Tbh guys, I could really care less. This world would be boring without everyone thinking/doing differently. I am doing what is the best for myself and K. I have done my research and I am quite happy with it. I have had the okay from my those around me and it is not really an issue, was just speaking to Ferrals I think?!? Or Kitty in passing. It has nothing to do with me not wanting K to not be a baby, just what is right for us and our situation. : )
I could of not said anything and done it, but that is me. Honest as can be.. Thanks everyone for their input. : )

I am never giving Chloe solids, I want her to be my little baby foreverrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
Meanwhile my mum just told me her SIL so technically my aunty but we don't have anything to do with them, fed all her kids CARNATION MILK!!!!! from birth!!!! And they're only my age so not that long ago!!
-
allyssa had her first solids lastnight, krystal came up gave her a kiss when she walked off there was a bit of lamb hanging out a's mouth, i went to get it and the cheecky bugger swallowed it then grined! all the kids were having one form of solid or another once they were 3 months aswell, only problem i have with them and food is they eat to freakin much!! she has been prety good since, all happy and smiles like she is in on a big secret or something.
im giving the lactation cookies one more shot tonight. i got the house under controll with T was at day care today:dance: i realy dont want to give up bfing yet, just hope its not to late :(
has anyone got a bumbo? ive been looking at them but not sure on them, they look like theyd be uncomfy
-
sarah: i have a bumbo and Chase pretty much hates it. I cna sit him in it when he is in a good mood but any other time forget about it. I'm sad because for my friends baby she loved it, Chase is just picky. He might change when he is a bit older. but lol about A sucking up that lamb
louise: I wish Chase would stay a happy baby that never cries forever :)
solids: heheh I have the rice cereal but thinking of starting 5.5 months, just starting with once a day and then getting more in the lead up to 6 months for the 'real' food :)
grrr baby is crying right next to DH but he can;t be screwed picking him up what a jerk
-
I was going to get a bumbo but I asked my MCHN about them and she said that they can cause spine issues as alot of them are lopsided when they are moulded - I will just use H's rocker for a while I think, I know alot of bubs that use them and love them though!
-
I have one. I think they'd be ok as long as it's not used as a babysitter and Bub is not in it constantly. I tried Wyatt in it last night, so cute but he is not quite ready!
What's the go with walkers? I thought they were a big no no but they seem to be popular again!?!?
Who the F* know what we are allowed to use these days.
Not that I have room for one or anything!

Ellas physio tells me the myths about bumbos, walkers, jolly jumpers etc are crap....provided you don't use them as a baby sitter

Not going to get into a debate or anything but being a mother of 4 and the eldest being 18 years old things have changed over the years and recomendations come and go and the way i see it, it is a guide for parents and when it comes down to it i know my children and what is best for them i have 3 very healthy teenage boys with NO allergies NO weight problems NO skin problems NO diegestion problems and all are doing very well and to be totally truthfull ALL 3 were on solids at 3 months ALL 3 DID NOT sleep on their backs like recomended and ALL 3 had pillows before the age of 12 months and did not suffocate in their sleep and none of them were BF for longer then a week and they are all perfectly healthy so i must have done something right i have and will always follow my instincts and what i feel is right for my children as i expect all other mothers do.
And as Tams said her midwife told her to start solids my doctor told me to start solids to help ella's reflux.
And i also feel it does not make them grow up to quick it's farex god sake not a t-bone they still have their bottles and are babies it's just a little rice cereal to help fussy hungry babies or in my case reflux.
My children survived all the changes in recomendations over the last 18 years of formula vs Breastfeeding tummy vs back sleeping solids at an early age vs waiting until older.
It is hard enough being a mum with all the pros and cons and do's and dont's without being judged and ridiculed by others for doing what they believe is the right choice for them.
Oh! and my sister and i were brought up on carnation milk and vitamin drops when we were babies and we are both fine but that was another recomendation back then.
There thats my 2 bobs worth and i dont have one regret at my way of parenting.
-
No ones judging! You have your opinions and ways of doing things and so do I.
As I said in my post - everyone is different and we all need to do what we feel is right for our families.
-
louise: the health nurse I saw said the same all those things are fine as long as the kids aren't left in there all day :)
Kylz: have fun!!!!
jaki: I decided against a walker because i felt it would be an extra cost that would be wasted in my tiny tiny house :) Also no mums around me have ever used them and I am pretty much a sheep and just follow what they do hehehe if i had a bigger house I would probably get one.
we do what we gotta do for these little munchkins don't we? Having all the different points of view is great for me being a first time mum so that I can take in all the advice you guys have to share :)

on a side note, i was trying to find the forum part to post this question but wasn't sure but maybe one of you knows the answer or where I should post it?
Even though I BF I got my period back around 9 weeks after c-section, I think that was because I was expressing and my milk supply disappeared etc. So I got the period 13th April. Then I started the mini pill. Had a little bit of bleeding 1st May but only lasted 2-3 days. And I haven't seen my period since. Is it just because I'm BFing that my period is going to be irregular until I stop? Or does the mini pill make your periods irregular? or is the combination of both or am I just a freak lol?
Before I got pg I had irregular periods, in the 12 months leading up to me falling pregnant I had my period 6 times...(I also took a hpt last monday just to make sure I wasn't UTD hehe it was neg)
-
I've got mine back like clockwork... F**king ripped off I say!!!
-
Kitty, I can't help u. I haven't got mine back and with Luke, I didn't get them back until he stopped bf
Tams - lol I totally forgot about my avi. Thanks for reminding me. How's the gym n ww going?? I haven't been able to get to the gym as much as I like but I'm down to 71 and aiming to go another 6kg lol I have till the 20 July before my next dress fitting so still plenty of time. I am 3kg less than wat I was before pregnancy
Oh no brissie girls - I won't be able to make it on the 20 June for the meet up as Luke has his daycare fotos from 10:30-11:30 n Monday isn't his day there so will have to take him n wait around etc
Afm - so much going on. I have changed my uni's from open uni to southern cross uni but still doing it by dis Ed. I found with open uni last term that the unit coordinator was just unhelpful and sort of turned me off. Wedding is now 12 weeks away - scary stuff. And Jack, oh my went n saw a family friend who had a lil girl 2 weeks before I had jack n jack was a giant compared to her but one thing I wouldn't change it for the world. Love his massive smiles with his chubba cheeks n the way he cuddles into me when he's falling asleep.
