Danni, I checked and our insurance apparently doesn't cover it- grrrrr. So I called around and it's about 400 to replace the screen! Darnit! Itd still probably be in warranty but cos I broke it wouldn't be covered... So annoyed at myself!
Um YUM looking cake recipe lolpigs! Violet does that in the mornings at about 6:30/7 so I get her up, she says hello to daddy, has a bit of a play and then is super tired too! I reckon it's when her room gets light she thinks it's awake time! I need to get the blockout blinds!
CK ohhhhh gah, stupid cold! How annoying for you! Hope it goes away soon.... Yeah hopefully Alex will be okay and avoid it!
Nikky, aww poor missy Harriet.. Hope her little nose heals up fast!
After spending a fortune at targets baby sale, I just got the big w baby sale catalogue in the mail! Hehhehehhehe. Planning purchases now :)
-
Yeah I'm thinking its just her body clock. Tomorrow I'm going to get her up for a little while for a cuddle then pop her back into bed. Quiet mornings are best. She has dropped a feed too so I've started getting her up at 10:30pm for a dream feed.
Haha yeah I saw that cattle dog Amanda :) I am going to get a Bumbo on the way to Toukley so we can use it in the shower up there for Lilly so I can sit her on the floor of the shower.
Colds are :(
-
Wow Lilly has dropped a feed and is down to 4 feeds, and is doing sleep play sleep today.. but the thing is she is pretty upset when I go to put her down and needs dummy.. such a dramatic change.. 4 weeks till we start solids! My new Pead said solids help reflux babies so fingers crossed :)
-
ohh, that's a good topic LOL.
When/what age you guys going to introduce solids to ya bubs?
Like with Harriett, we are going to wait till Zoe is 6 months before we do.
I got a Bumbo yesterday Lol...Zoe sits in it while we eat dinner hehe Only because she has outgrown the swing :|

I am just going by the pead for DD, but TBH I would start solids at 4 months/whenever they are ready. Thats how we were raised.

Hi :)
Yesterday and today has been horrible for us. She has continued to be unsettled most of the time. Then yesterday when I was changing her she did a vomit, and there was a small amount of blood in it :( Some of it landed on her bib and I noticed straight away it was a different colour. I was soooooooo upset. Called the paed who wouldn't see us until MONDAY. Dumbfounded I hang up, but then when I told my brother he said that I demand a sooner appointment. So I rang back, the secretary was nasty saying it was only a *small* amount of blood. I said that I'd been unhappy with the way we had been treated there. He'd told me to not come back until she was 4 months old. The sec was very rude and said that was all she could offer and she'd talk again with the paed. I said I'd find another paed to see us this week and she answered "good luck, you wont get an appt this week".
Then she rang back, said she had the paed on the phone. He talked to me like I was a criminal and was a bully saying I shouldnt have talked to his sec like that. That he had phone records of everything I said. He went on and on, until I said I was very distressed and didn't want to speak to him anymore. He said even though I had behaved so badly he would still see us. I told him I'd find another paed as I couldn't believe a doctor would speak to a patient like this.
My brother recommended a paed, guess what after explaining what happened they saw us that afternoon AND he was in the rooms NEXT DOOR to the other pead. I knew it was the same hospital but didn't realise they were next to each other. The old paed found out what I was doing somehow and he had the gall to show up outside in the hall after we had out appointment!! He obviously wasn't that busy. He asked me if I had received the care that I needed? I said yes I did but he shouldn't have spoken to me like that. All I wanted was help for my baby. It was unbelievable. That guy gives me the creeps. Won't be seeing him again. The new doc was so nice and said that it had been going on for too long. Gave us Zantac, Neocate formula and losec suspension so no more crushing tablets. I'm hoping it works, though he said it will take a week or two. I'm to call him on Monday. So much better than the other guy. But it really shook me up.
To top it off, spoke to MIL during all this. Explained what had just happened and she said "hmm, actually the reason I called was to find out the date of Julian's party in APRIL. Wasn't interested about her grand daughter just vomiting up blood. And the reason she needed to know the date was so she could organise all her own bocce parties. Anyway, Pat didn't return their phone calls last night. He is sick of their behaviour, so my FIL turned up at my place this morning all ticked. Had a go at me, so I told him a few home truths. MIL is very upset by what I said. So it has been an incredibly stressful few days :( DH was very upset with me too, then said everything I said was true. He just hates dealing with them and said its better to say nothing to them at all. Ughh....
Nikky Miss Z is absolutely adorable!!!
CK I hope you feel better soon

OH MY GOSH JAN! I cannot believe how disgusting the pead's behaviour was, I'd have been in TEARS, you poor thing! Oh I'd love to kick him in the nuts for you! People like that should NOT be able to practice medicine. Especially when your a mum jut trying to get the best care for your baby and what mother wouldnt want an earlier appointment than Monday?! Monday is rediculous. The NERVE of that secretary as well, the two of them should go work in a profession where they don't talk to people. I'm so disgusted on your behalf! Id be feeling very emotionally wrecked after that if I were you! And to make matters worse - ugh @ your inlaws!!!!!!! I dont even know where to begin with them. Huge huge hugs to you- I'm SO glad you were able to get a new, good pead, and I really hope the new formula and meds help..
Wow, I'm so sorry you had to go through all that... If your feeling a bit traumatized / distressed, you have every right to be! I'd be feeling heaps shaken up... Hugs hugs hugs!
I think we will start solids at 4 months, if she's interested... :)
Did some more shopping and bought a whole bunch of size 0 onesies, cos little miss doesn't seem to fit into 00 anymore, her little toes are right at the end!
-
I'll probably start Alex on solids somewhere between 4-6 months when he shows me he's ready.
Feeling a little better, Alex had a 3hr nap which meant I got one too. Being a fun and interesting mummy is hard work when you're feeling sick and just want to sleep. But on the plus side, I got all his nice new nappies washed and folded.
ETA - Jan I'm so sorry you went through that! That is absolutely revolting behaviour from the paed, so glad the new one was nicer and seemed to actually CARE about how distressed and upset you were  Here's hoping the new medication works, seeing blood in her vomit must've been scary. And as for your self absorbed ILs...
-
**** Jan!
REPORT that son of a b!tch! Seriously! if you can't handle stressed out mums then you are OBVIOUSLY in the wrong profession!
Oh I am so angry on yr behalf right now! that words are failing me!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
Think we'll be closer to 6 months Abby isn't an overly hungry baby. Think I would rather add an extra milk feed than to introduce solids earlier.

Thats horrific Jan! What a SOB! I am so glad you got a new pead and they are helping you. At least my old pead was only indifferent :/ I hope the new formula helps poor little girl.
Many many hugs to you, MIL suck!

Thanks ladies :) I am emotionally wrecked today. He is a bully.
The bleeding is a sign that the acid from her reflux is causing damage to her oesophagus. It definitely requires the right medication. The old paed told me he didn't believe in giving more losec and I told him the new doc (who he knows) didn't prescribe more losec, the same dose but other things that can help her. How can he not know what to do? He is based in one of the best private hospitals in Sydney. Goes to show you can't trust anyone.
Oh and my inlaws are always like that. Mil never listens. She's actually told me time and again that there is nothing wrong with Jessica. All of her four kids were like Jess according to her. She had the gall to suggest that the losec was causing the bleeding. That made me really angry. It has all stemmed from when DH fainted in the plane in Brisbane and none of them were bothered to do anything about it. Then when he has pneumonia they didn't call him or help him at all. Jess was 3 weeks old then. I've just had enough!
-
Owwwww!! Alex has taken to biting down on my nipple during feeds. I take him off and say NO! Biting hurts mummy, but he just grins at me the cheeky lil monkey! He's a bit young yet to just put him on the ground though, so not sure how else to stop him doing it...
-
Owww ck! No idea what you can do about that :/
Yeah your poor bub :/ our old pead was like that too didnt give 2 crap, her new pead is much better,i dont feel crazy anymore!

Ummm how did I miss your post Jan?? I must of had my damn eyes shut!
I would report him and his secretary and I would have probably decked both of them I think. Poor Jess she must be in just so much pain, my first thought with blood was yeah that's really serious and needs urgent attention.
Gahhh you poor thing with the outlaws, what complete tools!!! Unfortunately you can't pick your family.

CK my eyes watered reading that- ouch!!!! Could you use a nipple shield? How frustrating!!
Jan- its absolutely awful how your inlaws like to say that all their children were like Jess- makes me sick when people assume they know your baby enough to make those comments! It's like uh no, you have no idea so don't pretend like you know everything... Man, I soooo feel for you- I have inlaws issues as well but not as frustrating as yours... Sounds like they're the sorts of people who don't put in any effort at all, yet still feel they have the right to comment on everything as though they're experts. Yuck!
Any babies grabbing stuff consciously yet? Violet doesn't seem to understand the concept yet!
Also has anyone read Save Our Sleep by Tizzie Hall? Thinking of buying it!! I've been on the website and t seems very interesting! Lolpigs, have you been on there?
-
Yep Lilly loves grabbing things her blankie toy especially.
Yeah I have but shes also been linked to CC and CIO which I dont believe in.
I am reading sleeping like a baby by pinky makay atm.
