I actually may be down Brisbane/Gold Coast way around June. DH and I are still workingt hrough the logistics/finances of it all, but we're seriously considering it. Emma might get to meet two of us this year LOL
at work so can't write much of a reply, but woohoo to getting to meet Ocean Princess and maybe Dr Tal! good luck working through the tanties girls. :-(

Well this morning DS had a tanty because I wouldn't give him toast. I had toast there and I was going to give it to him in the car, like we always do on the way to child care. But no he decided he needed it as we were putting shoes on ready to go. Tanty. :rolleyes:
Hi Guys, how is everyone?? Hows everyones kiddos?? I have been so incredibly busy, but thought I would pop back in. Miss Ayva has goten so big now .. It's crazy how fast time goes. Her and Aiden get along pretty good, but if she touches his trains (which he organises in a perfect row) he goes nuts, then, she notices his reaction so she hits the rest of them .. She has definitely got a big temper and is very cheeky, so opposite to my little man lol .. I've uploaded new photos of them in my albums :) She is still breatfeeding as well, and 20 months, is anyone else? Its still the only way to get her to sleep .. :) ... Also, Aiden is betting checked for aspergers. A friend of mine works in mentl health, and he has picked up on a lot of the things he does.. I don't see it as a bad thing though, he started pre-school a few weeks ago and they told me he's the smartest kid there :) Made me feel very proud :) He goes ok there because my dad works at the school he goes to preschool at :)
Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and say hi. Fill me in on whats been happening! lol .. Hope your all well x
Hey M2A!! long time no see. Great to hear that your two littlies are going well. I still breast feed B as well, but only at night. He's dropped all the other feeds himself. I definitely take advantage of 'boob juice' time though to get him down to sleep at night :lol:
I'm going to have to go have a look at your albums. I'm keen to see how big they've both gotten.
I don't think I'd see aspergers as a bad thing either, she says totally different to autistic children. My mum works with a lot of kids with 'learning disabilities' (for whatever reason they tend to class aspergers in there) and she reckons they are really good to work with. The hardest part is to keep them interested by providing them with things that are challenging for them. That if they get bored, that's when the whole 'learning disability' thing begins.
My other news….we're expecting #2 in September. Super excited. We've been talking to B about it a lot, and every chance I get I point out babies to him and then say that there's a baby in mummy's belly. Now every night before he goes to bed he gives daddy a cuddle and kiss, mummy a cuddle and kiss and baby a cuddle and kiss (it's SOOOO CUTE) before he snuggles up for his boob juice.
Omg, Congrats!! I should have notced by your ticker! lol .. Ayva feeds a lot. She is right now. She feeds every hour, i swear lol .. Aiden likes to stick to the same thing, he will sit there and organise his trains for hours if noone interupts him. And did you watch xfactor on tv last year? There was a guy on there called luke odell who sang his own made up song called "introvert extrovert" .. well Aiden will sit there and sing "introvert extrovert doesn't matter" over and over again .. just those 4 words lol .. But he's such a good kid. He loves learning stuff, and he makes numbers and shapes out of his body, like for 4 he puts one leg up while hes standing, he can do a bunch of others though. :)

M2A - It must be so cute/funny to watch Aiden making numbers and shapes out of his body. I've been sitting here trying to imagine what some of the other numbers might look like.
Sounds like Ayva still feeds quite a lot. B dropped 2 feeds at 6 months. Then another two by 11 months (so was down to basically just overnight) and he's recently dropped a whole heap of overnight feeds. He had been having one for bed, and then waking up 2-3 times a night for a feed as well but for the last 3 weeks or so it's just been his bedtime feed and MAYBE one other during the night, but usually just his bedtime one. It's kind of sad, but kind of good at the same time ITMS?
On a completely different topic…..do you still live in/near Ulladulla? There is a small chance I might be going down to visit a friend who will be home from England for her Grandmothers birthday. Feb I think.

So far out of his fingers he makes c,d,x,y,1,v,a, 7 & h. Out of his legs he does a & 4. We got 2 chickens and he named them chugger and 8 lol .. He loves trains and he loves numbers. 2 of his teddy bears are named 6 & 7.. I tried to get a video of him doing his letters and numbers but he gets shy lol .. Ayva never really had any set feeds, it was just on demand. Ayva feeds at least 10 times a day. Though she goes all night without one :) I know what you mean, its a lot easier when they feed less, but sad because it means they're growing up ;( ..
If my memory is right, you have fish right? Or at least, you used to? Well, we started up a tank agan, we got guppies.. The fancy kind :) .. And we have only had them a little under 2 months and we already have 14 fry, and the same female is about to drop again as I can see all the fry eyes in her belly. Exciting! lol .. Instead of the crazy cat lady I'm turning into the crazy fish lady lol
Hello mummy2aiden! Good to hear from you! Aiden is such a cutie, I checked out your youtube videos. I'm interested in the aspergers thing, both DH have it in our recent family histories. I'm so in awe that Ayva breast feeds that many times a day. Trav still has a comfort suck once or twice most days, I doubt he gets more than half a teaspoon of milk out though!
OP - It was great to meet you and your littlies on Monday. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday!
AFU - Travis has really gone through a developmental growth spurt the last couple of weeks. I think I mentioned he went through a months-long phase of calling all numbers and letters "eight". Then all numbers were nine but that was only for a couple of weeks. Now he sort of counts to six - "one, chew, ree, or, ive, ick". I'll say "seven" then he'll say "eight". It's so cute! He's starting saying "ane" when a plane goes over instead of just "wow". :lol: and he's generally saying lots more. It's a relief more than anything. I've found this parenthood thing so challenging, not knowing what's the cause of T's frustrations!

My mum loved when all the kiddies went across and had a little picnic - I think T was there too hey? Was very cute :D thank you for making the trek to meet up, I really appreciated it!
So glad his speech is improving. I've got a friend IRL who's DS is only a week younger than X and he says even less than T. She's trying not to worry about it til he's two... I reckon they all just develop at different rates.
X, as you may have seen, is a veritable chatterbox. Pretty much can't shut him up these days :lol:

AFU, T has figured out how to jump with both feet on the trampoline, so his olympic journey has begun. :rofl: His speech is still coming along. DH swears he heard T say, "My apple is gone" on Saturday. The "is" part surprised me... I think it was a hearing mistake. :)

Hi EJ! Yes, it has been ages since anyone posted!
Not much happening in our part of the world. X has really changed in the last few weeks, we went away for Easter and he has turned into a real little boy - he went fishing with DH twice and just loved it. He can now say "Mummy, caught fishy! In the water!" it is very cute. And he has moved on from saying "mm-hmm!" to actually saying "Yes." Complete with a definite nod. Like yes, there is no other option.
He still has his little tanties - I'm trying really hard to be patient and tell him to use his words instead of crying, which sometimes works.
We are in the process of cleaning out the spare room to make it ready for the little man to move in, which will involve a big boy bed. Scary!
Our babies are growing up - almost 2 now!
We have been particularly quiet in here of late…even for us….haven't we?
Emma - How cute that T jumps on a trampoline. I had B on one at a friends place the other day and he didn't want a bar of it….which surprised me because he loves to jump. He jumps all the time, on the floor, and also off anything and everything he can climb onto (which often gives me a bit of a heart attack and sends me racing trying to catch him :o )
I had to laugh at your hearing mistake. DH is constantly filling in words for B. Telling me he heard him say this or that. Like he holds up his finger and says I back for I'll be back, but whenever DH relates it he ALWAYS says he head B say I'll be back.
OceanPrincess - Fishing huh? Too cute. I should get poppy to take B fishing. I think he'd really like it. B still doesn’t say yes….at all. Not even a mm-hmmm. We get a head nod most of the time, be he occasionally mixes it up with a no shake head. But he can DEFINITELY say no. and he gets quite indignant about it at times too if you ask him if he wants something and miss what he says the first time and ask him again.
AFU - B LOVES to help his daddy 'fix' things. It's so funny to watch him crawl all over and around DH and hand him tools (and drop them on his head) as he desperately tries to help him work on the car, mower, bike, whipper snipper, air compressor….you name it. He'll often grab a screw driver or spanner and wander out to the ute to try to take the nuts off the tyre or do some other type of 'maintenance'.
He's also fallen in love with Thomas the Tank Engine. I had a work colleague give me a heap of his sons old toys, including about 6 metres of train track, a huge Thomas carry thing (which doubles as a train station that the track can run through) 5 motorized trains and a dozen or so train cars/carriages. And well, lets just say I've done nothing but play with trains for the last two weeks straight! :o
Sitting here on the lounge room floor sharing my laptop with T, who's on the potty next to me watching fire trucks on youtube on his half of the screen. He doesn't point at the laptop and ask for Elmo anymore, now he points and makes siren noises or says "fire!" :lol: Obsessed.
So I'm a bit worried. As OP saw at the Gold Coast, T has a habit of pushing or hitting other kids. It's gotten worse since then. It's like every time we hang out with other kids he'll do something. I haven't had a chance to chat with his day care ladies with it yet. I hope it's a phase. But what if it isn't?
He's not eating much at the moment, but still wants a bottle of milk 3 times a day. I haven't stopped giving him the bottle and I only realized I should have weaned him off it ages ago! So that's going to be a challenge.
OP - That's really cool about X going fishing! There's no way T would be patient enough for such a caper! How lovely for you.
Remind me, where has X been sleeping until now?
Dr Tal - T loves "helping" his daddy too. It's so cute how industrious they can be, isn't it! What does your DH think of it? All fun and games till he gets a spanner to the noggin?
T has only started saying yes recently, which is a nice change, because he used to say no when he meant no and no when he meant yes - very confusing! Actually, it's "yeah". Still doesn't make the s sound.

DH gets a kick out of it most of the time when B tries to 'help' but I know he gets frustrated a bit as well. Because B's always getting in the way and making the job twice as long as what it's suppose to be. That having been said he always comes to get him to 'help'whenever he's going to be doing something, so he can't think it's that bad.
Sorry to hear that you are having a problem with T hitting. Unfortunately I can't give you any advice. But I do think it's a good idea to chat to his daycare about it. It may just be something he does when he's around you...sort of like a possesive thing?
So I had to tell someone who might get it.
B has weaned himself….which is good. He's not wanted a breast feed since Wednesday night and now my milk is dry. I didn't want to have to force wean him so to speak but I wasn't really wanting to feed to at the same time and now I don't have to worry about either of those. So it saves me and him the hassles and heartache of making that decision. And it means he was ready and there was no trauma and all that……..
But. I'm really sad about it. It's like the final end to him being a baby ITMS? He's now officially a toddler and growing up and well…it's really hard.
DH just doesn't get it….not that I was really expecting him to. He's not callous about it or anything, he just can't grasp why I'm upset. So consequently he doesn't know what to say and while I know he means well…everything he says just makes it worse :doh:
So I thought I'd cry on your shoulders about it :cry:
