I've had to buy a bed rail today, Amelia's scared me two days in a row by being very close to the edge of the bed when I wake up (she'll just be happily chattering away to the mattress and her hands )
Sent from my iPhone so forgive the speelung misstacks ;)

jaki: I wouldn't be worried, kids all progress differently. I don't think Chase will crawl anytime soon because he hates his tummy but I dont want him to crawl until after we come back from thailand cos if he figures out he can move on his own he might be a little shizer in thailand and not want to be in his stroller :) For rolling I used to sit on the floor with Chase for ages and prop his arm under his body and then try and see if he could roll, or I would help him and then clap and make a big deal out of it. Eventually he figured out how to get his arm out of the way himself to roll over. For sitting the dr's at the hospital said I had to help him strengthen his back so when he sat I sat behind him and held his hips and bum in place so he could move his top half all around and not fall over. Now he is getting much better at sitting, still throws himself back every so often, but he will sit and play and actually sits up quite straight now instead of being nearly folded in half. Lots of nudey time helps too :) Not sure if anything I did actually helped him learn this stuff but I like to take a tiny bit of credit lol
sammie: Is MJ excited to have DSS around all the time?? Although I guess at 13 he might not have time for a toddler lol I was reading ur thread about him having to move in with you because his mother was a cow, its prob better that he is with you than her anyway.
oh crap i wanted to write to everyone else but chase just woke up! BBL
-
Hey kitty, could really ask on fb but did grant go off about that fb update last night? Hope everything is ok.
I went to reply this morning the didn't. He needs a slap! Lol
-
Oh yeah he went off his tree. I didn't actually say anything wrong though he is more ****ed that people know he is a absent father and have actually said it on fb. He sent me a text saying he was done with me actually so I might be single. U know he hasn't seen chase at all today yet? It's pretty sad that this is a typical weekend for us. Already feel like a single mum anyway. He is too busy sleeping because he was out partying last night. That's what I hate the most if he went out all the time I wouldn't mind as ling as he got up and spent time with his son the next day.
-
:( that sucks kitty. Hugs hun xx
-
Boo to him :(
I agree with Jaki, he does need a slap!
I hope you can work it out, but that is just rubbish behavior

Thanks girls. All is good... and getting better.
Look have a question, does anyone else make up large batches of food? I do three weeks at a time.... and have been looking for those bags you can fill up. Think it is Cherub baby bags... with the screw top... so the spoon can fit on.
I hope all your babies are fabulous and healthy. :) xx
-
I have those, lmp - bought them at Toys R Us :)
-
 kitty, hope he wakes up soon, you cant continue on like that when you have kids, Df has just realized that in the last 2 years great for the girls, bit late for the boys tho.
:hello: Koby!! love your new Av, how are you?
Iona, hope next week is perfect for you.
 Tams.
No problem Kylz :)
Taking miss A for a check tommorow hoping to crack 5.5 at least. She is a odd little thing, hates being on her belly, cracks it and instantly rolls over to her back, yet spends 90 percent of the night asleep on her tummy!!
-
tams - i have been doing up batches of purees for jack but freeze them in an ice cube tray (i have the tupperware ones where they have the lid to cover n rubber to pop out) and then transfer them to the snappy freezer bags. that way i can change vegies everyday etc
-
Is there such thing as 6mth baby blues or am I special
-
Kylie, I think it can hit you at any stage... But around 6 months your baby stops being a 'baby' to a lot of people and people expect you to just get on with it....
I think you sort of get over the 'babymoon' around this point, sometimes earlier, sometimes later.
Can you go and chat to someone?
I think between 6 and 9 months with MJ I felt really low.

Hugs Kylz.... I think life and especially life just has ups and down all the time..but we soldier on my love. Come in and vent in here and know that we have either been, are going or about to go through exactly what you are feeling.

First of all, thanks girls. :)
2nd: HUGE hugs to you Kylz. Hope all is okay...
Thanks for sharing feed info too... Oh, Tupperware. So need to place an order. :) I usually do one mixed bag.. cauli, broc, sweet pot, carrot ect... then some just on their own. Been putting them in freezer glad bags.. with zip but I have noticed some are
getting freezer burn.. Unless that is hubby that is not shutting properly. I was looking for the bags as I thought they might be handy for the days that I am out and about... Or do you guys just take your container? I checked out toys r us and they claim they have no clue what I am talking about.. Maybe I can shop online...
Anyone do mashed up banana and avocado yet?? SO much fun!! Ha. xx
-
Hope you're doing ok Tams xxx
Oh yay tassie will be beautiful Iona! If I don't get back on here beforehand, I hope you have the best day, and the rain p*isses off!!
Kylz yes you are special lol. Seriously though, its probably what sammie said xxx will txt you about Friday.
Huge storm here - love it!! Chloe had her first solids today and loved it!! Was sh*tting myself a bit cos I didn't know what I was doing but she went so well!! Sucked the life out of a wedge of steamed Apple, ate 3 half sticks of carrot and a crust of bread!!! Trying broccoli tomorrow :) am hating that DH moved to night shift. I do mornings and night routine by myself now :( lovely to have him round for morning tea and lunch, but that's the cruisiest time of the day!!! Oh well better toughen up lol
-
Tams- was is a toys r us that has a baby's r us in it?
Kylz I'm a bit down too ATM. Mine is totally sleep/feeding related.
I got new born cuddles today!!! :b
-
yay koby!!!! Your new avi is perfectly beautiful!
lou: I saw the photos of miss Chloe having a pig out :) I mostly puree but if I'm having toast chase gets a crust or if we are having steamed vegies he gets some to nibble on. I think he prefers the puree though the spoiled little buggar.
tams: I've done apple and avocado and pear and avocado, Im too cheap to buy bananas right now lol also he isn't a huge fan of banana flavoured stuff so I think he is a weirdo who doesnt like bananas. I do up batches and put them in decor fresh square containers and I do a few different ones at a time then alternate between what he gets for lunch and dinner. For breakfast if im too lazy to make it which i usually am its just jar food, ones with oatmeal and museli are the ones he loves the most. And I meant to say this days ago but I'm so sorry for your loss
iona: I can't believe your wedding is so close!!!! So excited for you!!
jaki: are you ok?? is Wyatt going through a special wonder week or something??
Kylz:
Thanks guys for your support with the old DH chestnut. Its just the same stuff we keep fighting about over and over and he is 'good' for a couple of weeks then decides because he was 'good' he goes 'bad' for like the same number of weeks. Dumbass. Anyway I've had it up to here with his selfish behaviour and told him I wanted to go to counseling to which he refused and now is being very very 'good' I think to avoid me mentioning counseling again. Unfortunately for him I'm not taking no for an answer cos we will end up right back here in a couple of weeks/months if we don't get this sorted properly. I think I'm in the right and he thinks he is in the right, we just need someone we dont know to tell us we are idiots and how to sort ourselves out. He just gets me so frustrated sometimes.
QUESTION: I think Chase doesn't like my boob milk anymore. Whenever I give it to him he sucks but its like he doesnt really want it cos he plays around and latches then unlatches then latches then unlatches repeat many many times. He much prefers solid food. Maybe I should stop BFing so much now?? He eats breakfast, lunch and dinner solids and he def enjoys his morning feed and he tolerates his nighttime feed when he is sleepy cos its a comfort thing but during the day he just isn't interested...thinking maybe I should just cut it down to one or two during the day instead of three or more. Has this ever happened to anyone else?? Or maybe its his teething?? He has two teeth now so maybe his teething is making him not want to suck for the milk??
I've started giving chase that voalia baby yoghurt and as you can see on fb he loves the stuff :)
Hello to those I missed!!!
-
If you want to cut the feeds I'd pump and give it to him in a sippy cup if possible. Plus then if it's a faze your supply won't be compromised.
Wyatt has always hated boob. It's a constant battle. He buggers about all day then feeds all night. Then at 4-5am it's time to get up :(
So he is waking me on average about 6 times, then starts his day BY 5am.
I'm completely exhausted. To the point where I just can't be F'd with him for pretty much the first half of the day. So I feel like a crap mum. Then all is good for a couple of hours, then the afternoon session of fussiness begins and I'm cranky again.
I KNOW he is a baby. I KNOW he can't help it. I KNOW it's not forever. Buy I KNOW it's affecting our relationship. Because I'm so f***ing cranky all the time!
Then Stephen is superdad and wyatt laughs and plays etc and I get to be the half lunatic half zombi mother.
I don't even mind the overnight wakes, it's the early morning starts that are killing me :(
-
H man has gone off his bottles ATM too.. He would just prefer food but I keep presisting! Some days I'm lucky to get 1/2 of each bottle in him!
Jac - H wakes about that time too but we give the dummy and he nods off or we chuck him in the middle of us (and sometimes his sister!!) and he will then sleep till 7.30 or 8.
Will he get in bed with you?
-
jaki: what kate suggested is what i do too when Chase wakes up at an ungodly hour (which isnt often but it happens) I just put him in the bed with me and flip out the boob in his mouth and drift off back to sleep. A dummy would be better than using my boobie as a comfort tool but chase can't take a dummy. I know exactly how you feel about 'superdad' dad's get to do all the fun stuff so of course the bubs are excited to see dad, they see us all day so we are like part of the scenery. I feel very unamusing sometimes. Also does W sleep during the day?? If I ever stay up to late whenever chase sleeps, and he only sleeps for 30-40mins a time I make myself sleep as well. Even just a nanna nap is enough to give me a boost so Im not a walking zombie.
Maybe it is just a phase this refusing my milk, I'll keep persisting, I suppose all I can do is offer it to him as much as I can and let him drink what he wants.
Anyone else's bub got any teeth poking through?? I bought chase the cutest toothbrush (apparently you are supposed to brush their teeth as soon as there is a tooth! didn't know that until I went to this mothers info thingy) its just made of like plastic chewable rubber but looks like a car wash roller and all he has to do is chew it which he does happily.
-
GL kitty, I hope your DH agrees to counselling, and more importantly wakes up to himself. Xx Chlo has gone off feeds a bit, 3 or 4 a day, and one of them is usually a drink.....I blame teeth and no growth spurting going on!!
Hugs jak, you have done so well perservering this long, I would be tired and grumpy too!! Could he have any undisgnosed reflux or palate/tongue issues making feeding such a task?
-
Thanks guys. Should have mentioned we do co-sleep from his first wake. Dummy doesn't work, he really seems to need the feeds because of the lack during the day.
We had all the tongue stuff checked out after he was born but nothing wrong. His reflux seemed to fade out at 9 weeks.
Last night was a bit better. Yesterday we bought him an Amber teething necklace, coincidence? He also had nurofen, but I don't think it knocks them out like panadol.
So he had 4 feeds and up at 6am :)
Just in time for waybaloo. He is obsessed with that show!
-
what is waybaloo??? i might have to google that. Chase loves watching elmo, that furry red fruitcake is my best friend at the moment. I also bought chase an amber necklace but I can't tell the diff. I dont even own baby panadol still so either chase has a really high pain threshold or I don't notice when he is in pain from teething. Good job on letting mummy get more sleep Wyatt. I feel like a lay-a-bout my day starts at about 830am these days, after chase decides that getting up with daddy at 6am is fun, but he goes straight back to sleep thank god.
-
It's on abc kids at 6am. They are these freaky lill monkey type things that do yoga and stuff. It puts me to sleep but he loves it.
Wish we got abc kids on mystar :(
