Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Thanks Andie :) At first I was 100% no. Then I am at the stage of probably not, but it's not completely ruled out. By the time I decide if I am ready to do it all again I will be too old! I just worry about PND and how will dd cope if I lose my mind again? So much to consider before going there again. But I would like a sibling for dd.
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
I can't remember how old you are, on my phone so can't see... but I think you have a few more years to figure things out..?! I've had a few people close to me with pnd, so can understand (to some extent) your concerns there. It can be quite scary. I don't want to trivialise things, but I'm sure you will figure it all out when/if the time comes. :-)
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
The second is always easier than the first Tasha :)
Well it was for me haha .. So much easier , you already have had your first so know what's going on :)
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Oh definitely! Gets easier with each one ;)
We'll be doing something low-key for Emily's birthday. I have a large family, so even just inviting her Aunts & Uncles and cousins it is a big crowd! I've already bought a few little things and put them away, and got one of those plastic cubby houses too (just one of the cheapies from B!g W). My Mum is getting her a Cabbage Patch doll - so I've been on the hunt for the perfect one! ;) I want one with blonde hair and blue eyes, with a pretty face... but they are not so easy to come by here! Seen plenty online, but with the postage it ends up costing far too much.
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Anyone little ones saying any words yet ? DD2 is saying 5 !! where did my baby go :(
Had anyone's bubs eyes changed colour ?
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
No words yet, plenty of 'mah', 'bah', squealing & sing-song, quiet babble/talking. Eyes still the same colour, blue. I've heard they can change up till 2 years. No idea if this is true.
Sleep is still a bit of an issue here, but has a couple of good nights recently so hoping for a bit of an improvement. Eating is going well & I'll be surprised if he's not on the weight chart at our next mchn appt. ; )
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Mumumumum and dadadadadad here. And recently what I think is 'car' :)
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
We have "mum ,dad ,bye ,hi , nan"
Blue eyes still , both DH and I have brown eyes and DD1 eyes went brown but no changes in DD2 eyes yet
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
No changes in eye colour here either.
Still at the babbling stage mostly - says mum & dad, but not with any real purpose. More often than not, says "mum" while dad is holding her ;)
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
I thought dd might have blue eyes as everyone on DH side has blue and we have brown. The GP said both parents have to be blue to produce blue eyes. Brown is dominant, but if you have a green/hazel on either side you could produce green/hazel.
Dd eyes were blue/slate kinda colour, but now they look to be turning green. It's different all the time! Still not much hair at all, but from what I can see it looks dark like mine.
When can you know for sure?
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
my little ones eyes were slate coloured at the beginning too, I loved that dark, deep colour. so beautiful to look in to his eyes... I'm getting a bit clucky atm. visited a pregnant friend recently, which prompted me to start looking at my sons baby photos... he was so small! and snugly... and gorgeous. he is still snugly & gorgeous, but a lot bigger. ; )
tasha, might have to disagree with your gp. my brother (brown eyes) & SIL (blue) have 2 children, both with blue eyes. dh has blue & I'm brown, so far out little guy has blue. but that can change I guess.
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
DH has blue eyes, I have hazel... Em has blue!
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Oh my !! We are walking non stop now , just then it was 10 steps in one go
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Oh my god Cinders. Walking???? Far out. I am not ready emotionally ready for Jack to walk.
We are saying Mum, Dad, Nan, Car and Ja (jack)
I love the crawling stage. He is independent and can amuse himself. He just follows me around the house now. It makes getting ready in the mornings so much easier. Still trying to work on self feeding as he vomits the lumps up. He is getting better though. No vomit over the weekend. My Dh has a really narrow throat and had to have surgery to enlarge it so not too sure if Jacks throat is narrow too. I find he is better feeding himself and seems to be getting enough in to fill him up. Its so cute packing his lunchbox for daycare although I am sure the novalty will wear off soon enough.
We got Jacks birthday present freighted over. Toys r us had a trike that I had been stalking was on sale so i grabbed one. Its one with the handle for me to push. We live 3 minutes from the beach so I can imagine walking him along the foreshore in spring.
Exciting times ahead :)
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
walking, that's just too far... they cant be that old yet, can they?! my little guy is starting to hold on to the couch then attempt to drift to the next surface (activity table/chair etc). he is pretty impressed with himself. i don't think im ready for him to walk yet either... but i guess i don't really have a say! he will look pretty funny if he does walk soon bc he is so tiny.
struggle town here atm, little guy was up from 3-5am last night (guess its this morning really...), im super tired. im patiently waiting for this phase to end, but it seems to be sticking around. anyone's little ones copping some bumps to the head with their new found freedom of crawling/standing/walking? its going to be an accident prone stage i think... ;)
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Jack constantly has bruises on his head and shins lol. He prefers to cruise along things than crawl had been cruising for ages. He crawls uo to the passage hall then stands up and cruises down it till he gets to the room he wants then plops on the floor and crawls into it. So funny. He is heaps quick at crawling now. Super fast when trying to get away from me.
Andie - sorry to hear your little one is keeping you up. Is he getting cold that time of night/morning? Jack has gone vack to waking up after 6am. He was waking around 5am and done with sleeping but I think he was getting cold so put extra layers on under his bag and seems to have done the trick.
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Cinder, oh my gosh walking!
Vic, that would look so funny  It's amazing how fast they can get, especially when a baby gate is left open!
Bruises here too, we have floorboards and rugs so it doesn't help. I want to get one of those walker things from vtech and see how she goes. She's just got over conjunctivitis and a chest infection so that wasn't fun. But other than that she's doing great. Still sleeps well, dribble has finally stopped and she's just changed routines. we dropped a feed and she's eating more solids now too.
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
vic - how cute, my little guy plops on his bottom when he wants to go down too. funny little things. no, he's not getting cold at night. his feet, legs etc are toasty when I change in the middle of the night. thankyou for the suggestion though. xx
tasha - glad to hear your little one is feeling better, so hard when they are sick. i think my little one is changing daytime routines too... seems to not want to breastfeed as much during day & naps are at a later time too.
