TMI ALERT... So around Christmas time I had a bit of bleeding, brownish kinda like old blood... Tonight when I went to the toilet I have bright red blood... I'm a little concerned that something might be wrong :(

Lol does Lilly still need the Losec? Maybe stopping the medicine has made her more unsettled? How were you giving it to her? I crush it and mix it in a little cooled boiled water. Then put it in the syringe. Through trial and error I have found that having her in the pram which is elevated works well and I babble at her then as she opens her mouth I put it in then distract her by being silly until the whole lot goes in. Then I give her bottle of milk straight after to get it down. I used to hold her and try to give the Losec that way but it was harder and she would cry.
Jessica doesn't like the swing I think mainlu because of the movement, doesn't like the sensation. I gave up on it and am giving it away to my SIL. How is Lilly going tonight?

CK - could you ask your DD to keep you posted on these sorts of things? Schools have the dates of these things set way in advance at the beginning of the year/term. You could ring the school to find out the dates and put them in your diary. Does she have a school diary? Most schools you can communicate with her homeroom teacher and ask questions or ring and leave a message for the teacher. Lots of ways you can find out info. Or pop in and ask the school office. Schools are usually very easy to get info out of unless there is a court order restriction prohibiting information. You could also ask to see DD's school newsletters they are usually full of dates etc.
I'm definitely going to be taking a bit more action when it comes to DD's schooling this year, that's for sure - I'm planning on setting up a meeting with her class teacher and the deputy principal to go over what's happening and everything, and see if I can be set up as a contact for notification via email if possible. Relying on DD wouldn't work, she only remembers things the day they're about to happen if that - speaking from previous experience. I guess since I was working full time last year and didn't really have a lot of involvement with her schooling I was trusting XP to relay, he always had done reasonably before but has majorly dropped the ball this past year. Ugh, somehow I have a niggly suspicion that relations with the ex may well turn nasty - which will be a shame as we've always been quite amicable. Exes...right royal pains in the butt if you ask me!
Jan - No Pead told us to stop giving it to her. We tried many times to give it to her before a feed but she just always spat it all back up so we were giving it in her bottle, but he thought that was a waste of time and told us we could stop. Most of her symptoms are around when she poops rather than when she feeds which is more Colic than reflux is that right?
Tonight she ate at 4pm, 7:30pm, 11:30pm and now at 3:15am and again at 6:35am Thats more than usual, however we have had her on I'm going to try and keep her to 3.5-4 hourly feeds tomorrow so long as her Colic dosent get in the way, I'm trying Dan's suggestion of trying FF for a day or 2 to see if something in the BM is upsetting her tummy. If it is I'm not really sure what to cut out. BM I guess. Shame. I didn't even do the dream feed as she woke hungry at 11:30pm.
Should I try feeding her more often in the evenings do you think or just stick with every 3.5-4 hours? I don't want to change too much and pretty much just go along with whatever she wants with feeding atm.
Since about 6pm we haven't had any Colic episodes and that one was only mild as it only lasted an hour which is positive.
It is also super humid here atm, and she hates the heat so I think this is also contributing to her unsettled behaviour, its hard to sleep when its hot as we all know and I think this is why she is feeding more often too I guess?
It's 6:30am and I can't sleep :( Levi woke for a feed at 6am. Now I'm wide awake. Mind you he's talking to himself I could just go play with him lol.
Our night time routine is change, feed and sleep. That way if he gets worked up from being changed, the feed will calm him down enough to go straight back to sleep. During the day it's whatever goes.
Taking to my friend yesterday, her little boy is 15 weeks old. I didn't really think about it much...that's 4 months old!!! Levi is 2 months old this week :( I think I'll stick to counting in weeks, it makes him sound younger lol.
Lolpigs my routine yesterday feed wise was 3:30am, 8am, 12noon, 3:30pm, 7pm, 9:30pm - they were all led by Abby. Today so far we have been 2:30am & 7:30am, she seems to have stretched herself out to 5hrs this morning so far and will feed again getting closer to midday then we can follow her normal afternoon routine fairly closely. I also noticed yesterday Abby struggled to finish around the 100ml of milk at each feed, she seemed fine otherwise but I think that's why she wanted to feed earlier than normal at 9:30pm and was awake still.
Trying to figure out what I can do about stopping my IB from leaking - any ideas?? I think the leakage was from around her legs yesterday so maybe i need to put in another soaker pad!

Alex's feeds are all over the shop atm - think he's having another growth spurt. Last night he was feeding every 20-30 mins from 5pm till 8pm, had his shower and another feed then bed at 9pm. And slept through till 4.30am :)
How much chucking would you say is normal? Alex just mega chucked again, he doesn't seem to be in pain or distressed by it but it looked like heaps - covered bot me and him :( Will be asking the CHN tomorrow but wanted to know what you girls think?
Had a rather not fun supermarket trip - fed violet before she went and expected she would sleep in the infant trolley as normal but she was unsettled and ended up crying like crazy by the time we reached the checkout! Poor bubby.
I expressed 50ml of BM not last night but the night before cos I had some leftover- I kept it in the fridge and realized I wouldn't be needing it so put it in the freezer- I know it can last in the fridge a few days but do you think it's okay to leave in the fridge a few days and then put in the freezer?
Have decided I quite enjoy buying dummies hehe- I find it fun choosing the cute designs / colours and tend to buy another pack whenever I'm out shopping hehe.
Now that violet is 6.45 kg we've bought crawler nappies- mainly cos like you mentioned CK, infant huggies nappies don't seem to be readily available in the big boxes.. Weird! Sounds funny to say she's in crawler nappies at 7 weeks old hahhaha.
Mollie yeah I'd suggest it'd be AF too? Any cramping along with the bleeding? From what I heard, unless it's a lot of blood it's normally just AF.. How annoying for you!
I have a VERY TMI question also............. Anyone felt like their stitches kinda left too much scar tissue? Or does anyone know if scar tissue reduces over time? Feels like the vijayjay opening is way tighter than normal-- waaaay too scared to try DTD as I reckon it'd be almost impossible ATM?! Uhh scary?!!
I've always been told unless it bothers them than it's not too much of a concern.

I don't know Amanda - mine doesn't feel any different really. The first time we DTD we just took it very slow with lots of foreplay and used a bit of extra lube, but once the first time was out of the way it was fine. You can try massaging the scar area to stretch the skin a bit I guess, but if it's super tight and causing problems maybe a chat with your Dr?
From what I've read CK unless he is doing it multiple times a day and its distressing him, or has blood in it or he is not thriving due to chucking so much there isn't really something to worry about. Unless it starts to affect his health he is gifting you with some extra washing!
Well after last night I've been trying to keep Lilly to her 4 hours, becuase I've noticed now I'm paying attention, rather than demand feeding she tends to not get enough feeds in during the day, that can affect her at night too right? So if she has been asleep after 4 hours rolls around, I've been gently changing her nappy to wake her and giving her a feed. Funny thing is she is always really hungry once she wakes up enough.. seems odd? Or is she just changing on me again :lol:
Feeds today were 6:30 then 10:30am and now at 2:30pm the last 2 were initiated by me because it had been 4 hours.
Also after 2 unsettled times and not being able to sleep for more than 45 mins in her cot and having to come downstairs to the swing to finish her nap (which BTW my lovley DH fixed yay! I also have a new motor on the way from Fisher Price for free! win!) She just guzzled her 120mls and wanted to go back to sleep with no play which isnt like her. So I put her wrap on and put her down. It is still hot here so that could be unsettling her. We havn't had a colic attack since stopping BM so I'll reintroduce it tomorrow and see what happens.
We got a evaporative cooler for her room as well so even though the actual temp in there is 27 degrees its quite pleasent so that should help her get some sleep.
I have noticed if I wake her for her feeds at 4 hour mark she has stopped taking such massive amounts (only between 120 - 150mls), which should help with the tummy upset as well, I was mortified at her taking 240mls one time as she got the biggest tummy ache afterwards and a Colic attack.
Heres hoping her getting 5 feeds in during the day will help her rather than bigger feeds she tends to lean towards naturally when I demand feed her.
Dan how long has it been since they have been strip washed? They might have a residue build up on them stopping them from being as absorbant as they could be. Might be worth a try. Which washing powder do you use? I use Rockin Green or Earth Wash from the supermarket so they dont get build up. I use mostly Little Britches.
Mollie - Bummer at AF it is what it sounds like. Has it started to settle down? If not you could always double check with your Dr?
Amanda - Buying Dummies is fun :) Lilly's favorite are the little Avent ones. So cute. Naw poor bubba. Every time we go out seems to bother Lilly, however I've discovered after a Colic attack the other day that she will fall asleep in the pram, when she had previously resisted so at least now I know if I have to go out and its too hot for Ergo I have another option.
Does anyone else find their car seat really annoying? I find it hard to get DD out of the thing becuase of the seat belt straps on the side. I need to be so careful not to bonk her head on the roof LOL
Today.... NOTHING!!! Stupid body! I will speak with the nurses on wednesday when we head in for our appt.
Amanda I <3 buying dummies.. We have some cute ones. I saw some really cute ones yesterday at the baby shop near our place.. DH wouldnt let me buy them though.. So now that he is back at work I will get them heheh ;)
Lolpigs sounds like Lilly may have day and night mixed up. I hope you can get it all sorted with the feeding :) I am the same with you with the car seat.. It takes me ages, because I am scared Ill bump Aubree's head.
Well even with DH back at work I have managed to get a lot done today. And I am hoping to get some more done tomorrow.. I am waiting for DH to get home now so that I can set up my sewing machine, Im going to make some re-usable/washable change mats. And maybe on the weekend I will go have a look at spotlight for some patterns for some other little things for Miss Aubree....
Levi has started dribbling, like teething but no sign of teeth Yay! Ive got a thing with buying bibs lol.
I can't believe Levi will be 2 months on the 16th :(
Oh Mollie I hope not :( She dosent stay awake at night nor sleep all day, infact it is still hit and miss trying to get her down for her naps, this is the first night ever we do Feed, Play Sleep during the day and at night we just change nappy feed and go back to bed in the almost dark. I will do a 10pm feed tonight in the dark, finally got her feeding so we can have one and see how she goes. She had a bellyache this evening so ate at 6pm and then cried for over and hour till I took her for a walk in the ergo and she went to sleep. Kept fussing once we got home so put her to bed at 8pm and she finally went to sleep.
Now we know how to manage her colic we are going to do trips every day during the day
I'm hoping it was just beucase it was so muggy last night, she seems to be a real fusspot not easy going at all my girl!
I also seem to be having issues catching up on sleep during the day. Not sure why but I feel on edge. When I lay down to sleep it takes a big effort to relax enough. So weird as I've not had sleeping issues before.
Amumma they can dribble forever and not get their teeth till much later on their teeth can move around and bother them too apparently. Fun stuff!

Z slept (unsettled) from 10 thru to 7ish this morning! and probably would have kept sleeping if miss H didn't come in and decided to hug Z awake!
Z's drinking has been all over the place to today. Had 180mls at 7ish this morning, then 10am had 120mls then at 12 had about 80mls then at 2ish had another 80mls then at 5ish had 100mls. Hubby has just got her to scoff 160mls.
She is so very muchly unsettled! what a fun night ahead for moi!
Ahhh LOL, you will never sleep again ;) hehe nah, you will eventually get back to, well, somewhat normal!

Must be the day for unsettledness - after his big sleep last night Alex hasn't deigned to sleep for more than about 40 minutes at a stretch all day. He's just wanted to feed pretty well constantly, and would doze off while feeding but when I went to put him down in his cot be instantly awake and grizzling until he got more. DD has been a bit of a pain in the butt today, I'd just gotten Alex off to sleep in his rocker, he'd been asleep for maybe 20 mins when she decided to go ride her bike and slammed the door on the way out - which woke him up. Grrrrr, I could've strangled her!
All this has resulted in my being in a right royally filthy mood, DH came home to me grumping on the couch feeding Alex and DD sulking in her room after I told her to nick off and leave me alone for a bit because I was completely touched out and extremely irritable and didn't want to do my block at her when it's really not exactly her fault. Though it doesn't help when she wants to watch the same damn 3 or 4 movies all the time that she's seen a hundred times and I could just about recite verbatim...
Going to go bury myself in a hole till this mood passes.

Well I have to say I think I'm in love with my 4 hour routine and the 10pm feed. I persisted with it yesturday, and I got her out of bed at 10pm and changed her nappy and fed her to which she decided it was a good time to poop everywhere half way through the feed and have a giggle and I thought I had blown it! I kept calm and just shushed her through it and finished her bottle.
I popped her into bed and she just drifted off to sleep.. and woke up at 6am! Hooray! Her getting 5 feeds in during the day definatley helped I think. I'm going to reintroduce the BM next feed and see how we go. I was so exhausted I slept right through but hubby said he got up to check on her a few times.. Thank goodness! She had her wrap on becuase I forgot to change her clothes while doing the nappy. I'll do that tonight.
Definatley going to keep this routine up, it seems to be helping her sleep during the day as well. I guess sleep begats sleep with my fuss pot!
