We had a very productive day got to the play cafe as it opeend and the kids played well for about 90 minutes then we went grocery shopping which also went well although I forgot milk so stopped at the servo on the way home :doh:. Mum had lunch with us as she is getting her new kitchen installed and was getting cabin fever. I baked a batch of anzac biscuits, got some washing done and put clean sheets on the spare bed for the parents :) so all in all a great day apart from the rain, dd1 cutting her foot on a broken toy and the girls knocking the light out of the roof in dd2's room while playing super hero's! :o

My midwife is coming for her last visit tomorrow :( will be good to see how much H has gained in the last two weeks though

Hi ladies. Well things are certainly pretty full on with three kids under three. Although I still can't believe that my little boy is turning three in eight days!!! He's just growing up so quickly that it makes me cherish every newborn moment with Arlia because I know it will be over way too soon.

Yesterday was my first day home alone all day with all the littlies while hubby went back to work. It was like the universe wanted to throw the worst at me the first day as an initiation, lol. The kids are all little snotballs at the moment and the germs are making the older two a little grumpy. Luckily Arlia doesn't seem to be bothered by it other than getting a little frustrated when she gets snuffly while feeding. Kyson was a little terror in the morning and Shayla was very clingy, so I ended up having Arlia in the hugabub most of the morning (actually most of the day) and carrying/cuddling Shayla. It was wet and cold outside so we couldn't even get out in the backyard. Shayla then refused to have a nap for the first time ever. Each time I tried to put her down she would stand up in the cot and scream. Of course, the lack of a nap did not improve her mood.

Shayla then decided she would pull all the plastic containers out of one of the kitchen cupboards. I knew she was doing it, but left her as it was keeping her occupied while I was feeding Arlia. I guess the cupboard needed a tidy-up anyway, lol. We needed to do some grocery shopping so I ended up leaving all the containers over the kitchen floor while we went up the street. The kids were all surprisingly good in the supermarket. I had Arlia in the hugabub and the other two in the pram. The only problem we had was when Shayla decided to practise being a banshee (she just squeals for the fun of it) and Kyson decided to join in. The funny thing was when it set off other people's kids. Two other children in trolleys decided they would squeal too, so at least it wasn't just my kids hehe. We then picked up my step son and headed home.

In the middle of organising dinner I had to feed Arlia. Just after she finished feeding and was falling back asleep she started gagging. Then she projectile vomitted! I've never seen anything like it before. I couldn't believe how much force the milk came out with and how on earth there was that much milk in her. Her clothes were sopping and I was soaked through to my bra and underwear. I had to strip us both off and shower us with the other two kids playing around in the bathroom and bedroom.

Just before hubby got homefrom work I managed to finish dinner, clean up the kitchen and tidy the lounge room and study (which is where we have allt he kid's toys). I was rather exhausted, but very proud of myself for getting through a difficult day with a smile on my face, lol.

Today is going much smoother, and both girls are napping at the moment. Kyson is playing quietly, but I know it's because he's taking his time doing a poop, so I'll have a lovely nappy to change soon, hahaha.


Sararose - I know what it's like to wonder if people think you are beatig your child. Shayla has become a little wild child and loves being outside running around. She flies around the yard so fast and often trips herself up and has bruises and scrapes over her legs. Then her and Kyson decided it was fun to play near the rose bushes and over a couple of days she managed to get scratches all over both her arms. We very quickly had the rose bushes ripped out. We'll plant something a little less "stabby" some time.

me-lisa - Oh my gosh! What a day for you yesterday. I can't believe miss Alicia did a number 3 at the dentist. Not fun! I remember changing Shayla in the boot of my old car a couple of times after number 3's in the car. Arlia hasn't given me the joy while out and about yet, but I'm sure it's bound to happen at some stage. I hope all goes well at your GP visit. After Arlia did her projectile vomit yesterday she also did another vomit in the eveining on Daddy and brought up her entire feed again. Of course then I started stressing about pyloric stenosis (stupid medical background that makes me stress) but I'm sure she doesn't have it.

Razz - Sorry to hear about both your kids having reflux. That can't be easy :(

lct - Well done on surviving your first week home alone. I certainly understand how hard it is sometimes to even get into day clothes. I get Arlia down for a nap in the morning and then think I can get ready and brush my hair, only to realise that it means I need my bedroom and ensuite. My two monkeys want to followme everywhere so the bedroom and ensuite are off-limits while Arlia is sleeping in my room.
My bubs have always gotten sweaty heads when in the hugabub and my chest is exposed. I tend to put a little wrap or blanket across the top of my chest once they are strapped in for their head to rest on :)

Elocin - Sorry to hear you are struggling with the dairy free diet. Great news about all the weight your little guy is putting on though! I bet you were more traumatised by the needles than he was yeah? I'm sure it's always that way, although I thankfully haven't had to go through that with any of mine so far. We've declined vaccines at this stage and are discussing whether we want to get any now that DS is getting older and going to start a Montessori toddler program shortly.

nickers - When I pick up my step son I am just popping all the kidlets in the car. I haven't got a routine for Arlia, and she sleeps so well that I don't mind waking her up at this stage because I know she'll go back down fairly easily when we get home. Once she has her own sleep routine though we'll be looking at other options. My step son is 12 already so I have looked up the bus timetable for him. It's only an 8 minute bus trip home.

Miss E - Oh gosh I hear you on the tanties! My DS is almost three and has been throwing some great ones. Even my 14 month old DD has suddenly learnt how to lash out a little. Fun fun, lol.
Lovely to hear that Coops is putting on weight nicely, but it must have been scary to think there might be a problem. Very glad you were able to get it checked and ruled out at the GP so quickly. Shayla has uneven creases on the backs of her legs and the MCHN pointed it out when she was younger and said it could be hip displasia. We very quickly had it checked and she was perfectly fine. I guess the MCHN's have to err of the side of caution because they are not medically trained.

Peanutter - Oh dear, it sounds like the germs are attacking at your place! I hope everyone feels better soon. The kids here have the snuffles, but luckily it doesn't seem too bad so far. Hopefully my breastmilk is helping them all.

Sorry to anyone I have missed. I started this post around 1pm this afternoon and have only just gotten this much down and now Arlia is waking for a feed, lol.

How are you all going? Sorry I haven't been on here for a while, things have been a little hectic.

I was just catching up on everyone's posts, it is amazing to read all the different experiences, challenges and most of all rewards of a new little bubba.

Pippa is doing well, she is now almost 8 weeks and the time just seems to be flying by. She is growing so quickly, I am trying to hold on to every moment as she is my last little bubba. Her big sisters are both enjoying it and being very helpful, it is so cute.

Sleepwise I am fortunate at the moment, have implemented a loose routine that seems to be working but past experiences tells me that it could be short lived :lol:

Unfortunately, Pippa has reflux and it is hard when she is crying but I just give her lots of cuddles and work through it.

Miss E - i hope the osteo helps on Friday. we had a friend in Melb who was an osteo and he used to help ds1 out with his reflux. i found sometimes he was worse directly after treatment then noticably better. The chiro's at my work see a few bubs too. Wow 1kg in 2weeks piling on the weight these bubs! well done

Sarah- what a productive day you had! ds2 and i also made Anzac bikkies, they are so yum we have eaten half of them already :)

lct- i found my first c/s recovery to be my slowest/hardest. i would think it would b the other way around but my thirs c/s seems to have been my easiest. although i have still been waering my harry high pants undies lol so jelous of your big bath! i long for one seriously... we have a small bath, i had one a few nights ago cause i just wanted one so much but i cant even stetch my legs out!

re weight- amazingly ive lost my baby weight plus 2kg more....i havent been eating super healthy or doing exercise so i need to watch it and make sure i dont start putting it back on cause i wanna loose another 10kg. waiting for my 6wk check up b4 i do any exercise othe than some walks.
Nic- how did the needles go? ive made rykers pead appt at 6wks but wondering whether we need to see him. i know he wont really do anything my gp cant do and i dont have any issues with him atm, did they say anything when u cancelled? he was just the hospial pead aswell as we dont already have one. you should be darn proud of yourself breast feeding Connor, he is stacking on the weight isnt he!

peanutter- i hope u got some sleep i really feel for u as we had the big boys sick the wk i came home from hospy with bronchitis and tonsilitis, high temps, vomitting not fun at all...

Mylitta - my dh went back to work Monday aswell but last wk he had to go in 2 days and the first day he went we had a shocker, the big boys fought or mucked up all day, it was so draining.

Lisa- number 3's when out how fun!! not.... touch wood we havent had a number 3 yet but sure it will come... we get plenty of clothes changes though when Ryker wees on his clothes while changing his nappy

Donna Jayne- nice to hear from you you, when was Pippa born? there are quiet a few of us in here with 3 kiddlets, my first 2 were 18months apart, how is dd2 going?

AFM- yesterday went well, i put Ryker down in the pram after his feed and we walked to school (batch of cupcakes and all :)) Ryker had me on my toes all day though as he seemed to wake each feed before i thought he would. He spent all his sleeps in either the pram or capsule yesterday as after his next feed i then had to take ds2 to swimming, then after the next it was school pick up. i was planning on walking up to school again in the arvo but it rained not long before pick up time so didnt want to chance it.

tomorrow will be a tester i have to do the double drop off ds1 to school, ds2 to preschool then ds3 and me to mothers group.
i think im getting tennis elbow with all this pumping my left elbow is sore... and my back, i soooo need and want a massage, but finding the time is the hard part. should have done it when dh was off work..
would have loved to have gone to the anzac march today but bit tough this year, hopefully next year, and my pop was a ww2 veteran who always marched and no one has stepped in his shoes since he passed away, spoke to dad about it and pushing him to start marching, if not either myself my brother or sister will. i think its important to carry it on and hope one day my boys can March in respect for him.
AND my little Rykie roos was 1month old yesterday!! loosing his squishy newborness which is so sad but i love his alertness and occasional smiles we now get :)

Hey Nickers,

Pippa was born on the 1st of March, so we just scraped in! She was a planned c-section (39 weeks), due to DD2 being an emergency c-section. She was only a little bubba at 3kg!

DD2 is handling it really well, which has surprised me - I thought she was going to be a nightmare lol. DD1 is an absolute angel and helps out too when she's not at school. She loves playing with DD2 so that helps me when I am trying to feed DD3.

I understand how you feel with all the pick up and drop off etc. It is so much harder when you've got to get another one in and out of the car. DD1 catches the bus now so I don't have to worry about the school run at the moment, which makes things a little easier. My first food shop by myself was a little daunting but we managed and it wasn't that bad.

Does anyone have any tips in regards to reflux? Pippa seems to cry every feed when I am burping her until she has a vomit and then she's not too bad. I keep her upright after feeds for as long as I can. But it breaks my heart to hear her cry like that, and I don't know how to reduce how uncomfortable she seems.

Hi gals (hello DonnaJayne!), typing one-handed so will have to skip personals. Have been reading, sounds like everyone is flat out - especially the 2nd and 3rd time mamas! Hope you and your beautiful babes are well, will catch up properly soon.

All ok with Miss W and I, some rough days - she went on a total nursing strike last Saturday, it was awful. After speaking with the ABA and the lovely BB ladies I worked out it was a combo of forceful letdown and over-tired. Was drowning the poor possum when all she wanted to do was sleep! So have been taking her off after letdown (which she hates, LOL) block feeding and trying different positions, feeds are much better. Have to make sure she doesn't stay up too long or get over-stimulated, which I learnt the hard way yesterday. We interrupted her long morning nap to run errands and didn't get home until 4 - she had only catnapped in between and went ballistic. I've never heard her scream like that, it was impossible to calm her down. DH finally got her to bed in total darkness with an hour of back patting around 6 and she slept until after 10. So will be avoiding a repeat of that! Day sleeps she seems to need a lot of help to settle, but is pretty good at self-settling during the night (touch wood). My sleeping is still on and off, but got 5 hours last night and am feeling pretty good. PND meds starting to help too methinks, though enough sleep is the key.

Had another crack at expressing, got a bigger flange and it worked a treat.

What else...W had a 4-wk check with the GP, has put on another 500g in 10 days and everything else is fine.

Connor sounds like he has a nose full of snot and it seems to be waking him up at night. When he breaths, it sounds exactly like when DH or I have a cold and our nose 'rattles' itms?

I have tried the nasal aspirator, but can only get little boogers out.

Any tips on helping to clear it?

Have you tried fess for little noses? It's a saline nasal spray. I find if you spray it and then use the aspirator you get a lot more out. Hth and the little mans cold clears up quickly :hug:

Thanks Miss E... I'm not 100% it's a cold, he just sounds stuffy in the nose. I dunno...

I third Fess spray, have used it on W a few times and it works a treat at softening up those boogers before using the aspirator. The aspirator that comes with it is much more effective than the one you buy separately. Is there a chemist close by? Or could a buddy pick it up for you? Hope you manage to catch up on sleep today hon.

Well all that stress for nothing ofcourse! she's put on 900gms in 4 weeks and is growing perfectly and doing all the right things, nurse wasnt concerned about the lack of playtime, and said its just a phase that will pass soon and to enjoy it while it lasts :)
all going well at home otherwise, its been freezing cold down here so its nice to have a snuggly sleepy baby to keep me warm! she actually slept 4 hours in her bassinet on tuesday night before coming into bed with me, was fabulous!
nothing else to report really, DD2 seems to have calmed down somewhat which is great.
parent teacher interviews tonight, will be interesting, i dont really like DD1's teacher, but she's great with the kids and charlotte's learning heaps so thats the main thing, the teacher just doesnt seem to have adult skills ITMS?

Poor Helena had a melt down last evening, screaming for 3+ hours poor thing. I think it was a combination of wind which was uncomfertable and stopped her from sleeping then she got way too overtired. She eventually settled and went to sleep at about 10 pm and then woke at 1.30 and 5am which was pretty good. I just felt so sorry for her :( hopefully today will be a better day

DD1 first day back at school and we got there on time with everything sorted. Unforunately DD1 decided to sleep in so I had to wake her which meant she was grumpy and argumentative all morning she was still looking forward to going to school though

How often is everyone getting there bubbas weighed? We havent ahd H weighed for a few weeks but she keeps growing out of clothes so Im not too worried. Think Im gettign a bit slack being my third bub. Waiting to see my midwife until tomorrow as she had to cancel yesterday due to a birth

we go through the mchn, our next weigh in is at 4 months.

Hi Elocin,

You could try the spray, that loosens the snot and helps it to run out better. That's what I used on DD2 when she got a snuffly nose :lol:

Hi everyone else :hello:

Just wondering how those of you who had CS's are going with your recovery? Are you following the rules and waiting till 6 weeks to do everything, or are you just going with what feels ok?

I'm generally pain free, but have been a bit achey the last couple of days, mind you I've put that down to the terrible weather we've had here in Melb. But, I have started doing a couple of things I probably shouldn't (very carefully of course). DS has been so distressed by the fact that I haven't been able to carry him that yesterday I decided to just see how I went and picked him up. I didn't have any pain at all and it meant the world to him, so did it again this morning. I also tried getting the capsule in and out of the car yesterday. Again no pain at the time, so I'm guessing it's ok :dunno:

I'm planning on calling my OB on Monday to get permission to drive - just hope he gives it because I'm going to have to with DH going back to work. Last time they just asked me if I could stand on one leg without any pain, I could, so they said ok. Fingers crossed it's that easy this time.

DJ- reflux is a hard one to cope with. ds1 had it pretty bad, he end up on Zantac for it. He would scream when we put him down on his back or his tummy, pretty much had to be propped up or on our chests the whole time....things like propping the bassinestt on an angle, putting a pillow on the change table, so he was never really horizontal. Osteo and chiro are other avenues you could try??

Skye- well done on Miss A's weight gain!! i hope the parent teacher night goes well, we have ours this term, not sure when though yet.
Sarah- poor Helena and poor you, gosh that must have been tiring for you, i hope she has a more settled night tonight
Miss E- i have had a pretty good c/s recovery here. Ive been driving for the last week and carrying the capsule etc i dont really have a choice when dh not around. naughty i know but i even carried Ryker in the capsule the day we came home from hospy.....we picked up the kids from school and ds2 carried on a massive tanty and refuse to walk or let go of dh, so he had to carry a kicking and screaming 4 1/2yr old i had no choice but to carry Ryker
ive never lasted the full 6 wks without driving... ds1 was in hospital, i went 2 wks and needed to go in an see him every day and had no family around to help. ds2 i managed 4wks

Ive had a pretty busy day. well dh caught man flu again and booked in to gp at 1030am so i was all organised to do the school and preschool run but then i did it without having to take Ryker! i came home, expressed and off to mothers group, met in a cafe today. was nice, was there for 2hrs, then i ran some errands whilst out an about, got home, feed Ryker again then it was off to do pick ups. Come home got dinner sorted and about to feed him again before we are off to soccer..
i am just planning on weighing Ryker when i go to the mothers group every second week at the clinic. we have done a few clothed weigh ins just so we can still gauge how much he is putting on without having to disturb him to a nudie state every time.

Miss E: I heard that if you are comfortable braking in the car, then you are right for driving, but that does mean you have to give the car a go first...

For all of those expressing are you all using pumps - manual or electric or hand expressing? Do you express straight into a bottle? I am thinking of doing some expressing for emergency uses so I can be away from the house and DH can give Sam a bottle or a cup if need be. I have no problems feeding her all the time off the boobies but a lot of my hobbies are outdoors like hockey (I'm hoping to get back into it soon)

I went to my 4wk check with the MCHN and Sam is growing nicely, she put on 340g in the last 2 weeks and her head and length have all grown as well, but its not surprising as she's grown out of her 0000 suits.

Last night she decided that 1-5am is awake time, it's not too bad, as she isn't really crying just checking out her surroundings, and I have the advantage of napping during the day, although haven't done that today as DH's car broke down so we had to take it to the mechanics. (a good thing he can work from home).

I also took Sam to see my work colleagues, she slept the entire time, even playing pass the parcel. Just as I got back home she woke up again so good timing in making her look like an Angelic child :-P

Elocin: I hear breastmilk is good for loosening snuffy noses, Sam had a very snuffy nose for the first 2 weeks, but it seems to have just vanished now. Although last night she sneezed up a giant boogie, I was about to wipe it away with a tissue, and she snorted it back up... it made her unhappy for a few minutes but still no snuffles since.

Miss E, hopefully you get the all-clear.
Take it easy in the meantime! BF over the last few days has been pretty good, W still has a couple of fussy feeds but I have some new tricks up my sleeve to calm her down (dummy, then quickly replacing with boob; stroking her forehead and blocking out light etc).

zilly, Sam is such a well-behaved little cherub - even in the wee hours. Great to hear she's growing so well too.

Velcro baby still attached to me. She's a hot-blooded munchkin, just like her Dad - we're both sweating a bit!

Just with the driving post-CS thing, last time round I was told to make sure I called my OB to get the ok just in case I had an accident. Apparently, if you have an accident your insurance can refuse to cover you if you are driving within 6 weeks of adominal surgery and don't have clearance from your doctor.

Re. c-section recovery etc...
I called our insurer, RACQ, and they said as long as I had been okayed by doctor, there was no restriction on driving. I asked if this meant I needed paperwork, but they said no, as long as I had been released from hospital, it was fine?!
I think the 6 week restriction applies mostly to private health insurance, which we don't have. I am 3.5 weeks post-op and I feel fine, but am only driving short distances to be safe. The worst part of the recovery for me so far is that I have been told I can't vacuum for full 6 weeks and I am just dying to... NOT!!!
A few more questions for you experienced gals...
How long does the linea negra hang around?
Do those belly recovery spandex-y things help to get a sponge-gut back into shape?

I have one too - do anyone else's babies prefer nursing on one side? Rightie seems to have a better supply (is a bit bigger, so I'm lopsided!) and W has started fussing to be moved over. Will have to boost leftie somehow.

Hi girls

Buffy: DD2 was feeding 80% from my right bb by the time we weaned at 10.5 months, the only issue was I felt lopsided and was about a cup size different between them but they went back to normal. I tried always starting her on the left, swapping back and forward, nothing changed her mind about what she preferred. I think I have a my forceful let down on that side as H prefers the left if she is comfort sucking.

LCT:P with my older girls the linea nigra lasted about 6 months

Miss E Im not too bad considering thanks. I hope you get to drive soon, must be really restricitng not being able to drive and stuck at home with teo little ones. You'll have to let me know if the osteo helps

H has been more settled so far tonight, did a huge poo this arvo that has helped her tummy. She is awake now and happily lying on her play mat looking at her toys which is a nice change from velcro baby :)

zilly sounds like sam is a night owl, I hope the day night routine spins around for you soon

nickers not man flu again! At least you got to do your drop offs without too mcuh stress todat

nasal congestion - we've been having steamy showers, spraying fess, spraying breastmilk up there too, aspirating, and using cotton buds to get boogers out ... sometimes things help, sometimes they don't ... we've also got the cot on an angle, so his head is elevated.

post c-section stuff - I've been very careful and not been lifting heavy things, staying away from the gym, trying not to run or push/pull anything too heavy, and behave in general!! as for driving, I got permission from the Dr to drive a week after the op. They did a physical exam, and decided I was fine, so they did a letter for my insurers etc, if needed...

linea nigra - I didn't have one, so I can't comment ... my stretch marks are being more stubborn this time than last pregnancy, though ... go away!! I need to bio oil it more, clearly ... !

tuby-grip for the belly - I used this last time, but it was to help my muscle separation re-knit - nothing to do with belly rolls ;) it did apparently help! this time I haven't had any separation, so I haven't been wearing any.

side preferences - not really, but my left side produces considerably more (and is a good cup size bigger! makes bra shopping interesting...). I just make sure I take it in turns as to which I offer first, and I pump both sides to try to stimulate supply. Leftie produced more last time too ... I nicknamed her "old faithful" ;)


:cry: less than a week before I go back to work!! boo! so much to do before then ... but equally, I kind of want to lay on the couch with DS2 and do absolutely nothing other than eat chocolate and cuddle and breastfeed, as there will be no rest once I'm back at work - sp why oh why would I run around doing housework and stuff now ... ?

My insurance company didn't have a policy on c-sects but I had to get clearance from my Ob. I've only been driving short distances as well, but am feeling fine when driving. The m/w said I couldn't be on painkillers, could move my legs with no pain and feel comfortable breaking hard when in the car.

I was pretty careful with lifting for about 2 weeks, but just did what I had to do after that (clothes baskets, carrying the cats around, making the bed).. Although I still don't think I've picked the vacuum cleaner up... Meh, I just don't take my shoes off :rofl:

The Fess seems to have cleared up C's snotty nose. He's not as rattley or congested anymore.

Sleep didn't really happen again last night and he was really unsettled yesterday afternoon (fussy on the boob, crying for no real reason, 5 poo's in 4 hours) so putting it down to a slight reaction to his shots. Poor kid.

He slept from 8.30-11.30 and then from 1am til 4am. My eyes feel like they are hanging out of my head. We had some plans today but I've cancelled the lot and am planning a pj day... It's rainy and chilly and I think spending the day snuggling on the couch sounds much better then anything I had organised.

I've got some shopping to do for DH's birthday next week, but I think I'll set DH & C up on a wee coffee date at Westfield tomorrow while I run around to get his gifts. Sunday, the IL's are coming for lunch which will be nice... Other than that, we've got nothing planned.

Buffy, in answer to your question, righty is definitely C's favourite side. It doesn't matter how engorged righty is, he will feed perfectly. If lefty is engorged to the point where I need to hand express a bit, he will fuss, cry, come on and off, root around and we will both end up covered in milk.

Question from me, hows everyone bedroom habits going? we still havent DTD, DF swears his balls are going to explode soon, lol! will probably give him a sympathy quicky at some point over the weekend, but in all honestly, DTD hasnt once crossed my mind

re DTD we did once around three weeks then I got AF! Then once since, all in working order :) not DTD as often as normal as too tired and sleeping in seperate rooms doesnt help lol. TMI but not needing lube this time as previously when bf things have ended up a bit dry :redface: I did have to remind DH to grab some protection as I am done having babies and even if we weren't an 11month age gap is scary as hell

Im about 4kg off pre pregnancy weight but need to lose another 10kg on top of that.Planning on starting regular walks next week then doing the couch to 5k again

H seems to be in a rough routine of feeding 9.30ish, 1am and 5am, unfortunately the 5am feed seems to have her settling about 30min before I have to get up on school days Im hoping that feed gets a little later as I would kill for another 30 minutes sleep. Got some cute winter outfits from target today @ 20% off as I forgot that most of the second hand 00's are summer items. Also have done 1/2 the housework and grocery shopping and off to a thermomix party tonight so another busy day. Oh and my parents have left too

I'm with you Skye... It's definitely not been high on my list. We tried to about 2 weeks ago but had to stop because it was too painful. Since then... Nothing...

Phew, glad you guys bought this question up... DF is clearly interested in DTD, (asap!) but everything I have read indicates trouble ahead. Plus, I haven't had any inclination anyway - sleep is pretty much the only thing I want to do in our bed right now.

C-section ladies, can you tell me, is the pain related to the scar-site, or, um, lower?

Interesting re: bb preferences. Dr Google says it's pretty common.

Total DTD drought in this house, has been since pregnancy. My libido is MIA. DH misses it but won't initiate as he knows my headspace.

Sara, H seems to be in a pretty good routine so far. Ours has been similar though we have an extra wake-up at 10:30/11:00. Good luck with the exercise plan, I must start walking. Fit into one pair of pre-baby jeans which feels good. Lots still packed away though.

Willow has been fussing and crying on and off all day, has been hard to settle for naps and is consequently over-tired. Also wants to suck constantly but then gets frustrated. Gah, vicious cycle. If we miss that first morning nap it throws her out. Hoping she'll conk out tonight.

Does anyone prefer a sling over a wrap-type carrier? W finally calmed down in the Hug-a-Bub but my SIL swears by her Bubba Moe sling...

Gah ryker was awake for 5hrs!!! Poor thing has been unsettled all day started thismorning right before school drop offs. Then this arvo from 330-830 he has pretty much cried :( fed him 3 times,had a shower with me, got himself so over tired now i am totally and utterly and stuffed so heading to bed as he is finally asleep I dunno what the night may hold. I have jumped on bb like 5 times today, read and never been able to reply, will try to tomorrow

DS2 pooed so hard it went through three layers, changed and cleaned him up, fed him - he fell asleep so deeply that there was no waking him to drink from side B, so DH popped him back in bed while I pumped ... 70 minutes later, I'm done ... but of course now DS could be waking up any time for his next feed!

sorry, no personals just now - I'm going to flee to bed and pray that tonight is the night that DS sleeps through ... so I can too!!

sounds like a lot of bubs have been unsettled the last couple of nights. Sam was up all night Thursday night, but last night she had a good sleep (which means I am almost back to normal on my sleep as well).

Nickers, how are you hon? Did you both get some sleep last night? Hope things improved. I hate over-tiredness, it's so frustrating when they're exhausted but too worked up to settle.

Peanutter, sorry you had a rough night. Did the little man behave himself in the wee hours? As for poosplosions, W has had two already today - one up the back, one up her stomach. Poor thing (and ew).

Hello to the other ladies.

W was up on and off between 3:00 and 6:30, feeling a bit rough but not too bad. Unsettled again this morning, so hard to get her down after the first change and play as she's super-alert and the smallest thing seems to wind her up. Napping now thankfully. Might try putting her in the HAB as much as I can, that might keep her calm perhaps...?

Any tips, or is it a pretty standard newborn/developmental thing? My sleepy 3-hour nap baby is gone!

Buffy - how old is miss w now? Not sure of you have a copy or habe read about it but there's a 'wonder week' around 5 weeks & then another at 8 weeks i think. If you havent heard of it there's a few threads on bb & also a bit of info if you google but it's to do with developmental leaps & how babies can go through rough patches as they have a leap.

Sounds like a few ppl have had rough nights, hope you get a chance to catch up a little soon.

Sorry fir the lack of personals - im on my phone (again!).

Had our 4 week mchn appt yesterday - keeley has put on just over 400g in 2 weeks & is now a little over 4.7kg. She's going pretty well & is good about sleeping in the bassinet at night but prefers to be held during the day. We took her to the footy on wed & i stood for the whole game with her in the close carrier. She slept for practically the whole game. Much easier than taking a toddler :lol:
