Levi has been upset and agitated for 2 days. Worked it out, he's already had a growth spurt and also the wind. I've given him a botlle and he's still giving me the same reaction. Poor boy.
Has anyone got there sex life back on track? Poor hubby is feeling a little deprived but I'm not sure when safe/normal to be back at it.
sex... whats sex??? DH and I havent had sex since I was 12 weeks pregnant.. But thats only because we werent allowed to after that because of the haemorrhage that I had...
Thanks mollie :) that's what upset me so much I think, the fact he called me selfish after everything I've been through! After everything we have all been through, no one can call any of us selfish!! I was just SO offended! I'm not letting ginger away without apologising.. Just gotta wait till i can get some time alone to tell him how hurt he has made me feel. Thanks for the support :) *hugs*
AM- yes, correct hehe. Thanks hun :) glad that you agree!!!! As for the s-e-x - noooo way! Haha. I'm still so full of sore stitches the idea is quite awful! And we haven't done any other s-e-x related activities yet either, I just feel too yuck, sore, exhausted yet.. The GP I saw yday to ask if my stitches were infected told me to wait 6 more weeks before having actual s-e-x... As far as I'm concerned my DH can wait! Haha. But yeah I reckon there will come a time where it feels right, it's just not right now! My tummy is so stretched and yuck looking that I'd feel too self conscious at the moment too..
Edit- mollie, how scary about the haemorrage!!!! Poor thing, that would have been so scary!

My GP said at my 6 week appt we would talk about contreception but I dont know if I want to go back on the pill because it took DH and I two years to concieve Aubree... So maybe we will just stick to condoms.. Although with my lovely tummy and its tiger stripes Im not sure how soon we will be doing the deed lol
Heh, we did have a bit of wandery hands not so long ago, but with the stitches I was still a bit tender and not keen on doing much more than that. The occasions when I've had enough sleep to be getting frisky I've remembered we'd need to go get condoms or something as I am completely paranoid about contraception....with good reason considering past history.
Amanda honey, I'm sorry your husband is being so completely disrespectful to you. You don't deserve that. Hopefully you can both sit down calmly and talk things through - deliberately attacking you is really not healthy.
OMG seriously? He said that? O.o Perhaps the dramas with his mother are getting to him? but still... I think I would have punched my husband in the mouth if he started calling me a ***** of a wife.. gees..
I really hope that he calms down soon for you hun and you can get it sorted. You definatley do not need that kind of emotional upheval while you have a new baby. You need support and kindness. :hug: Fingers crossed for you.
Amumma, our sex life is nowhwere near what it used to but we are slowly getting there. Finding time when bubs is asleep for awhile and us both not being exhuasted is the hard part. My husband is feeling the same LOL, but we try to make time even just for cuddles or a shower together whenever we can to stay connected in the meantime. Yeah my OB said at 6 weeks we will talk about contraception. I hadn't been on the pill for ages becuase I was giving my body a break, perhaps back to condoms? I dunno. Hesitant about the pill as it will probably dry up what little milk I have.
I'm getting exhausted from all the pumping. I'm really struggling today. Hope it gets better. We will be 4 weeks on monday of comp feeding :)

Ok so after some research (google lol). It seems 6 weeks is the normal after tearing and stitches, which I'm fine with but wanted to know. Hubby has been great but he hasn't had any action for a while lol.
Amanda yeah it was pretty scary, especially because DH was away with work so I was home alone. Drove myself to hospital, (thank god my mum could meet me there) I had to stay over night and wasnt told anything, so I had no idea what was going on and weather or not Aubree was even still there. They were on the brink of giving me a blood transfusion because I had lost so much blood.. But we came good :) and thats all that matters.. And now I have my little Aubree <3

I love weekends :) having DH home today has been lovely.. and we had nice weather today which was great. DH and I took Aubree out for a walk through our lovely complex to show her off to all the oldies who were doing gardening. And then we went and did some shopping at Costco..... Lucky me.. when we got to Costco and I was getting Aubree out of the car she had done a number 3!!! POOP everywhere.. It was all the way up to her armpits! It took me 20 minutes just to get her cleaned up and dressed in a clean outfit! lol I didnt realize so much poop could come out of such a small person :P
I love how protective/supportive we are of one another! Its nice to have these groups to turn to if your having a crappy day :)
EDIT: I forgot to add... Have any of you found that people have given your kids nicknames? and what are your thoughts on it???

We've had a really tough time here. Jess was screaming in pain constantly not sleeping for more than 10 mins at a time. We worked out that she has reflux. I was so lucky to get an appointment with our paed on Friday. She performed on cue and started screaming as soon as she was lying flat then all of this curdled milk came up.
Paed confirmed either reflux or allergy. We now have a thickener to add to her formula. That's why she wouldn't breastfeed. Because they are lying reclined the acid must've been coming up and down :(
On top of it all DH fainted on a plane in Brisbane. I just got this call telling me he was in an ambulance. My brother had to fly up there so we knew what was going on. He had high fever and now is sick so can't help me much at all. It's just getting to be too much :(
oh :hug: Jan!! I hope your DH has a speedy recovery. Poor little Jess! I hope that the thickener works for her!

Fingers are crossed that lil Jess likes the thickener and it helps with her feeding and helps her get some sleep! poor lil tyke :(

Yay my mum comes over in 12 sleeps! (harriett has a countdown on the fridge lol) ... can't wait to see mum with her newest granddaughter!
My mum has nicknamed Levi 'Jean'. As long as it doesn't catch on I'm ok with mum using it lol.
Also after talking with my mum it seems as a baby I really loved to be banged hard to burp and put to sleep. Just burped Levi after his feed and he's burped and out like a light. Hopefully we are onto something here.
Levi put on 300g in 5 days and is now just over 5kg. No tiny baby for me lol.

Just gave her a bath after an epic poop.. was too messy to wipe clean. Hopefully after this feed she will be off to bed and so will we!
Wew just spent 30mins getting my dressing off my C/S wound, and I can barely see it :) God the sticky dressing was so painful to remove though!

I hope everyone had a decent night... Ours wasnt to bad, although we had another storm here which set the dogs off in the neighbourhood... And my silly neighbours were arguing half the night!! idiots!
Oh it was agony, had to pull out a full strip of hair off my you know what :S SO glad it is off now.
Lilly is doing better and better every day. She loved her bath after the epic poop and when straight to sleep after her feed. Comping is working well for us she is like a different bub :) I just dont know how long I can maintain the pumping for. Especially once hubby goes back to work. Hubby says I'm so patient he would have given up on it ages ago. :lol: I said not paitent.. stubborn.
Heh, stubborn/patient - same diff :D Glad to hear she had a good night and that the comp feeding is working out for you thus far. I'd say keep going for as long as you feel comfortable doing so, but if it all gets too much you've given her the best start you can :hug:
Alex is really not liking this hot weather - was 38 deg yesterday and they're predicting 37 today. Spent most of yesterday giving him short little feeds every half hour or so and only had a couple of decent sleep periods, the trade off was we had a good nights sleep courtesy of the a/con

Boobs aren't to bad, left still a little sore.
Have managed to have a few outings, haven't had a major melt downs lol.
Yeah mine left is always a bit sore, I am right handed and always have difficulty getting miss wriggle pot on there properly.
My right is my problem boobie - it's a bit bigger than the other one and nipple points downwards so makes it tricky to latch him on correctly. He also doesn't like it as much because it seems to let down faster than the other one. Weird huh?
Amanda sorry to say but i think you and your hubby need to speak to someone about the way he treats you, it's really not healthy for anyone involved. He should have so much respect for you just seeing what you have been through recently. You have just created and birthed a beautiful lil girl and it's not so much him saying thankyou it's the gratitude he needs to show you that you have both connected and created a little person between you. My husband and i have had our ups and downs i can tell you but he would never tell me i am a selfish mother for not waking and feeding a sleeping baby and then tell me i'm a *****y wife cos he was asked to do a few things around the house and what you are cleaning up every night... you serioius?! You must be so exhausted. I hope i haven't offended you at all but hun some of the things he says is just way outta line.
Awww Jan you must be relieved but saddened at the same time to hear about poor Jess and the reflux she is dealing with. Really hope your hubby gets well soon what bad timing. I notice every so often Abby will be asleep and get a look on her face like acid is coming up but then is ok.
AM i have always used 6 weeks as a benchmark to resume sex. I am at the tail end of all the yuck afterbirth blood loss etc. so i can't wait really to be able to get back in the pool :) But i haven't been sore in the nether region for a couple of weeks TBH, i always recover pretty quick but then i don't have huge bubbas either like some of you gals :p
Just wondering how some of you girls are coping with over night feeds... man i was so exhausted this morning that i fed Abby at 6.30am then we were awake for an hour then we both (Abby and I) went back to bed at 7.30am and didn't get up till just after 11am. It was pure bliss cos DH took the older screaming monsters outside so i had complete peace and quiet. I also gave Abby 150mls at the feed just after 11am cos she missed her 9am one and she didn't drink it all but was pretty close and has since slept longer as well, maybe she's ready to up her feeds or going through a growth spurt. I've pretty lucky this time cos she doesn't spill any milk up, only on occasion and is pretty good at bringing wind up herself. DH took her for her first swim in the pool the other day and she loved it :) That will be our daily routine it think.

Can't remember who said about contraception but my DH is booked in on the 21st of this month to have his little operation.
Overnight feeds are exhausting!
We normally have Lilly to bed by 12:30, then she is up at 4am and then down at 5am or so then back up at 8:30am or so.
Combined with the fact for at least 2 day sleeps she does not want to go down in her bassinette and won't sleep unless she is on me, in her sleepy wrap I'm so tired so I hear ya. I've only managed to pump once today because when she wants to sleep on me I cant do it between feeds.
over night feeds make me so sleepy.. There are a couple of times I have dozed off with Aubree sucking away. Especially because we usually have a 11:30.. I try and have a sleep with her before that 11:30pm feed but sometimes my mind is too busy lol
I think i'm only averaging around the 5 hrs of broken sleep a night atm as Abby has been waking 3 hrly overnight.
Yeah I find overnight feeds make me sleepy too. Of course, it helps that I'm usually already sleepy anyway...though I can't really complain much, he usually goes down around 9pm, will wake somewhere between 12 and 2, then again around 4-5am, then up for the day around 7am. Though I have been known to lay down and have a nap when he has his morning sleep, especially if he'd given me a rough night the night before.
Lolpigs when and for how long do you pump??
I go to bed at 9:00-9:30. Levi feeds every 2.5 to 3 hours. I've beenlucky and had a few 4 hour blocks. He always has a 6:30 feed, I've decided to have breakfast and put washing on then go back to bed for an hour sleep. I've done it the last 2 days and feel pretty good during the day.
I am supposed to pump straight after a feed, but that has never been possible. I pump for 20mins, After feeding bub, and then feeding her the formula getting her settled already its been an hour and a half usually and she is back up in an hour for another feed. This is why it is getting hard to continue. I would rather her be on the boob, than pump and not have anything which has happened a few times. Due to my low supply I don't seem to "fill up" very quickly.
Unless my husband is here to feed her the formula, I almost get no time to pump. I'm really not sure what to do, he says stop pumping but I don't know what to do :S
Well after the craziness we have had tonight, im about ready to curl up in a ball and just cry... Or chuck in the breastfeeding and start formula... i feel like absolute crap because all Aubree is doing is crying and nothing we do it settling her.. Mind you im not sure weather she is over tired or not....

SAME with Aubree.. I gave her the boob she stopped crying and went to sleep.. now I am to scared to move her because I know she is tired
Sounds like it could've been over-tiredness or over-stimulation. Sometimes they get themselves so worked up they find it hard to relax enough to sleep. Sucks to be in the middle of though :hug:
Mollie she could be going through a growth spurt possibly! I know when I was still breastfeeding, Abby had a whole afternoon that she was feeding non stop and wouldn't/couldn't sleep for 7 hours straight and nothing I did settled her so we ended up taking her for a drive and the poor love was so exhausted she slept for 10 hours straight.
Wondering if we've had a growth spurt this last week cos Abby has spread her feeds out to 4 hourly mainly today. I even had to wake her at 7pm tonight cos I didn't want her going over the 4 hours. Her whole personality has really come through this week and we have really started to connect, it's really nice cos she just snuggles into me now and falls asleep without having to be fed :)
Well managed to get a couple hours nap, but that was with bubs asleep on me, seems she had a tummy ache or something that finally settled. Good grief.
Awake again for 12:30 feed, hopefully she will just go down to sleep after this one.
Ugh what an awful morning, in bed at 2:30 up at 5:30 and bubs was screaming after her feed from wind. She hardly took any bottle. Offered boob again at 8:30 and she sucked for a bit then spat up. Didn't seem too interested. Finally got her to sleep with sleepy wrap and dummy.. gah.
Also husbands are crap help when they haven't had enough sleep. Well at least mine is. Makes me not want to ask him for help becuase he is such a pita.

Also heard from my LC today, she pretty much agrees with my plan and says my supply "may" improve and pumping is the best way to do that. Gah. Don't think they know why my supply is so low or why it is not improving. Too hard basket I guess.
I'll try and pump when I can but not at the detremint of my BF relationship with bubs I think, seeing as isn't baby supposed to be better than a pump anyway?
Awwww thank you everyone for your support and being so kind :) it made me feel so much better reading all your replies :) I really feel that the best thing might be to go see a relationships counsellor just to bounce some thoughts off of a third, impartial person cos I finally got a chance to speak to him about it last night and I said I was really hurt by what he said and wanted to make sure he didn't actually mean it, and he was like, I didn't mean it in general but in that particular situation you were being selfish- ugh.
So yeah, Danni I agree with you completely and yes, that's the part that upset me so much, after everything I've been through, it definitely would be nice for a bit of gratitude rather than the opposite! So many people say that having a baby brings you closer and I feel sad that it's not really done that considering I feel like what we have achieved as a couple is so special and his actions just don't really demonstrate the same feelings... I'm sure he feels that way deep down somehow but he sure doesn't show it! Thank you all again for your support, definitely what I needed!!! *hugs to you all*
On another note, sorry to hear of the tough time you both had lolpigs and mollie! I had a similar night, from about 4pm till 11:30pm or so, violet kept feeding every 5 mins... Made my FIL say he thought I should mention it to the nurse who comes Wednesday but pretty sure it might be a growth spurt! Hope you both have better days today and nights tonight... And lolpigs, I hear you on the husbands being not particularly helpful thing! Ugh!!
Jan, so sorry to hear of your ordeal... I really hope all is okay, thinking of you!
Oh and Danni, also, the overnight feeds are sooo tiring! We are every 2-3 hours too and each time she cries it feels like I've only just gotten back to sleep... And it's such a struggle to get out of bed! Feels like you can hardly remember a night where you had a full nights sleep hey!
Amanda glad you had a chance to speak to your DH. They say some men can go through PND and depression post baby's birth too and it's a huge adjustment period for the whole family once a bub is born but hey it can't hurt to seek out some councelling to work out where your both coming from cos sometimes it just feels like your hitting heads constantly.
Wondering how much wake time most of you are having with your bubs mainly during the day cos it always seems as though Abby wants to sleep. She is feeding plenty still but she will either go straight back to sleep or only maybe have 1.5hrs of wake time and that can be pushing it some days. I fed her at 10pm last night before i put her to bed for the night and she went through to 2am then was awake again at 5.30am but then i just fed her and was up for the day instead of going back to bed, plus she had 1.5 hrs of wake time till 7am. Really got to work on her having more wake time during the day but she really seems to only like 1-2 hrs of wake time then goes to sleep which is good cos i can then have some time with DS or some me time.
