Phils Aunty brought Bambi some little bodysuits so that has cheered me up slighty.
I just miss her, they say the 1st year is the hardest & it really is.
Greetings from Sweden, where we moved 2 weeks ago. It's a beautiful summer here but I'm having some behavioral issues with DS1 Archie, who is born march 21 2009, so I thought I'd write up about it here. Ever since we got here, we've been having some massive tantrums from him and I feel so sorry that we've uprooted him from his familiar world in oz and my parents, to a new country with a new language. He has been hitting other kids, and is generally very rowdy and we have put him on antibiotics as he had this horrendous cold and then got bitten by a tick. I feel so bad for my little man, then there are times I can't stand to be around him as he is driving me out of my mind.
We just got back from lunch at my MIL's. It was quite tiring, gambas played up heaps (as he has been doing lately, today was even worse as he missed his afternoon nap). My MIL's partner at one stage got frustrated with him and shoved him, I was absolutely stunned (but can also understand an old guy who isn't used to kids). We went home straight away but now I regret not saying anything. I felt really bad for Archie (who was being a pain, but still). I discipline my kids (and not physically), not someone else! In a way it could have been worse as we were thinking of going away with my MIL and her partner for 1-2 weeks, so we have cancelled that- thankfully we weren't on holidays with another 1-2 weeks ahead of us!
Anyway, just needed to vent. Moving countries is hard. With a toddler even harder. Maybe I'll make a new post on BB and ask for people's advice if you don't mind me plagiarizing my own words from this thread.

I had some bleeding again last night & here is what happened.
They got me in nice & early this morning. I'm glad i don't go on Thursdays it's so busy & there was no parking.
Anyways, i'm starting to dilate but he said it's normal being my 3rd pregnancy, he couldn't see any reason for the bleeding but if i have any more bleeds then i need to go for an U/S. Otherwise my cervix looks normal for 28wks & a 3rd pregnancy :)
Bambi is fine & measuring on dates with a lovely strong HB.
My Iron levels are dropping fast & at this rate i'll need another infusion before i give birth because if i hemorrhage again then i'll have no way to build my blood count back up without an Transfusion or 2.
My Vit D levels are even lower & i have to take twice the dose of Vit D & Bambi will need some after birth as well because it will have an effect on her.
My GTT results were. 4.2, 6.6 & 6.1 so all completely normal.
I see him again next week & then fortnightly, till 36wks & then weekly visits.
Time is going to go a lot faster now!

Glad to hear everything is ok Mo! Bambi is certainly keeping you on your toes! That sucks about your mum. I wish that she was here for you too. Maybe you and the girls can make some cupcakes in her favourite colours for her birthday as a nice little memorial. Something to keep you busy whilst remembering her, plus you get to eat cupcakes :)
PRMG - I'm feeling pretty good, thanks for asking. 3rd trimester was the worst for me with DD so I'm dreading reaching that point again, especially with DD to run around after.
We bought a step up toilet seat for the new house and I set it up the other day. We are still in the process of moving/cleaning/unpacking but DD was super excited to sit on it and wouldn't get off so I left her on it whilst I packed up some stuff. About 30secs later I hear, "Mummy! Yucky!" She had done a poo but tried to stand up halfway through and it dropped onto the ground! Haha, at least it was a solid one. She is well and truly ready to toilet train so once we are in the house I think we will only have nappies for sleeping.
Tanya - Sorry to hear that Archie is being difficult. I think the key is to get him into some kind of routine so he knows what to expect. Especially being in unfamilar environments at least he will be comforted by knowing what is happening next. Good luck!
DD had mudcrab for dessert the other night. Dad brought one home over the weekend and forgot to freeze it so ended up cooking it after dinner. It was awesome for her to get to see it uncooked and change colour in the pot then to break it open and eat the meat. A good life experience I reckon, to see where some of our food comes from and the process behind it.
We move in on Saturday so things are busy busy at the moment. I start my uni course on Monday, hoping I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. We're thinking about taking DD to the circus in a couple of weeks too.

We're still Madame Fusspot over here with food. Although she did eat some homemade sausage rolls today, and was brave to try some jelly too (yep, even jelly is a problem). Everything she eats is bland. Rice, cruskets, weetbix, sultana bran buds. She'll usually eat mashed potato/pumpkin/sweet potato but lately that's been a firm "No" too. I made some blueberry muffins which she devoured - but that night she broke out into a bumpy rash over both thighs. Annoying because she can eat the Gloria Jeans blueberry muffins without a reaction. TT has halted again, but I'm not too fussed because it's just so cold!

MG your DD sounds a lot like Maddi. She is still a fussy eater & will not try new food.
Tho i actually got her to eat roast beef the other day by saying it was a type of Chicken. She loved it & even had seconds i was so shocked.
So completely random question.
If i was to buy a bulk freezer pack from the butchers, how long would the meat stay fresh for?
1 month, 2 months????

I'm still undecided if we should spend $270 on capsule that will only be used for 6 months but will be easier when bubs is a newborn or spend $170 & buy M the Hi Liner & put Bambi straight into carseat.

I reckon you'd be right to freeze the meat for a couple of months. I guess it depends on what you're buying but the butcher would tell you for sure! We have a guide in our freezer that says 0-3 months for fish, cooked meals, pasta and icecream; 3 - 6 months for lamb, bread, game meats and pizza; 6 - 12 months for beef, vegetables, cake and chicken. That's just a normal freezer on top of a fridge. I know if they're vacuum sealed, they last even longer.
If it was me, I'd go the car seat. We went straight into the seat for DD, she's still in it now, and she'll be in it for some while yet. We got the safe and sound meridian and it's been fantastic. We went that way because we knew we wouldn't have had the money to change seats, and we haven't regretted it.
And lastly, yeah, we'll be bring lunch to Healesville but no doubt DH will indulge in a bucket of chips :lol: I have a buy 1 get 1 free voucher for you too for an adult ticket.

We have a similar guide on our freezer too PRMG. Only difference is it says up to 9 months for chicken and lamb and up to 12 month for beef.
Is hiring a capsule an option Mo? Especially if Bambi is going to be your last bub, although I suppose you could sell the capsule when you're done with it.
It's hard to know what to do, I see alot of people with capsules and think how convenient it is but DD was almost 10pd so we probably would get less than 6 months use out of one. So I'm leaning towards upgrading to a booster seat and reusing the convertible seat we've already got. Same thing with prams, we didn't get a toddler seat pram for DD so I'm hoping she'll be happy to walk by then, plus I've got a carrier just in case.

FW the hire places only hire out the older style bulky capsules & it wont fit with the other 2 carseats.
One of M's BB group ladies might have a capsule that we can get.
Only thing i like about the capsules is how much easier it will be will doing Kinder drop offs, Dr Visits etc...
In case anyone cares & just to bump us, we got Maddi the new Hi-Liner.
In the end it would of been impossible to get the capsule out as it has to go in the middle. Maddi loves it because it's pink & Kodi loves the maxi rider so everyone is happy :D

Glad you got the seat sorted, can't wait for Healesville! We took DD to the zoo last weekend and she loved it, so really looking forward to following that up with Healesville.
I was mucking around today with our video camera and putting the tapes onto the computer. They're all pretty much of DD, cannot believe how much she's grown and in a short space of time. DD was mesmerised by the footage.
MG i see they are still doing Magic Moments at HS.
I know my girls would love it, hopefully we will be able to do that as well.
We are still wanting to take M to the Zoo for her birthday, but depending on how i go Next Sun. We might not be able to do that.
I figure if i can't handle Healesville at 31wks then i have no chance at walking around the Zoo at 36wks.
Mo, I struggled walking around Bunnings at 36 weeks, lol!
And honestly, if you get up next Sunday and just think no, it's no issue. We can sort it out for another day. :hug:
MG even if i didn't feel like i could do I have an almost 4yr old who wouldn't take no for an answer :rofl:
She is so excited it's all she asks about at the moment.

Hi girls - what do your kids weigh. Ella has too see a dietician as shes not putting on weight.
Shes only 11.7kg.
Shes loving being a sister now which is a relief

14kgs here, Kell. I just weighed her now, so she was wearing a light top and skivvy, no pants, no nappy.
Good to hear she's liking being a big sister. The photos are beautiful.
Glad you got the car seats sorted Mo! Would the capsule have to go in the middle so the girls seats would fit? I'm still undecided, it might be a good investment if we decide to have a 3rd bub.
PRMG - dd love to watch videos of herself too :) we have heaps on the camera and she will flick through and look at the photos and keep going til she finds her favourite videos which are her singing or riding her trike
Kell - I think DD is about 13.5 - 14kg. She hasn't put on weight for ages but I know she dropped heaps on the growth charts. We haven't had her properly weighed since her 12 month check up, we didn't bother with an 18month check up or the chicken pox vac. She is getting taller though, she is 90- something centimetres, can't remember exactly and has grown about 5 cm in the last 3 months according to our height chart scribbles on the wall :) we have marks with the date we measured her but I haven't written the actual height next to it.
I would try not to worry too much, they are so busy at this age and as long as she is happy, eating well and growing taller that's all that matter I reckon. Hope your appt goes well, trust your mummy instinct and I'm sure everything will be ok
K is 12.7 i think.
M has seen a dieticien a few times, she's not underweight anymore but she is very tall skinny.
We've basically been told to giver her fatty foods, use nutella & peanut butter spread. Always use butter in her foods & keep her on full fat milks etc...
FW Both Phil & I are 6ft so the capsule would only fit in the middle for us, but if you can fit the capsule behind the passenger seat then i would buy one.
They do come in so handy.
hey wow so long since I've been on here! I find if I don't make it on a few days after I last posted I feel daunted by all there is to read I just give up lol! Have decided to just jump in where this page starts off so sorry if I don't reply to something!!
loving having two girls here! Lizzie is a fairly quiet happy baby who most days sleeps pretty good during day, does an 8-10 hour block at night, and only cries if I've been a mean mummy and had too much dairy! nothing like poor Susie who screamed all evening till about midnight when she was this age!!
Kell - Susie's only around 12kg but she's a shorty too...Lizzie is almost 7kg already at 11 weeks which is how big Susie was at 10 months lol, so just goes to show how different kids can be!
We love a capsule, used it for 6 months with Susie..Lizzie is about to come out of it cause shes getting too heavy for me to carry in it anyway and looks so squished!we bought a maxi rider ahr to put Susie in and Lizzie will go into the reversible car seat susie is in. :)
Aussie it's nice to hear from you & wow Lizzie is almost 3 months old already & what a fantastic weight she is.
My 1st was a real little porka & my 2nd was a really slow gainer so it will be interesting to see who Bambi takes after.
Saw the Ob & Bambi is finally head down.
Everything is going well with her & i've really popped since she turned.
I'm down to single figure weeks as well :D

We are finally in our new place. Spent one night in it before our fridge broke and we had to wait for a part which took almost a week. Hopefully things will settle down and we can get back into some kind of routine pretty quick.

Same here Mo :) I have been busy studying, it is taking up alot more time than I thought it would but I am really enjoying it. I might not feel the same in a couple of weeks with a few essays due!
DD has been sleeping in our bed. She has been mucking around too much going to sleep in her room and wants to go back and forth. When DF and I aren't so tired we'll have a bit more patience to sit with her and get her to sleep. We started wearing training pants and it did not go so well. She is a stubborn little thing, I'm going to have to use some reverse psychology I reckon because I know she is ready. She has an answer for everything and is so cheeky, makes us laugh though.

We're home from our weekend away, so not much going on here. Think DD's going through a growth spurt - she had two slices of toast and two weetbix for breakfast! Unheard of around here!
lol That's K's normal breakfast, the girl can eat!
What size shoes are the little ones wearing? K still wears a size 6. So she'll either have high arches as she gets older or just be short.
LOL, DD is the fussiest eater still. That breakfast is massive for her! We actually got some blueberries and sultanas into her yesterday, we were amazed. Hoping she's going to start trying some new things.
She's a 5 in shoes, but going into 6. So still little feet :)
DD is in size 8 shoes atm. She is destined to have big feet, poor thing. I'm a 10 and my sister is size 11 so it runs in my side of the family, I'm not sure what size DF is though.
Our normal breakfast here is one of those oats sachets, I can't believe how much she loves oats! I normally have toast and she will ask for toast if she's still hungry. I hope the blueberries and sultanas are a turning point for you PRMG.
Maddi is size 10-11, Kodi fits the 6 with room to grow still.
Maddi at 2 was also a size 8, but i know she will be really tall, Kodi i'm still undecided on.
Maddi is still a fussy eater, i'm waiting for the day she will try something new.
Kodi will sit there & have Oats, pancakes, cereal(Special K etc.. we don't eat fruit loops or cocoa pops), weetbix, toast, bacon & eggs etc.. She'll give anything a go.
Maddi will either have weetbix , toasted cheese sand-which or pancakes, it's been that way since she was 1 lol
FW - I hope the food is a turning point too. Yesterday, she asked specifically for blueberries. Might get some strawberries this week and try them too.
She eats weetbix, toast, cruskets, LCMs, sultana bran buds, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, cheese sandwich, rice cakes, rice, mashed potato, sausages and hot chips. Anything else and it's a fight. She'll eat party pies too, and only the other night tried bolognaise sauce again. She's just started to eat jelly with fruit pieces in it. We eat pretty healthy here and I hate that I have to serve up food that isn't so great just to get her to eat something. We've given her what we eat for dinner for ages, she just looks at it, and if there's nothing else, she doesn't eat. It's so frustrating.
