OMG. No tomato for me from now on. We had a tomato based pasta sauce last night and my poor little girl was so unsettled - we were up from 2am to 5am and she was so windy and unhappy, had three massive pooplosions and was still a little unsettled this morning. Thank goodness she's now having a good sleep. She must be exhausted the poor little poppet.
Little O - I think its still too young to expect your bub to self settle. I could never have got I and E to self settle because they were very unsettled little bubs. They never did self settle really - I cuddled/held/touched them to sleep until they were well over 2 years of age. Fortunately they are now brilliant little sleepers. A is a much more content baby, and I can put her down while she's drifting off, rather than sound asleep and just rock/swing her to sleep in her hammock, or pat her to sleep in her cot. I have always gone the more hands on road though - I would rather take longer and just cuddle my babies to sleep and then put them down. Its a very personal thing, and one that you will find triggers a LOT of disagreement ;-) Do what you're comfortable with, but at this stage it would be expecting a lot from a tiny baby to get themselves to sleep. Try not to stress about your DH going back to work. My DH works from home but TBH I prefer it when he stays in his office and just leaves me to do my own thing. Don't worry - you'll do great.
