He was better yesterday but they still didnt listen re: the 2 serves of adult yoghurt so I have found a new one (used to be an ABC but now privatly owned and the group leader in his room has been in that room for 10yrs) that is wayyy better for only a little bit more. THe room is brighter the toys are newer and the staff took an interest in Jus and I so he starts there on 27th. They are willing to do whatever it takes to get him in his home routine where i think the current one is just too busy to care which is sad. BUT OMG I Looked at a centre that 2 friends kids go to and I can now see why they are both ALWAYS sick. Gross it was dirty and hot and gross. They have a farm yard out in the playground and it STANK. Poooooeeeeeee Sorry but animals dont belong in a child care centre and to top it off there was NO security to get into the place. you simply walk in. The new place you need a pin number to get through the front door.
We were told at mothers group that when they hit 4-5 months you shouldnt any more. I used VERY hot water though.:
Yeah there are a few schools of thought on that one but I just find it easy to do so ill keep doing it a bit longer, same as I did with Bella.
My MCHN recomends sterilizing till 1 - iv been with her for nearly 3 years now so I trust her, so Ill keep going a bit longer.
Thanks mums. I'll just leave the sterilizer at my mums and she can decide if she wants to bother. The good thing about my electric one is it only takes 8 mins so not a huge hassle. had the same awful night in a row is seven months a growth spurt time or something? It's either that or maybe his top teeth are wanting to come out
I don't, I used to not bother for BM an sterilise for formula but I'm so last. Just really hot soapy water.
I hate the way they look when they come out of the steriliser, all spotty and stuff.
I eat crap too but wyatt has whatever is healthy in the house. If that's nothing then I give him cereal and a steamed pear or something. We are not weekly shoppers so there isn't often food in the house.
Yesterday we discovered we love cottage cheese and avo with toast.
Bls is messy tho, I feel like I nee to bath him 3 times a day!
Omg jaki it is so messy!! I'm a meanie though and only do food with her 1-2 times a day. Last night she was filthy, and only had zuchini,brocoli and sweet potato. How the hell it got so messy, I dont know seen as that's relatively clean food! Can't wait til its warmer so she can eat in just a nappy :)
We are taking Chloe to her first fireworks tonight! See if shes amazed,scared,or completely uninterested!!

Kylz, that would be a helth and saftey issue with the animals wouldnt it? when trent started they had baby chickens in the kinder room, but had very strict rules if they wanted to go near them. we have to put in a code to get in aswell, i sent Brendan on a pick up, once he was in the door they gave him 50 Q's and he had to prove he was dad:lol: hes to scared to go back!!
Kitty, i dont steralize never have. i wash with hot soapy water then rinse. every week or 2 i boil them on the stove depending how lazy i am.

Miss A was 6 months yesterday :D my big-yet-still-tiny baby girl had her first solid dinner, 3 hot chips, and half the insides of a dim sim!
the other week i cut a chunk of K's apple and she sat happily in her walker eating it, so it looks like she will be skipping purees and mash, each time i try her with one, jar or home made she chokes on it, even the tinyest bit, but loves finger sised food, go figuer!
Another thing the cheeky monkey dose, she will only sleep half hour at a time in the cot, but would sleep all night in the todler bed if i didnt have to put Krystal in it. she has done 4hrs straight in it & im sure she would have slept all night if i let her!
well im off to bed, we FINALY after all these years have a routine, boys in bed by 8:30, girls soon after, if A is still up she nods off with me, we get up at 6 then the kids start the day anytime from 7:30, giving me a few hrs peace at night, and a few more of a morning.

sarah you are soooo lucky you have a nice night routine, I'm so jealous you have no idea. I'm gonna say Chase must be going through a growth spurt time because yesterday was the 4th day in a row 1am wake up then 4am then 6am....its freaking me out, I want my night routine back!!
Does anyone know how to get bubs to stop biting me when BFing? Now that he has teeth it bloody hurts!!!! He does it maybe, 2-3 times a day. And I straight away scream (cos it freaking hurts) and take him off and then I say 'No' in my angry mummy voice and at first he used to cry and get upset but now he thinks its a game and when I say 'no' the cheeky monkey smiles at me :shakehead: then goes back to trying to eat my boob. A friend of mine said to pinch him when he bites but I just can't do it to him. But now I'm getting afraid to feed him cos there is a very high chance he will bite me :(
He is also incredibly bitey. Like if you hold him close to your face he will grab your face and try to eat your chin. LIterally, gets your chin in his mouth and then chomps down or just any part of your face, or if he can get a bite of your clothes or your shoulder he will go for that. Is that weird? That he tries to bite so much? Or is that a normal teething thing? I just dont remember my nephews or neices going vampire baby on me and trying to actually eat me.

Take him off and say no... But thats the end of the feed... When MJ did it, I was told to say no and put her on the floor. I found if I cried out or said ow, she would laugh :(
Walking away worked, she got it really quickly.

Sarah, DSS is going well, thanks for asking! Yesterday he told us that he wants to stay permanently, so we are going to have to get him into some coumselling to help him make sure it's the right choice and then we have to tell him mum ... Gulp... It's not going to be a nice thing, she is a nasty price of work at times and I'm pretty sure she will make it really tough on him :(

MJ has rabbits and g/pigs at her DC, but they are kept really clean and if the kids handle then under supervision they wash up straight away.

I'm so tired. Physically and mentally. Eden has taken to waking 2-3 times a night for about an hour and half just won't let y darn nipple go. If I try to take it away, or manage to but put her into her cot, she just screams and cries. Then if she is asleep, she'll sleep for the same amount of time then start again. I have put her to sleep on her tummy a few times, and she calms down (she sleeps during the day on her tummy- but I can check on her during the day). After 2 (and a bit hours) tonight, I've put her to sleep on her tummy. I'm exhausted, I have a massive headache from this cold coming on, she's finally asleep. Normally I'd flip her over while she's asleep, but I did that earlier and it just resulted in her waking again.
Health nurse said the SIDS guideline says no tummy til they can roll, but she sleeps so much better during the day!
She's got the croup/bronchiolitis cough back, temp and runny nose and is oh-so-grumpy. Needles were yesterday and she was given phernergan, which increases the SIDS risk. I already panic about SIDS, so let's sleep this baby on her tummy to add to that risk :cry: I don't know what to do. She's coughing right now, I'm hoping it's not being made worse by vein on her tummy.... I just don't want her to die coz I put her to sleep on her tummy Coz I needed sleep. I'm a mother- isn't that what I signed up for?
Any babies sleep on their tummy? I wouldn't mind so much if she rolled and put herself there...

As I said in FB, miss A tummy sleeps and has done for months.
To begin with I was terrified, but I made sure we had no other risk factors going on, I also have a breathing monitor under her...
If she was on her back she would be awake every 45-60 mins, she just hates it!

Jayden has taken to 2am waking again so I feel your pain Rhi. He also has this terrible cough and it's like he is chocking so to the dr we go this arvo. If he is ok he have his needles too.

The growth spurt is over!!! (I think) He is back to sleeping 8pm to 8am :) oh yeah, what a champ. Tonight is his first night sleeping in his cot. I'm absolutely petrified. What if he gets too hot? What if he gets too cold?? how will i know if Im not in the same room!! aahhhhh!!! no wonder im awake at 11pm...also I'm watching weeds hehehe
Kitty he is getting there. His eyes were better the next day. The cough is sill there but he isn't throwing up after every bottle now. he is still rolling even in a sleeping bag grrr just wish he sleep through again I'm dealing with mass headaches every day.

I'm still getting bitten really badly while BFing Chase. SOmetimes I can catch him before he does it and he just smiles like me telling him 'no' is funny. I've taken him off and sat him up away from me when he does bite and he cries so he knows its wrong to bite but he loves doing it. My nipples hurt so much, every time he feeds now I wince from the pain. Will nipple shields help at all??
Nah. Wyatt used to clamp down as coming off the shield and it hurt like crazy!
Don't get me started on BFing. Or any feeding for that matter. Nightmare!

Doesn't want boob. Doesn't want bottle. Just a battle between us as usual.
ATM he is having small amounts of formula or ebm during the day if I can get him to drink at all. And at night he is having boob if he is sleepy enough to not realise what a horrible offensive thing is in his mouth!
Its the age! Hamish is lucky to drink half of his day time bottles! Really only drinks at night - when he is half asleep!
My MCHN yesterday told me that its very comom when they start eating! Still a PIA though!

jak ive recently read something about the 6month breast refusal, maybe he's just going through that? will he drink from a sippy cup? youre doing so well persisting with boob, it must be driving you bonkers!!
kylz its mostly whingeing about ella, chloe is being a little champ eating solids like shes a bloody 2 year old and feeding great, and mostly sleeping well except for when we were trying to sleep overnight at hossy with ella but thats understandable i couldn't sleep either!! just having a bit of a rough time with ella, but nothing I can do about it, so better suck it up! just a hard sometimes :(
oh and who has teeth? i still have a gummy bubba!!

haha you would have huge guns!! ella is 4, but physically and neurologically she is 10-12 months. she understands more lately which is great, but is classed as non verbal so cant tell us and her (and our) frustration is out of control!! shes getting an ipad and some apps next week which im hoping will help her.....is Bella 3? ive heard the 3's are worse than the 2's!! has she been like that for a while (like is it H man related) or something new? hope its just a phase hun xx

That must be frustrating for everyone! Hope she enjoys her iPad!! Bella will be 3 in December and it's like she is going on 13! Has an answer for everything!! Sleeping was ok before H but now it's just worse! Last few nights have been better so here's hoping she get better!!
