cosleeper right next me. DH wants to move her to her own room but Im just not ready yet :( Right now she sleeps from 7-11 and then has a dream feed. Then she (usually) sleeps until 8. Though she has her FIRST tooth coming in so she has been waking up a bit more to comfort nurse.

Im SO nervous about her getting teeth. Have any of you nursed your elder babies and how bad was it when they first bit down on you while nursing?

mrs - thanks for posting, i often think about the other bellybuddy women and how everyone is going.

DS has 2 teeth, his middle bottom ones. the bottom teeth don't affect feeding cos the tongue generally covers them when they suck. My DD was pretty considerate with her teeth, or i just don't remember :lol: i remember concentrating on good positioning and attachment when the teeth started to come through. if baby feels like they are slipping they sometimes clamp down.

DS is sitting and now crawling backwards (on his tummy). he is so chubby atm, dd was always a skinny minny so a baby with rolls is bizarre. just in the last month, he has become so much more active and animated. i think his reflux might be starting to ease too :crossfingers:

Mrs - I fed DD1 till past 3 and only ever had a few run ins with teeth that were due to her getting sleepy and slipping slightly. Good attachment and head support will prevent a lot of biting!

DD2 is still toothless here but manages to munch down food pretty well! We began solids a couple of weeks back now at around 5m, inspired by her stealing food from DD1.

HotI - DD2 is a huge chubby bubby too and DD1 was/is always TINY. They can already share some pieces of clothing lol.

Not sure how big she is exactly as we haven't had her weighed for a while but she is bursting out of 0 clothing.

DD and DS can fit in the same nappies now, and i can see clothes going straight from her wardrobe to his. Another 6 months and he will probably be as big as her if he keeps it up! DS was born big, went though a slow growth period then has made up for it recently. I think i have an appointment in 2 weeks and will get him weighed again.

Hi everyone! Sounds like all our babies are doing the same kind of things.

DD2 thinks DD1 and our dog (and me) are just about the funniest things ever and her fits of giggles are adorable. She too is a real chubba where DD1 was a delicate skinny little thing. DD2 is really long as well, so she's starting to grow into her big feet. She's in 0 all-in-ones already, which didn't fit DD1 until she was almost one and running around. I've had to buy some clothes!

We started baby led solids almost two weeks ago at six months and she sucks/chews on everything we have that is easy to hold. Toast and mandarin are her favourites, although meat was a big hit both times I've offered it. She's learning how to pick up the more slippery things, beans went down well too. Mostly it's just tasting and exploring, because there are no telltale signs in her nappies that anything is going down, but I'm sure the odd bit will sneak in. It took DD1 about six weeks to really get food. DD2 is much more interested already though.

No teeth here, but again, DD1 didn't get any until about 8 mths. Teeth were never an issue with bfing, although I did have some rubbing from positioning at around 20 mths. DD2 has started clamping down if I reoffer and she's finished, so I mostly don't give her the chance!

She can roll but has only done so a couple of times. Less active than DD1 was, so hopefully that means she won't be cruising by 9 mths and walking by 10. It's more that DD2 is happy to watch and play with things and isn't inclined to move much.

Sleeping is much the same here, very little feeding overnight, but she comes into bed with me once I'm there so it really isn't bothering me. Still likes to sleep until at least 7.30am and goes down by 6pm usually. Only short naps most days.

Can you believe we're halfway through their first year already!

The Mrs - Glad to hear you've sorted your bfing issues and that Violet is thriving. DD1 used to clamp down when she started teething but I'd jump and yelp before I could stop myself, so she learned pretty quickly not to do it by the time her teeth actually came through. As the others have said, proper attachment removes the opportunity.

HotI - Glad DS's reflux is settling down. It usually does once they can sit up a bit more.

Jennifer - I can barely believe we're halfway through the first year! Less than 6 months until I go back to work :(

Just this morning DD2 has started moving forwards. She started getting up on her knees and moving backwards - you can see the cogs turning as she tries to coordinate her limbs to crawl. And she's been babbling loads since last night. It's funny to listen to when DD1 starts babbling back.

Actually, in the last couple of weeks DD2 has seemed much more part of the family. DD1 and DH are taking much more notice and interacting more with her. DD2 seems to sleep when we have meals so still juggling things to be more regular with offering solids. She's not eating much, very much working on getting it from the tray to her mouth, but as long as she's at the table with us and has some food in front of her she's happy.

Haven't weighed or measured her in a while, but we've just moved into size 0 clothes. She's much longer than DD1 was at the same age, as DD1 was in size 00 until 8-9 months. DD2 is skinny though, she in no way fills out her clothes. All the jumpers that my grandmother knitted for DD1 swim on DD2. I think it's because DD1's chubby belly stretched them out lol. Both her bottom teeth are coming through as well.

ETA - How long is everyone's bub spending awake at a time? DD2 still shows tired signs after being up for 1.5-2 hours, doesn't sleep for long but gets cranky if I try to keep her up longer. This morning she was up for 3.5 hours and then had a 1.5 hour nap.

We are doing BLS here too, same as with DD1. DD2's favourites seem to be beef strips and capsicum, I like her style! She is also babbling heaps which is a really different experience for me having DD1 with significant speech difficulties and delays. DD2 hasn't really slept away from me her entire 6 months but I don't really notice it this time because my expectations are more relaxed. I can't even guess how often she wakes at night lol.

Having seen the way DD1 has turned out, I'm feeling so confident in my parenting and it just feels so much more enjoyable and smooth! I absolutely adore having the 2 and am saying to DP constantly how much more content I feel with a pair, it just seems to work so much better that we are even discussing a possible third... maybe! It could also be being a family of 4 rather than just me and DD1, having the extra pair of adult hands around definitely makes things easier, I really missed having someone to share it all with the first time and only really just remember that now because it feels like we have all been together for ages now... feels like a different life completely!

It is flying by though, I cannot believe it has been 6 months!

Tuesday's Child - DD2 seems similar, she will be up for a couple of hours and then sleep for 40mins so having a lot of little naps during the day still. I generally try to get her to sleep when she starts getting louder, that seems to be her tired meter lol.

Hi girls.
We are going well. Had a misdiagnosis of chicken pod the other day but it turned out to be a weird allergic reaction (don't know what to?) he had spots then a massive hive lookig rash for a few days and then it turned into bruising and is now all clear? Hopefully it never happens again.

Unfortunately the last three nights DS has been waking up (after sleeping through from 4mnths) and I'm thinking it's teething (or hoping? Just so there is a reason I guess) and he just seems to want to be held for a while and after and hour or so goes back to sleep? It's about 2amish after going to bed at 7pm. We have his 6mnth needles on Friday so will get him checked then but he didn't have a temp or anything - hopefully just a phase!

Hi everyone!

We are doing solids a mix of BLS and puree, this last week he has actually started swallowing.. He loves his food, he gets excited when I put his bib on :)

I am trying to get Ds to sit up, he can sit for very small amounts of time (like 10 seconds lol).. He is no where near crawling, as soon as he goes on his tummy he rolls onto his back!

No teeth yet, thank goodness, he has started biting me and those gummy bites are bad enough! Not looking forward to teeth!

He is doing well, still only on the 3rd centile for his adjusted age weighing 6.37kgs..

Trying to keep his hearing aids out of his mouth is a full time job.. It's a real pain! He just loves eating everything!!

He doesn't have an awake/sleep routine, during the day, but he always has a morning sleep, depending on where we are depends on how long he sleeps for.. I'm still paranoid, so he sleeps either on the lounge next to me, or on my bed. He definitely sleeps better on my bed but at night I put him to sleep next to me because I have to tube feed him. If I put him in my bed that means I'd have to sit in there to feed him and I get bored lol..

The time is going so quick, I can't believe he is 9 months old now! I've still only had him home for 4 months. Next month is a big milestone, we would have been home as long as we were in hospital.. Can't wait for that!!

I love him so much, he's such a happy baby, I am very very lucky!

Hello girls :). Long time no post for me here. Sorry! Life has been chasing us in circles and there hasn't been time to read and post.

Dd has popped out her first tooth a day shy of 6months old and seemed ok with it but now seems to be struggling a bit and has dropped her sleeps down and struggles to stay asleep overnight. She is also desperate to eat when we do too , so I think she may have upset her belly with a bit of broccoli or something. She gets beside herself if anyone eats without offering her a bit to chew on. Very cute!

Afm- well I am loath to admit it but I am struggling. D1 and d2 are great. Lovely kids. But I think I am a bit depressed. Period came back just past 5 months so maybe it is hormonal. Also DH is getting closer to his exams. 3 weeks away now. He is home full time but locked away in his study. I think I grieve the time I don't have with him and feel like a single parent. I am trying hard to keep an even keel, but I fear my moods are all over the shop. I have put on weight and feel out of control at times. The kids are fine. At worst I just meet their basic needs and muddle thru. More often they get more than that but the house gets neglected.

Sorry to be a downer. Many many other times we are fine and I feel great and upbeat. I wonder if my returned period and the hormones there are really affecting me. I know that is common. I just don't like it!

Aww :hug: Bella. I've been really up and down lately too. I'm wondering if it's the stage as I remember it being hard with DD1 too. But then with DD1, she was 6-7 months old when my mum died and I returned to work. We moved just over a month ago so that's been a challenge. I don't know :dunno: All we can do is get through each day as best we can. If I can meet the girls basic needs then I consider it a good day, anything else is a plus. I have to keep reminding myself that the house will wait. It doesn't seem important at all when I'm listening to my girls laugh.

Have you booked in some time for you and DH to have alone once his exams are over? It probably feels like an eternity atm, but 3 weeks will go by quickly enough.

Sorry to hear, Bella. :( Moving and everything can't have helped you feel settled either. What do you think will help? I wish it wasn't like this for you right now.

I forgot to mention that DD2 can sit unassisted, but not for very long. But she's getting steadier, reaching for toys and things. She loves playing with toys and things in her hands (she'll play with her hands and toes if there's nothing else available!).

She is also a great talker. She's been saying mum-mum-mum for weeks and I thought it was random, but she now says it when she's tired, or hungry and wants me. She also says dad-dad-dad and bub-bub-bub (which could be boob). Lots of other sounds and babbling, but those three are distinctive. She's an earlier talker than DD1 who was about average until she started and then came out with everything quickly. DD2 is also a great raspberry blower!

6 months today! DS had a chew of some dry roasted potato slices last night and thought they were ok. He is definitely on the move now, i need to encourage DD not to leave out some of her smaller toys, pencils etc cos he can ravel and everything goes in the mouth. i missed my mchn appt cos i thought it was next week (oops) but will get him weighed next week. DS is in size 0 in most clothes now and medium nappies. he is dribbling like a trooper. loves to laugh. there have been huge changes in the last month.

He sleeps in the hammock during the day and for the first part of the night. We moved dd out of it at 6 months but am happy to leave him in it for now. I think DD was starting to roll over in it and we got abit scared. He feeds every couple of hours overnight, maybe cos we bedshare? but it is more effort to get him to sleep in the hammock and our house is pretty cold so i know he is warm enough if he is in with us.

i struggled the first few months, but am starting to enjoy having 2 kids now. love when dd blurts on his tummy to make him laugh or he giggles at her spinning around.

Bella & TC :hug: don't apologise for saying you are doing it tough, we might have some suggestions for you, and tbh in the early days when i was struggling everyone else seemed to have it together and knowing someone else couldn't do everything either could have made it a bit easier. hope things calm down soon.

So I finallly experienced a good bite the other night. With instinct I screamed and baby violet looked up at me and started crying SO loud. Needless to say...I dont think she will be doing that anytime soon.

also..we are just doing puree right now. I plan to start introducing some solids at about 7 1/2 months. right now she just has 1 1/2 jars a day, but I see it goin up because she never seems satisfied lately and grabs for more food.

Tomorrow she is 6 months old!!

Hi everyone, a quick question.. What do your bubs have for brekky? I was giving toast, avocado, banana etc, but i want to actually feed him something because I want him to get the calories. i gave him weetbix this morning with boiled water, then some EBM then cows milk. Has anyone else introduced dairy yet? Again I am for the same reasons.. We want calories!! lol.

I give DD2 whatever I'm having, so either toast with butter, or porridge atm (if I have time I express into the porridge but otherwise it's cows milk). I think I've done kids weetbix with ebm once too. She's had crumpets, pancakes, eggs, bacon as well on the weekends when DP cooks.

Sometimes I also give her a bit of fruit. Mandarin is her favourite.

Just depends what I'm having and how rushed I am!

She's quite impressed with her food experiences so far. ;) Although anything needing a spoon and she wonders what I'm doing! I let her guide it into her mouth after she's looked at it and decided to try.

I do the same. i wanted to do BLS as much as possible and we still do, i just want him to eat though.. I am lazy, i eat porridge but i eat the instant stuff.. so high in sugar and sodium.. i bought a different one today that was better but still not great.. i am struggling to find things low in sodium and sugar, it seems to be that if they are low in one they are high in the other!

How do you do her eggs? Eggs would be great for DS as they are so high in protein. Do you give her egg white or just the yolk? i'm not too concerned about allergies here, is that the only reason they say to stay away from egg white?
