You will know when it is the right time to tell yr mum that YOU are the mum of Lilly, and YOU are the one who knows best for her
Guess I am lucky, 1) my mum lives in Tassie hehe , altho she is here atm 2) she loves how I parent, continually tells me I'm a great mum 3) my mum lives in Tassie mwahahhahahahahaaa ahhh I make myself laugh
Am so happy Lilly went to bed so easily for you! She knew what to do to make mummy feel better xx
Levi's great to put to sleep, loves to be thumped on the nappy. Only takes 5 mins. We offer him the dummy once or twice, if he pushes it out he doesn't get it. We leave him talk or fo his half hearted cry (normally he's not happy the dummy fell out) once it gets more serious (a real cry). We get up and see him.
Our at night routine works well for us, hubby gets up and changes his bum, I go to the loo and come back and get the boobies ready. I feed, hubby let's the dogs out for the loo. After feed I settle him, hubby takes him settles him in the cot, I let the dogs back in and we all go to bed. Takes 30 mins.
Yeah I've started doing that, i'll pop her down in her cot and potter about go to the bathroom etc to see if she will settle on her own, mostly she starts to cry after a time so I pick her up and settle her in arms, or pat bottom or do dummy.
She seems to re settle herself fine if she wakes over night unless she needs something like food, or nappy or whatever, just the initial going to sleep is the bit she needs to work on so I'm not going to force the issue.
You know, when i think bout it...I would prefer someone rocking me to sleep! oh and DEFINITELY LOVE when hubby plays with my back at night! It helps me get such a good nights sleep!
So no wonder my bubs want the human contact to fall asleep hehehe
Felt so bad while I was out shopping - had Alex in the Ergo and accidentally clipped his foot with the trolley where it was sticking out of the side. He went from fast asleep to screaming and I felt terrible I can definitely tell his pain cry, it's sooooo outraged then sad and he sticks his bottom lip out and everything.
Lolpigs different people and different babies will find what works. For example what I did with DS1 didn't work for DS2, he was just a very unsettled bub and it took time for him to find his groove, the more I tried to get him into some sort of routine the worse he got and in the end I just went with him leading me and It just all fell into place. I am pretty much doing what Nikky is ATM and it is working for us, except Abby sleeps in her bassinet through the night.
Does anyone else majorly suck at expressing? I know that what can be expressed is no indication of supply but I just tried expressing just now and I seriously only got a few mls and that's it.
Me. Most I've ever gotten was 70ml, and that was after Alex skipped his stupid am feed and I was engorged. Usually I'm lucky to get 20ml or so and I know darn well Alex is taking more than that because he's growing so well - had to move the shoulder straps on his carseat again yesterday.
Took me awhile to get good at it, also if bubs is sucking my body knows and I get less for the pump its weird. Thanks Dan.
Anyone know what I should do? Bubs can now roll all the way over so even with her wrap on shes rolling on to her side and stomach in her cot, I freaked out at 6am when I checked her and she was on her stomach! :S She can get off her stomach on her own I think but I moved her but I'm worried.

Just had a massive fight about parental leave finances etc, and I got called fat cos all I do is sit around / go shopping all day - um wtf? I just had a baby! And I'm pretty muh back to my normal size 8 clothes anyway- I know he purposely just picked the worst thing he could say to me to hurt my feelings the most. I was like, I can't exercise till I've got a doctors clearance at my 6 week appointment on Friday and besides, he's got no right to say anything to do with my weight anyway. Soooooo angry I could scream.
CK that was the same as me that most I've ever expressed is 50mls and that was when I was super engorged.
Amanda hun the way he talks to you is terrible and I'm really worried about you and Violet. Does the fact that you had a traumatic birth not even enter his mind and it takes longer to exercise if you've had stitches and so what anyway he should love you for who you are.
Me too Amanda, I'm really worried for you, hes being very abusive. I really hope you get it sorted soon. Can you go stay with your mum or other family member for a few days?
Thanks girls its so awful.. I'm going to book the councelling and see how things go. And sit down tonight once he and I have calmed down and tell him how hurt he has made me feel and that we need to discuss the way we communicate cos I can't continue being treated like this. And my tummy is pretty much flat again, it's just the skin that's a bit yuck- ugh but regardless who cares?! It's irrelevant, I just had a baby! He just knew that comment would bother me heaps!
Thanks for the support and sorry to whinge again about things with him, it's just so frustrating! I'll let you know how the councelling goes.. I intended to wait a couple more weeks till I felt a bit less exhausted but I think I'll book it for his next day off work..
